Cartha J. Miller
Cartha J. (Green) Miller, age 73, of Canton, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, Canton, following a sudden illness. She was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Fort Cobb, OK, where she grew up, but had been a resident of this area for over 50 years. She had worked as an Inspector/Press Operator at Tyson Bearings for 25 years, retiring in 1985 and had also worked as a distributor for Farmer's Manufacturing. She was a member of the Stark County Fair Board. She was also an active member of First Christian Church in Massillon, where she was president of the congregation and had been an elder and a member of the choir. She had also made and sold crafts. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Martin Hank Miller of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Cathy Weaver of Navarre, Douglas C. and Barbara Weaver of Massillon; one daughter, Martie Bly Miller of Canton South; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Weaver, Jimmy Lee Weaver II, Zachary Weaver, Bobby Bly Miller and Jacob Bly Miller; one great-grandson, Gavin Myers; two brothers, Donald Green and Ronald Green, both of Massillon; one sister, Norma Knobb of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolphus and Tena (South) Green; one brother, D.C. Green. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1020 Wales Rd. NE, with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial in Newman Cemetery, Newman. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. in the Heitger Funeral Service, Massillon Chapel. 639 First St. NE.
Cecil Mucklow
Cecil Mucklow, age 75, of Green, OH, passed away Sat. May 11, 2002, at home after a long term illness. He served the U.S. Navy, a World War II veteran. His unit in the Navy participated in eight amphibious landings in the South Pacific during the island hopping campaign. He was very proud to have served his country. he retired from Mohawk Rubber Co. in Akron in 1977 after 31 years of service. Survived by his wife, Bernice of Green; his children, Norman Mucklow of Niceville, FL, Jackie Slagle of Canton, Susan Narens of Green, David Mucklow of Green; his sister, Anna Stone of Akron; 11 grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday 7-9 p.m. at Booth Funeral Home, 3101 State St. NW, Greentown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Greensburg Cemetery, Green, OH. Connie M. (Cassille) Greku. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald M. Klingler as Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Daniel Mantsch Jr.
Daniel Mantsch Jr., age 87, of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning at Heather Ridge. Born in Canton, he is the son of the late Daniel and Rose (Hamlascher) Mantsch. A retired employee of Republic Steel, Dan was past president and a lifetime member of The Canton Sachsenheim Club. Also active at the Louisville Eagles. Preceded in death by his wife, Rose in 1985. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Anne and Paul Schlub, Lucy and Gerald Smith; sons and daughter-in-law, Dan and Susan Mantsch, Tom Mantsch; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Rosemarie Mitchell; brothers, John and Rudy Mantsch.; many nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home. Rev. Clint Quillen will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends will be received Monday (tonight) from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m.
Ethel K. Warner
Ethel K. Warner, age 85, of Canton, died Sunday morning in the Legends Care Center following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Emmett and Mary (Casebeer) Meek. She was a life resident of the Canton area. Retired from the United Way and was formerly employed by the Hoover Co. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Also preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Moulton, in 1946; her second husband, Charles L. Warner, in 1978; one daughter, Carol Irene Moulton; two sons, Earl Leroy and David G. Moulton; a special friend, Jim Foltz. Survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jean and Bob Reno of Canton, Brenda K. Miller and her friend, Chris Lowe of Michigan; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave., with Rev. Michael Bragg officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday one hour before the services (12-1 p.m.).

Margaret E. Keller
Margaret E. Keller, age 74, of Canton, OH, passed away Sunday morning, May 12, 2002 in the Legends Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH, April 20, 1928 to her parents the late Galen and Mildred H. (Sterling Pfaus. She was former co-owner and operator for 35 years of the Whipple Heights Union 76 and Harrison-West Tuscarawas Union 76 Stations. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, past member of the Lady Lions Club, Elks Club and an avid bowler and race car enthusiast. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest W. Keller, March 29, 1989; her sister, Catherine White; brother, Thomas Pfaus. Survivors include five children and their spouses, Linda Harbert, James and Pat Keller, Scott and Kim Keller and Susan Rexrode, all of Canton, Pam and Ken Gresko of Navarre, OH; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 702 Raff Rd. SW, Canton with Pastor Kenneth Scheck officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Robert H. Greene
Robert Hugh Greene, age 82, of Louisville, OH, passed away Sunday morning May 12, 2002 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Bakersville, NC, March 18, 1920 to his parents the late Robert Lee and Ethel (Davis Greene, he was a graduate of Bakersville, NC, and lived most of his life in the Louisville area. Mr. Greene was a retired employee of Hercules Motors retiring after 32 years of service. He was a long time member of Canton Baptist Temple. Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Greene of the home, to whom he was married 61 years; five sons and their spouses, Robert and Kathy Greene of Louisville, James and Sally Greene of Louisville, Larry and Valerie Greene of Arizona, David and Debbie Greene of East Canton, Gregory and Debbie Greene of Canton; his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark Holbein of East Canton; one brother, David Harold Greene of Los Angeles, CA; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Home Harding of Bakersville, NC; ten grandchildren; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Stanley W. Peddicord
Stanley W. Chuck Peddicord, 74, of 215 Don Street, Minerva, died on Friday, May 10, 2002 at his home. Born in Wheeling, W.Va, on February 1, 1928, he had lived most of his life in the Alliance area, moving to Minerva this past year. Mr. Peddicord was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and had retired from American Steel. He was a member of the Grace Chapel in Minerva. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia, Linda and Kathleen; two sons, Michael and James; ten grandchildren, Laura, Paul, Christine, Aaron, Heather, Andrew, Justin, Steven, Caitlyn and Gretchen; a brother, Jack; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife Barbara Jean (Whitmer) Peddicord on Feb. 15, 1997 (they were married on Sept. 23, 1944); three infant daughters, Carol Marie, Anna Marie and Donna Jean; a granddaughter Deseree; his parents, Milford and Dorothy Blanche (Stanley) Peddicord; and a sister, Patricia. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6- 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 8 pm with Pastor Kirt Henman officiating.
