Bernard M. Archer
Bernard M. Archer, age 86, of Louisville, loving father, grandfather and brother, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2001 in St. Joseph Care Center following an extended illness. Bernie was born November 22, 1914 in Noble County to the late Earl and Ida (Sorg) Archer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a former welder for Conrail prior to his retirement in 1979. Bernie was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville. Bernie leaves behind two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronn and Mary Archer of Oakville, Ontario, Canada and Bob and Patty Archer of Westerville; two brothers, Herb Archer of Canal Fulton and Edward Archer of Louisville; and seven grandchildren, Kelly, Lyndsey, Holly, Kevin, Jeffrey, Laura and Jennifer. He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence M. Archer, who passed away in 1994 and three brothers, Wilbur, Ray and Cletus Archer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday morning 9-10:30 a.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.

Cecelia R. Bell
Cecelia R. Bell, age 87, of Navarre, died Nov. 16, 2001, at Hanover House Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for two months. Her death followed a brief illness. She was born June 9, 1914, in Navarre, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Salerno) Bell and resided most of her life in Navarre. She is preceded in death by sisters, Anna Theresa, Margaret and Florence Bell, JoAnne Lewis and Marie Wright; and brothers, Jerome and William Bell. Surviving are sisters, Elizabeth Betty Maylor of Massillon, with whom she resided the past eight years, Miss Geraldine Bell and Mrs. Catherine Boswell of Massillon, Mrs. Frances Burwell of California, Mrs. Rosemary Sarianides of Florida; nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Navarre. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where there will also be a Rosary service, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Clements Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Cecelia R. Bell Memorial Fund, c/o 604 Noble Pl. NW, Massillon, OH 44647.

Charles W. Caniford
Charles William Caniford, age 77, of Morgantown, WV, died Thursday, November 15, 2001 a Monongalia General Hospital. He was born December 10, 1923 in Rowlesburg, WV, oldest son of the late Charles T. and Cleda Eaton Caniford. He was a graduate of Fairmont State College and received his Masters Degree from Ohio State University. He was a retired Coach and School Administrator. He began his coaching and teaching career in southern Ohio. In Strasburg, OH, he was the coach for all sports and the principal. He was also principal of Green High School in Green, OH. In Jackson Twp., OH, he was Assistant Superintendent and the Superintendent during the construction of their new high school. Before retiring to West Virginia, he was the Superintendent of Federal Hocking School in southern Ohio. Back in Rowlesburg, he became principal of Rowlesburg School for a few years before finally retiring from education. Charles was a World War II veteran and a retired Lieutenent Colonel of the United States Army. He was also a charter member of the William H. Hoover Masonic Lodge #0770 of North Canton, OH. He is survived by two sons and spouses, Charles W. II and Terri Caniford of Southlake, TX. Thomas H. and Emily Caniford of North Canton, OH; a daughter, Charlene Shelton, formerly of Morgantown; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Caniford of Fairmont, WV; two sisters, Rosemary Churchman of Pennsylvania and Geannine Yesenofski of Connecticut; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday, November 18, 2001 from 12 p.m. until time of funreal services at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Stacy L. Groscup officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the General Athletic Scholarship Fund of Fairmont State College Foundation, Fairmont State College, 1201 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554.

Ethel Moser
Ethel Elizabeth Nagy Moser passed on to be with our Lord on November 15, 2001, Thursday after a lengthy illness. She was the youngest daughter of Nicholas and Bertha Nagy who preceded her in death. She was the wife of the late Clarence Alfred Moser. They had been married since their wedding day of June 6, 1954. Her sisters, Irene Nagy (Of Romania) and Bertha Brislen (of Canton) were her only siblings. Ethel was diagnosed with Parkinson's in the late 80's and survived a triple by-pass heart surgery in the early 90's. Ethel was born in Alliance, Ohio, at Alliance Community Hospital on April 20, 1923. She graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1942. She worked for the Alliance Hospital in the cafeteria, part-time, for 25 years. Ethel was a long-standing member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Canton, Ohio, for over 25 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher as well as a member in their choir. She leaves behind the following: Ms. Cynthia K. Moser, her eldest daughter, of Canton, Todd W. Moser, her only son, of Holland, Ohio, and her youngest daughter, Mrs. Nancy A. Schrader, of Canal Fulton. She was also the grandmother of her only grandchild, Zia Julane Schrader. She was mother-in-law to Mrs. Susan Moser and Mr. Richard Schrader and an Aunt to Mr. James Brislen, of Canton, Ohio. Friends and family may call on Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Walton Schrader Funeral Home in Alliance. The interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Alliance City Cemetery Chapel. Pastor Frank Gross, Jr., of St. Paul's Lutheran Church will be officiating.

Fred S. King
Fred S. King, age 77, of Canton, OH., passed away Friday morning at the home following an extended illness. Born in Valley, NC., on February 28, 1924 he was a veteran and a hero serving in World War II with the US Army. He served in Central Europe and received five Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and a Commendation Citation for exceptionally meritorious conduct. He was retired employee of the Timken Co., retiring in 1986 after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a member of the DAV and the 36th Infantry Division. Survivors include his wife, Rose King of the home; and his daughter, Debbie King of Lexington, KY; a brother, Bruce King of Elk Park, NC; and four sisters, Vina King, Virgie Brewer, Vird Burleson and Vanda Buchanan all of Newland, NC. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Nube, Russell, Dick and Ronald King. There are numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Gladys F. Hamman
Gladys F. (McFarren) Hamman, age 73, of Minerva, died Friday, Nov. 16, from squamous cell carcinoma. She was born December 9, 1927 in West Lebanon, OH, to the late Gaile M. Nickles (McFarren) and Albert E. Nickles. She was raised on her parent's farm in West Lebanon, OH and graduated from Dalton High School in 1947. She worked at Stark's Restaurant in Wooster, OH, Dalton Pottery, The Viking Room at the downtown Canton Belden Hotel, the Canton Downtowner Motor Inn, banquets at the St. Francis Onesta Hotels, Charlie Brown Restaurant on Tuscarawas Street West. She lived in the Canton area since 1957. She attended the 38th Street Church of Christ, and she was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church in Mt. Eaton, OH. She was a member of The Women of the Moose Lodge #233. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, home canning, and baking her famous holiday cookies. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Lee Keith in 1951 and husband, Lewis E. Hamman in 1993. She is survived two daughters, Patty A. (Richard) Davis, whom she resided, and Shirley A. Jacobsen of Canton; one son, Larry A. Hamman of Canton; four granddaughters, Faye, Angela and Tina Davis, Tracy Jacobsen; one grandson, Richard T. Davis, III; one great-granddaughter, Madeline M. Kelly; two sisters, Mae Eileen (Roy) Beeler of Smithville and Betty J. (Ed) Leyman of Sugarcreek. Many loving aunts, cousins, friends, and relatives will miss her smile and presence. Services will be Monday Nov. 19, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 3-5 p.m. and one hour before services on Monday (1-2 p.m.)

Glenna M. Gauze
Glenna M. Gauze. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday (today) 1:30 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Auvil officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home one prior to services on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Grayce G. Morgan
Grayce G. Morgan, age 87, of Canton, died Friday morning in the Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Acheson) Guiney. She was a Canton area resident since 1950, retiring from the State of Ohio Bureau of Employment in 1979 after 11 years of service. Member of the Church of the Master, Canton. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morgan in 1968. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Susan Morgan of Kettering, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancie and Danny Higgins, Roberta and Lanny Soliday all of Canton; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Kuhn of California. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday 3-5 p.m.

Malcolm M. Kienzle
Malcolm Mac M. Kienzle. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18th at 4 p.m. at Rossi Funeral Home on 30th St. As were his wishes, Mac was cremated. Friends and family may pay their respects an hour before the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Services of Stark County, (625 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44702) or to Catholic Charities Adult Day Services, (2840 Lincoln Way E. Massillon, OH 44646).

Margaret L. Caldwell
Margaret L. Caldwell, age 59, died November 14, 2001. Born in Morgantown, WV, she had been a resident of Orrville for most of her life, the last four years in Akron. Preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Luzader. Survived by her son, Scott (Terry) of Massillon; daughter, Lorry (Jim) Wright of Coshocton; son, David (Deborah) of Massillon; son, Bryon of Akron; grandchildren, Randy, Ryan, Amanda, Kimberly, Carl, Daphne, Krystal, Kelly, and Kerry; two great-grandchildren; father, Luther (Georgia) Luzader of Wooster; sisters, Pauline (Gene) Cameron of Florida, Sandy Shilling of Massillon, and Sharon (Dennis) Riley of Orrville; brother, Keith Luzader of Massillon; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. MONDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with the Rev. James R. Beebe officiating. Interment at Newman Cemetery, Massillon. Friends may call at the funeral home SUNDAY 2-5 p.m. and one hour before the service. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 520 S. Main St. #2501, Akron, Ohio 44311-1010

Mark W. Shaw
Mark W. Shaw, age 55, of North Canton, passed away early Friday morning November 16, 2001 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1946 in Canton to the late Norman and Victoria Shaw. Mr. Shaw owned and operated Shaw's Auto Sales in East Canton, raced Stock Cars and restored cars as a hobby. He is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter, Shanon Shaw of Carroll County; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Shawn and Lynn Shaw of Plain Township; sister and brother-in-law, Leah and Warren Midcap of Akron; brother and sister-in-law, Norman Bud and Susan Shaw of Massillon; sister-in-law, Millie Shaw of Akron; two grandchildren, Madison and Zachary Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Shaw in 1982. Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home. Officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon 2-5 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday 10-11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mary Ruth Miller
Mary Ruth Miller. Following a private interment for the family, a memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2001 in Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Darlene D. Garber officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Rd., NW, Canton, OH 44718. The Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Nina M. Williams
Nina M. Williams, age 83, of Canton, died Thursday afternoon, November 15, 2001 in her home following a brief illness. She was born in Caldwell, OH and had resided in the Canton area most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Williams in 1980; her parents, Nate and Agnes Lincicone; her son, Glen Williams; two brothers; and three sisters. Nina is survived by her son, Clarence R. Williams of Canton; grandchildren, Cheryl Kieffer, Timothy Williams and Christine Moore; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sisters, Vera Poling of Canton and Mary Connors of Caldwell, OF; brother, Frank Lincicone of Caldwell. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Hills Burial Park with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by the Reed Funeral Home.

Rhonda Ann Frederiksen
Rhonda Ann (nee Grover) Frederiksen, our beloved angel, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Alexander, VA, on January 22, 1963. She is survived by her father, Ronald Grover, and mother, Hazel Tickle. She is also survived by her loving son, Shane Michael Burton Clawson; grandson, Dakota; loving fiance, Robert Allison; sister, Amber McDonald; brother, Ricky Grover; nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 17, at 11:30 a.m., at East Liberty Cemetery (on state Route 619).
