Clarence Workman
Clarence G. Workman, age 73, passed away January 31, 2002. He was born March 29, 1928 in Akron. Clarence served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1993 where he had worked as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and the Turkey Sportsman's Club, enjoyed fishing and golfing, and was a proud member of the Society of Double Digits and the 20+ Club. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Patricia. He is survived by his sons, Patrick (Cynthia), Tim (Jackie), and Joseph Workman of St. Mary's Seminary; daughters, Marie (Kenneth) Bennett and Loretta (Douglas) Schwaberow; sisters, Marnetta Dies, Madalyn Showalter-Strauss, and Mary Ann Neff; brother, Russell Workman; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Earnest Palmer
Earnest Ernie Palmer, age 62, of Canton, passed away at home after an extended illness. Born in Latrobe, PA, he lived most of his life in Canton. Retiring from the Ford Motor company after 25 years of service, he was a member of U.A.W. Local 542. Preceded in death by his father, Earnest N. Palmer; brother, Eugene Palmer; and granddaughter, Melissa Palmer. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Delores M. (Dolph) Palmer of the home; mother, Rita (Meloy) Palmer of Freeport, OH; sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy, Kenneth, Michael, Randy and Michelle Palmer, all of Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Elena and Ty Shreve, Tammy and Shane Tolbert, all of Canton; stepdaughters, Sheila (Brown) Tessanne, Karen (Broad) Phillips, both of Canton; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Cheryl Palmer of New Philadelphia, OH, Michael Palmer of Freeport, OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita Karloski of Petersburg, KY, Elaine and Paul Craig of Lansing, MI, Catherine Whaley and Larry Dukes of Freeport, OH. Edna Mae Fawcett
Edna Mae Fawcett, age 77, formerly of Germano Road, Carrollton, Ohio died Thursday, January 31, 2002 in the Great Trail Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 14, 1926 in Carroll County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Logan and Ruth (Blazer) Shultz. She was a member of the Kilgore United Methodist Church. She was married to Kenneth Fawcett who survives along with three sons, John Fawcett of Stow, Ohio, Mike Fawcett of Houston, Texas, Jeff Fawcett of Palm Springs, CA; two daughters, Linda Antijunti of Pace, Florida, Susan Fawcett of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Kilgore United Methodist Church with Pastor Jane Betts officiating. Edna had requested that her body by donated to the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kilgore United Methodist Church.
Eugene K. Geyer
Eugene K. Geyer, age 89, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Hanover House in Massillon. He was born in Dover, OH, May 13, 1912 to the late William H. and Catherine (Jones) Geyer. He was retired from the Stark County Engineer Dept, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Louisville Eagles #2374, Louisville Post #544 of the American Legion and the Canton VFW #3747. He was preceded in death by a son, William H. Geyer, Sr.; one sister, Gladys Tourno and two brothers, John and Harry Geyer. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Genetta and Joseph Campitelli of Louisville; two grandchildren, Scott L. Fox of Canton and J. R. Geyer; two sisters, Virginia Snider and Evelyn Knouff, both of East Canton. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton. F.O.E. services will be held 5:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Marjorie S. Redleski
Marjorie S. Redleski, age 65, of Canton, died Friday, morning in Doctors Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Preston County, WV. She had been a Canton resident for 51 years. She was formerly employed by Haines and Co. for 19 years. Marjorie was a wife, friends and companion for over 46 years to her husband, Charles Redleski, who survives her. Also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Gasque Oglesby of Pensacola, FL; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles W. and Christine Redleski and Robert A. Redleski all of Canton, and Douglas A. and Vickie Redleski of West Virginia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Bill Richardson of Waynesburg, and Ellen and Paul Kroh of Canton; a brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Barbara Auvil of Brecksville, OH; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Andrew L. and Dorothy (Courtney) Auvil. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Dr. Bryan George officiating. Shirlee J. Wood
Shirlee J. (Brunner) Wood, age 66, of Canton, passed away Thursday January 31, 2002 in her home with her family and dog Gidget by her side following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born January 17, 1936 in Canton, OH. Shirlee is survived by her husband of 16 years, Carl Wood; her mother, Dorothy Brunner of North Canton; a daughter and a son-in-law, Pamela and Ralph Schrader of Marlboro, OH; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Steve Vosi of Minerva, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Kathy James of Canton, OH; two step-sons, Gregory Wood and Carl Wood Jr., both of Canton, OH; a sister, Marceline Sutton of North Canton, OH; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Preceded in death by her father, Clyde Brunner in 1998. Ted C. Drechsler
Ted C. Drechsler, age 65, of Medina, passed away Thursday night January 31, 2002 in his residence, after a brief illness. He was born January 24, 1937 in Louisville to the late Theodore and Nola (Adams) Drechsler. Mr. Drechsler was a retired aircraft mechanic from Delta Airlines in Cleveland. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Canton. Ted was a 1955 graduate of Louisville High School and was a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He loved flying, was a private pilot and enjoyed bowling, golfing and other outdoor activities. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Marilyn Drechsler of Massillon; two nieces, Ruth Ann Pawlack and Amy Taylor; two nephews, David Bowers and Matt Drechsler and a grandniece Emily Pawlack. A sister, Joan Bowers, preceded him in death on June 1, 2001. Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. William Seymour officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Louisville . There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to First United Church of Christ in Canton.
Theresa M. Kaspar
Theresa Marie Kaspar, age 57, of North Canton, died Thursday, January 31, 2002. A resident of Rockhill Place, she was born August 14, 1944, in Cleveland to the late George J. Sr. and Lillian (Kozak) Kaspar she was employed by Workshops, Inc. of the Stark County MRDD. Survived by sisters, Dolores Fedak of Cleveland, and Jean (William) Clark of North Canton; brothers, George J. Jr. (Arlene) Kaspar of Brook Park, and Lawrence (Mary-Anne) Kaspar of Columbus; 20 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Fedak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Brook Park, with Rev. Fr. James Vesley officiating. Thomas T.J. Crookston, age 80, of Massillon, died Friday, February 1, 2002, at Massillon Community Hospital, after a short illness. He was born July 2, 1921, in Massillon, OH. He had worked in the shipping dept. at Republic Steel Corp. for over 30 years, retiring in 1983. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sandy (Wayne) Troyer of Massillon, OH; two grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, June Crookston, Feb. 11, 1994. Funeral services will be at Heitger Funeral Service, Massillon Chapel, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at 8 p.m., with Fr. Wilburta H. Stucker
Wilburta Hope (Smith) Stucker, born April 8, 1935, age 66, of North Canton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2002. She was a 1953 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, a former employee of Oiler Brothers, and of the Diebold Corporation, a life-long member of the Crystal Park United Methodist Church, and a 30 year member of the T.O.P.S. organization, Local Chapter 763. She was a loving mother and wife who devoted herself to her family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Mary Smith of Canton. Survived by husband, L. Frank Stucker to whom she has been married for 36 years; son, Craig and daughter, Lynn; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Andrew Reti; sister-in-law, Norma Lehmiller; several nieces, nephews, cousins; many dear friends and neighbors. Her hobbies included bird watching, cooking, music, doing for others, and enjoying all the beauty and wonder life brought to her each day. Family, friends and neighbors may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Ann Murphy-Henman and Fr. Edward Beneleit officiating. Final resting place will be in the North Canton Cemetery. Joyce M. Harlin
Joyce M. Harlin, age 57, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in her sleep Jan. 30, 2002, in her Florida home after a brief illness. Joyce was born May 24, 1944, in Latrobe, PA, to John and Anna (Davis) Mills. She moved to Canton in grade school and graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1962. In 1965 she married David Harlin and together they raised three children. She worked as a paralegal for the law firm of Day Ketterer-Raley, Wright Rybolt for 16 years before moving to Texas and Kansas with her family. In 1988 she retired to Florida with her husband but returned every summer to Cutty's Sunset Trailer Park. She was preceded in death by her father, John Mills. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, David of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Dan Moeglin and Denise and Tony Varn, all of Canton; one son, David Harlin, Jr. of Topeka, KS; her mother, Anna Davis of Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Dean Carlise of Old Fort, NC; seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday morning at 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Fete as celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Bruce C. Finnefrock Jr.
Bruce C. Finnefrock Jr., age 54, of Canton, OH., passed away Thursday morning, January 31, 2002 in the residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Canton, OH., June 12, 1947, he was a retired employee of the Timken Co., retiring March 31, 1999 after 30 years of service. Mr. Finnerock was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, former Union Steward with Golden Lodge #1123 and was a veteran of the Vietnam Confict, having served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce C. Finnerock Sr. Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Finnefrock of the home to whom he would have been married 35 years, June 17, 2002; his son, Brian K. Finnefrock of North Canton, OH; his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda K. and David Gregory of Canton; his mother, Bonita Finnefrock of Canton, OH; two sisters, Claudia Conant of Canton, OH., Carolyn Brock of Magnolia, OH; and a dog who loved him very much by the name, Pumpkin; a very special aunt, Jane Kafury of Canton, OH; and his very special Brother, David Smith of Canton, OH. There are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Memorial Mass will be Monday 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4940 West Tuscarawas St., with Fr. Thomas Dyer as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. His cremains will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in his name to St. Joan of Arc. Stephen F. David
Stephen F. (Squibbs) David, age 88, of Canton, passed away Friday morning in his home. Born in Fayette City, PA., he was the son of the late John M. and Mary M. David. He lived in Canton most of his life, attended St. John's High School, served in the U.S. Army for the Com. I 145 Infantry 37th Division Headquarters Co. and retired as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office. Squibbs was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir, was in charge of the church Bingo. Member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, the Men's Jednota, D.A.V., St. Mihiel #6, the N.A.R.F.E., McKinley Chapter #341, Canton, National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch #238, the Post Office Men's Bowling League, America Legion Post #44, was inducted into the Amateur Sports Hall of Fame, for Baseball in 1978, and was a member of the Greater Canton Old Timers Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Frankie S. David; daughter, Mary Sophia David; three brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sophia M. David of the home; daughters, Susan E. David of Canton, Rita M. Stith of Massillon, Sally J. David of Canton, Sr. Faustina Marie O.P. (Martha) of Lancaster, PA; brother, Edward David of Canton; sister, Mary K. David of Louisville; grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Stith. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Fr. William Shipe, and Fr. Thomas Bishop as Celebrants. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Michael Stevenson
Michael Stevenson, age 51, passed away January 31, 2002 at Aultman Hospital. Michael was a college graduate, working on his Ph.D. U.S. Air Force Vet by everyone he came in contact with. He spent most of his time in Denver Colorado working with elderly people. He will be truly missed by everyone. Preceded in death by grandparents, William and Rosalie Stevenson; uncle Robert and Billy Stevenson. Michael leaves to cherish his memory mother, Jeanette Stevenson; sister, Judy (Kelvin) Jones, Roberta Brewer, Anglea Luke; brother, Johnn Young; adopted sisters, Margaret Stevenson, Megan Stevenson, Tasha Jack; special niece, Monique; special cousins, Beverly Miller Health, Karen Leonard Showes; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Diane Tate. Virginia O. Smith
Virginia O. Smith, age 89, of Massillon died Thursday in Massillon Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Eastern Star Elva Chapter and John Knox Presbyterian Church. Survived by daughter, Joanne C. Ballway of Akron; sons, Stephen R. Smith of Akron and James E. Smith of Massillon; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Stephen in January, 1997; and son, William Thomas in December of 1997. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Patton officiating. A Private Burial service will be held Monday in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
