Bret L. Gregory, age 33, of Denver, CO, formerly of Canton, died June 4, 2001 in his home. Born in Canton June 3, 1958 in Canton. He was a Salesperson/Publishing. He was son of Susanne Wagner of Canton, Ronald Gregory of Dellroy, OH; brother of Ronanne Keiffer of Canton; grandson of Marjorie Roth of Canton; uncle of Nichole Lovejoy, Thomas David Stark; great-uncle of Chelsea Lovejoy and Logan Lovejoy; nephew of Ilene Lovejoy; loving friends, Dr. Barry Rutherford and Kevin Donahugh of Palm Springs, CA, George Peak and Brent Berry, both of Denver, CO, Wilma Jean Dull of New York City. Calling hours Friday 5-7 p.m. in the Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Blvd., where services will follow. Memorial Remembrances suggested to Opera Colorado, 695 S. Celia M. Winchell
Celia M. Winchell, age 93, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday morning in Shady Lawn Health Care Community after a extended illness. She was born in Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Mary Mikolajcik and lived in the Canton area for the last 60 years. She was of the Catholic faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Winchell who died in 1983. She is survived by her son, Ronald and Shirley Winchell of Louisville; daughters, Gloria and William Gerber of Navarre, Dewilla and Chet Rowley of Union Grove, AL., Judy and Larry Glew of Galion, OH; sister, Margaret Currie of Tustin, CA; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wackerly funeral Home with Fr. Raymond L. Paul officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. There will be no calling hours.

Dolores J. Levan
Dolores J. Levan, age 75 of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning, June 6, 2001 in the residence following a two week illness. Born in New Philadelphia, November 7, 1925 to her parents, the late Henry Lester and Nora (Deiser) Homan, she lived most of her life in the Canton area. She was preceded in death by her sister, Iona Mae Homan; brother, Charles Homan; grandson, James Timothy Culp. Survivors include her husband, Guy L. Levan Sr. of the home to whom she was married 53 years; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kay and James Culp of Canton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Francis Murphy of Florida, Guy Levan Jr. and JoAnn Levan of North Canton; three grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday (TODAY) 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of North Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her name to Mercy Medical Center Hospice, 1320 Mercy Drive, Canton, OH 44708. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Kenneth N. Hamilton, Jr.
Dr. Kenneth N. Hamilton, Jr., of North Canton, passed away Tuesday evening in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born June 24, 1943, in Miami Beach, FL to the late Kenneth N. and Margaret H. Hamilton, and grew up in Berkeley Heights, NJ. He graduated from West Liberty State College with a B.A. in history and economics, Ohio University with an M.A. in economics and West Virginia University with a Ph.D. in economics. While at West Liberty State College, he was NAIA All-American in football and a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. During his career, he was a professor at West Liberty State, Wheeling Jesuit, Spring Hill Jesuit, Mobile, AL, and since 1997 was the president of Walsh University in North Canton. Dr. Hamilton was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Canton Chamber of Commerce, Central Catholic Board, The Catholic Consortium Board, Stark Development Board, Fund for the Art Budget and Allocations Committee, and the United Way of Central Stark County Board. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret Peggy of the home; daughter, Laura of New York City; brother, Wayne and Lynne Hamilton of Palm Desert, CA; sister, Wendy and Tom Radnovich of Kenneth City, FL; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Pauline Newcomer of Largo, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, Diocese of Youngstown, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. There will be a parish wake service at 1:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Walsh University Capitol Campaign Fund.

Emily R. Ohlinger
Emily Rhea Ohlinger, 13 day old infant daughter of Raymond and Pamela (Leedy) Ohlinger of Canton, passed away June 4, 2001 in Akron Childrens Hospital. Besides her parents, survivors include her brother, Ian Ohlinger of the home; paternal grandparents, Raymond Sr. and Joanne Ohlinger of Pulaski, PA; and maternal grandparents, Ernest and Joyce Leedy of Canton; two uncles, Steve Leedy of Grand Rapids, MI and Jeff Ohlinger of Hubbard, OH. Funeral services and burial will be private for the family. A memorial service for the public will be held Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Whipple Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.

Goldie Marie Cooley
Goldie Marie Cooley, 78, of East Rochester, died in her home Tuesday following a long illness. Born in Oneida, OH., November 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Lula Grace (Beadle) Ferguson. She is survived by son, Joseph (Bob) R. Leggett of East Canton; daughters, Mrs. Carol (Cecil) Curfman of East Rochester, Cathy (Katie) Curfman of East Rochester; sister, Virginia Barnes of Oneida; son-in-law, Lawrence Wells of New Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Wells; brothers, Wilbur, Earl, Victor, Joseph, Grover, and Robert; sisters, Mary Ferguson and Sarah Greathouse. Graveside services will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery, Malvern, at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2001, with Rev. Mitch Funkhouser officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday 7-9 p.m. at the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home, Malvern.

Harold L. Mulheim
Harold L. Mully Mulheim, age 85, of Canton, died Wednesday morning in his home after a short battle with cancer. He was a life resident of Canton, and retired in 1975 from the Canton City Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, St. John's Guild, and Canton Council No. 341 K. of C. Survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Catherine Mickey Mulheim; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marcia and Ron Howenstine, and Kathy Mulheim all of North Canton; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Barb Mulheim of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Mike Howenstine and his wife, Theresa; and their children, Matthew and Garrett, Diann Craig and her husband, Mike, and their children, Alexandra and Mitchell, and John Howenstine; and his daughter, Lexi; and a brother, Weldon Mulheim of North Canton. Preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Cooper; and a brother, Warren Mulheim. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with his nephew, Fr. William E. Bantz as celebrant. The procession will form at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. There will be a Last Alarm service Friday at 5:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aultman Hospice. Harold lived his life for his family and never knew a stranger.

Mary E. Muckley
Mary E. Muckley. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home. Friends may call Thursday (TONIGHT) 7-9 p.m.

Rita Jean Kurtz
Rita Jean (Griffith) Kurtz, born Jan. 27, 1932, passed away June 5, 2001 in Marshall, MI. She was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing bingo. Rita dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Survived by six children, Margie Dale (Ronald) of Massillon, OH, Bonnie Kurtz with whom she resided in Marshall, MI, Connie Mallette of Anchorage, AK, Paulette Moore (Ray) of Uniontown, OH, Paul Kurtz, Jr. of Rochester, MI and Gregory Kurtz, Sr. (Joanne) of Lake Orion, MI; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Pettigrew. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 9 at 12 Noon in the Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW, with Rev. Reid Firestone officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Friday call Friday 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Oaklawn, 109 N. Jefferson, Marshall, MI 49068.

Ronald F. Teeter
Ronald F. Teeter, age 49, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Cleveland Clinic following a courageous battle with cancer. Formerly of Canton, he had attended Oakwood High School. He graduated from Lorain High School. He was employed as a supervisor at Ferro Industries in Cleveland. Ron is survived by his wife, Denise (Silagy); and son, Michael of the home; his mother, Midge Kintz of Canton; father, Rolla Teeter of Amherst; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Duane Moser, Jill and Michael Lauter; two stepbrothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Jean Kintz, Dave and Jean Kintz; two stepsisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Tony Rogers, Judy and Dick Manley.

Scott Eric Harman
Scott Eric Harman. Scotty went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 5, 2001. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Slyh officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours in he funeral home Thursday (TONIGHT) 7-9 p.m.

William L. Morris
William L. Morris, age 79, of East Canton, died Wednesday morning in Manor Care, Belden Village, following an extended illness. He was born in Shadyside, OH, and had resided in the Canton area most of his life. He worked as a powerhouse engineer for Pioneer Foods for 28 years and then was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, IN for 11 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II, and was an active member of the Canton Baptist Temple and Ambassador Sunday School Class. Mr. Morris was also a member of the Stark County Gem and Mineral Club, Sugarcreek Valley Chapter of the Archaeological Society of Ohio, National Rifle Assoc., and U.S. Merchant Marine Veterans, Canton Hall of Fame Chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Kathleen Morris; and brothers, James and Robert Morris. He is survived by his wife, Wilma M. Morris, to whom he was married for 57 years; his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry L. and Nancy Morris, Gregory P. and Jeanette Morris both of East Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Janet C. and Gerald Newell of Louisville, OH; grandsons, Aaron P. Morris, Brandon W. Morris, David L. Newell and Robert D. Newell; sisters, Martha Skaggs of Logan, OH., Betty Sturgill of St. Clairsville, OH., and Janalene Kindelberger of Navarre, OH; sister-in-law, Patricia Morris of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday (TONIGHT) at 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, OH. Calling hours Thursday (TONIGHT) from 6 p.m. to the time of services. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
