Chester A. Myers
Chester A. Myers age 84 of Canton passed away Friday morning in the Hanover House. Born in Johnstown, PA on July 23, 1917 he was a retired employee of the U. S. Steel Corp., retiring after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Whipple Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester F. and O'Tillie Myers; a sister, Florence Rollbuchler; a brother, Robert Myers; his wife of 54 years, Edna Mae Myers, who passed away May 14, 2000. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, C. Daniel and Norma Myers of North Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Earl Weaver of Holmesville, OH; three grandchildren, Allyson Myers, Josi Weaver-Kranz and Justin Weaver; great granddaughter, Hailee Weaver; his brother, John Myers of Johnstown, PA. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Whipple Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Todd Sovine officiating. There will be calling hours at the church one hour before the services Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. A private burial will be held Wednesday in Sunset Hills Burial Park. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Whipple Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 4900 12th St NW, Canton, OH.

D. Eileen Smith
D. Eileen Smith, age 73, of Louisville, passed away July 4th at St. Joseph Care Center after an extended illness. She was retired from Louisville High School where she taught physical education and coached girls athletics. Eileen was a member of Louisville Chapter #400, O.E.S., and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and was active in Senior Olympics. Survivors include her husband, Denver L. Smith; a daughter, Anna (Mrs. Tony) Kanis of Avon Lake; two grandchildren, Gregory and Christine Kanis; and three sisters. There will be no calling horus. At her request, her body has been cremated. Internment will be in West Virginia. Those desiring to memorialize Eileen may do so by sending a contribution to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc. 1501 NW 9th Ave. Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.

Dale Adams
Dale Adams, age 56, died peacefully at his home on Jewett-Scio Rd., Jewett, Thursday, July 4, 2002. Born April 5, 1946, in Newark, he was the son of Marjorie DeLong Adams of Copeland Oaks in Sebring and the late James T. Adams. He attended Newark High School until the 11th grade then graduated from Glenwood High School, Canton, in 1964. He continued his education at the Kent State Stark Campus and was a self-employed contractor. Dale was a member of the North Canton Church of Christ. He attended numerous Bible studies and enjoyed reading scripture. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Loraine Waltz Adams, whom he married Nov. 8, 1966; two daughters, Ty Stinespring of Cadiz and April Bradford of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Roman and Isaiah Stinespring and Ariel Bradford; a sister, Beth Rinehart of Malvern. Preceding him in death is a brother, David Adams. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at 6 p.m. in North Canton Church of Christ, 1301 E. Maple St., North Canton, with Pastors Ted Blackwood and Steve Wilsford officiating. In lie of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation or the Parkinsons Assoc. Koch Funeral Home, Scio, is handling the arrangements.

Dennis A. Valentine
Dennis A. Valentine, age 25 of Massillon, died Thursday in Massillon. Dennis was born November 30, 1976 in Massillon to Jerry Valentine Jan (Rutter) Valentine. He has been a life resident of Massillon. Dennis was employed by Apollo Roofing and a member of Roofers Local #88. A brother, William A. Valentine, preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by mother and step-father, Jan and Ken Smith of Dalton; father and step-mother, Jerry and Leslee Valentine of Massillon; brother, Keith Valentine of Massillon; half-sister, Lindsay Valentine of Massillon; grandmother, Lillian Rutter of Dalton; grandparents, Ruth and Cliff Lowe of Massillon; grandmother, Lois Lanzer of Massillon. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, the Rev. Scott Wellin will officiate. Burial will be at Sixteen Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Gladys Trump
Gladys (McDanel) (Trump) Crowl age 88, formerly of Canton and Cape Coral, FL and more recently of Vonore, TN, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 in Tennessee following an extended illness. Born September 26, 1913 in Waynesburg, OH to the late Melvin and Lucy McDannel. She was a former member of Martin Lutheran Church and Our Saviour Lutheran Church and was a former receptionist at the Canton YWCA. Preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Trump; second husband, Ralph Crowl; one brother, Kenneth McDannel; two great grandchildren, Darlene and Gracie Strader. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Michael Todd of Vonore, TN and Ruth and Marvin Hileman of Beaver Creek, OH; six grandchildren and their spouses, Carolyn and Dan VanVoorhis, Diane Spencer, Lisa and Tom Boyd, Deborah and David Temple all of Dayton, OH, Christopher and Irene Todd of Charlston, SC, Andrew and Lauren Todd of Basalt, CO; 11 great grandchildren also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Hileman officiating. Burial will be in Mapelton Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home one hour prior to services from 12 noon -1 p.m.

Jerald S. Jolliff
Jerald S. Jolliff, age 35, of Jupiter, FL, passed away Monday, July 1, 2002 at his residence. Born in North Canton, OH, he had been a resident of Jupiter for five years, coming from Palm Beach Gardens. He was a 1985 graduate of Jackson High School in Massillon and attended Ohio State University. For the past 13 years he was a control room operator for McDermott Corp. Inc. in West Palm Beach. He was baptized in Jackson Christian Church in Massillon and loved boating, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Brenda B. Jolliff of Jupiter; his parents, Charles and Barbara Jolliff of Palm Coast, FL; his brother, David Jolliff of Chicago, IL; his sister, Paula Lab of Massillon; his mother-in-law, Zella Bradshaw of Alliance; sister-in-law, Teralee Zellers of Hartville, OH; brother-in-law, Rod Bradshaw of Jupiter and several nieces A memorial service will be held Monday, July 8, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Aycock Funeral Home, Jupiter, FL. Friends may call Sunday 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Animal Rescue, 185 E. Indiantown, Jupiter, FL 33477.

Leanne E. Frank
Leanne E. Frank, age 60, of Louisville, passed away Friday, July 5, 2002 at Brewster Convalescent Center after an extended illness. A lifetime resident of the Canton area. She was a retired employee of the Peoples Development Services. A member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Card Club for 23 years, and she enjoyed baking. Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sharp and Elizabeth (Vrabel) Sharp Schmitt. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cathy Frank of Perry Twp., Scott and Jennifer Frank of Wisconsin; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Doug Daniluk of Twinsburg; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Frank of Plain Twp., Lauren Frank of Wisconsin, Kyle and Katelyn Daniluk both of Twinsburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul G. and Evelyn Sharp of Perry Twp., Raymond and Cheryl Sharp of Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Kevin Fete. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.

Margaret T. Terse
Margaret T. Terse, age 83, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon in The Pines. She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Tony and Helen Bliss Navarra, and had been a Canton resident over 60 years. She was a member of Faith Community Church in Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, Dominick F. Terse, on April 2, 2000, two infant children, Mary Grace and Dominick Terse, Jr., one brother, Tony Navarra, Jr. and one sister, Grace Broucher. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rose Ann and David Monnot, of Canton; one granddaughter, Amanda Monnot, of McConnellsville, PA; six sisters, Mrs. Elvira Acerbi, Mrs. Gloria Howell, Mrs. Fred (Katherine) DiMinno, Sr., Mrs. Annie Brechbuhler, and Mrs. Louis (Loretta) Trilli, all of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Louise Cinson, of Malvern; two very devoted sisters-in-law, Adeline Mazzarella and Mary Franyish, both of Canton. Services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Dale Boston officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the services on Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at The Pines for their special care.

Paul A. Fankhauser
Paul A. Fankhauser, 77, passed away July 4, 2002. He was born November 20, 1924 in Powhatan Point, OH, and graduated from Powhatan Point High School. He served his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the Army in both Germany and Japan. Paul was employed by Fruehauf Trailer Mfg. Co. as a Sales Manager for over forty years. He served his community as a Uniontown Volunteer Fireman, was a member of the Uniontown Lions Club, where he served as president and headed the Uniontown Lions Follies for several years (Tubby His Tub), served as Little League Coach, was a member of Powhatan Point's Masonic Lodge, Past Worthy Patron of Ellestar #565 Eastern Star. He was an avid square dancer belonging to several square dance clubs. Paul was a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church. He was very proud of his entire family. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Grace Fankhauser, he is survived by his wife, Eva June Stepp Fankhauser: son, Richard (Kathy); daughters, Nancy (George) Geier and Debbi (Rick) Fritz; step-children, Duane (Faith) Stepp, David (Pamela) Stepp, Douglas (Kathy) Stepp, Jennifer (Douglas) Sackinger and Bruce Stepp; sisters, Mary Louise Given, twin-sister, Dora (Sam) Trotta, Alberta Stinnett, Norma Black and brother, Albert (Eleanor); eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown where funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Gindlesberger and Rev. Orion Aubil officiating. Interment in Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Lakemore United Methodist Church.

Robert R. Sanders
Robert R. Sanders, age 58, of Canton, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 in his home following an extended illness. Born July 13, 1943 to Robert T. and Wauldine A. (Fite) Sanders. He was a life resident of the Canton area, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1961. He attended Ohio State University and a graduate of Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1964, He was the owner/operator of Kreighbaum-Sanders and Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes for 30 years and was a licensed funeral director for 38 years. Life member of the 38th St. Church of Christ , where he was a former Deacon. Member and past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Assoc., District 16, charter member and past president of the Canton South Rotary Club, member of the Canton South Lions Club for 30 years and the Lincoln Alumni, Emeritus Trustee of Canton South YMCA and past Trustee of the Canton area YMCA. Recipient of the YMCA Central Stark County Red Triangle Award and a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. Preceded in death by his father, Robert T. Sanders; his stepfather, Arthur Flinn. Survived by his wife, Bonnie J. (Riley) Sanders to whom he was married 40 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, R. Scott and Julie Sanders of East Canton, Randall J. and Heidi Sanders of Bolivar; daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Mark Martin of Canton; five grandsons, Chase, Brock, Drew, Adam and Jack Sanders; mother Wauldine A. Flinn of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Ronnie Woods of Navarre; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Jodi Flinn of Canton. Funeral services will be Monday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the 38th St. Church of Christ, 3904 38th St. NW, Canton, OH 44718 with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before the services at the church (9:30-10:30 a.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canton South Rotary Scholarship Fund or the Canton South YMCA Partnership for Youth , 309 45th St. SW, Canton, OH 44706. The family would sincerely like to thank the Aultman Hospice program for their exceptional care and attention.

Thelma M. Deering
Thelma M. Deering, born Dec. 21, 1921, died July 5, 2002. Thelma was born and raised on the family farm in Granger, IA. She and her husband, Elman were married 55 years and raised their four children in Ohio. Summers were always spent on her beloved farm in Iowa. She retired from the fine jewelry department of Kaufmann's in 1997. She was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her son, Shawn Hotchkiss Deering; parents, Frank and Pearl Hotchkiss; sister, Cheryl Bailey Cross; brother, Russell Hotchkiss. She is survived by her husband, Elman Thomas Deering whom she married on June 14, 1947; daughter and son-in-law, Gemma and Tony Giannantonio of North Canton, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kay Deering of Hartville, OH; son, Leon Deering of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Wendy Tracy and T.J. Giannantonio of Canton, OH, Andrew, Nicholas and Joseph Deering of Hartville, OH. Services will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Raymond Kovach officiating. Interment in Lincoln Cemetery, Granger, IA. Friends may call Sunday 6 p.m. until the time of service. The numerous cards and calls from her family and friends were deeply appreciated.

William E. McGeorge
William E. Bill McGeorge. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bergholz Cemetery. William P. Gough
William P. Gough, 77, passed away July 4, 2002. Born in Akron, Mr. Gough lived in the area all of his life and was self employed as an accountant. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, where he was a POW and earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of Mogadore VFW and enjoyed bowling and golfing in his spare time. Preceded in death by his wife, Kay in 1987, mother and father, Edward and Anne Gough; brothers, Joseph and Edward; and sister, Della Holman. He is survived by sons, Larry M. (Juanita) of Ravenna, Raymond P. of Mogadore, and Steven E. (Deborah) of Mogadore; grandchildren, Patrick, Kimi, Susen, Dennis, Lee, Brent (B.J.) and Aubrey; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Austin; sister, Edith (Glenn) Switzer of Canton; and friends, Grace Pizzute and Betty Sanko. Memorial service Monday, 2 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, with Rev. G. Rod Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time Monday. Procession to Hillside Memorial Park will follow the service where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post 8487.
