Jesse Eugene Lile
Hope has been defined as, "someone on which expectations are centered."
Jesse Lile was a man who lived his life with the hopeful expectation of the day he would meet his Father God, His Savior Jesus and His Counselor the Holy Spirit. On April 16, 2004, at the age of 76, Jesse's hope became a reality.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter, Lorraine Lemasters (Vance) ; sons, Paul (Janis), John (Karen), Tim (Peggy), Phil (Cindy), Jim (Jennifer); 21 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 4 siblings and innumerable family members and friends.
He retired from Firestone after 36 years of service and from Award Fund Raising, where he was affectionately known as "Dad Lile."
Jesse will be remembered for the integrity and character with which he lived his entire life. However, those who knew him best would agree that his gaze was centered on Heaven, and there is no doubt that is where he is today. He is remembered for being a hard worker, the wonderful meals he prepared (including his famous "Jesse Burgers"), how he was an example to many and how he was never biased in his love, but loved everyone without condition. The greatest testimony of this love was that which he showed to his "sweetie-pie," with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on Monday-- the day of the funeral. It is said that the legacy of a man depends on the memories of those who loved him most. The truth of this statement assures that the legacy of this one man will continue for many generations. He will live on in our hearts as we heed the wisdom with which he always encouraged us from Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Brown St. Baptist Church, 541 Brown St., Akron. Pastor Robert Kuhns officiating.
