Daniel M. Hinton
Daniel M. Hinton, age 63, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 25, 2002 at his home in Louisville, OH. Born in Wellsville, OH, he is the son of the late Earl and Faye (Latshaw) Hinton. Also preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Johnson. He retired four years ago from the Canton Parks Dept. after 32 years of service. Survived by his wife, Anna, to whom he was married 42 years; daughter, Debra Lee Hinton; brothers, William (Betty) Hinton, Wayne (Vickie) Hinton, and Eugene Hinton; sisters Barbara Derheimer and Nora (Bob) Sifft; many nieces and nephews. Services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home in charge of Donald Shook. Friends will be received prior to services from 2-4 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.

Dominic Franzone
Dominic Franzone (Defran). Beloved husband of Jean M. (nee: Pancaldo). Loving father of Nicolette Stockle (husband, Ted); loving stepfather of Cathy Cefaratti (husband, Wayne Zenobi), Maureen Migliorini (husband, Joseph), Judy Sapanaro and Rick Loconte (wife, Ruth); devoted grandfather, of 17; great-grandfather of nine; dear brother of Carmel Mills, Joanne Lambrakis, Joseph Franzone, John Franzone and the late Evelyn Franzone. Friends may call at the Ferfolia Funeral Home, 356 West Aurora Rd. Donald Ray Bowman
Donald Ray Bowman, age 67, of Ironton, passed away Thursday (July 25, 2002) at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY. The Lawrence County native was born July 2, 1935 the son of the late Manual and Maggie Christian Bowman. Mr. Bowman was United States Army Vet. and formerly worked at the Sement Solvay in Ironton. He presently was a superintendent for Central Allied Enterprises in Canton, OH. He attended Rock Hill Schools growing up, was a member of the Carpenters Local #170, and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Donohue, and Margaret McClellan; one brother, Harold (Hoppie) Bowman; and grandson, Jeremy Corbin. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mark Bowman and Cathy Hudson of Florence, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Stephen Young of Ironton, OH; son, David Bowman of Columbus, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Angie Bowman of Ironton, OH; step-son and his wife, Frank and Donna Stephenson of Ironton, OH, step-son and his wife, Bobby and Robin Stephenson of Ironton, OH; 12 grandchildren, Tiffany Farley of Panama City, FL, Christina Bowman of Botkins, OH, Ryan Young of Ironton, OH, Maggie Young of Ironton, OH, Payton Bowman of Ashland, KY, Caitlin Hudson-Bowman of Florence, KY, Garrett Hudson-Smith of Florence, KY, Joshua Corbin of Pedro, OH, Adam Stephenson of Ironton, OH, Aaron Stephenson of Ironton, OH, Bobby Stephenson of Jackson, OH, Brie Hunt of Ironton, OH; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday (July 27, 2002) at 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Jack Pemberton and Rev. Calvin Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be provided by V.F.W. Post #8850. George A. Radu, Jr.
George A. Radu, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, for Mr. George A. Radu, Jr., 92, of Sunnyside St. S.W., Hartville, OH (formerly of South Ave. in Boardman), who entered into rest Wednesday morning. Mr. Radu, Jr. was born September 13, 1909, in Agnita, Transylvania, the son of George and Anna (Angel) Radu, Sr. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in June of 1927 and attended Youngstown College. He was employed for 37 years at Youngstown Sheet Tube Co., where he was a general foreman of foundry in Campbell. He retired in 1973. He was a member of the church and belonged to St. Albans Masonic Lodge, St. John's Commandery, the Al Koran Temple (Youngstown Shrine), the Aut-Mori Grotto, and the F.O.P. Associate of Girard, OH. He was a lifetime member of the Mahoning Valley Industrial Management Association and the Baseball Town U.S.A. Old Timers Association. Mr. Radu will be remembered by many, including his wife, the former Anna Pauline (Fleaka) whom he married June 24, 1934; a daughter, Georgia Ann Corbett (James) of Hartville; and a son-in-law, Jack Moran of Boardman. Besides his parents, a daughter, June D. Moran preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home on Sunday, 2-5 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. and a Masonic service at 4:30 p.m., and also on Monday, 10:30-11 a.m. at the church. Harold J. Weber
Harold J. (Ozzie) Weber, age 78, of Canton, passed away Monday in Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. born in Canton, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy Weber. He was a 1941 Timken High School graduate, served in World War II, with the U.S. Navy at Saipan in the Pacific theater. He was retired from Wean United Engineering in 1985, was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, the American Legion Canton Post #44 and the VFW Floyd Hughes Post #693. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert R. and Janet M. Weber; sister, Dorothy C. Ebert. Survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnne (Piero) Weber whom he married Sept. 15, 1951; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marjorie and James Noel, Sr. of Akron, Jean Rothbauer of Glassport, PA, Burt Ebert of North Canton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A private service was held on Friday in Calvary Cemetery Chapel with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano officiating. Entombment took place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. A Memorial Mass will be Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church school fund or St. Peter Catholic Church Trust fund.

Irene S. Lauro
Irene S. Lauro, age 83, of North Canton, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Aultman Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, North Canton and had been a resident of Sterling Heights, MI from 1978-1997 during which time she was a medical records clerk at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit. Survived by her sons, John S. Lauro and Richard G. Stalko, both of North Canton; granddaughter, Bridgette Rockwell of Michigan and daughter-in-law, Vicki Lauro of North Canton. Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Stella (Skrobot) Bielski; brother, Zigmund Bielski. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 12 Noon in St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Rudjak officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stark County MRDD, Whippledale Center, 2950 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708. Lee W. Kyser
Lee W. Kyser, age 72, of Navarre, OH, passed way Thursday evening, July 25, 2002 in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in Canfield, OH, September 24, 1929 to his parents the late Alvin and Marie (Carter) Kyser, he lived most of his life in the Canton area and was a 1943 graduate of Middlebranch High School. Mr. Kyser was a retired employee of Norfolk and Southern Railway, retiring in 1990 after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Brewster Moose Lodge and was an avid golfer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Gerald Kyser. Survivors include his wife, Donna (Martin) Kyser of the home to whom he was married 52 years; his eight children and their spouses ; Debra and Ron Winters of Canton, OH, Carol and Maurice Scott of Canton, Ralph and Mary Kyser of Louisville, OH, Andrew and Debbie Kyser of Navarre, OH, Steven Kyser of Canton, OH, Nancy Kyser of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Kyser of Canton, OH, Gail and Elliot Faldowski of North Lawrence, OH; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Richard Hummel, Sandra and Gabriel Cuenot both of Massillon, OH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Patricia Kyser of Oak Harbor, OH, Larry and Mary Jane Kyser of Oregon, OH, Wayne and Carol Rex of Strasburg, OH; his step-mother; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri officiating. Entombment will be n the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Sunday 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday from 10-11 a.m.

Ralph Risner
Ralph Risner. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Hughes and Rev. David Rodweller officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour before services on Monday, from 10-11 a.m.

Richard E. Harbert
Richard E. Harbert, age 67, died July 19, 2002 at his home. The celebration of his life was held July 24, 2002 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem. Mr. Harbert is survived by his fiancee; two sons including, Daniel Harbert of Canton; a daughter; brother; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Robert L. Bray
Robert L. Bray, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 25, 2002. Lifetime resident of the Barberton area, he was an avid bowler and an AA-Ball Player. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace with 37 years of service with Interstate United/Canteen Vending Service and was employed with Century Products. Preceded in death by his wife, Clara Irene. Robert was survived by children, Timmy L. Sr., Dottie J., James R., Guy W., Scott A., Robert L. Jr., Larry T., Randy N., Kathern I.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday 1 p.m. at Barerton First Church of Christ with Ryan Hayden officiating. Burial Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in care of Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home.

Melanie Jean (King) Fisher
Melanie Jean (King) Fisher, age 48, of North Canton, passed away Friday morning July 26, 2002 in Aultman Hospital. Melanie was born December 7, 1953 in Canton to George King and the late Grace Jean King and has been a lifetime area resident. She was a teacher at Louisville Elementary School and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton. A 1971 graduate of Lehman High School, she received her B.S. degree in teaching from Malone College in 1975 and her masters from Ashland College in 1996. Melanie was a member of Canton College Club, 32-year member of the North East Ohio Education Association, and served as secretary for 18 years of the Louisville Education Association. While a member of the First Nazarene Church in Canton, she directed the children's choir and served in the \Clown Ministry.\Melanie was a gifted musician who played the Church Pipe Organ, Piano, French Horn and Flute. She also enjoyed ce ramics, painting and all types of music. In recent years, she discovered the joys of fishing with her husband. She is survived by her devoted husband Richard; father and stepmother, George and Alice King of Canton; stepdaughter, April Fisher; stepson, Eric Fisher. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Jean King; grandparents, Jim and Gladys Saddler, Fred and Jeanette King and great-grandparents, Frank and Grace Mitzel. Funeral services will be Monday 1:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton with Rev. Ken Moody-Arndt officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery in Paris, Ohio. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton and one half hour prior to the service at the church (12:30-1:00p.m.).

Anthony M. Marks
Anthony (Tony) M. Marks, age 74, of Canton, OH, passed away Friday morning at home in the arms of his loving wife, Donna (Newell) Marks and all of his family, following a seven month illness with liver cancer. Tony's wish is to write his own obituary. I was born October 1, 1927 in Providence, RI to the late Louis and Georgianna (Mello) Marks of Acushnet, MA. I've lived in the East Canton, Louisville, Canton, OH area for over 50 years. I retired from Wean United Engineering Co. after 35 years. I served my country with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific on a hospital ship. I loved my music and played all over Stark County, most recently in bluegrass with several bluegrass friends and at bluegrass festivals. I'm leaving behind my love of music to be carried on by all of you. I'm leaving my most precious, devoted, friend and dearest companion, my loving wife of 38 beautiful years together, Donna Marks. My most precious and loving children: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Dale Bosler of East Canton, Donald L. and Karen Bosler of Natick, MA; four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Sue (Bosler) Nieschwitz of East Canton, Mary Jane (Bosler) and Greg Tack of Louisville; Russanna Marks of Canton, Nancy Jo (Bosler) and Ron Roberts of East Canton; 15 grandchildren, Greg (Theresa) Tack, Valerie (Roger) McPhillen, Zach (Ginger) Bosler, Rebecca J. Tack, all of Louisville, Angela (Eric) Burkett of Alliance, Chris Bosler of Houston, TX, Amy (Erik) Coldwell of Upton, MA, Adam Lee Bosler of Natick, MA, Eric (Rhonda) Tack, Toni (Carlos) Encarnacion, Brad (Kristen) Roberts, all of Canton, Levi B. Roberts, Lucas A. Roberts of East Canton, Jeremiah Bosler and Joeyann Bosler of Wooster; nine-great-grandchildren, Alan Tack, Amanda and Kati McPhillen, Isabelle Bosler, all of Louisville, Alex and Josh Burkett of Alliance, Michal and Jessie Tack, Bradley Roberts, Jr. of Canton. Besides my family, I leave behind my sister, Alice Pacheco, my nephew, Steve Pacheco, my two nieces, Ann Pacheco and Diane (John) Fernandez, all of Massachusetts. My brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many step-nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. Besides my parents, I had an infant daughter and an adopted son precede me in death. In lieu of flowers, your memorial contributions, I ask you give to my wife, Donna to help her with her financial needs. My wishes are to be cremated and my remains taken care of by my wife, Donna Marks. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Paul Rudy, Aultman Hospice chaplain officiating. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. and one hour before the funeral on Monday. The family wishes to thank Aultman Hospice staff, nurses and especially Chaplain Paul Rudy. Everyone's prayers, cards and flowers meant so much to Tony. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Carol J. Ripple
Carol J. Ripple (nee Clay), passed away on July 22, 2002, joining her father, Arvin, mother, Jeanette, and sister, Jedidah. She is survived by her husband, Richard; sisters, Judith Klemens and Linda Geier; brothers, Arvin, Robert, Donald, Dennis, Jon, Ronald, Michael; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She served in the U.S. Army for ten years and was in Desert Storm. She was a nurse and was working in the Akron area. A private memorial service will be held for relatives and invited guests only.
