Annabell Shroyer Johnson
Annabell Shroyer Johnson, age 78, of Christiancy Ave., Port Orange, FL, died Monday, June 3, 2002 in her home after a valiant struggle with cancer. She was born in Beach City, OH and moved to the Port Orange area in 1957 from Strasburg, OH. She worked as a secretary for the Caton Insurance Agency for several years. Mrs. Johnson was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Port Orange and in the following organizations: Worship Committee, Hope Circle, avid participant in the Church Thrift Boutique Missions Program, Pink Lady at Halifax Medical Center, Fellowship Squares, Dixie Squares and the Good Sam's Club. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by Daniel E. Shroyer and Charles E. Johnson. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey and Terry Shroyer, Gregory and Rachael Shroyer, Randy and Peggy Kinzey, Kim and Debra McNair, Jim and Anetia Shirah and Trevor and Arelia Sayer; grandchildren, Travis, Amanda, Jason, Jennifer, Shane, Brandon and Scott; two sisters, Eileen Watson and Marguerite Donato; and brother, Arthur Strauss. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange with Pastor Kim Joyner officiating. Burial was held at Daytona Memorial Park. In lieu of other remembrances, the family wishes donations to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Tr., Port Orange, FL 32129 or the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church of Port Orange, 305 Port Orange, FL 32129.

Cynthia A. Bendetta
Cynthia Ann Bendetta, age 55, of North Canton, died early Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 in Cleveland Clinic. She worked for Blue Cross for several years and then went to work for Aultman Hospital, retiring in 1997 after 12 years of service. Cynthia was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, North Canton, where she was a past president of both the St. Paul's Women's guild and the St. Paul's Paris Council. She was also a member of Shady Hollow Country Club and the Akron Canton trio, a transplant support group and was a past member of the Canton Women's Club. Survived by her husband of 34-1/2 years, Chuck Bendetta of the home; daughter, Gina Bendetta; granddaughter, Mariella Lucia Marion, both of Akron; mother, Anita Moore; sisters, Judy Brown and Joan Zalac, all of North Canton; mother-in-law, Mary Bendetta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Steve Wuchnick; several nieces, nephews and great nieces; one great nephew. Preceded in death by her father, John Zalac and her grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church,, North Canton, with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke and Fr. James McKarns officiating. Burial in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home. Dorothy E. Burris, age 89, of Massillon, died Thursday morning in Massillon Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born Aug. 3, 1912, in North Industry to the late William and Catherine (Berlyoung) Wright. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Burris in 1991; three brothers, Arthur, Lawrence and Joseph; two sisters, Erma and Leona. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Kate and Dick Noggle of Canton, Jean and Ed Jellel of Bradenton, FL, Jane and Chuck Ellenberger of Massillon, Rita and Art Maurer of Magnolia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Pete and Janet Burris of Massillon, Jim and Kathy Burris of Canton and Roy Burris of Bradenton, FL; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held for the family.

Irma E. Shilling
Irma E. Shilling, age 91, of Massillon, passed away Saturday morning at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton. Irma was born July 3, 1910 in Harrison county to the late Jeremiah and Hollis (Vickers) Fowler and moved to the Massillon area in 1912. She attended Justice School and the Massillon Business School. She had been a member of the Stanwood Community Church and recently attended the forty Corners Church of God. She belonged to the Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union, Brewster Lodge $897. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Shilling, in 1973; son, Donald Shilling, in 1950; sisters, Marie Lewis and Geraldine Rock; brothers, Lawrence, Audley, Galvin and Roy Fowler. Survived by children, Duane and Marta Shilling of Texas, James and Virginia Shilling of Massillon, Dolores and Gary Ullom of Arizona, Russ and Sandy Shilling of Dalton' b sisters, Mildred Street of Massillon, Helen Gerber of Columbus, IN, Dorothy and gene parker of Bellview, FL; brother, James and Shirley Fowler of Massillon; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Jeanette Callehan
Jeanette Callehan, 73, of Salineville, OH, passed away Friday, June 21, 2002 in Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a sudden illness. she was born in Los Angeles, CA, Aug. 31, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Larzaleer LaLonde. Preceded in death by a brother, Norman LaLonde and a sister, Marcella Sondericker. Mom was a devoted wife to her husband, John R. Callehan II, who died Feb. 1, 1983. she will be greatly missed by all whom have had the privilege of calling mother, grandmother, great Grandma and dearest friend. She is survived by five children, Jeanette (Roy) Stidom of Litchfield, OH, John R. Callehan III of Canton, Joseph R. (Carla) Callehan of Mechanicstown, OH, Ray E. Callehan and companion, Amy of Salineville, Juanita R. Shepard of Malvern; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert LaLonde of Santa Anna, CA; a sister, Wanda (Toby) Pyatt of Orange, CA. John H. Sisler
John H. Sisler, age 81, of Canton, died Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center Hospice following an extended illness. He was born in Akron, OH, May 23, 1921 and moved to Massillon in 1960. He was an Air Corps veteran of World War II and was the owner of Sisler Buick in Massillon and Sisler Ford in Canton. John was past president of both the Stark County Auto Dealers Assoc. and the Massillon Club. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Marie (DeLaura) Sisler of the home; son, John Randolph Sisler of North Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane Elizabeth and William R. Eaglowski of Canton and Mary Ann and Gary McManus of Medina; grandchildren, John Randolph II and Liza Sisler, Lora Lynn and Anthony Harley, Elizabeth Ann Eaglowski and her fiance, Jason Pratt, Matthew Gates McManus, Tyler John McManus and Kevin Christopher McManus; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Anita Sisler and brother-in-law, Bill Meighen; many nieces and nephews. June E. DuJardin
June Elizabeth Monnot DuJardin, age 87, formerly of Canton, passed away Wednesday evening June 19, 2002, at Milcrest Nursing Center, Marysville, OH. She was a member of Our Ladies of Lord Catholic in Marysville. She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur DuJardin and parents, Edward L. Monnot and Katherine Fiala Monnot. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and Marjorie Webster Secretarial School, Washington, DC. She attended Seton Hill College and Ursuline College. She lived most of her life in the Canton area, having worked as a medical assistant for both Dr. Fisher and Dr. Arnold at North Canton Medical Center. She was active in the Stark County Genealogy Society, Bernadettes of St. Joan of Arc Church and the Canton Jr. Womens Club. She is survived by many cousins including Mary Margaret Stockdale and James Bremkamp; a niece, Betty Jackson and many friends. Graveside services were held Friday in St. John's Cemetery with Fr. Thomas Bishop officiating. A Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Stark Counting Humane Society.
Mabel Waltenbaugh
Mabel V. Waltenbaugh, age 95, of Canton, OH, passed away Saturday morning June 22, 2002 in Altercare of Canton following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH, May 10, 1907 to her parents the late Joseph C. and Myrtle (Burnside) Randles. She was a former employee of the Kresge Co. and a member of Dueber United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Waltenbaugh, Oct. 31, 1981; a brother, Robert C. Randles, Sept. 21, 1995. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Rachel M. Randles of Canton, OH; her nephew and his wife, Ronald and Carolyn Randles of Gainesville, FL; her niece and her husband, Jane and Donald Rininger of Terre Haute, IN. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in North Lawn Cemetery with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. There will be no calling hours. Margaret Mary (Pittinger) Housley, age 76, passed away Saturday June 22, 2002. she was born in Akron. Margaret was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert; sons, James (Patricia), Thomas (Joyce), Charles (Caroline), Donald (Janene); daughters, Jean (John) Ridenour, Susan (Mark) ; grandchildren, Philip, Daniel, Justin, Lauren, Jonathan, Kelly, Lindsey, Kyle, Courtney, Natalie and Corinne. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. and 10 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment in Holy cross Cemetery. Maxine J. Hull, age 76, of Canton, died Friday in Aultman Hospital after a five month illness. She was a life resident of Canton and was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Ray A. Hull of St. Luke Lutheran Community; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bernie and Linda Hull of Canton, Ron and Patti Hull of St. Louis, MO, Rick and Margie Hull of Naples, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Carol Fink of Canton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3828 Cleveland Ave SE, with Rev. Norman E. Dew officiating. Samuel A. Pasthing
Samuel A. Pasthing, age 87, of Magnolia, passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning. Born in Byesville, OH, a son of the late Anthony and Helen Dominick Pasthing, he had lived most of his life in the area. He retired in 1982 from Canton Drop Forge after 48 years service as a trimmer die maker. Mr. Pasthing was a hardworking man who was devoted to helping other people. He was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by a brother, George Miller; and a sister, Helen Druzin. Survived by his devoted wife, Edna Pasthing, with whom he celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary on April 2, 2002; three daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Murphy of Minerva, Debra and Leonard DelCorso of North Canton, and Marcia Pasthing of Magnolia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Alfreda Pasthing of Yellville, AR, and Tony Pasthing of Magnolia; one sister, Mary Kapina of Barton, OH; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, with Rev. Nancy Manner officiating. Michael George Martin
Michael George Martin, age 49, of Canton, passed away June 17, 2002 in his home following an extended illness. Born October 25, 1952 in Canton, son of the late George and Jeanne (Ketter) Martin. Michael was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Hilda Ketter. Survivors include one son, Eric Martin of Massillon; one sister and brother-in-law, Mindi and Greg Van Nostran of Canton; one brother, James Martin of Canton; and special friend, his dog, Friskie. At his request there will be no funeral services and his body will be cremated.
