Larry J. Kurtz, 76, went home to be with family members, parents, Ralph and Kathleen Kurtz; daughter-in-law, Joette; grandson, Joseph; brothers, Norbert and Thomas on December 9, 2005. He was born July 22, 1929 in Chicago, IL. He worked as a counselor and Director of Admissions for Interval Brotherhood Home, was a member of St. Francis De Sales Church, and was an active member of A.A. for 44 years.
Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean; sons, John Dale, Gary, Ron (Linda), and Gregory (Diane); daughter, Suzanne (Gayle) Meffert; brother, Donald (Pat) Kurtz; sisters, Joan Moffet, Mary (Donald) Norton, and Alice Walant; 13 loving grandchildren and eight loving great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Church. Laura M. Archer (Fassnacht)
Laura M. Archer, 46, passed away ¬December 19, 2007. She was born January 8, 1961 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. and lived in the area all her life.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Charles Fassnacht. She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Bob; daughter, Rachell Drayer; mother, Alice Fassnacht; brother, Chuck (Gazelle) Fassnacht; sister, Becky Schuler; brothers and sisters in law, Larry (Sue)Maxwell, Julie Archer (Jim), Pam(Paul)Kyser; nieces and nephews, Susan, Sierra, Justin, Alexis, Shaun, Shauna, Chelsea, Skyler, and Brady.

Louis M. Domico Jr. (Lou)
Louis M. Domico Jr. (Lou), 67, passed away unexpectedly January 20, 2008. He was born January 19, 1941 in Akron to the late Louis and Antoinette Domico. He worked at Ornamental Iron Works for over 30 years and eventually retired from Oliger Seed. Lou enjoyed fishing, cooking, e-mailing, shopping for a bargain, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family. He loved to stay in contact with everyone, by e-mailing jokes or calling on the phone. He was known for his Domico Christmas Raviolis and loved to share the tradition with his family.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Domico; sister, Rosemarie Rosignoli; grandson, Johnny Barrett; and his special companion, Loboy. Along with many friends, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda; son, Tony Domico (Gina) of Lake Worth, Florida; four daughters, Angie Blackert (Jim) of Doylestown, Antoinette Jo Seymour (Dan) of Norton, Stacy Barrett (John) of Akron, and Audra Swanson (Donell) of Newport, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brandi, Tony, Christina, Matt, Brandon, Josh, Donell, Aron, Kalie, Bradley, Eric; great-granddaughter, Hallie; and special nephews, Greg (Pam) and Jason Domico.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the New Franklin and Clinton Firefighters and the entire Emergency Room staff of Barberton Citizens Hospital.

Louise Lena Dalton (nee Butcher)
Louise Lena Dalton, a lifetime resident of Ohio, passed away March 13, 2008. Tending her flower gardens was a favorite past-time after retiring from the M. O’Neil Co. with 25 years of service as the Art Director in the Advertising Dept. She also enjoyed flying and earned her pilot’s license prior to earning her driver’s license. She inspired her granddaughter to pursue a career as a pilot.
Louise was the beloved wife of the late Charles W.; dear mother of her devoted sons, Edwin (Sandy) of Green and Ronald (Nancy) of Coventry; grandmother to David of PA, Suzanne of Bath, Thomas of VA, Robert of Green, and Scott Dalton of Barberton; great-grandmother to Sean, Kylie, Kaitlyn, and Kendall; sister of Betty Hite of Barberton and Evelyn Bailey of Fairlawn; and aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Barberton Citizens Hospital, Pleasant Point Assisted Living, and Pleasant View Nursing Home for their loving care during her final days.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park with Rev. Charles Mills officiating.
Lucille Hartley
Lucille Hartley, 97, of Kenmore went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Lucille was born March 22, 1910 and passed away March 9, 2008. She was born in Barberton, Ohio to Frederick and Rose Groff. Lucille and her husband Eddie enjoyed traveling during their time together and she enjoyed baking cherry pies for her son, Jim. She and Eddie attended the Akron Baptist Temple and were members of the Golden Agers.
Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Eddie in 1988; daughter-in-laws Johanne and Marsha; sister, Betty Kukla; brothers, Charles, Lawrence and Woodrow Groff.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Marilyn) Hartley of Mogadore and Jim Hartley of Norton; brother-in-law, Clayton Hartley; brothers, Russell and Leroy (Ann) Groff; sister, Jeannine Johnston; grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Fedor, Lorri Hartley, Charles Hartley, Ronald Hartley, Kim (Jim) Scanlan, Krista Hartley and Kathy Hartley; great-grandchildren, Gregory (Lisa) Fedor, Nicholas (Michelle) Fedor, Charles E. Hartley III, Holly Hartley, Kathryn (Daniel) Weese, Jeremy Lee Hartley, Samantha Hartley, Bart Hartley, Ronnie Hartley and Daniel Hartley; great-great-grandchildren, Evander and Emory Fedor.

Margaret B. Haney
Margaret B. Haney, 93, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2008. She was born March 4, 1914 in Dante, Virginia. She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in 1970 and was a member of Akron Baptist Temple. She loved raising flowers and caring for her poodle, Zoe.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Birynyi; husband of 52 years, Woodrow D. Haney; brother, Barney Birynyi; and sister, Annie Naggy. She is survived by her daughters, Audrey (Joseph) Humphrey of Atwater and Sandra (Rev. Samuel) Delaney of Alabama; sisters, Elizabeth Elko, and Julie (Joe) Dominio, both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Samuel and Daniel Delaney.

Marsha R. Hartley
NORTON - Marsha Rae Hartley (nee Morris) 67, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on February 7, 2006 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born on September 2, 1938 to Chester and Sara Morris in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Marsha worked for Sears retiring after 25 years of faithful service. She loved to cook, bowl and work in her flower garden and was also an avid reader. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and her kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Marsha was preceded in death by father, Chester Morris; grandmother, Margarite McGonigal and father-in-law, Charles E. Hartley. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jim; daughters, Kim (James) Scanlan of Wadsworth, Krista Hartley of Glendale, Arizona and Kathy Hartley of Norton; granddaughter, Katie Scanlan; grandson, Jeremy Hartley; mother, Sara Morris of Kenmore; sister, Julie (Donald) Campbell of Barberton; brother, Philip (Ella) Morris of Baldwin Park, CA; mother-in-law, Lucille Hartley; brother-in-law, Ronald (Marilyn) Hartley of Mogadore and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Mary Belle Beatrice Sponseller
Akron, Ohio - Mary Belle Beatrice Sponseller, 91, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2006, at her son’s home in Evansville, Indiana. Beatrice was a member of the Celebration Temple in Akron, Ohio, the Manchester Garden Club and the Medina Gem Club. She attended First Presbyterian Church.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Sponseller; son, James Merritt Sponseller; and two brothers, Perry Theo Miller and Jack Miller.
Beatrice is survived by her son, David Sponseller and his wife, Dr. Helen Sponseller of Evansville, IN; daughters, Nancy Irene Sponseller-Sanicky and her husband, Bill of Clinton, Ohio, and Mary Thompson and her husband, Bill of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Kay Miller of Ravenna, Ohio and Elaine Sarver of Florida; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Millicent Sabo
Millicent C. Sabo (nee Wright), 80, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2008.
She was born December 22, 1927 in Rittman, Ohio to Carroll and Aline Wright. Millicent was employed with Mobile Meals for over 20 years and was a dedicated and faithful worker. She loved and admired her family and was a precious wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ruth Savage and Harrietta Hothem. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, James; daughters, Krista Sabo and Rochelle (Paul) DeWitt; grandson, James C. Dobbs; brother, Charles Wright; sister, Cynthia (Richard) Yockey.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church Map to Church , 4022 Johnson Road, Norton on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. James Maloney as celebrant. A Celebration of her Life will be held following the mass in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to Mobile Meals, 1063 S. Broadway, Akron, OH 44311 in memory of Milly.
Myrtle Martin
Myrtle Martin, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 16, 2006. She was born to Mary and Sylvester McLendon Jan. 16, 1912 in Climax, Ga. She attended Martha Berry College in Georgia and was employed by Akron City Hospital as assistant director to admitting for 27 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting for her children and grandchildren.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Slater S. Martin. She is survived by her children, Royce (Genny) of Akron, Mack (Judy) of Toledo, Charles (Margaret) of Glendale, AZ, Jack (Lenore) of Mesa, AZ, James (Marilyn) of Riverside, CA, Anna (Frank) Burkhart of Wadsworth, Theresa (Gene) Stephens of Akron, Jenny (Jim) Strabic of Green, and John (Linda) of Barberton; 29 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; surviving sisters and brother, Ollna Paulk, Nita Mitchell, Mary Francis Evans, Madge (Mitchell) Jones, and J. Parker (Frances) McLendon.

Nancy Fern Nice
NORTON, Ohio - Nancy “Fern” Nice, 90, went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2006. Nancy was born on October 27, 1915 in Bridgeport, Ala. She later moved to Tennessee where she worked as a stenographer for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, then came to the Akron area after getting married. She attended Grace Church in Norton. Nancy loved gardening, quilting and needlework and blessed many people with her talents.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Belle Cargile; one sister and six brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Warren; son, Norman Nice of Arnold, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Allen Long of Garland, Texas; grandson, Daniel Long and granddaughter, Heather (Eric) Englebretson.
Funeral services will be held at the Bacher Funeral Home Map To This Location 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with family visitation one hour prior to the service with Rev. Allen Long officiating.
Interment Loyal Oak Cemetery.
