Alice A. Turnbull
Alice A. Turnbull, age 89, of Canton, OH, passed away Saturday morning in the Canton Christian Home following a brief illness. Born in Canton on March 29, 1913, she was a 1931 graduate of McKinley High School. She was a retired employee of the Stern Mann Co. where she had worked for 30 years, of which 20 years was as a children's buyer. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple and the 20 Plus Club of Stern Mann's. She was active in Christian work, along with her now deceased husband, Harold Turnbull, working with the Youth for Christ and also a Bible Ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Turnbull; two sisters, Edna Schick and Florence Slentz; a brother, Clayton Neff; and stepson, Lt. Robert Turnbull. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jean Turnbull Carper of Louisville, OH; a stepson, David Turnbull of Shorewood, IL; two sisters, Ruth Keiser of North Canton and Jane Martin of Canton; 13 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Canton Baptist Temple with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Monday 7-9 p.m. and one hour before the services at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canton Baptist Temple or the Diabetes Foundation.

Ann H. Presutti
Ann H. (Pezel) Presutti, age 71, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away following a lengthy illness Saturday, April 13, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center. Arrangements by the Rossi Funeral Home.

Anna Marie Allen
Anna Marie Allen, age 51, went home to be with the Lord April 12, 2002 at Manor Care
of Canton. She was born in Canton and had lived in this community all of her life. She was retired from Stark County Dept. of Human Services and a member of the James S. Thomas United Methodist Church, NAACP, Stark Social Workers Network, Allen Elementary School PTA. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline King; her adopted parents, Rosevelt and Bessie Stonum; and brother, Larry King. Survived by son, Michael Anthony Stonum of Evergreen, AL; daughters, Jacquelynn Allen-Mwalujuwa (Deogratius) and Sonja L.L. Allen, both of Canton; brothers, Nathaniel Pojo, Paul and Pete King of Canton, Darnail (Sylvia) King, Alan King, all of Canton; sisters, Joan Atkison (Johnny) of Milwaukee, Barbara (Linsey) Burton of Canton, Carolyn Brooks of New York; special friend, Harold Smith of Canton; six grandchildren, Terran, Tre's, Torrieonna, Von-teria Allen, Corrina and Ryan Hughley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the James S. Thomas United Methodist Church, 3412 Harmont Ave. NE, 330-455-0769, with Pastor W. Maurice King officiating. Barbara L. Nardo
Barbara L. Nardo, age 74, a Malvern resident for 40 years, died in her home, Friday, April 12, 2002 following a long illness. She was born in Pekin, OH on February 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Kenneth Mathers and Mildred (James) Mathers Ingersoll. She retired from GBS where she worked as a shrink wrapper and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, a lifetime member of VFW Post 4120 Auxiliary, and a member of the Woman's Club at the church. She is survived by her son, Robert J. Nardo of Waynesburg; daughters, Rita Visnick of Canton, Regina Dustman of Malvern; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Arthur Gross of Malvern, Toni and Doyle Lewis of Mineral City, Barbara and Richard Kolm of North Canton, Jodi and David Gascon of Minerva; sister, Mary Lou Graham of Minerva; brother, Kenneth Sonny Mathers of Minerva; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nardo, who died in 1973; her father, mother and stepfather, Frank Ingersoll; daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Burick) Nardo; son-in-law, Jack Dustman; and granddaughter, Jennifer Jo Gross. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Minerva at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2002, with Celebrant Msgr. John Michael Campbell. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the Deckman-Bartley Funeral home, Tuesday 6-9 p.m. The Rosary will be said at 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Area Agency on Aging, 6078 Southgate Rd., Byesville, OH 43723 or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Building Fund.

Blanche I. Kaiser
Blanche I. Kaiser, age 77, passed away April 11, 2002 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center in Massillon following a long illness. She was born February 10, 1925 on a farm near North Canton, daughter of the late, Ray V. and Helen Douds Mayer. She spent her entire life in the North Canton area, graduating from Hoover High School in 1943 and briefly attended Kent State and Canton Actual Business College. She worked at numerous restaurants in the area until her retirements in 1990. She attended North Canton Reformed Church for many years and also Simpson Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and being with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Kaiser in 1969; and her brother, Robert Mayer, who passed away last year. She is survived by her children and their respective spouses, Donna and Michael Aho of Clermont, FL, Patricia and Larry Beltz of Alliance, and David and Pamala Kaiser of Massillon; plus four grandchildren; and numerous cousins, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, at 1 p.m. in Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW, with Rev. Barbara Ross officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m.

Donald McWilliams
Donald L. McWilliams, age 82, of St. Rt. 314, Mt. Gilead, OH, died Thursday, April 11, 2002. Born in Perry Twp. Morrow Co., on July 26, 1919, he was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Don was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was active in the Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church, Gideon's International and the World Gospel Mission. He is survived by his wife, Frances; four sons and three daughters-in-law, David (Judy) McWilliams of Canton, OH, James McWilliams of Mt. Gilead, OH, Thomas (Kim) McWilliams of West Salem, OH and Charles (Deneen) McWilliams of Cardington, OH; two daughters, Karen (Terry) Fortner of Sparta, OH and Amy (Ernie) Wolf of Shreve, OH; two stepsons, Gary Hoam of Bellville, OH and Don Howard of Mt. Gilead, OH; two step daughters, Carolyn Davis of Fredericktown, OH and June Hagan of Lexington, OH; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Bachelder of Barefoot Bay, FL, Jean Reinhardt and Louise McWilliams of Mt. Gilead. Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Sunday 2-5 p.m. Pastors Jim Jensen and Keith Bond will conduct services Monday at 2 p.m. in the Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church. Burial in Shauck Cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy M. Valtich. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Canton, Monday at 10 a.m. with Msgr. John C. Finnigan as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. A Parish Prayer Service will precede calling hours at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Elmer H. Evans
Elmer H. Evans, age 86, of Canton, died Thursday in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Son of the late Orloff and Rachael (Simmons) Evans. He is retired from the South Division of Republic Steel in 1974 after 42 years of service. Member of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church, and the Pike Grange for more than 50 years. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Workman) in 2001; two sisters and six brothers. He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Gerri Kirkbride of Canton; Darlene Alborn of East Sparta, Marlene and Chuck Wagmiller of Louisville; one son, Dean Evans of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. David Case and Rev. Peter Hall officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday 7-9 p.m. and one hour before services on Tuesday (12-1pm) with Grange Services at 6:45 p.m on Monday. Francis J. Hinkel
Francis J. Fritz Hinkel, age 77, of Canton, OH, passed away Friday morning in the Mercy Medical Center. Born in North Canton on January 14, 1925, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired plumber/pipefitter in the Local Union #495 in Steubenville, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Father-Son Hunting Club in North Industry. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Hinkel; two sisters, Myrtle Pope and Pearl Wyatts; and his long time friend, Ed Adolph. Survivors include his devoted wife, Beverly J. (Reed) Hinkel of the home; three sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Hinkel, Lester Hinkel and Terry and Leanne Hinkel, all of Canton; three daughters and son-in-law, Joan and Terry Mosley of Akron, Carol Hinkel and Patricia Hinkel, both of Canton; his brother, Paul Jake Hinkel of Canton; two sisters, Dorothy Selig of Canton and Rita Machan of Florida; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. There will be calling hours prior to services on Monday 6-8 p.m. His wishes were to be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Dialysis Center in Canton.

Gayton R. Meola
Gayton Gates R. Meola, age 80, of Canton, passed away early Friday morning after a lengthy illness. A life resident of Canton, he was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and an avid Bulldogs fan. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Canton, Holy Name Society of St. Anthony Church, Catholic Order of Foresters Court #1358, and a member of the Stark County Bowling Association Board of Directors. An Army veteran of World War II, he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and a Presidential Citation for wounds received in battle. He retired from the Hoover Company after 33 years of service. Gates was an avid fisherman, bowler, golfer and Cleveland Indians fan. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Columba Meola; wife, Adele (Nasiff) Meola in 1998; brother, Marco; and sister, Marie. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Jeannie Battista of Canton, Marianne and David Rowles of Louisville. He was a very loving and special Grandpa to Christina and Katie Rowles, Brittney Battista, Anna and Angela Battista, Cheryl Manse, Laura Morgan and great-grandpa of four. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Betty Meola of North Canton; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Bill Davis. Friends may call MONDAY 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church of Canton with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Louise A. Lamborn
Louise A. Lamborn, RN, of Shady Lawn died April 11, 2002. She was born June 6, 1911, graduated from McKinley High School in 1929, and Aultman School of Nursing in 1932. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church of East Canton, Lady Elks #68, and Dandy Lions. Survived by sons, David J. Lamborn of Winston-Salem, NC., and Clifford E. Lamborn of Massillon; brother, Harvey W. Zaiser of Canton; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Norman E. Lamborn in 1984; brother, Ray W. Zaiser in 1988; sister, Pauline M. Dartt in 1986. A Memorial service will be conducted Monday in Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW. at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church of East Canton, 108 E. Walnut St., East Canton, OH. 44730

M. Marie Hibbitts. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. David Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Melvin E. Patterson
Melvin Edward Patterson, age 32, of Canton, died Thursday evening following a motorcycle accident near Zanesville, OH. He was born on May 4, 1969 in Massillon and lived in the Canton area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Bud Patterson and grandmothers, Betty Jean Butler and Margaret Cunningham. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Patterson; brothers, Arthur and James Patterson and stepsisters, Mildred Yarchek and Brenda Patterson, all of Canton. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home with Salvation Army Capt. James Betts officiating. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. to the time of services. Melvin will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions, payable to the Reed Funeral Home, to assist with funeral expenses.

Rae Dudley
Rae Dudley, age 73, passed away at the Lesh Millville residence home in Canton on Wednesday evening. Rae was born in Canton on June 18, 1928 to the late Percy and Selena Dudley. Rae was retired from MRDD Workshops at Whipple-Dale Centre. Rae loved to laugh and make people laugh. She loved to give hugs. Rae will be greatly missed by her surrogate family, her friends and the staff at Lesh Millville and MRDD. A memorial service will be held at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville on Tuesday morning at 11:30. Following the service a memorial tree planting ceremony will be held at the Lesh Millville home at 4230 Lesh Avenue NE.

Richard G. Stalnaker, age 80, passed away April 12, 2002, after a long illness. Wesley Bryant Clark
Wesley Bryant Clark, age 81, of Canton, passed away Friday morning following a brief illness in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Stow, OH, to the late John Ernest and Margaret Louise (Bryant) Clark. For 10 years until retirement, he was employed by the City of Akron Tax Department as a tax auditor. A veteran of the Army during World War II. He was a very involved member of the Lion's Club, both in Perry Twp. and the city of Stow, where he held the office of Councilman-at-large and Council President. A member of the Stow Republican Club, he held the position as the Ward Chairman for the Republican Party of Akron and Stow. He was a Notary Public, a Free and Accepted Mason and an appraiser for the Probate Court in Stow. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Jean Clark in 1973; four sisters, Betty Clark, Barbara Sues, Isabel Tibby Pincoff and Mary Clark. Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Cheryl Kilter of Canton; one grandson, William Bryant Kilter of Canton; two granddaughters, Tamara Jean Kilter of Springfield, OH, Jennifer Dianne Kilter of North Canton; one great-grandson, Trent Nathaniel Perkins of Springfield; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Stow City Cemetery, Stow, OH with Rev. Ray Tucker officiating. Burial to follow. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Perry Twp. Lion's Club or the Stark County Humane Society.

Wilma I. Watson
Wilma I. Watson, age 92, formerly of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning in WeCare Nursing Home in Wildwood, FL. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late William and Susan Bowman Black, and had been a Wildwood resident several years, previously residing in Napoleon, OH, many years. She and her late husband had owned and operated Watson-Lash Hardware in Napoleon. Preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Watson, on Feb. 3, 1990. Mrs. Watson is survived by great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in North Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Charles Ulmer officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Louis Mahshie. Calling hours will be Sunday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the ROSSI Funeral Home and also on Monday one hour at the church, 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Janice L. DeStefano
Janice L. (Morledge) DeStefano, went home to be with the Lord, April 7, 2002. Born in Canton, OH, March 1, 1929 to the late, Howard and Clara Morledge. Moving to Ft. Thomas, KY, she resided in Unico, TN since 1989. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George DeStefano; siblings, Merriam Shinkle, JoElaine Arnold and Howard Morledge, jr. Survivors include sisters, Dorothy Kropp of Massillon, Betty Grindstaff of Unico, TN; 14 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and nephews; 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Ft. Thomas, KY. Memorial can be made to United Methodist Church, Unico, TN 37692.
