Bernice J. Buchholz
Bernice J. Buchholz, age 91, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster. Survived by seven children and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster. Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Charlie Applegarth
Charlie L. Applegarth, age 74, of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Aultman Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Pleasant Grove, OH, a son of the late Cecil and Woinna Cunningham Applegarth, and had been a Magnolia resident 32 years. He retired in May of 2001 from the A.R. Elson Lumber Co., after 34 years service. Charlie was an avid hunter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Applegarth, with whom he celebrated their 32nd Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 22nd; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and William Pompey of New Philadelphia, Belinda and Mike Kies of Shadyside, OH, and Carol and Joseph Smith of Mt. Pleasant, OH; three stepdaughters, Karen Schweitzer and her husband, Rich, and Sharon Baker, all of New Philadelphia, Susan Christman of Malvern; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Barbara Bonnell of Largo, FL, David and Tina Applegarth of New Philadelphia; two stepsons, Rick McCartney and his wife, Karen, of Malvern, William McCartney of Caldwell, OH; one sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Paul Brewer of Navarre; one brother and sister-in-law, Smith and Jean Applegarth of Pleasant Grove, OH; and a special nephew, Don Bonnell; also 11 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Nancy Manner officiating. Friends may call Friday 4-7 p.m. prior to the service.
Dolores K. Kintz
Dolores K. Kintz, age 95, of Atlantis, FL, formerly of Alliance, died, Nov. 20, 2001 in West Palm Beach, FL. Member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Alliance and Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana, FL. She was the owner of the former Kintz Construction Co. in Alliance. Mrs. Kintz and her husband, Paul, purchased property in southern Florida and along with her children, developed it into the city of Atlantis. She was a member of Atlantis Country Club, Atlantis Golf Club and a former member of Alliance Womens Club, Alliance Country Club and Congress Lake Country Club. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Kintz, July 21, 1963; her parents, Charles and Mary Lucille (Manley) Vitak; one son, Robert. Survived by two sons, Charles and Jan Kintz of Atlantis, FL, James and Sara Ann Kintz of Atlantis, FL; daughter, Joan and Richard Spittler of Alliance; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kintz; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at 10 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Alliance. Fr. Patrick Manning as celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Grace E. Zetler
Grace E. Zetler (nee Howell), died November 28, 2001. The youngest of seven children, she was born in 1922 in Utila, the Bay Islands, Honduras to Thomas and Maud Howell. Grace loved the Lord and enjoyed being with her family. She was a member of Manchester Trinity Chapel. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Philip A. Zetler in 1988. She is survived by daughters, Linda Utterback of N. Canton and Kathy (John) Sloan of Manchester; grandchildren, Michelle and Melissa Sloan, Stephanie and Melinda Utterback; great-granddaughter, Patiance Sloan; and sister, Ida Reynolds of Jacksonville, FL. Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 1-3 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 3 p.m., Rev. Mike Hernandez officiating. Mildred E. Mayle
Mildred E. Mayle, age 83, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning in Aultman Hospital following a two year illness. Born July 19, 1918 in Wendell, WV to the late Rev. Murray M. and Retha (Hetrick) Maley and had lived in Canton for the past 45 years. For many years she was a school teacher in West Virginia and a member of Crystal Park Wesleyan Church of Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, Laco V. Mayle, Dec. 6, 1990; one sister, Mary Lou Crastina; three brothers, Johnny, Jimmy and Frank Wade Maley. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Cookie and Richard Feller, Sharyn and David Hensley, Retha (Beth) and David Ritchey; one son, all of Canton; eight grandchildren including Skip Crastina, Natalie Hensley, Butch Feller, Missy Fowler and Jonathan Ritchey; two great-grandchildren, Scooter Crastina and Katlynn Feller. all of Canton; seven sisters, Jeanette Fury of Canton, Louise Loney, Lucy Gregory, Marie Jefferies, Barbara Turkovich, Ruth Ann Gregory, all of Shinnston, WV, Shirley Fitzmurice of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, Kelso (Bruz) Maley. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Crystal Park Wesleyan Church with Rev. Bob Bolis, Rev. Winfield Mayle and Rev. Earl Fields officiating. Sister Francis Borgia Moore, H.M. 89, the former Isabel Moore died Wednesday Nov. 28, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, OH. Sr. Francis Borgia joined the sister of the Humility of Mary from St. John the Evangelist Parish, Summitville, OH, Feb. 11, 1934. Her active ministry of 64 years was spent in food service and pastoral ministry in the Cleveland, Youngstown and Pittsburgh Dioceses including Cafeteria Manager at Mt. Marie Academy Canton. Survived by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation and her sister, Sr. Mary Michael Moore, R.S.M. West Hartford, CT. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Ryan Moore; and a brother, Harold Moore. Veronica A. Ronnie (Twinem) Gatrell, age 44, of Carmel, IN died Sunday Nov. 25, 2001, in her residence. Mrs. Gatrell was a stockbroker for Charles Schwab and Co., Inc. She was born Nov. 21, 1957, in Canton, OH, to Arvid Twinem and Marilyn Risaliti. She was a 1975 graduate of Lehman High School and graduated cum laude from San Francisco State University. She was a member of Quilters Guild of Indianapolis and Quilting Bee Peace by Piece. She is survived by her husband, Robert Gatrell of Carmel, IN; parents, Arvid Twinem of Canton; mother, Marilyn Risaliti of Boulder City, NV; brother, Mark Twinem of Troy, OH; two sisters, Stephanie Twinem and Tracy McDonald of Canton; 11 nieces and nephews. Wanda Renner of Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills, PA formerly of Lincoln Place, PA died Sunday, November 25, 2001. Wanda was born April 17, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Valenty and Virginia Kaczynski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Renner, stepfather, Charles Adamski, brother, Zygmunt Kaye, and sister, Esther Licthenstine. She is survived by sisters, Laura Kaczynski, Genevieve Carl of Canton, and Virginia Meyers of Englewood, FL; sisters-in-law, Janet and Don Julian and Ruth Hojensky; niece, Patricia Ritchey; nephews, Roger Kaye, Thomas Kaye and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Wanda was a graduate of McKinley High School, Canton, OH, Aultman Hospital School on Nursing Canton, OH and Alumnus of the University of Akron and University of Pittsburgh.
