Michael Craig Hill, age 15, of 122 Williamson Farm Rd., died Saturday, June 29. Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 1 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Olive, NC. Survived by parents, Darlene W. and Donald E. Britt of the home, and Bruce Allen Hill, Jr. of Texas; sister, Brianna Britt and brothers, Johnathan Britt and Matthew Britt, all of the home; grandparents, Edna H. Wilda Elizabeth Simons
Wilda Elizabeth Simons, age 96 of Sebring, died at 12:45 a.m. July 1, 2002 at Crandall Medical Center. She was the wife of Shafter Artie \Cy\Simons, who preceded her in death on January 18, 1994. She is survived by one son Merlin (Ann) Simons of Reno Nevada, two daughters; Lois (Dwight) Bush of Homeworth, Ohio and Towanda (Harold) Emmons of Punta Gorda, Florida, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. William H. Riley, Jr.
William H. Riley, Jr., age 76, of 5037 Pillar Rd. SW, Carrollton, OH, died Monday, July 1, 2002 in Aultman Hospital, Canton, OH, following a brief illness. He was born on September 7, 1925, in Akron, OH. He was the son of the late William H. and Bertha A. (Savage) Riley, Sr. He retired from the Timken Co. after 30 years of service as a mechanic. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Pauline Riley) Davis of Carrollton; one sister-in-law, Mrs. George (Ruth Antram) Riley of Sunnyvale, CA; 13 nieces and nephews including, John H. Davis, Larry L. Davis, Carol A. Davis, Linda P. Davis all of Carrollton, Donald A. Davis of N. Canton, OH, Robert S. Davis of Rocky River, OH, Bill Riley and Julie (Riley) Gula formerly of Canton, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Allmon-Dugger Hively Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastor Wayne Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the American Legion, VFW and the DAV. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Zoe Ann Cloud
Zoe Ann Cloud, was stillborn to Brandy Nicole Cloud at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, June 29th at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Zoe is survived by he mother of Canton; maternal grandfather, Larry Cloud of Lisbon; maternal grandmother, Pam Waller of Lisbon; great-grandmothers, Linda Cloud of Lisbon and Hazel Pugh of Minerva; and great-great-grandmother, Dorothy Pugh of Minerva; aunts, Ashley Cloud of Canton, Kimberly Strabala of Salineville, and Nancy Brown of Salem; and an uncle, Joshua Dent of Lisbon. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel at Aultman Hospital with Pastor Gary Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weber Funeral Home.
Mary Micciche
Mary (Louise) Micciche, age 85, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at St. Joseph Care Center. She was born in Dover, OH, on May 15, 1917, to the late Peter and Lou Lab. Louise was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was retired from Danner Press and Kiko Agency. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Micciche in 1972; her brother, Cornelius (Bud) Lab; her daughter, Anne Micciche and her grandson, Joe Cotyk. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Carmel Masters of Massillon and Mary Lou and Earl Wolfe of Louisville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Rose Micciche of Canton and Phillip and Linda Micciche of North Canton; seven grandchildren, Jeff Masters, Edward (Azam) Jordan, Michael (Alisa) Cotyk, Joe (Susana) Micciche, Laura (Gary) Micciche Weissman, Matt and Chris Micciche; six great-grandchildren, Jill and Kari Masters, Daniel and Jacob Jordan, Michael and Courtney Cotyk. Also survived by two sisters, Teresa Battista of Canton and Peg Price of Sherrodsville; brother, Ivor (Josephine) Lab of Dover; and by special daughter and her husband, Donna and Bob James, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Louise loved music, playing accordian or guitar and singing with her husband at family gatherings. She was an excellent Italian cook and loved having the entire family for Holiday dinners. It was her wish to be cremated, with interment at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, from 9-10 a.m. at ALL SAINTS CHURCH at 1386 Henry Ave. SW, Canton, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Bishop officiating, after which the family invites relatives and friends to join them for Luncheon in a Celebration of Louise's Life at All Saints Church Hall immediately after Mass.
Evelyn M. Scoville
Evelyn Marie Scoville, age 82, of North Canton, died Friday, June 28, 2002, in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born Oct. 19, 1919, in Washington, PA, to the late George and Thelma Battin. She was a member of the Canton Chapter #190 Order of Eastern Star. Preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph F. Scoville on Dec. 28, 2000, with whom she had celebrated 64 years of marriage; one sister, Virginia Clark; one nephew, Carl Clark. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Fredrick and Myrna Scoville of North Canton, Marvin and Diane Scoville of Plantation, FL and Theodore and Carol Ann Scoville of North Canton; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Tuesday 7-9 p.m. with Eastern Star services being conducted at 6:45 p.m.
Wendell L. Brown
Wendell L. Brown, age 65, of Canton, passed away Saturday morning following an extended illness at Aultman Hospital E.R. Born in Red Boiling Springs, TN, to the late Kurgis and Bessie (Austin) Brown. He worked at the Timken Co. for 37 years in the Gauging Department as a size gauger. He is preceded in death by five brothers, James, Lowell, J.T., Harold and Roy Brown. Survivors include one brother, Harley Brown of Red Boiling Springs, TN, three sisters, Ruby Davenport of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Jesse Birdwell of Celina, TN, Delma Bonnell of Luna Pier, MI; one daughter, Drenda Hockley of Red Boiling Springs, TN; four sons, Randy, Steve, Richard and Brian Brown all of Canton; four great-grandsons, Brian Brown II, Michael Bebout, Kevin Hockley, Ryan Justin Murphy, all of Canton; many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Wednesday 2:30 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Wild officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. The family would like to pay special thanks and appreciation, for the love and support Wendell received by many friends and employees at the Friendly Corner.
Kathleen Beard
Kathleen Beard, age 83, of Canton passed away Friday evening at Hospice Care Center in Copley, OH. Kathleen was born February 26, 1919 in Massillon to the late William and Ethel A. (Gutheri) McGlynchey. She lived in Massillon-Canton area all of her life. Kathleen was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School and was employed by Ohio Bell. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon. In addition to her parents, her husband Paul Beard passed away in Sept. 2000; a sister, Mary Earl; and two brothers, Robert McGlynchey and John McGlynchey (June 5, 2002); and a granddaughter, Tamara Kiko. She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Roger (Shelia) Guimond of Belgrade, ME, Mrs. Mark (Karen) Lebel of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Jane McGlynchey of Folsom, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Kathleen's Memory to the Hospice Care Center in Copley.
