Concetta Connie A. (Jannelli) Seghi, age 83, of Canton passed away Saturday, January 26, 2002 in Aultman Hospital after a sudden illness. Complete obituary will be published in Wednesday's edition. Edith May (Zartman) Keener age 94, Born August 9, 1907. Daughter of the late John W. Zartman and Alice (Folmer) Zartman. Edith a life long resident of Hartville, Passed on Saturday January 26, 2002 in the comfort of her son's home in Canton. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Hartville United Church of Christ, Hartville Senior Citizens, Middlebranch Golden Buckeyes, AARP, as well as various other senior citizen organizations. She was always there for anyone who needed to talk and often offered comfort and advice when others were faced with difficulty. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Carleton S. Keener; three brothers, Henry and Earl Taylor, and Robert Carper; and one sister, Pearl Mraz. Survived by brother and sister-in-law, Edwin Mary Zartman of Hartville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Rita Keener of Hartville, and Paul Shirley Keener of Canton; ten grandchildren, Susie Joseph Burawa, Dale Roben Keener, Debbie Larry Flounders, Diane Tim Henson, and Dawn Gary Blythe; and eleven great-grandchildren, Carlton and Ethan Burawa, Mathew, Adam, and Daniel Keener, Andrew and Christopher Flounders, Allyson and Lauren Haley, and Holly and Brandon Henson. Jennie E. (Carbone) Gialluca, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning following a sudden illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony (Fear) Gialluca; her parents, Harry and Jessiminia Carbone; sisters, Annie and Rose Marie Carbone; brothers, Chester and Joseph Carbone. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Alter Society of the church, Tops #1753. She was a former employee of Adeline Shop and Mt. Marie Highs School. She is survived by devoted sons, Anthony II and rick Gialluca both of Canton; grandchildren, Angela and Mark Reitter of New Jersey, Tony III and Toby Gialluca of Akron; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alex Reitter; five sisters, Madeline Miller, Judy Frustaci, Catherine Lavoy all of Canton, Mary Lou Conversino of Massillon, Delores Kalman of Bolivar; one brothers, Pete Carbone of Tallmadge; several nieces and nephews. Meredith L. (Dunn) Montgomery, age 77, formerly of 4194 Fulton Dr. NW, died Sunday in the Canton Regency. She was a life resident of Canton and was the widow of Richard C. Montgomery who died in 1989. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Jon Graef of Zoar, OH, and Wendy Stuchul of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Kelly McClintock, Shannon Hawk, and Christopher and Alex Stuchul; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Velma Andorka and Eileen Sollazzo, both of Canton. Preceded in death by a brother, Frank Dunn, and a sister, Helen Vince. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Schaefer officiating. Peter Bailer, Sr.
Peter Simon Bailer, Sr., age 89, of Canton passed away Saturday evening, January 26, 2002 in Manor Care Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born in St. Clairsville, OH, June 25, 1912 to his parents the late Michael and Eva Bailer, he lived most of his life in the Canton area and was a retired employee of Wheeling Steel. Mr. Bailer was a member of Market Avenue Church of Christ and Polish National Alliance. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Bailer; and two brothers, Michael and Andrew Bailer. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Peter Bailer, Jr. and Rose Bailer of Dillonvale, OH; four sisters, Mary Mithcell of Martins Ferry, OH, Stella Syty of New York, Wanda Bailer of St. Clairsville, OH, and Helen Thiel of Martins Ferry, OH; three grandsons, Peter, William and Mark Bailer; numerous nieces and nephews. Born October 19, 1923 in Ludlow, MA, to the late, Michael and Victoria (Majka) Ziemba. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a former employee of Haines Directory. Preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. in 1992; and her brothers, Frank, John and Mitchell Ziemba. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William M. and Mary Sharon Schumacher of South Euclid, OH, Robert M. and Thelma Schumacher of Louisville, David B. and Mickey Schumacher of Canton; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Adam Wesolow of Lake Elmore, VT; sisters, Julia Rolla of Ware, MA, Nellie Opalinski of Wilbraham, MA, Evelyn Pereira of Ludlow, MA; a brother, Ted Ziemba of Ware, MA; grandchildren, Kristen (Matt) Webb, Julie (David) Bilson, Brett, Justin, Joshua and Jordan Schumacher; great-grandchildren, Matthew Webb and Hannah Bilson. Thelma A. Anstine, age 79, of Sandyville, died Saturday evening in her home following an extended illness. Daughter of the Roland and Luceile (DeRock) McMillen. Alexia Anne Maurer, beloved infant daughter of Joshua M. Maurer and Shannon S. Swinderman was surrounded by her family when she came into this world and then went to be in the arms of Our Lord on Friday, January 25, 2002. A Private Memorial Services of family and close friends will be held in her honor on Monday, January 28, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home located at 504 W. Maple St., Hartville, OH, with a committal service immediately following a North Lawn Cemetery's Baby Land. Services will be officiated by Pastor Laura Fitt. Alexia is survived by her parents, Joshua Maurer and Shannon Swinderman; her grandparents, Michael and Laura Maurer, Brenda and Keith Gonda, James and Lori Swinderman; her uncles, Zachary Maurer, Sean Swinderman and Kristofer Swinderman; her aunts, Tiffany Gonda, and Kourtney Gonda; her great-grandparents, Kenneth and Geraldine Miller, Ralph and Lillian Maurer, Shirley and Mick Greene, Jim and Francis Locker, James E. Dr. George L. St. John DDS
Dr. George L. St. John DDS, 5758 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, died at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital Emergency room, from a heart attack. He was born December 23, 1934 in Oakfield, OH, the son of Samuel W. and Adeline Nast St. John. A graduate of Bristol High School in 1952, and the Case-Western Reserve School of Dentistry in 1961. He served in the United State Air Force from 1961-1963. He operated his Dental practice in Massillon from 1963 to 1988 and then moved his practice to Champion in 1988 and was still active in his practice. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Warren Dental Society, Corydon Palmer Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He attended the Wildare United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the Champion Kiwanis the Champion Rotary. He was on the cemetery board of Sager Cemetery.
He was an Eagle Scout and was a Boy Scout Commissioner in Stark County. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading, photography, playing and spending time with his two grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Betty Moss St. John whom he married on July 8, 1961; a daughter, Mrs. Anita and son-in-law, Gregory Guello of Green, in Stark Co.; a son, Roger St. John of Warren; a brother, Samuel and sister-in-law, Judy St. John of Bristolville; a sister, Joy and brother-in-law, Charles Carter of Kinsman; two grandsons, Cole and Chase Guello of Green. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Amherst Community Church, 8650 Beatty St. N.W., Massillon, OH 44646. Memorial contributions may be made to the Champion Kiwanis Club, the Champion Rotary Club, or the American Heart Association.

Leonard Lee Corn, age 83, of Cleveland, GA, formerly of Canton, died Sat., Jan. 5, 2002. Born in Hiawassee, GA, he had been a winter resident in Leesburg, FL. He was a retired employee of The Timken Co. retiring after 33 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Corn of the home; son, Lee (Pat) Corn of Cadillac, MI; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Michael of Canton, Diana (Shad) Shilling of Navarre; two sisters, Lucille Osborne of Florence, AL, Dot Kirkland of Ellijay, GA; three stepdaughters; two stepsons; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were handled in Florida.

Lillie (Riggs) Kirk, age 53 of Big Pine Key, FL formerly of East Sparta, died on January 22, 2002 in her home following a lengthy heart condition. Preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Virginia Riggs. Survived by her husband, Roy; sister, Norma Jo Davis; nephews, Mike (Pam) Hambach of Winchester, VA, David (Cheryl) Hambach of Indianapolis, IN and Paul (Sherri) Hambach of Massillon; great-nieces, Nikkol, Dana, Bonnie and Amber. Her wish was to be cremated.

Born in Donora, PA, July 4, 1917 to her parents the late Peter and Anna Sinutko, she lived most of her life in the Canton area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Frahm, April 30, 1991; two brothers, Charles and John Sinutko; and her sister, Helen Sinutko. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Ann Dentler and Edith Werstler both of Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Jean Sinutko of California, Paul and Jane Sinutko of New Jersey; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Paul J. Friscat, age 82, of North Canton died Saturday morning at Altercare of Cant following a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 3, 1920, in Detroit, MI, to he parents the late John and Josephine Friscat. He retired in 1982 from Republic Steel Corp. where he was employed for 37 years. Mr. Friscat served with the Army during World War II and was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Crowe and Mary Webnick. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy J. Friscat, to whom he was married on Dec. 26, 1967; his sons, John Friscat of Bolivar, OH and Jeff Friscat of Pittsburgh, PA; one grandson, John Friscat, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Little Flower Catholic Church at a time to be announced in Monday's edition of The Repository. Robert E. Patterson, age 74, of Massillon, OH, passed away Friday evening, January 25, 2002, in Aultman Hospital following a two year illness. Born in Canton, OH, January 19, 1928 to his parents the late Frank and Mildred Patterson, he was a 1946 graduate of McKinley High School. Mr. Patterson was a retired employee of Fisher Foods, retiring in 1990 after 38 years of service. He was a member of FAA, The Wilderness Center and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Dieringer; brother, Carl E. Patterson, Sr.,; and infant daughter, Sandra. Survivors include his loving wife, Elaine Patterson of the home to whom he would have been married 56 years, March 23, 2002; five children, Kathy Bates-McGlynchey of Massillon, Cindy Garofalo of Canton, OH, Mitch Patterson of Tiger, GA, Dien Patterson and Bryan Patterson both of Massillon, OH; four brothers, James Patterson of Malvern, Ralph, Kenny and Pat Patterson all of Canton; two sisters, Lois Scarletto of Peoria, AZ, Gerry Bowling of East Canton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Vada Mae Russell
Vada Mae Russell, age 87, of Canton, OH, passed away Saturday morning in the Oakhill Manor Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Canton on May 9, 1914 she was a retired employee of Nationwide Insurance Co. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple and the Jolly Sixties. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ivy Russell, also by two sisters, Ruth and Emma Russell; and six brothers, Charles, Howard, Clayton, Albert, Archie and Oliver Russell. Survivors include two nieces, Jean Harrison of Canton and Jane Brugger of Dover, OH; several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on hour before services on Tuesday from 12-1 p.m.
