Albert E. White
Albert E. White, age 82, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2002 in Aultman Hospital following a recent illness. Al was born August 27, 1919, in Oella, Maryland to the late John and Agnes (Becraft) White. He was a former accountant for Mack Trucks and an army veteran of World War II, where he held the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the VFW, AARP and attended St. Lois Catholic Church in Louisville. Al leaves behind two sisters, Gladys Reeves and Hazel Hoffman both of Maryland; and his companion, Marjorie Kilkenny of Louisville. Family and friends will gather Monday 2-4 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville to celebrate Al's life and to share his memory.
Albert J. Severini
Albert J. Severini, age 68 of Navarre passed away Sunday June 9th at Massillon Community Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1934 in Massillon to the late, Peter and Anna (Corona) Severini. He graduated from Brewster High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was employed with Norfolk Western Railroad. He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, the American Legion, V.F.W. Post in Navarre, Moose, Buckeye Club and the Navarre Farm Game Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Augustine Severini and Lawrence Severini. He is survived by Shirley G. Severini who was his wife of 40 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Thomas Brothers of Beach City, Lisa Donald Koehler of Massillon; son, Michael Severini of Indiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor Michael Creme of Akron, Doris Frank Frastaci of Parma; four grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Fr. Kaylor officiating. Interment was at St. Clements Cemetery in Navarre. Visitation was held Thursday June 13th at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Navarre.
Dana Ray Bugh
Dana Ray Bugh, age 53, of Canton, died Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born January 9, 1949, in Canton, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the VFW. Preceded in death by his father, Ray Bugh. Survivors include his mother, Maxine Bugh of the home and one sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and John Sherrow of Canton. There will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time.
Elsie M. Hall
Elsie M. (Peggy) Hall, 101, of Canton, died Friday morning in The Inn at Medina. Born September 21, 1900, in Ontario, Canada. She had resided in Canton since 1923. Mrs. Hall was a charter and honorary member of Stark County Medical Auxiliary; member of the American and Ohio State Medical Associations. She started a nurses scholarship in 1937 which continues to this date. Peggy was a graduate of the Cleveland City Hospital (Metro Health Medical Center) School of Nursing in 1922. She was a life member of the Quarter Century and Alumnae Associations; honorary member of the Canton Women's Club; a member of the Contract Bridge Secture. She served on the philanthropic committee for several years. She was the first treasurer of the Afternoon Garden Club; a life member of the Garden Club of Ohio; former honorary member of Canton Sorosis and parliamentarian for more than 26 years; past president of former Canton Sorosis Book Club; past president of Canton Ladies Club and a member for over 60 years; former member of the National and Ohio Associations of Parliamentarians; charter member of Canton Audubon Society and Stark County Wilderness Center; life member of Emerald Court 33, Massillon, OH. She taught home nursing and first aid for the Red Cross during World War II. Former member of the Mental Health of Stark County and the American Contract Bridge League; charter member of AARP #316; auxiliary member of Canton Christian Home since the beginning; life member of the Historical Society, Hiram, OH; member of the MacDowell Club; Canton Preservation Society; Canton Civic Opera; Keenagers of the First Christian Church; Friends of the Library and Friends of the Arts; also a member of the Retired Nurses. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R. E. Hall and a sister, Belle. Survived by one son, Robert E. Hall, Jr. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 710 Tuscarawas St. W., with Pastor Dennis Murawski officiating. Private interment in Fairview Cemetery, Hiram, OH. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Senior Ministry Fund, 1377 Lester Rd., Valley City, OH 44280.
George C. Beck
George C. Beck, age 88, Friday, June 28, 2002, in Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He retired from Teamsters Local #413. Preceded in death by wife, Mary Ruth. Survived by nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Visitation Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home, 1068 South High St., where funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Harvey G. Bradley
Harvey G. Bradley, born 1919 passed away June 28, 2002 in Montgomery Veterans Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Luverne, AL and was a World War II veteran. He lived in Canton five years and was employed at Republic Steel Corp. Harvey returned to Luverne, AL and resided there until his death. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Bradley and seven brothers, Johnnie L., Willie J., Guss U., Ciscero H., William H., Osborne G. and Milton L. and one sister, Sudie B. Kolb. Harvey is survived by daughter, Jean Wolfort and five grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth (Vernon) Bivings, Ann (Charles) Chapman Margie (Charles) Atkins and Totsie (Eulie) Glenn; sisters-in-law, Viola and Lola Bradley; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Funeral to be held in Luverne, AL at 2 p.m. at Luverne Church of Christ, July 3, 2002.

James E. Campbell
James E. 'Jim' Campbell, 66, of Pensacola, died Wednesday June 26, 2002. Jim was born in East Brewton, AL on October 12, 1935 and has resided in Pensacola (Ensley) since 1975
after living in Canton/Massillion, Ohio from 1967 to 1975. Mr. Campbell resided in New Bedford/Springfield, MA from 1956 to 1967 where he finished high school and completed his Associate Degree at Springfield. Jim honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict \the forgotten war\from April 1953 to October 1956. A kid of 17, became a man of 21 in battle. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Korean Service and United Nations Service Medals. Mr. Campbell was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, of Pensacola. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 706), member of the American Legion (Post 340), receiving numerous awards and certificates while serving on the Executive Committee and as Building Chairman (1989-1991). Jim was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie (Lodge 3483). Jim retired from the Escambia County School District working faithfully from 1975, until a stroke put him on disability retirement in 1993. Mr. Campbell is survived by his daughters: Cynthia Ann 'Cindy' Campbell, of Canton, OH, and Leanne Przybyla, of Fall River, MA and His sons, James M. Campbell, of New Bedford, MA and Steven D. Campbell, of Daytona Beach, FL. A granddaughter, Leanne Hill, a grandson, Joe Silva, great grandson, Jonathan James Hill, all of Manchester, New Hampshire, a brother George Campbell, of Milton, FL and sisters: Barbara Airhart, of Beach City, OH, Karen Kelly, of Cantonment, FL and Patricia Murray of Bedford, VA, eleven nieces and five nephews his Aunt Ruby Raye Harrelson, of Ensley, FL and last but certainly not least, Ruth Churchill, of Pensacola, a very loved friend also survive Jim. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon Monday July 1, 2002 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. John V. Burgess
John V. Burgess, age 75, of Navarre died Saturday, June 29, 2002 following a brief illness. Son of the late George Washington and Ethel (Knight) Burgess. He is retired from the Canton Supply Company and was a WWII Army veteran. He is also preceded in death by one brother, George W. Burgess. He is survived by one son, John Burgess. A private family service will be in Liberty Cemetery. The Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton is in charge of arrangements.

Katie Marie Phillips, three and half month old infant daughter of Bryan and Julie (Lauer) Phillips of Canton, passed away Friday, June 28, 2002. Katie was born in Canton on March 5, 2002. Preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Nickolas Lauer and paternal great-grandparents, Mathew Conroy and Robert and Mary Ann Phillips. In addition to her parents, Bryan and Julie Katie is survived by her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lu Ann Lauer, paternal grandparents, Bob and Penny Phillips of Beach City, maternal great-grandparents, Alice Lauer of Ft. Myers, FL and Louis and Lois Feasel of Kansas, OH and paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Conroy of Beach City; uncles and aunts, Adam and Jessica Lauer, Nickolas and Jennifer Lauer, Joseph Lauer and Bob Phillips, all of Canton and her cousins, Taylor, Kiara and Brooke Lauer. Margaret L. Phillips
Margaret L. Phillips, age 87, of Canton, died Saturday in her home following a brief illness. She was born on May 27, 1915 in Yorkville, OH, to the late John and Irene (Szokei) Shandor Sr. She was a life resident of the Canton area and member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Phillips in 1994, two brothers and four sisters. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Bob Welker of Canton; three grandsons, Kevin Welker of Canton, Todd Welker of Spotsylvania, VA, Craig Welker of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Sue Kintz of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Kenneth D. Scheck officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Marie Frances Lynch
Marie Frances Lynch, age 94, passed away May 29, 2002 in Alameda, CA. She was born in Canton to the late Josephine and Joseph Naegellan. Before marrying and moving to California, Marie worked for Stern and Mann's in Canton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lynch; three sisters, Elizabeth, Josephine, and Lillian; and one brother, Victor. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Carol Lynch; a daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Richard Hove; grandchildren, Lindsey Lynch, Ben Lynch and Eric Hove all of California; and a granddaughter, Emily Hove of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by her sister, Genevieve Moeglin of Canton. A Memorial Mass was celebrated June 13, 2002 at her home parish, St. Jarlath's in Oakland, California.

Mary Ellen Hoffman
Mary Ellen Hoffman, age 74, of Massillon, died Friday, June 28, 2002, at Massillon Community Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born February 23, 1928, in Massillon, and remained a lifetime resident. She had been owner and operator of Hoffman Toy Variety Store for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an avid reader. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gerald C. Hoffman of Massillon; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald G. and Patty Hoffman of Massillon; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marsha Smith of Massillon and Susan and Chris Romar of Canal Fulton; and three grandsons, Gerald Hoffman, John Hoffman and Matthew Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Leah (Ferrell) Smith, one brother, Russell Smith and a granddaughter, Maureen Romar.
