Andrew R. Bryden
Andrew R. Bryden, age 82, of Massillon, OH, passed away Friday evening, February 15, 2002 in the Hanover House following an extended illness. Born in Paisley, Scotland, December 22, 1919, to his parents the late Thomas and Mary Bryden, he lived most of his life in the Canton area and was a retired employee of the Timken Co., retiring August 1981 after 41 years of service. He was inducted in the Greater Canton Amateur Sport Hall of Fame, was volunteer fireman for 15 years with the Perry Twp. Fire Department and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, Pacific Theater. During his career with the Army, he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Besides his parents, he was preceded indeath by his son, Thomas Bryden in 1972 and his first wife, Sarah Bryden in 1974, his sister, Elizabeth McGeehon. Survivors include is wife, Pearl P. Bryden of the home to whom he was married 25 years; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ron Dalpiaz of Dover, OH; his stepson and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Hasch of Bel Air, Maryland; his granddaughter, Emily Dalpiaz of Dover, OH; and two step grandchildren, Bruce Hasch of Orange, TX, Cindy Doran of Edgewood, MD. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Road S.W., Canton, with Rev. James Scott officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m.

Bernice S. Ensley
Bernice S. (Lelakus) Ensley. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Fr. Matthew M. Herttna officiating. Calling hours Sunday one hour prior to services on Sunday 2-3 p.m. At her request, her body will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc.

Bettie J. Gue
Bettie J. Gue, age 82, of Clearwater, FL., formerly of Navarre, passed away Thursday February 14, 2002 in Sable Palms of Clearwater, FL., from a lengthy illness. She was born March 15, 1919, in Navarre, OH, and moved to Florida in 1980. She is a retired teacher from Dalton Public Schools. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary (Butz) Angerer; husband, Roger S. Gue, May 21, 1988; son, Michael D. Gue; brother, Bennie B. Angerer; and sister, Marian Coyne. Bettie is survived by three sons, Roger Gregory (Catherine) Gue of Amarillo, TX, Timothy Donald Gue of Navarre, OH., Terrence Ronald (Rose) Gue of Massillon, OH; former daughter-in-law, Paula Gue of Canton, OH; sister, Mrs. Norma Rehock of Lawndale, CA; brother, Ronald Angerer of Navarre, OH; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Navarre at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2002 with Rev. John R. Long officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service.

Carmelita J. (Ciprian) Bodway, age 84, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon at Arbors of Canton. Arrangements are pending with the Rossi Funeral Home. Full obituary in Monday's paper.

Charles R. Turner
Charles R. Turner, age 70, of North Canton, died Thursday in Mercy Medical Center. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was retired from Babcock Wilcox Research Center in Alliance and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, North Canton, Aircraft Owners Pilots Associations, and was North Canton Midget Football League coach for many years. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances M. (Flood) Turner of the home; sons and daughters-in-laws, Michael W. and Sandra L. Turner, Douglas S. and Suzanne D. Turner, and Richard C. and Susie K. turner; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen M. Rose and Friend Alan Boswood, Annette M. and Charles J. Skolnik, and Beth M. and John G. Krinock; grandchildren, Jennifer S. Turner, Jeffrey J. Turner, Shawn C. Rose, Amy M. Rose, Ryan D. Turner, Kevin R. Turner, Stephanie A. Hendershot, Evan J. Krinock, Shane M. Krinock, Jason Hinson, and Shawn Hinson; mother-in-law, Pearl H. Flood; cousin, Jeannie Barth; sisters, Shirley Chipps, and Bernice Ritchie; brother, Frank G. Flood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Elberta E. and Frank A. Turner; brother, John A. Turner; father-in-law, Frank G. Flood; and sister, Betty J. Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. David L. Goe
David L. Goe, age 74, of Canton, OH, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, February 15, 2002 in Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton, OH, April 4, 1927, to his parents the late William and Cora Goe. He was a retired veteran of the United States Airforce retiring March 1975 after 25 years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and three terms in the Vietnam Conflict. Following his military retirement, he was an employee of Proteco Auto Center, Topps Chalet and Four Winds Restaurant. He was a member of the VFW Post #44. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. (Brownlee) Goe, January 17, 1997, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Opal and Richard Harris of Columbus, OH; his son and daughter-in-law, David (Scott) and Stacey Goe of Canton, OH; his foster son, Willis M. Leavitt of Norfolk, VA; one brother, George (Sammy) Jackson of Canton; his sister, Ruth of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 2 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Slyh officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday 1-2 p.m. At his request, his body will be cremated following the services. Doris J. Chandler
Doris J. Chandler, age 68, of Canton, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Rendville, OH, November 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. (Sr.) and Margaret L. Smith. She spent most of her life in Canton and was retired from Social Security Administration. She was affiliated with the Apostolic Holiness Church. Preceded in death by her ex-husband, Merle B. Chandler, Sr. in 2001, son, Merle B. (Jr.) Butch in 1992 and sister, Sylvia F. Smith. She is survived by sons, Steven D. and David A. Chandler of Canton; one grandson, Keith Chandler of Seaside, CA; sister, Donna L. Newman of Canton; brothers, Thomas E. Smith and Robert W. Smith both of Canton and Raymond A. Smith Jr. of Kimbolton, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Mayle officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Dorsey Norris
Dorsey Norris, age 96, of East Canton, passed away Friday morning at home. Born Nov. 26, 1905 in Grafton, WV, and had lived in Canton most of his life. He was employed for Republic Steel Corp. and AA Knox Construction both of Canton, retiring in 1965. Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sarah (Mayle) Norris, his first wife, Vivian (Mayle) Norris and his second wife, Bernice Norris, two daughters, Yvonne Threm, Victoria Minard and two sons, Billy Norris and Junior Norris. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Vera Mayle of Youngstown, Connie Jo and Larry Hiple of Bolivar; two sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Donna Norris of East Canton and Harley Haines of Waynesburg; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Mrs. Norris will be sadly missed by family, friends and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Crystal Park Wesleyan Church of Canton. Edwin E. Bergmeyer
Edwin E. Bergmeyer, age 87, of Canton, died early Saturday morning in the Laurels of Massillon, following an extended illness. Life resident of Canton, Mr. Bergmeyer retired from the Timken Company where he was a Steel Analyst. He was a member of the International Order of Foresters, Pro-arts, and the Timken Retirees. Preceded in death by a brother, Harold Bergmeyer, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Bergmeyer; two sons, Ronald (Sandy) Bergmeyer and Terry Bergmeyer both of Canton; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave NW, with Rev. Doug Wills officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Francis E. Brown
Francis E. Brownie Brown, age 71, of Louisville, passed away early Saturday morning Feb. 16, 2002, in his home. He was born July 23, 1930, in Louisville, OH to the late Clyde and Freda (Miller) Brown. Brownie was a self employed dairy farmer and milk hauler in the Louisville area and a school bus driver in Louisville for 23 years. He served in the Army, was a member of the Nimishillen Grange and the Louisville F.O.E. #2374. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte (Kraft) in 1986, and one sister, Miriam Carper. Survived by his wife, Hannelore; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Marshall of Louisville, Kathy and Derik Dolphin of Salem; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Stephanie Brown, Robert and Peggy Brown, all of Louisville; one brother, Clyde Brown Jr. of Louisville; six grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Tina Cochenour of Canton, Margaret Campbell and Leni Giavasis, both of Denver, CO; three stepsons, George and Phil Giavasis of Canton and Nick Giavasis of Denver, CO; and numerous step grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Louisville. Freda Glaser
Freda Glaser, age 93, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning February 14, 2002, in Manor Care Nursing Center. Born June 29, 1908 in Pittsburgh to the late Coleman and Etta (Gross) Davis. Freda was loved and adored by all who loved her. As a parent, grandparent and great-grandparent, she was more than you could ever love. As a friend, she was the one you could count on to always be there. Everyone she touched will miss her. She retired from Kaufmans. She was a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue, Shaaray Torah Sisterhood, Retirees of O'Neils, Canton Senior Citizens, Canton Jewish Community Center and Hadassah. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolph. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Jim Jolly; son and close companion, David Glaser and Pamela Boggs; grandchildren and spouse, Heather and Matthew Thomas, Robert Jolly and fiancee', Jennifer Gelfand, Russell Glaser and Eileen Glaser. Her most precious possessions were great-grandsons, Peyton and Spencer Thomas. Also survived by two brothers, Herman David and Joseph Davis; two sisters and brother-in-law, Annette and Gus Szabo and Fran Massel. Services will be held Wednesday February 20, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home with Rabbi Spitzer officiating. Interment in Canton Hebrew Cemetery. He was a graduate of Bowling Green State, University receiving his Masters Degree from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. Member of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. Irene A. Eckroate, age 90, of Canal Fulton, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Knapp Medical Center, Weslaco, Texas after a brief illness. She was born in Massillon and had resided in the Canal Fulton area her entire life. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Hill and Hollow Garden Club. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and (Richard) Keatley of Canal Fulton; two sisters, Marjorie Vansickle of North Canton and Elsie Breitenstine of Canton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Alice (Wiese) Ramsire, her husband, Emanuel Eckroate (1981), two sisters, Grace Le Beau and Helen Rupple, two brothers, Clarence and Ralph Ramsire. Funeral services will be at Heitger Funeral Service-Massillon Chapel on Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 at 1 p.m. with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton. Iva Jewel Riffle
Iva Jewel Riffle, age 72, of Louisville, OH, passed away Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Pulaski, Virginia on April 27, 1929, she had been a resident of the Canton area since 1955. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the Alliance Church of God and more recently attended the Altergate United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Annie Melton and a brother, Junior Melton. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Rebecca Shipwash of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Terry Winters of Canton and Sherri Lindsey of Seattle, WA; stepson, David Riffle of Canton; step daughter, Kay Shackle of Galion, OH; four grandchildren, Terry Winters Jr., Sandra Varner, Sharon Bowman and Stacy Fretwell; three great-grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers. Lela E. Linhart, age 85, of Alliance, passed away Friday morning Feb. 15, 2002, at McCrea Manor Nursing Center, Alliance. She was born July 2, 1916, in Robertsville, OH, to the late James and Erma (Walker) Finefrock. Lela was Vice President of Linhart Motors in Alliance and later retired from Rodman Public Library as a Librarian. She was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alliance, the Church choir and the Alliance Music Study Club. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur N. Linhart in 1984, daughter, Marilyn Torkanowsky, one sister, Naomi Lutz and one brother, Ralph Finefrock. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathyrn and Henry Canonico of Tempe, AZ; son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Linhart of Minerva; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and William Fromm; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Dorothy Finefrock, all of North Canton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery, Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.

Mildred I. Heaton
Mildred I. Heaton, age 77, passed away on Feb. 8, 2002, in her home in Las Vegas, surrounded by her two daughters, Sandra Speicher and Jane Heaton and other family members. Millie was born December 28, 1924 in Brewster, Ohio. She touched the heart and spirit of all those who knew her. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, auntie and best friend. Throughout her life she exemplified the true meaning of unconditional love and caring and showed all of us the importance of courage and strength and of following your dreams. Millie will be greatly missed, but her spirited love of life will always be with us. A Memorial Chapel Service in Las Vegas will be held February 20. Regina I. Ries
Regina I. Ries, age 80, of Massillon, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, Canton. She was born May 7, 1921, in Flushing, OH, had lived in the Canton/Massillon area most of her life and was a graduate of St. John's in Canton, class of ‘39. During World War II, she had worked at the Hoover Co. and after raising her family, she worked at Sears as a sewing machine salesperson, as a real estate agent at EJ Plott and finally, she worked conducting home energy audits. She was a member of Saint Mary Parish in Massillon. She had assisted the instructor of local Dale Carnegie classes for many years, and worked as a volunteer at St. John's Samaritan Table. She had also made Afghans and shawls for local nursing homes, and the Santa Clara Monastary missions and sponsored a child in Africa. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, William G. Ries of Massillon and Michael and Robin Ries of Decatur, AL; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann Ries of Orrville and Rose and Scott Hummel of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Gerri and Larry Aventino of Massillon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Ries Jr. on May 28, 1987, one daughter, Lynne Ries, PhD on Feb. 2, 1983, her parents, Eugene and Irene (McCluskey) Pilati and one sister, Melva Waers. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary Parish Church with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, N. Canton. Visitation will be Sunday 5-8 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Service-Massillon Chapel, 639 First St. NE, where a scriptural service will be held during calling hours.

Richard M. Yuhas
Richard M. Yuhas, age 73, of Doylestown, formerly Canton, passed away Tuesday in Doylestown Health Care Center. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Steven and Rose Fogel Yuhas, and had resided in Doylestown for over 25 years. He was retired from Technicast Inc. where he was an Industrial Time-Study Engineer in charge of Quality Control. Mr. Yuhas was an avid bowler and golfer, and also enjoyed camping. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Yuhas, three brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife, Doris E. Yuhas; one daughter, Pamela Williams of Copley; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Denise Yuhas of Canton; four sisters, Helen Godfrey and Roseann O'Nesky of Las Vegas, NV, Irene Crowe of Temple City, CA and Patricia Settles of Earp, CA; one brother, Raymond Yuhas of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of North Lawn Cemetery with Aultman Hospice Chaplain Paul Rudy officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ron Chorian
Ron Chorian, age 79, of North Canton, died Saturday morning at Mercy Medical Center, following a six week illness. Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Michael and Johanna Chorian. He was a retired owner of the former Campbell Insurance Agency for 40 years in North Canton. He served his country in the U.S. Maritime Service, U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Army. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton, North Canton Elks and the North Canton Eagles. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Emil Chorian. Survivors include his wife, Erma F. (Rawlins) Chorian; daughter, Mrs. Klaus (Karen) Steinbach, Mrs. William (Bethann) Baughman, both of Canton; sister, Lee Andrassy of West lake, OH. Thomas W. Fye
Thomas W. Fye, age 73, of Clinton, OH, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at his home. He was born in Akron, OH, had been a life resident of Clinton, and had retired in 1990 from the Continental Bakery Co. after 37 years service. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A member of VFW #9795, Canal Fulton, the American Legion #718, Marshallville and St. George Catholic Church Clinton. Preceded in death by sons, Joseph C. and David A. Fye, sisters, Beatrice Jane and Sister M. Charles, sister-in-law, Mary Alice Fye, brother-in-law, Jack Fisher. Survived by wife of 49 years, Vera (Schott) Fye; daughter, Theresa (Christian) Cline of Barberton; sons, Martin (Laura) Fye, Bernard Fye, Thomas E. (Renee) Fye, all of Canal Fulton, Lawrence (Kathy) Fye of Beaufort, SC; daughter-in-law, Cindy (Steve) Combs of Canal Fulton; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Hagarman of Columbus, Margaret (George) Mokris of Warren; brothers, Richard E. Fye of Canton, Msgr. Lawrence Fye of Youngstown; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10:30 a.m. in St. George Catholic Church, Clinton. concelebrated by Msgr. Lawrence Fye, Msgr. Robert Bacher and Fr. David Huffman. Burial in Clinton Cemetery with military honors by VFW #9795. Visitation at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) MONDAY

Vera Mae Arntz. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Manley Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Wilson R. Wise
Wilson R. Wise, formerly of Canton, having lived here for 46 years and moved to central Florida in 1993, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002. Mr. Wise was a retired Machinist for White Motors Co. He was born in Bedford, KY. He was a member of Canton Baptist Temple in Canton. He was a life member of veterans of Foreign Wars American Legion and 6th Marine Association of World War II, also was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagle. He was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; son, Larry Wise of Yuma, AZ; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi and Robert Benner of North Canton, Sherry and Dinicola of Key Largo, FL; brothers, Herbert Wise of Minerva, Richard Wise of Pendleton, KY and Edward Wise of Bedford, KY, Kenneth Wise of Crystal River, FL; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Grisson Funeral Home in Kissimmee, FL, is handling the arrangements.

Vivian C. Ake
Vivian C. Ake, age 92, of North Canton, OH, died on January 16, 2002. Born in Conway, PA in 1909 and preceded in death by husband, Robert. Survived by children, Marilyn Kettlewell of Sunbury, OH, Richard Ake of Canton, OH, Linda Easterling of Orlando, FL; two stepchildren, Barbara Pavelzik of St. Petersburg, FL and Edward Ake of East Canton, OH; grandson, Don Hagerman and wife, Toni, of Charlotte, NC, great-grandchildren, Claire, Madeline and Rachel Hagerman of Charlotte, NC. Graduated from Aultman Hospital School of Nursing in 1930. She retired in 1972 after a highly enjoyable and productive career at Aultman Hospital. Member of Moreland Christian Church. Memorial service to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Vivian's memory to the Aultman Hospital Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 6361, Station B, Canton, OH 44706.

William C. Blattman
William C. Blattman, age 51, died at Massillon Community Hospital on Feb. 15, 2002. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. B. C. Blattman; his brother, Larry; and his nephew, Scott Santschi. He is survived by his dearest and long-time friend, Vivian Misheff; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Sidney Savage; his niece, Mrs. Joan Winston; his brother, Jaime Blattman; his nephew, Brandon Blattman; and brother, Larry's widow, Mrs. Dianne Ernst of California. Bill was born in Alliance, OH on July 12, 1950. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1968. He attended Stark State Technical School. He interrupted his studies to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he served as a medic in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in October, 1971. Upon returning home, he continued his studies at Stark State Technical and Kent State University, Stark Campus. He enjoyed working in the mountains of Pikes Peak National Forest, Colorado. He worked in the food service industry as manager while living in Atlanta, GA. He returned home to Canton in 1986 and enjoyed studying computer programming. Our family wants to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Massillon Community Hospital for the excellent care, compassion and kindness they demonstrated daily to Bill and our family. Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at 4 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Evelyn Silvery
Evelyn Silvery, age 78, of North Canton, passed away early Friday morning in Mas-sillon Community Hospital after an extended illness. She was a life resident of Canton and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. A graduate of Timken High School in 1941 in the Cosmetology Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Carmella (Casillio) Silvery; two sisters, Mary DeZio and Margaret Fanale. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily and George Keeton of North Canton, Eleanor and Sam DeSantis of Canton; seven nieces and five nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church with Rev. Fr. Donald Oser as celebrant. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rossi Funeral Home Sunday (today) 5-8 p.m. There will be a Wake Prayer service Sunday at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Harold Chipps
Harold Buddy Chipps, age 54, of Canton, died unexpectedly Tuesday in a Tractor and Trailer accident. Born January 25, 1948 in Buckhannon, WV. He was employed by Glenery Trucking Co. of New Jersey. Buddy never met a stranger and was well liked by all. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Gilbert Sutherland. Survivors include his wife, Georgia of the home with home he celebrated 15 years of marriage on September 15, 2001. There are several half brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins also surviving. Even though his wife desperately needs him here on earth God needs him in heave even more. He will live in Gerogia's heart forever. At his request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Ernest L. Kiefer
Ernest L. Kiefer, age 81, of Canton, OH, passed away Friday morning in the Canton Regency following an extended illness. Born in Canton on May 19, 1920, he was a 1939 graduate McKinley High School, and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee of Luntz Iron and Steel and a retired employee of the Bureau of Workers Compensation and Nationwide Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Jane Kiefer, June 22, 1988. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Patty Kiefer of Massillon, Kim and Sylvia Kiefer of N. Canton. His brother and sister-in-law, John and Rose Kiefer of N. Canton; and his sister, Helen Bole of Denver, Co; five grandchildren, Greg and Todd Kiefer, Nicole, Taylor and Kyle Kiefer; two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Abby Kiefer; his special friend, Pam Knopp of Canton. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
