Nellie Mae Steffy
TALLMADGE, Ohio - Nellie Mae Steffy, 84, passed away December 2, 2007. She was born December 10, 1922 in Akron. She had worked as a secretary for Falls Metal Stamping, was a resident of Stow Glen Retirement Village and was a member of Northeast Neighbors in Tallmadge.
Nellie was a devoted fan of Bill O’Reilly, enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and was an avid reader.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Francis.
She is survived by her son, Greg (Janet) Steffy ; brother, Jim (Pat) Kysor; sisters, Mary Ellen Kysor and Maxine Crandell; grandchildren, Trent, Shannon (Mary), Cara; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Evan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home Map to funeral home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., where a Celebration of Life service will be held Friday at 1 p.m., Pastor Kim Barnett officiating.
Interment at Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stow Glen Retirement Village, 4285 Kent Rd., Stow, OH 44224, in memory of Nellie.

Nicole Bodjanac
NORTON, Ohio - Nicole Bodjanac
Nicole Lynne Bodjanac, (nee Webel), 22, went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2007. Nicole was a 2002 graduate of Norton High School and a graduate of Radiography School through Akron Children’s Hospital. She was a member of Norton Apostolic Christian Church.
Nicole loved people and always had a smile on her face. She had a strong faith and always believed “Either way, I win!” Through her illness, she wanted others to come to know Christ.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Dolfen and is survived by her loving and devoted husband Rick; parents, Paul and Cindy Webel; brother, Paul (Sarah) Webel, Jr.; sisters, Renee and Danielle Webel; grandparents, Reinhardt and Arlene Webel and Betty Dolfen and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home Map To The Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., NORTON, on Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Norton Apostolic Christian Church Map To The Church3816 Greenwich Rd. Norton with Pastor Jeremy Jivan officiating.
Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Norman D. Holbert
NEW FRANKLIN - Norman D. Holbert, 73, went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2006. He was born Nov. 28, 1932 in Akron. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber. After retiring from Firestone, Norman graduated as an L.P.N. from Akron Nursing School and worked for Akron General Medical Center on the Oncology Floor. He was a Master Mason with Masonic Lodge 750 in Barberton and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. He enjoyed socializing and keeping busy, especially with his flower garden, amateur radio (KA8CNQ), and running 5K’s. He also enjoyed music, especially Frank Sinatra. Norman dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Erskine and Georgia Holbert; and brother, Edward Holbert. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clara; son, Steve Holbert of New Franklin; daughters, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Moore of Lancaster, OH and Julie (Chris) Hoxworth of New Franklin; sister, Janet (Jan) Hemminger of Louisville, OH; sister-in-law, Bea Holbert of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Allison and Daniel, Aaron and Neil; many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with Masonic services provided by Barberton Lodge 750 at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Rd., Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Military services provided by Firestone V.F.W. Post 3383. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 301, Akron, OH 44313, in memory of Norman.

Patti Peters
Akron, Ohio - “Patti” Jayne (Benton) Peters
“Patti” Jayne (Benton) Peters, went to be with the Lord November 24, 2007. She was born March 17, 1945 in Elyria, OH.
Patti was the daughter of W.L. “Ben” and Jayne (Ricker) Benton. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1963. She married Robert H. Peters on September 14, 1963.
Patti was preceded in death by her father, W.L. Benton on August 28, 1986.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert; son, Scott (Layne) Peters, of Alabama; daughters, Sherrie (Tim) Monnot of Akron, and Shellie (Dan) Peters of Massillon; brothers, Don (Alison) Benton of Dublin, OH, and Bryan (Sandy) Benton of Woodstock, GA; sisters, Teri (Avi) Aharoni, and Tami (Ted)Benton, both of Ashland; mother, Jayne Benton, of Ashland; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.
Friends may call at Word of Life Outreach Center,Map to Church 1878 Killian Rd, Akron, on Tuesdsay, November 27th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday, November 28th at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gene Jolliff officiating.
Burial will take place at Ashland Cemetery, in Ashland Ohio.

Pauline (Polly) Key
Pauline “Polly” Key, 83, was called home by her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2006. Born in Crossville, TN on July 30, 1922, her parents moved to the Norton area when she was 2 years old. She was an active member of The Chapel where she participated in the daily prayer outreach, missionary programs, kids summer daily Bible studies, and was a member of the choir. She was a volunteer at City Hospital for many years. She also loved to travel with her family on her husband’s international assignments allowing them to live in Peru and France. Polly was a devoted wife to her husband of 61 years, Amos and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Fowler and Carrie Carmack; sister, Ann (Vernon) Bail; and brother, William (Barbara) Carmack. She is survived by her husband, Amos Key; sons, Terry (MaryAnn) Key and Bryan Key; granddaughter, Juliet (Michael) Swires; great- grandchildren, Grant and Amelia Swires; brother, Robert (Margie) Carmack. The family would like to thank Pleasant View for their kindness and loving care for the past eleven years as well as the Barberton Hospice Organization.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., NORTON where services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service, Pastor Eloy Pacheco officiating and Judy Chenoweth singing. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. If desired, memorials may be made in Polly’s memory to The Chapel’s Missions Program or to Pleasant View Health Care Center.

Peggy Guynn
Peggy Guynn, 80, passed away November 4, 2007. She was born January 2, 1927 in Hillsdale, PA, but lived in the Akron area since she was 13. She was a former Ohio Promenader and worked for nearly 20 years as a waitress for Bob’s Big Boy. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Peggy is survived by her husband of almost 23 years, Richard; son, Randal (Sally) Holbrook, daughter, Carol Stevens; step-daughter, Arlene Guynn; step-sons, Kevin (Raye) Guynn and Ron (Paula) Guynn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. Map to funeral home, on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m., Rev. Jerry Butcher officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, in memory of Peggy.

Randy G. Martin
Randy G. Martin, 46, passed away Jan. 1, 2006. He was born June 18, 1959 in Canton. He worked as a software engineer for Soft Technics and was a member of Cisco Systems Golf League. Randy was an honorary band member at Manchester High School, was very active with his time and energy with the Marching Panther Band, and was president of the Manchester Music Boosters.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Martin. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joanne; sons, Adam and Jeremiah; daughter, Lindsay; mother, Bea; sister, Vicky (Phil) Smith; nephew, Eric; nieces, Angela and Brittany.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and also one hour prior to the service on Friday at 11 a.m., Rev. Michael Hernandez officiating. Interment at Manchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Martin Trust Fund at First Merit Bank, in memory of Randy.

Ray (Bud) Smith
Ray “Bud” Smith, 86, passed away March 10, 2006. He was born Sept. 6, 1919 in Akron and was a life long resident of the Portage Lakes area. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a carpenter. Bud will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his son, Larry T. Smith and son-in-law, Jack Stevens. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Stevens and Cherie (Jim) Lopuchovsky; sister, Pearlie Morrison; grandchildren, Karen (Chris) Kampf, Rick Mong, Troy Tompkins, Donovan, Dawn, and Larry Smith, Maryssa Molesky and Cary Ann Lopuchovsky; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Ashley, Samantha and Brianna Mong; and great-great grandchildren, Dakota and Brooklynn.
The family wishes to thank Gaslite Villa and staff for their many years of tender loving care.
Funeral services to be announced at a later date.

Rebecca Humble
Rebecca Leigh Humble (Becca), 20, of Norton passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2008. She was born August 22, 1987 and had attended Norton High School.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother, Michael. She is survived by her loving parents, Mark and Carmen Humble of Norton; her “big sissy” April (Jim) Evans of Clinton; her brother, Jayson Humble of Stow; nieces, Emily and Brooke; and nephews, Tommy, Holden, and Steven.
Rebecca was loved by many and will live forever in our hearts. Private services will be held at a later date.

Reda V. Warnick
NORTON--Reda V. Warnick, 81, went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2008. She was born on November 13, 1926 in West Virginia to Harlan and Lona Mae Starcher. She was a member of the Barberton Wesleyan Methodist Church for 11 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ray; sister, Ruth Kelly and brother, Leo Starcher. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Teddy) Squires; grandchildren, Melanie (Dale) Collins and Jennifer (Lee) Tomes; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Trevor, Trent and Tray; brothers, Darrell (Hester) Starcher and Harlan (Betty) Starcher, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Powell, Lena (Richard) Franks, Emogene Poling, and Janet (Richard) Whited.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., NORTON Map to funeral home, on Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Dennis McCoy officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Richard L. Guynn
Richard L. Guynn, 80, passed away December 25, 2007. He was born October 31, 1927 in Kentucky. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Ohio Promenaders.
Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie; second wife, Peggy; and son, Tim. He is survived by his daughter, Arlene Guynn; sons, Kevin (Raye) Guynn and Ron (Paula) Guynn; step-son, Randal (Sally) Holbrook; step-daughter, Carol Stevens; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. Map to funeral home, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home, 113 North Third St., Central City, Kentucky at 1 p.m., where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society, in memory of Richard.

Robert J. Andersen
Wadsworth, Ohio - Robert J. Andersen
Robert John Andersen, “Bob” 83, passed away March 1, 2008.
He was born February 22, 1925 in Bronx, New York but had resided in the Wadsworth area for over 50 years.
Bob served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII as a Radio/Gunner on a B-25 in the Marine Bomber Squadron VMB-611. While serving in the Pacific, he received the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air medals.
He graduated from New England College with a B.S. in engineering and also received a B.S. from New Haven State Teachers College. He began a teaching career in Florida and then joined the Babcock & Wilcox Company in 1953 in St. Petersburg, Florida later transferring to Barberton where he retired as a project manager in 1986 after 33 years of faithful service. He traveled both domestically and internationally for them in the building of large UP and RB boilers.
Bob loved golf, playing cards, skiing in his early years and especially spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Pepper.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Margaret and George Keller; father, John Andersen and son, Gregory Scott Andersen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara (Haynes); son, Jeff (Kathleen) of Napa, CA; grandchildren, Emily and Max of Napa, CA; brother, Lt. Col. Ret. Howard (Kathleen) Andersen of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Eileen Tyson of West Palm Beach, FL; brother-in-law, Thomas (Donna) Haynes of Wadsworth, OH; step-sister, Claire Pearson of Oxford, PA; step-brother, Richard (Marcia) Keller of Bradford, NH and many nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful people at Magnolia Village that took such good care of Bob.
Friends may call on Tuesday March 4, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Bacher Funeral Home Map To Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
