Betty L. Newlon
Betty L. Newlon, age 77, of Perry Heights, Massillon, OH, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2001 in Aultman Hospital, with her family by her side after a two year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Buckhannon, WV, March 10, 1924 to the late Simon and Lula Hamner. She was preceded in death by a son, Ken Newlon, II; a brother, Jack Hamner; and a sister, Peggy Hamner, both of Washington, D.C. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ken Newlon; a son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Terry Newlon; daughter, Linda; son-in-law, Dave Pfeiffer; son, Roy and daughter-in-law, Katie Newlon, all local residents; sister, Mary Falbo of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and an unselfish loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by all her family and will truly be missed. Her family will be consoled knowing she has left this life for far better place. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas A. Patton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Massillon, OH. Calling hours at the funeral home Tuesday 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.

Gilbert H. Harris
Gilbert Gib H. Harris, age 89, Barnesville, died Saturday in Dover, OH. He was born March 1, 1912 in Barnesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. (Brown) Harris; and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, Richard and his wife, Sandy of Gilbert, AZ, and William and his wife, Jean of New Philadelphia, OH; daughter, Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Knight of Louisville; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Friends will be received on Monday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, where service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Grace Hilda Rose
Grace Hilda Rose, age 89, of Navarre, died Friday. Grace was born Oct. 24, 1912 in Bolivar to the late Daniel and Renna Lantzer. She retired from the Massillon Container Co. in Navarre. She had attended Trinity Gospel in Canton, was active at the Red Lantern Square Dance in Brewster and volunteered at Doctor's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Rose in 1971; a daughter, Carol Benson in 1994; a son, James R. Rose in 1965; and a sister, Ethel Ruff. Survivors include daughter, Sally Story of Canton; son, William L. Rose of Navarre; sister, Pearl Foster of California; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services are planned for Wednesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Navarre. Burial will be at Union Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Navarre.
H. James Bosler
H. James Bosler, age 84, of East Canton, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 24, 2001. He was a retired farmer and was a life member of the Valley Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, where he served as a board and trustee member for many years. He was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau where he also served as a Trustee. He had served on the Osnaburg Township Zoning Board, and the Civilian Public Service for four years at Sidling Hills, PA, and Howard, RI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Florence (Youtz) Bosler; three sisters, Blanche Paulus, Pearl Daily and Grace Hochstein; one brother, Charles Bosler. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth R. (Rider) to whom he was married 52 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, J. Stephen and Linda Bosler of Carrollton, Tom and Candy Bosler of East Canton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita G. Peffer of N. Canton, Carol and Ed Raymond of Cambridge; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Beulah Royer of Canfield; one brother, Robert Bosler of Louisville. Friends and family will be received at the Valley Chapel Brethren in Christ Church on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brethren in Christ World Missions c/o Valley Chapel Church at 1045 Trump Rd. James M. Bushman
James M. Bushman, age 78, of Massillon, died Friday evening at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Jim was retired owner of Jim Bushman's Aqua Line Water Company for 47 years. He was born in East Greenville and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Memberships include 50 year member of Shady Hollow Country Club, Massillon American Legion Post 221, and a 46 year member of the Massillon Booster Club. Mr. Bushman was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1941 and Ohio State University. Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Anna (Kiell) Bushman; brothers, Bill and Don Bushman. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline M. (Fenton) Bushman; daughters, Dr. Nicole Simpson, M.D., Enfield, CT, and Michelle Moore of Bradenton, FL; sons, Jamie Bushman of Pier Point, OH, Timothy Bushman of Watsonville, CA, Michael Levinson of Massillon, and Blake Bushman of the home; four granddaughters; and a sister, Margaret Stauffer of Massillon. Mr. Bushman will be eulogized by his friend, Timothy Milligan Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Massillon. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Maxine M. Catalano
Maxine M. Catalano, age 80, died Sunday in the Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center after an extended illness. She was a life resident of Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Tony Catalano, her parents, Earl E. Franz, Sr. and Cledia Herron Franz, and a sister, Mary Jane Babtist. Survived by three sons, Richard Skip Catalano of Canton, Dr. Larry Catalano of Louisville, and David Catalano of Canton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathryn Robson of Canton, Rosalie Little of Shelby, OH, and Marilyn Lanzer of Malvern, OH; and a brother, Earl Franz, Jr. of N. Canton. Services will be Wednesday at 12 Noon in the Lamiell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Kline Roberts III officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Michelle Ann Lupica
A beautiful, bright shining light has tragically been extinguished. Michelle Ann Lupica, 22, of North Canton, died Saturday, November 24, 2001. Michelle could light up a room with her 10,000 watt smile and bring it to its' knees with her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor. She fiercely loved her family, Pooh and Tigger, little kids, especially her nieces, her many friends, marshmallows, good coffee, Miagi the doggie, sunshine, and most of all...Life. She truly lived every second of the day. An employee of Scorcher's in Massillon, she was a 1997 graduate of Hoover High School and attended Stark State College and ETI Technical College, where she was studying to be a paralegal. In addition to her parents with whom she reisded, Michael and Sharon (Moore) Lupica, Michelle was loved by her sisters, Angela Lupica of North Canton, Nicole Blanton and husband, Lonnie of Canton; maternal grandparents, Sherman and Rita Moore of Venice, FL; nieces, Alexandra (Alex) Lupica, Kayleigh and Lindzee Blanton; as well as a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Nicolas and Nida (Rheam) Lupica. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Karlo Sons Funeral Home, North Canton. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Pamela A. Heckman, age 54, of North Canton, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center. A life resident of Canton, Pam was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Heckman, Sr. on July 25, 2000. She is survived by daughter, Mrs. Paula L. Long of N. Canton; two sons, Paul L. (Laura) Heckman, Jr. of N. Canton and Patrick A. Heckman of the residence; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kyle, Kobe and Olivia; mother, Jean Trew of N. Canton; two aunts, Ruth Honess and Kay Slates both of N. Shawn Eugene Lewis Talkington, age 22, of Canton, died Saturday, November 24, 2001 in the Mercy Medical Center from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1998 graduate of Perry High School. He was employed by Roadway Express for the last 1 1/2 years. He greatly enjoyed playing baseball for the Roadway Express and Barbco teams, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lucas in 1995. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Lisa Talkington of Canton; two sisters, Terra Talkington and her fiance', Alan Gallentine and Desirae Talkington all of Canton; one brother, Kyle Talkington of Canton; daughter, Logan Nicole Talkington; maternal grandmother, Delores Lucas of Canton, paternal grandparents, Lewis and Lura Talkington of East Canton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
