Clara E. Ferguson-May
Clara E. Ferguson-May, age 60, of Massillon, passed away Friday morning after an extended illness. Born in Zanesville, she had been a Massillon resident most of her life. She was employed with Portage Electric. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jeff Marapao of Canton, Linda and Vince Morena of Magnolia, Donna May of Massillon; grandchildren, Nicole Flynn, Heather Morena, Danielle Buchanan, Elizabeth Lantzer; and great-granddaughters, Destiny Baumgardner. Friends may call on Monday 7-8 p.m. in the ROSSI FNERAL HOME with services to follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Robert Graber officiating. As were her wishes Mrs. Fergerson-May will be cremated.
Clarence Postlewait
Clarence Albert Postlewait, age 86, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2002, in the Great Trail Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Cambridge, Ohio, on August 15, 1915, he had lived the greater portion of his life in Canton. Survivors include his sister, Loretta Strickler of Malvern, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Betty Postlewaite of Carrollton, sister-in-law, Evelyn Postlewaite of North Canton; there are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Dolores Elaine Fowler. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Gifford officiating. Private burial for the family will follow the services. Calling hours in the funeral home Sunday (TODAY) 2-4 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Monday from 10-11 a.m.

Frank Demeter
Frank Demeter, age 62, of Independence, died 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in St. Michael's Hospital in Cleveland following an extended illness. He was born Mar. 9, 1940 in Hanoverton to Julius and Elizabeth (Demeter) Demeter. He was a pressman for Irwin Engraving and Printing Co. In Cleveland was a 1958 graduate of Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, OR and was also a veteran of the US Navy. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Tina) Moore of Oklahoma; two sisters, Elizabeth Hodula of Canton, Irene Cole of Portland, OR; a brother, John Demeter of Canton; four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Julia Broyhill and four brothers, Joseph, Julius, Samuel and Paul Demeter. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2002 at the Perry Christian Church in Canton with Mr. Doug Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Arrangements by the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
Hilda Love
Hilda Love, age 91, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon, June 14, 2002 in Bethany Nursing Home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 5, 1910 to the late Max and Wilma (Schwartz) Braunstein and moved to the Canton area in 1945. Hilda was a bookkeeper and retired from General Electric Credit Corp. in 1975. She was a member of Temple Israel, and the Canton Jewish Center where she was past president of the Senior Citizens Group. Hilda was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and singing. Preceded in death by husbands, David Levinson and Joseph M. Love; sister, Dorothy Marlowe; and brother, Solomon Braunstein. She was the beloved mother to daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Stanley Friedman of Canton, and Francine and Irving Korman of Fairlawn; beloved sister to Pearl Levine of New Jersey; and beloved grandmother to Barbara and John Spera, David Friedman, Julie and Scott Cardille, and Melanie Korman; and beloved great-grandmother to Jodee and Andrew Spera. Funeral Services will beheld Monday 1:00 PM in Temple Israel with Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Temple Israel, 333-25th St., NW, Canton, OH 44709. The family will receive friends at the Spera Residence, 640 Crestdale NW, Canton, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Irvin D. Beck
Irvin D. Cork Beck, age 73, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Aultman Hospital. He was born July 16, 1928, in East Canton, OH, to the late John F. and Norma Leidtke Beck. Irvin retired from American Electric Power in 1988 after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Kocher); one daughter, Chris Beck and one son, Jim Beck both of Canton; one sister, Rosemary Hoyt of East Canton; two brothers, William Beck of Canton and David Beck of British Columbia; three grandchildren, James Beck of East Canton, Lori Barton of Louisville and Beth Pence of Texas; one grandson, Dustin Barton. He was also preceded in death by one brother, John Beck in 1997. At Irvin's request there will be a private family funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville. Interment in Union Cemetery, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Joseph J. Gialluca
Joseph J. Gialluca, age 86, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning in Aultman Hospital after brief illness. He was a life resident of Canton. Member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters, Canton Court, AARP. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to do crafting and woodworking and loved to dance. He was a former employee of the Berger Division of Republic Steel, having been employed there for a number of years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella Mollie (Votolato) Gialluca, who passed away on May 29, 2001; his parents, Panfilo and Lucy Gialluca; three brothers, Dominick, Anthony and John Gialluca; three sisters, Elina Leon, Rose Ciprian and Ann Comsia. Survived by one sister, Norma Jean Gialluca of Canton; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Rose Gialluca of Canton and a number of nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Mabel L. Skaggs
Mabel L. Skaggs, 61, of Strasburg, O., died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. She was an employee of Alsco Aluminum at Sugarcreek for 20 years. Mabel was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover. She was a 1959 graduate of Strasburg High School. She is survived by her husband, Wallace K. Skaggs, with whom she would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on July 9; three children, Michael K. Skaggs of Seven Hills, O., Deborah (Daniel) Yeager and daughter Tiffany of Dover, and Wesley K. Skaggs of Strasburg; four sisters, Linda (William) Border of Massillon; Bonnie (Michael) Reiger of Canton; Patricia (Jay) Faulhaber of North Canton; Charlotte (Bryan) Miller of Stamford, Conn. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Froman. Funeral services for the family will be held Monday in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Rosemarie Clark
Rosemarie Clark, age 49, of Canton, went home to be with Lord on Thursday June 13, 2002, after a long illness. She was born on August 20, 1952, in Alliance, OH, to James and Martha Alexander and had lived in Canton most of her life. She enjoyed her family and especially enjoyed worshiping the Lord. She was preceded in death by father, James Alexander Sr., grandmothers, Buelah Alexander and Liley Rhodes, sisters, Marva Thomas and Stella Alexander, brother, James Alexander III and son, Robert Clark Jr. She leaves to cherish many memories to husband, Robert Clark Sr.; daughter, Tanaya (Ollie) Clark; stepdaughter, Sonyia Williams; granddaughter, Justine Chester; mother, Martha Alexander, all of Canton; two sisters, Marcella (Phil) Jones of Gathersburg, MD and Elva Jean Wood of Alliance, OH; three brothers, Jimmy Alexander and Lee Patterson of Alliance, OH and William Alexander of Canton; Jacques Jackson and many other foster children; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; special friends, Pastor Beasley and family, Victoria Lacey, Taneah Hackworth, Charles and Teresa Mackey and Opal Elliott; other relatives and friends. Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Clark will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where Pastor Corey Johnson will be officiating and Pastor Reginald Ray will be eulogizing. Theresa C. Brahler
Theresa C. Brahler, age 73, of Canton, passed away Friday June 14, 2002 at Hanover House after an extended illness. Lifetime resident of Canton she was a retired employee of the Timken Company. A 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. Preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Otto Brahler, sister, Alvera Brahler, two brothers, Anthony and Adrian Brahler, brother-in-law, Charles L. Babcock Sr., and nephew, Charles L. Babcock Jr. Survived by her sister, Mary M. Babcock of Canton; many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Mary Brahler of Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Edward Beneleit. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 7-9 p.m. at the Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Vivian H. Mrofka
Vivian H. Binnie Mrofka, age 83, of Massillon, passed away Thursday in Delaware, OH. Vivian was born April 22, 1919, in Crystal Springs to the late Charles and Emma Sara (Able) Kula and has lived in Massillon all of her life. She was homemaker. Her husband, Albert Mrofka passed away in 1997. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys and Ethel; and three brothers, Ray, Clark and Landis. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Maureen Mrofka of Delaware, OH; two grandsons, Joshua and Gearin Mrofka. Family services will be Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Garden. There will be no calling hours.
Wallace M. Anderson
Wallace Wally M. Anderson, age 89, died on Friday, June 14, 2002, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, OH., after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ernestine McNutt Anderson; his three children, Kurt (Ruth) Anderson of Zanesville, Fred (Alison) Anderson of Sturbridge, MA., and Kathleen Lord of Highspire, PA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born on July 15, 1912, in Rocky River, OH., he was an avid golfer and a life member of the Professional Golfer's Association as well as the Professional Golf Superintendent's Association. He taught golf for many years at Round Lake Golf Club of Loudonville, OH., which he owned from 1950 to 1963, the Metropolitan Park System of Cleveland golf courses, 15 years at the Meadowlake Golf Club in Canton, as well as golf courses in Orrville, Chillicothe, and New Castle, PA. During World War II, he served in the Coast Guard Reserves stationed in Cleveland. He chose to donate his body to Case-Western Reserve University College of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring on July 27th., at 2 p.m. The Rev. Shane Estes will officiate. Robert C. Mohr
Robert C. Mohr, age 84, of Canton, passed away early Thursday morning in his home after an extended illness. He was a life resident of Canton. He was a retired employee of the Vector Security, formerly Buckeye Security for over 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for Hercules Motor Co. for 30 years. Veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2370, Moose Lodge #233, VFW Post #3747. He was a graduate of McKinley High School and an avid McKinley Booster and fan. He was an avid bowler and golfer for many years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emeline (McCarthy), who passed away on Nov. 6, 1996, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage; also his parents, Charles and Irene Mohr; a sister, Doris Klonowski; a brother, Floyd Mohr. He was the loving father of son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lucille Mohr of Alliance; daughters and son-in-law, Sandy Workman of Canton and Larraine and Bill Meredith of Malvern; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Jean Mohr, Jack and Belinda Mohr, all of Canton; loving grandfather of Vicki Davis, Todd Workman and DeAnna Glass and five step grandchildren; loving great-grandfather of Nicholas and Brandon Davis and David Glass and 13 step-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Crites officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
