Clarence L. Floom
Clarence L. Floom, age 91, formerly of Dotwood St. NW, North Canton, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in Rose Lane Health Care Center. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and a Charter Member of North Canton Eagles, Aerie #2323. He was retired from the Hoover Company, and was well known for his gardening expertise. Survived by his daughters, Dona Marie Whitmyer of Uniontown, and Sherrie B. Hoskins of Canton; sons, Laurence A. Floom of Massillon, Steven P. Floom and Clarence M. (Bud) Floom, both of Canton; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Lois (Stoner) Floom in 1996; daughter, Thomisa Frank in 2000; son, William (Billy) Floom in 1944; and grandson, William Floom in 1996. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, at a time to be announced in Thursdays notice, in St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Rudjak officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Karlo Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church, 241 S. Doris Ann Ward
Doris Ann Stout (Riggs) Ward, age 53, died Monday evening following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born June 15, 1948, in Spencer, WV., to the late Elmer and Gladys Stout. Preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Eva Riggs, Kenneth Riggs, Denzil and Debbie Riggs all of Canton; and two daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer M. Guy and Sissy and Pete Murutes of Canton; there is a special nephew and best friend, Josh Stout; special niece, just like a daughter, Tammy Kelly of Canton; special granddaughter and best friend, Misty Rae Louise Guy; granddaughters, Stephanie, Rachel, Charity and Angel; grandsons, Kenneth, Gene, Bradley, Alex, Bryan, Jeremy, Keith, Shawn and Tony; special brother, and best friend, James (Stella) Stout of Canton; sisters, Elizabeth (Les) Weaver of Canton, Sharon Alzboun of Louisville, Vicky Zortman of Louisville and Michelle Bronson of Fort Wayne, IN; there are numerous relatives and friends also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Wednesday (TONIGHT) 7-9 p.m.

Doris J. Greaser. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Dr. Raymond Rich
Dr. Raymond Rich, age 79, formerly of Canton and more recently of Moose Haven Retirement Center, Orange Park, FL., died early Monday morning in Florida. Born October 7, 1922, in Monessen, PA., to the late Carl and Mary Rich. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Canton, Our Lady of Lords Council, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus; Canton Moose Lodge #233 and was a retired Chiropractor having retired in 2001 after 45 years in practice. Preceded in death by wife, Beatrice, on July 16, 1989, with whom he had celebrated 44 years of marriage. Survivors include one son, Raymond C. Rich of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Michael Domancsik of Canton; and one sister, Jean Appell of McKeesport, PA. A funeral mass was celebrated in Florida. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens for the family. Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1602 Market Ave. S., Canton, OH 44707.

Elsie L. Adair
Elsie L. Adair. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour before services. The family suggests memorials be made to Aultman Hospice. And a special thanks to nurses, Ellen and Brenda.

Eunice I. Frederick
Eunice I. Frederick, age 87, of East Rochester, died April 1, 2002 at 10 p.m. in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. She was born August 30, 1914, in Cleveland, OH, to Howard and Elizabeth (Alldridge) Hawkins. She was a housewife and had worked as a secretary for Burrow's Book Store in Cleveland for seven years, was a member of the Church of the Open Bible in Bedford, was a 1933 graduate of Shaw High School in Cleveland, and attended Spencerian Business College in Cleveland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Frederick who died March 22, 1999. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Penny Frederick of Hartville; a sister, Doris Weed of Louisville; a grandson and wife, David and Megan Frederick of East Rochester. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Rex Cain officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Church of the Open Bible in Bedford, OH.

Frank C. Cordia, Jr.
Frank C. Cordia, Jr., age 78, of Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning in Aultman Hospital Emergency Room following a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 17, 1923 in Canton to the late Frank C. and Charlotte (Dickerhoof) Cordia, Sr. He retired in 1981 from Halls Trucking, where he was employed as a truck driver for 40 years. Member of Teamsters Local #92 and a World War II Army veteran. Survived by his wife, Edith F. (McCarty), whom he married Sept. 27, 1943; four daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret E. and Loren Mahaffey of Navarre, Penny Ann and Allen Stoneman, Jeannie J. and Rick Hashman, Mary Ann Guthrie, all of Canton; five sons and daughters-in-law, William Lee of East Sparta, Robert C., John M. and Angel, Raymond D., all of Canton, Phillip Paul and Holly of Magnolia; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Frank D.; a daughter, Charlotte M.; brother, Robert L. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home with Rev. Lance Lindenberger officiating. Friends may call Thursday 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Warstler Cemetery.

Harry Edward Keagy. A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at The First Baptist Church in Canton with Kevin E. Slyh, Pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be held in Warstler Cemetery Friday at 9 a.m. The family suggests memorials be made to The Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.

Harry Jim Beadle
Harry Jim Beadle, age 64, of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center, following a massive heart attack. A life resident of Canton, he was a retired employee from LTV Steel. Preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Magdalene Beadle; and a brother, Jay Beadle. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Beadle of the residence; son, Matthew J. Beadle of Canton; granddaughter, Desiree; sister, Mary Jo Mullins of Heath, OH; three brothers, Gary, Tom, and Glenn Beadle all of Canton. Funeral Service will be Friday 10 a.m. in the Spike-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 710 Tuscarawas St W. with Fr. John R. Nentwick officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Helen M. Breedlove
Helen Margaret Breedlove. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Patricia Breedlove of Canton. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Canton Baptist Temple with Dr. Harold Henniger and Rev. Robert Greer, Jr. officiating. Calling hours Wednesday (tonight) 6-8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Camp CHOF in care of Canton Baptist Temple.

John White
John White, age 77, of North Canton, OH, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in the home of his son in Dublin, OH. Born on July 5, 1924 in Baggley, PA. He graduated from Lincoln High in 1943, where he was a standout football player. That year he joined the Army to serve in World War II. He was a PFC in Battery B, 17th Field Artillery Observation Battalion and fought on the front lines at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars and one bronze Arrowhead. John was a graduate of Ohio University and worked for Ford Motor Company for 38 years. He was a member of Elks 2029 and enjoyed bowling and golf. John was truly a great man, who was respected by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his father, Joseph (Giuseppe Bianchi) White; mother, Rose O. Frigley; and brother, James (Jim) White. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Goldie S. White; three sons, Dr. John C. White of Solon, OH, James White of Dublin, OH, and Dr. Brian White of Kent, OH; their wives and six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Carl Nehlen of Canton; sister-in-law, Norma White of North Industry; 18 nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home at 512 S. Main St. in North Canton. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 7762 Frank Ave. in North Canton. Margaret A. Kilbride
Margaret Ann (Muhlhauser) Kilbride, 79, of Canal Fulton, OH, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Aultman Hospital, Canton. Memorial service Friday, April 5, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Central Presbyterian Church, 47 2nd St. NE, Massillon, OH with Revs. Larry Lalama and Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Private burial has taken place at Union Cemetery, Canal Fulton, OH.

Margaret Evans
Margaret (Peg) Villee Evans completed her time here on earth on Sunday, March 24, 2002. Margaret Villee was born in Lancaster, PA on April 22, 1908. She lived a remarkable and love filled life as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher in the Stow School District and a good friend to many at Lake Mohawk in Malvern, OH. Her deep belief in the importance of family, education and the power of payer will be her legacy to all who have known her during her almost 94 years on this earth. Harry Evans, her beloved husband of over 64 years died in February, 1994. Survived by daughter, Nancy Evans Kensicki of Bowie, MD; sons, Bruce D. Evans of Dallas, TX, Henry B. Evans of Huntingtown, MD, David E. Evans of Arlington, TX; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. in First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, 601 Pleasant Ridge, Mansfield, TX. Memorials in lieu of flowers, please make a financial contribution to the Harry M. and Margaret Villee Evans Journalism Awards Fund, Development Office, Gallaudet University, 8th and Florida Ave. NE., Washington, DC 20002.

Margaret G. Dressel
Margaret G. (Davies) Dressel, age 94, of 11600 Lisbon Rd., Salem (Green Twp., Greenford, OH), died at 11:10 p.m. Sat. March 30, 2002 following a lengthy illness, at her home. She was born on February 16, 1908 in Alliance, OH, to the late William and Viva (Earle) Davies. She has lived in Greenford area for 66 years, coming from North Lima and Alliance. She was a member of the Greenford Lutheran Church where she had been an organist and sang in the choir. She retired in 1974 from the South Range School System as a teacher with 30 years of service in teaching. She had taught in the Ellsworth, Berlin-Western Reserve and South Range School Systems. She was a member of the National Retired and Ohio Retired Teaching Association, American University Woman, AARP, Greenford Library Association Dublin Grange, Mahoning County Retired Teachers, Salem Eastern Star, Aut Mori Caldron. She is survived by her son, Robert Dressel of Canton; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death on March 4, 1983 by her husband, Ralph J. Dressel; a son, William Dressel; four brothers, Donald, Clair, Robert, Eugene Davies; a grandson, Richard Dressel. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Greenford Lutheran Church with the Pastor Elizabeth Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Lutheran Church Cemetery on Rt. 165. Calling hours will be on Wednesday (today) from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Greenford Library Association, The Memorial Fund of the Church or the Hospice of the Valley.

Martha B. Bankert
Martha B. Bankert, age 91, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday evening in Aultman Hospital. She was born in East Canton, a daughter of the late John and Anna Mae Rebillot Rice, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1935. Mrs. Bankert was a member of Waynesburg United Methodist Church and the Auxiliary of the Waynesburg Fire Dept. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Norman W. Pete Bankert, on March 7, 1999, a son-in-law, Wayne Russell in 1995, a grandson, Bradley Russell, in 1959, three sisters and three brothers, Dorothy Fry, Mildred Rice, Helen Clapper, Donald, Paul and Lawrence Rice. Survived by her daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Jackie Russell, of Malvern; her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Darlene Bankert, of Magnolia; two grandchildren, Rick L. Russell Sr. and his wife, Debra of Camas, WA., Tammy McDermott and her husband, Jim of Malvern; five great-grandchildren, Tawni and Rick Russell, Jr., James, Tyler, and Justine McDermott; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Sis Williams, of Massillon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Stella Rice, and Eugene and Angie Rice, all of East Canton. Services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Myrtle A. Buchanan, age 95, of Canton, died Sunday, March 31, 2002 in Aultman Hospital. She was a member of Free Methodist Church in Canton. Survived by her daughter, Anna Buckius; son, Ronald Bruce Buchanan; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Ruby Buchanan; daughters and sons-in-law, Alma and James Shannon and Brose and Nancy Anderson, all of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Joan Buchanan of Disney, OK; brothers, Ronald Young of Minneapolis, NC and Claude and Paul Young of Hemet, CA; sisters, Ruby Fields of Roan Mountain, TN and Kathy Rossbow of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister-in-law, Violet Young of Sunbright, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Novella (Erwin) Young; husband, Samuel E. Buchanan in 1976; sons, Lesley R. in 1924 and Earl D. in 1968; brother, Roscoe Young; two grandsons; and two granddaughters. Nancy Jane Lucas
Nancy Jane Lucas, also survived by two sisters, Cathy Sanor of Minerva and Donna Jackson of Salem. Funeral services at the Bartley Funeral Home will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Susan Lausch officiating. Calling hours informally 2-4 p.m., and with the family present at 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday (today). As per her wishes cremation will follow the service on Thursday.

Robert Garfield
Robert Arthur Garfield, age 77, of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2002 in his home. Born in Canton he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Garfield. A World War II Air Force Veteran, he had worked for the Babcock and Wilcox Company. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton and U.F.O. Club of Akron. Preceded in death by two nephews, Tim and Dan Garfield. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Gerry Garfield of Canton; sister, Alice (Garfield) Byrne of Franklin Park, Chicago, IL; three nieces and a nephew. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini as celebrant. Burial with full Military Honors in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. Friends may call Friday 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Earl B. Jack Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Susan Elaine Reagan
Susan Elaine Reagan, age 37, died Monday April 1, 2002 in Lakewest Hospital, in Willoughby, OH. She was born April 17, 1964 in Bay Village, OH. She won many wheel chair races at the Special Olympics in which she competed. Susan graduated from special classes at Canton-McKinley High School. She smiled brightly and waved to the audience while proudly wearing her red cap and gown during the ceremony. She loved celebrations and parties and spending time with her family and friends. She was truly God's Angel sent from above, she had a heart full of joy and a spirit of love. In spite of her disabilities, she fought for her beliefs and her courage and the pure joy she radiated softened the hearts of everyone who met her. She was the beloved daughter of Terrence P. and Elaine (nee Belsole) Reagan; sister of Michele A. (Reagan) Alvey of Willoughby, OH., Rhonda R. (Stephen) Burns of Hollis, NY., T.J. Reagan of Willoughby, OH; granddaughter of the late Brendon and Marcella Reagan, Mary Belsole of Avon Lake, OH., and the late Albert Belsole; aunt of Alexis Alvey, Reagan, Stephanie, Caroline and Max Terrence Burns; nieces of Albert and Sandi Belsole, Joyce Afrates, Robert and Kathy Belsole, Richard and Vickie Belsole, Paul and Dimeen Stack, Brendon and Mary Jo Reagan; and special friend, Sally Heckman. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 37950 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH., with Fr. Francis D. Curran officiating. Family will receive friends at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Wallace E. Reichard
Wallace E. Gene Reichard, age 84, of Massillon, died early Tuesday morning in Rose Lane Health Center following a brief illness. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Massillon and was retired from the Timken Co. Preceded in death by his wife, Roselee F. Reichard on April 25, 1997. He is survived by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Garden. Calling hours in the funeral home Thursday 7-9 p.m.
