Charles L. Fomich
Charles L. (Chuck) Fomich, age 51, of Canton, died Sunday evening in his residence of a long term illness. Born in Canton, OH on May 8, 1951 to his parents, John and Mildred (McKee) Fomich, he lived most of his life in the Canton area. Mr. Fomich was employed by The Timken Company, the City of Canton and most recently self-employed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Fomich. Survivors include his loving father, John Fomich; sister, Mrs. Paul (Delores) Wolbert of North Canton; brother, Mr. David (Brandie) Fomich of Canton and long time companion, Lela Womack; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20th at Trinity Gospel Temple, 1612 Tuscarawas Street, Canton, OH 44703. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the church. The Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donna (Swan)Welker
Donna (Swan) Welker, age 68, of North Canton, died Friday, June 14, 2002, after suffering a massive heart attack while visiting her son in Florida. Born in Peoria, IL. Donna had resided here most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was the Director of Medical Records for St. Thomas Hospital of Akron. Donna was preceded in death by her first husband, L. Blazer Swan, on June 30, 1966; her second husband, Marvin G. Welker, on March 16, 2002; and a son, Charles, on July 10, 2001. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin M. and Tammi Swan of Velrico, FL; two grandsons, Branden and Bryan Swan; brother, J. Bart Williams. A memorial service celebrating Donna's life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2002, in Greenwood Christian Church, 4424 Frazer Ave. N.W., with Rev. Tony Amerine officiating. A private interment will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 13907 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa, FL 33618, which was one of Donna's Favorite charities. The Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy A. Chiesa
Dorothy A. Chiesa, age 86, of Canton, passed away Monday afternoon in Hanover House after a lengthy illness. Born a daughter of the late William and Goldie Jones Voges, she had been a Canton resident for most of her life. Mrs. Chiesa was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a 1933 graduate of McKinley High School. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Chiesa, on June 5, 1974 and one son, William McClain. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janice Chiesa, of Denver, CO; one daughter-in-law, Sonia McClain, of Canton; four grandchildren, Michael, Jimmy and Steven Chiesa and Annick Schrader and her husband Jack; and one great grandson, Jeremy Schrader. Services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Cheyney officiating. Friends may call Wednesday 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
Dr. Thomas Ellis
Dr. Thomas K. Ellis. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Massillon. Dr. Ellis, a retired Physician and Surgeon of Urology, and the former Massillon City Health Commissioner, died June 8th following a brief illness. Dr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Julie Murphy; son, Jeffrey T. Ellis; two grandchildren.
Emil J. Pachuta
Emil J. Pachuta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Temperanceville, OH, with Fr. Virgil Reishman as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Friends may call Wednesday (tonight) 6-8 p.m. in the Don Williams Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass in the church. Evelyn Effie Frank
Evelyn Effie Frank, age 71 of Canton, OH passed away Sunday afternoon at the home following a brief illness. Born in Joliet, IL on July 3, 1930 she had lived the greater portion of her life in Canton. She was retired alarm dispatcher for the Canton Fire Department, retiring in 1987 after 25 years of service. She was affiliated with the Cathedral of Life Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, a half sister and her husband, Richard E. Frank who passed away June 11, 1971. Survivors include her son, Kevin C. Frank of Canton and two daughters, Diane Stano and Lori Keener both of Canton. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Frank C. Calhoun of Navarre; sister, Donna Marino of Florida and half sister, Patty Hackathorne of Mississippi. Memorial Services will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. C. Herschel Gammill, Bishop officiating. There will be no calling hours and her wishes were to be cremated.
Mary E. Kendle
Mary E. Kendle, age 76, of North Canton, died Sunday morning, June 16, 2002 at Aultman Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren. Mary loved fishing, gardening and her family. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Lidderdale of Greentown; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Barb Kendle of North Canton; grandchildren, Tim, Jonahton, Shana and Pete; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Hanna and Dominic; sisters, Arlene Deighan of Florida, Mabel Simmons of California and Leslie Royer of Canton; brothers, William Lowe of North Canton and John Lowe of Greentown, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lester A. Pete Kendle in 1998; her infant son, David and her parents, John and Grace Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2002 in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Reid Firestone officiating. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to her family.

Victor E. Meyers
Victor E. Meyers, age 63 of Canton, OH., dear brother, uncle and friend, went home to be with the Lord, passing away Tuesday morning in the Arbors of Canton following a brief illness. Born in Canton on February 4 , 1939 he served his country, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1958. Survivors include his sister, Janice Hamlin of Canton; niece and her husband, Lorraine and Randall Hanlin of Canton; and their children, Dustin and Kristi; and great great nephew, Gage. Victor will be dearly missed by family and friends. At his request there will be no services as his wishes were to be cremated. His cremains will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The Reed Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Luvenia Roden
Madame Luvenia Roden, was called to glory June 16, 2002 at 3:01 a.m. at Aultman following a brief illness. She leaves to mourn four sons, Julius, Unjuan Jay (Beverly), Warren Winson (Charmaine) of Canton; one daughter, Hawana of Canton; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many many other relatives and friends. Her religious background stems from Pentecostal Temple COGIC and Peoples Baptist Church. Friday night services will be held at Peoples Baptist Church, 701 17th St. SE. from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday June 22, 2002 at 12 Noon at Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 718 Henrietta Ave NE.
