Corinne C. Dellego
Corinne C. Dellego, 92, of Bolivar, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Hennis Care Centre and Assisted Living Centre in Bolivar following an extended illness.
Born at Midvale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Jane Gracy Ricketts.
Corinne was a 1927 graduate of Uhrichsville High School, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Church in Roswell and former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Albert D. Staley, who died in 1941, and her second husband, Jerry G. Dellego, in 1987. Surviving are a son, David (Donna) Staley of Carrollton; two granddaughters, Cathy (Allen) Corbett of New Philadelphia and Cheryl (John) Daughdrille of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard and Mary Huff of New Philadelphia; a nephew, Fred (Marjorie) R. Ricketts of Columbus; several great-nieces and nephews; and two cousins, Esther Lerch and Elbert Rentsch, both of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. Stuart Barr officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, anytime after 2 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Janice L. Aduddell
Janice L. Aduddell, 62, of Brewster died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in Altercare of Navarre following a brief illness.
She was born in Massillon on April 2, 1939, to the late William R. and Jacqueline J. Sanders Ricoski and had lived in Brewster for the last 28 years. She was employed by the Brewster Elementary School as a substitute aide and monitor for the past eight years and was the PTO treasurer. She was a member and past officer of the Massillon Mothers of Twins since 1959, a social member of the Beach City AMVETS Post 125 and the Massillon AMVETS Post 12.
On Sept. 14, 1973, she married Jack E. Aduddell Sr. He died June 14, 1990.
She is survived by twin daughters, Mrs. Charles (Kelly) Skelly of Brewster and Mrs. Michael (Kim) Duke of Massillon; a son, Ron (Linda) Van Horn of Navarre; her granddaughter, Jaqueta Van Horn, whom she adopted at the age of 8, of Brewster; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gary (Denise) Hershberger of Wooster; three stepsons, Jack (Sharon) Aduddell of Wooster, Keith (Kathy) Aduddell of Millersburg and Robert (Connie) Aduddell of Wooster; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Karen) Lautzenheiser of Justus and Hazel Keinath of Beach City; a brother, William (Brenda) Ricoski of Beach City; and a lifelong friend, Glenna Hetherington of Colorado. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Van Horn.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with Rev. Robert Piatt officiating. Burial will be in the Welty Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kenneth Longacher
Kenneth E. Longacher, 74, of 1928 South NW (Parral), Dover, O., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, near Montgomery, Ala., while vacationing.
Born Dec. 12, 1927, in Parral, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Rufener Longacher.
He retired as a plant engineer for the former Shenango Company in Dover where he worked for over 44 years.
Kenny was a member of the St. Paul’s (Ruslin Hills) United Church of Christ in Dover. He was a life member of the Dover Elks Lodge, member of the Tuscarawas County YMCA and the Pine Hill Hunting Club. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Crites Longacher, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on Oct. 4. He is also survived by one daughter, Joan (Todd) Chumney of Dover and Brad (Kristi) Longacher of Dover; five grandchildren, Steve, Lindy and Kristy Scott and Mike and Bill Longacher; two sisters, Esther “Sis” (Maurice) Froman of Bolivar and Elda Mizer of Dover; one brother, Lester “Bud” (Eloise) Longacher of Parral; one sister-in-law, Kay (Larry) Tedrick of New Philadelphia; and one brother-in-law, T. James (Florence) Crites of Clearwater, Fla., along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Longacher; one brother, Oscar Longacher; and two sisters, Frieda Kohl and Mabel Dreher.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dover Burial Park with Rev. C. Edwin Houk officiating. There are no calling hours. John E. Lawver
John E. Lawver, 80, of 431 Wood Ave., Newcomerstown, O., died Monday, March 4, 2002, in Union Hospital at Dover. Born Dec. 27, 1921, at Bakersville, O., he was a son of the late Crystal (McCormick) Law-ver and Roy Curtis Lawver. He was a 1940 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and was a World War II Army veteran.
From 1949 to 1954, he worked for the Tuscarawas County Sheriff Department. From 1954 to 1985, he was Newcomerstown Chief of Police.
Lawver was an executive committeeman of the Ohio Assn. of Chiefs of Police, District 6. He served as president of the Ohio Chiefs of Police Assn., was on the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Jail Standards and was a member of Elks, American Legion, Ohio Assn. of Chiefs of Police and Fraternal Order of Police.
Over the years, Lawver has enjoyed traveling, yard work, gardening, raising flowers and spending time with family and grandchildren.
On June 3, 1944, he married Jean Thurman Lawver, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Stocker and husband Dan of New Philadelphia, Laurie Carretta and husband Keith of Bolivar; two grandchildren, Tiffany Stocker and Benjamin Carretta; three brothers, Marvin Lawver and wife June and Carl Lawver, all of Newcomerstown, and Harold Lawver and wife Sharon of Plainfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Lawver of Newcomerstown; a close family friend, JoAnn Hannahs and husband Donald of Newcomerstown; three stepbrothers, Doyle E. Stafford and James D. Stafford, both of Midvale, Ray Stafford of North Carolina; and two stepsisters, Betty Stafford and Bonnie LaBelle, both of California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Lawver; one sister, Bernice Lawver; one sister-in-law, Cora Lawver; and two stepbrothers, Willard and Robert Stafford.
Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2002, beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Treat officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O., with military graveside services conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Organizations. Maxine M. Datz
Maxine M. Datz, 73, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Alliance, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at 11:40 a.m. in Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Born at Salem, O., Aug. 23, 1928, she was a daughter of James Harvey and Gladys Weigand McNeal. On May 4, 1973, she married Clinton K. Datz of Newcomerstown, who survives.
She was a member of the First Church of God and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 166 of Alliance. She was a homemaker.
The family is saddened by her death, but know she is in a better place.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Mrs. Jess (Linda) Kittle of Greentown, O., and Valerie Datz of Alliance; two sons, Paul Ambler and Kristofer Datz, both of Newcomerstown; stepson, Albert Ambler of Newcomerstown; five grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; sisters, Wilma King of Beloit, O., and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Fletcher of Alliance, O.; brothers, Lester (Jean) McNeal and Herbert (Judy) McNeal, both of Sebring, O.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Ambler; her brothers, James McNeal and Floyd McNeal; and her second husband, Albert Ambler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2002, at 1 p.m. in Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, O., with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Richard F. Reed
Richard F. Reed, 77, of 74 Wisconsin St., Hamilton, O., died Friday, March 8, 2002, at 2:37 a.m. in Jewish Hospital Kenwood at Sycamore Township, O., following a sudden illness.
He was born Sept. 9, 1924, to the late Paul F. and Ruth Brunner Reed. He married Dorothy J. Hasseman Reed, who survives, on Aug. 25, 1946.
He is survived by wife Dorothy J. Hasseman Reed; two sons, David Reed and wife Janet of Cincinnati and Daniel Reed of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Diane Reed of Weed, Calif. and Robert Reed of Cincinnati; a brother, John P. Reed of Uhrichsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father Paul F. Reed, mother Ruth Brunner Reed Schug, and two brothers, Ted and Robert Reed.
He lived in Hamilton for five years. Before moving to Hamilton, he had been a life resident of Uhrichsville. He was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in 1942 and attended Ohio University and Franklin University. He was a member of Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church.
Richard was a devoted husband and father who lovingly cared for his family. As a hobby, he was a cigar aficionado and cultivator of roses. He was a member of the American Legion. A veteran, he served his country in the Army during World War II.
Richard was a certified public accountant. He also had been the owner of the former Nightingale Nursing Home at Uhrichsville.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2002, in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home Inc. at Dennison, O., with Rev. Steve Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery at Gnadenhutten, O. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002 in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home.

Dorothy Maurer
Dorothy Maurer, 74, of 203 Short St., Baltic, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at 6 p.m. in Baltic Country Manor after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 7, 1928, in Harrison County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lucy Willison Carruthers.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ at Fiat.
Her husband, Ernest A. Maurer, whom she married Aug. 3, 1946, preceded her in death on April 17, 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Edith) Farver of Fresno and Mrs. Clyde (Connie) Toland of Baltic; three sons, Albert “Mike” (Kathy) Maurer of Baltic, Ronald Maurer and Ernest Maurer, both of Fresno; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Carruthers of New Philadelphia and James (Pearl) Carruthers of Orlando, Fla.; and three sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Arlene) Owens of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Leale (Mary) Anderson of Wooster and Mrs. William (Bertha) Phipps of Sugarcreek. Two sisters and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Rev. Greg Clay and Rev. Welton Stein will officiate, and burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery at Baltic. Friends may call Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 in the Smith Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Dortha L. Eggleston
Dortha L. Eggleston, 73, of 308 Pearl St., Newcomerstown, O., died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Union Hospital at Dover, O.
She was born March 31, 1928, at Newcomerstown, O., a daughter of the late Ernest A. and Dora (Bourne) Couts.
She was a 1945 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and was a retired laborer from Kurz-Kasch Inc. of Newcomerstown after 28 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose at Newcomerstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia M. Hanel of Newcomerstown; one son, Jeffrey G. Eggleston and wife Kelly of Newcomerstown; three grandchildren, Lacy Hanel, Joseph Eggleston and Eric Baker; two great-grandchildren, Chase Hunter Eggleston and Keegan Taylor Eggleston; one sister, Virginia Landis of West Lafayette; two brothers, William Couts and wife Jane, and Glenn Couts, all of Newcomerstown. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Walter Couts, and one sister, Eva Couts.

Cindy L. Nichols
Cindy L. (Pharis) Nichols, age 51, of Minerva died Sunday morning, April 7, 2002, in her home in Minerva following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1950, in Alliance to Frances Dominick and the late Ronald Lutton. She had worked at the Minerva Leader for many years as an editor, photographer and writer and was a patrolman for the Minerva Police Department. She was a member of the Minerva First Christian Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher for many years. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1968 and the Police Academy. She was a member of the Minerva Police Auxiliary and was active in the Cops Christmas for Kids.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Nichols, who died Aug. 29, 2000.
She is survived by a daughter and husband, Michelle and Darren Zwick of Minerva; a son and wife, Joseph and Deborah Pharis of Minerva; mother and stepfather, Frances and Archie Brumfield of Parrish, Fla.; a sister and husband, Karen and Stanley Pennock of Minerva; a brother and wife, Ronald and Sara Lutton Jr. of West Chester, Pa.; two grandchildren, Caitlin Pharis of Minerva and Kirsten Zwick of Minerva.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Minerva First Christian Church with Mr. Ralph Norman and Mr. Arthur Guy officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Minerva. Calling hours will be Tuesday (today) from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
