Abigail Marie Spivey, infant daughter of Brian and Robyn Spivey, passed away on the day of her birth, Monday, November 26, 2001. She is also survived by her grandparents, Leonard and Debbie Hill, Roy and Judy Spivey; three great grandmothers; aunts, uncles and many cousins. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Hill Cemetery.

Beatrice Trent
Beatrice Bea Trent, age 76, of Canton, passed away Wed. morning in the residence of her son in Jewett. She was born in Meyersdale, PA, and had been long-time resident of Canton. Mrs. Trent was a member of Firestone Road Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Lester F. Trent, on Sept. 1, 1989. Survived by her daughter, Linda Woods, of Lancaster, SC; five sons and daughters-in-law, Grant and Ginger, of E. Canton, Leon and Fran of Jewett, James and Denise of N. Canton, John and Michelle and David and Jackie, all of Canton; one sister, Glenna Trent, of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Audra Baer, of Magnolia; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Services will be conducted Sat. at 10 a.m. in Firestone Road Baptist Church with Pastor John D. Marshall officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Belva G. Lippert
Belva G. Lippert, 83, of Steubenville, died Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center, Canton, OH. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Pine Grove, WV, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Amanda Rush Ryan. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Lippert in 1987; two brothers, Jack Ryan and Michael Ryan; one sister, Betty Montgomery. She was a retired Dioscian School nurse. A member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its St. Francis Society, Red Cross home nursing instructor. She was a registered nurse. Surviving is one daughter, Jacque Ziarko and her husband, Michael E. of North Canton; two grandchildren, Holly Ziarko of Washington, D.C. (currently of Lima, Peru), Michael P. Ziarko of North Canton, OH; one brother, Thomas A. Ryan II of Flat Rock, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Lee (Joyce) Minges of Pine Grove, WV and Mrs. Gene (Jean) Brown of Camron, WV. Calling hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, OH. Bernice J. Burchholz, age 91, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster. Survived by seven children and one sister. Grace E. Zetler
Grace E. Zetler (nee Howell), died November 28, 2001. The youngest of seven children, she was born in 1922 in Utila, the Bay Islands, Honduras to Thomas and Maud Howell. Grace loved the Lord and enjoyed being with her family. She was a member of Manchester Trinity Chapel. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Philip A. Zetler in 1988. She is survived by daughters, Linda Utterback of N. Canton and Kathy (John) Sloan of Manchester; grandchildren, Michelle and Melissa Sloan, Stephanie and Melinda Utterback; great-granddaughter, Patiance Sloan; and sister, Ida Reynolds of Jacksonville, FL. Lucy Ellen Ferraro
Lucy Ellen Ferraro, age 91, of Canton, loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully November 27, 2001 at the Pines Nursing Home. She was born on February 14, 1910 in Charleston, WV to the late James and LuLu Belle Holmes. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and her husband, James in 1991. Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Nelson of Michigan and Edith Lilly of West Virginia; two daughters, Karen Ferraro, Mary Lou and son-in-law, Leland Patterson; grandchildren, Rayna and Bryan Finnicum, Robyn and Erik Parkinson, David and Heather Catalano and Melissa Catalano; great-grandchildren, Connor and Riley Finnicum, Emily Parkinson, Elle Catalano and Madison Catalano Racco; many nieces and nephews. Lucy was a nurse at Molly Stark Hospital, retired, devoting her life to her family. Mom was the Wind beneath our wings and a very gentle and loving person. She was always be our Special Valentine. She was a member of Maryland Ave. Baptist Church. A funeral to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, November 29, 2001 (TODAY) at 2 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Ford officiating. Madelene B. Wilson
Madelene B. Madge Wilson, age 81, of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning with her extended family surrounding her in the Alzheimers unit of Manor Care following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie (McWhorter) Bennett. She was a Canton area resident most of her life. Member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ. She had served as a volunteer at Aultman Hospital for a number of years. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Wilson in 1977; two brothers, Willard and Daniel Bennett; two sisters, Inez Raptis and Gladys Patterson; two sons-in-law, G. V. Collinsworth and Jack Lohr. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Collinsworth and Barbara Lohr, both of Canton; five grandchildren, Rusty Collinsworth of Edgewood, KY, Danny Dru Collinsworth of Canton, Jo Nell Stumpfhauser of Cocoa, FL, Wendy Shoemaker of Canton and Shelly Lohr of Canton. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Lester Stevens officiating. Interment in Plainfield Cemetery. Margaret L. Cutler
Margaret L. Cutler, age 76, of Canton, passed away at home Tuesday morning, November 27, 2001, following a brief illness. She retired from Sugardale Foods and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Rosary Altar Society where she was past president. She was an avid bowler. Preceded in death by two daughters, Marguerite and Betty Jo Cutler. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Lynne (Sam) Johnston of Florida, Marlene (Bill) Jones of Bolivar, Kathleen (Bill) Clontz of Tennessee, Dianne (Kevin) Clary of Canton, Mary Ebaben of Lorain, Laura (Bob) Cichocki of Brunswick; sons, David Cutler of North Carolina, Mark (Carol) Cutler of North Canton, Christopher (Donna) Cutler of Georgia; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna as celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow the Mass in the church hall. The Don Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Sue Diciccio
Mary Sue Norica Diciccio, passed away on October 30, 2001 in Broward Community Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Magnolia, OH, to Nicola and Angelina Norcia on January 3, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony whom she married November 13, 1949. He passed on April 19, 1989. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Ann DiPierro and son-in-law, Anthony; a granddaughter, Lori; two grandsons, David and Michael all of Pompano Beach, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Annette Norcia, of Lakewood, OH; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Nicholas Gliatta; and a sister, Virginia Cochran of Girard, OH; a brother-in-law, Vincent Pentella; and a sister-in-law, Betty Norcia of Port Charlotte, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Joseph Norica and a sister, Rose Pentella. There will be a Memorial Mass for all family and friends on Dec. 1, 2001 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church.

Michael D. Hess, 48, died suddenly November 26, 2001. Born in Canton, he had graduated from Canton McKinley High School and Kent State University. He was a manager with Alltel, having been employed there 25 years and he had lived in Stow since 1981. Preceded in death by father, Earl C. Hess and nephew, Christopher M. Griffing. He is survived by wife, Ann Marie; daughters, Rachel Marie and Kaitlin Marie; son, Gregory Michael, all of Stow; mother, Norma V. Hess of Louisville; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and William Griffing of Canton; sister-in-law, Linda Cingle of Cuyahoga Falls; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudy and Pauline Cingle of Stow and nephew, Douglas M. Raymond D. Lopez
Raymond D. Lopez, age 19, passed away Tuesday morning in the Emergency Room of Aultman Hospital due to an auto accident. Born Nov. 18, 1982, in Canton. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Louisville and attended Louisville High School. Survived by his mother, Carol L. (Croston) Milhoan, with whom he made his home; father, Delbert L. Lopez, Jr. of East Canton; brother, Carl L. Lopez of the home; great-grandmother, Georgia Patterson of Louisville; maternal grandmother, Pauline Croston of Canton; paternal grandparents, Delbert and Janet Lopez, Sr. of East Canton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond L. Croston. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home with Jeff Stephenson officiating. Raymond L. Sickles
Raymond L. Sickles, (Ray) age 73, departed this earth for a better place on November 27, 2001. Born in Morrison, CO., June 9, 1928. Ray lived most of his life in the Louisville-East Canton area. He graduated from East Canton High School in 1946. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1952 and was a Corporal. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret J. Brown Sickles; his father, John S. Sickles; brother, Ralph E. Sickles; sister-in-law, Peggy Sickles; and brother-in-law, Wilbert D. Bender. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Brookover and Violet Bender. There are three nieces, two nephews, several great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by family and his many friends at Joseph Grill. There will be no calling hours nor funeral service. The Reed Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Thelma G. Gatschet
Thelma G. Gatschet, age 93, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning in The Laurels of Massillon. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Uyrias and Anna Mae Brumbaugh Hershberger, and was a life resident. Mrs. Gatschet was a 1926 graduate of McKinley High School and was a life member of First Church of The Brethren. Preceded in death by her husband, James L. Gatschet, on April 2, 1984, and her son, Richard E. Gatschet, on April 7, 1999. Survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Gatschet, of Canton; three grandchildren, Mrs. Jeff (Jaye) Graber, of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Bruce (Kaye) Hamilton, and Ric Gatschet and his wife, Toni, all of Canton; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Sat. at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Charles S. George officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Thelma M. Korns, age 82, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary (Hosick) Hunt. Also preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Korns in 1989; step mother, Mary (Domer) Hunt; sisters, Ruby Harding and Joy Daugherty; brothers, Dale and Doyle Hunt; sister-in-law, Radna Hunt; brother-in-law, Howard Stoneman. She was an employee of The Timken Co and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Survived by her brother, Homer Gene Hunt of Akron; sister, Mary Susie Stoneman of Canton; brother-in-law, Frank Harding of West Lafayette, OH; sisters-in-law, Virginia Vasbinder of Dover, OH and May Hunt of Reynoldsburg, OH; many nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Conley officiating. Burial will follow in sunset Hills Burial Park. Daniel T. Cseak III
Daniel T. Cseak III, age 76, passed away Monday evening at Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. He was a life resident of Canton. He was retired from the Nickles Bakery, having been employed for 45 years in sales and management. Member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army, where he was in the Battle of the Bulge having received the Silver Star. He was a member of the Columbus American Legion Post #0888, Ex-Newsboys and CYC. His parents were the late Daniel T. II and Dorthea Cseak. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Cseak. He is survived by his wife, Natalie (Rotar) Cseak, with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage Nov. 24, 2001; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel T. IV and Delta Cseak of Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Natalie and Ron Rauschenback of Idaho and Carie and Gary Greene of Louisville; six grandchildren and spouses, Keith and Karin Cseak, Angie and Sean Fanti, Nathaniel Greene, Casey Greene, Chelsey Greene and Garyn Greene; one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St. George Byzantine Catholic Cathedral with Fr. Emmanuel Samayoa officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home and one hour before the services at the church Friday morning.
