Amy Amato
Amy Marie Amato, age 14 of Delaware died Friday (July 28, 2000) at Children's Hospital, Columbus from injuries received in an automobile accident at County Road 25 and Ohio 61, Fulton.
She was born on June 12, 1986 in Columbus. Amy recently completed the eighth grade at Delaware Christian School. She was a member of the Delaware Christian Church and was active in the church's youth group. She enjoyed playing the piano, swimming and volleyball.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary A. (Terry) Wynn and Tom Wynn of Delaware; father and step-mother John and Sherry (Thompson) Amato of Mt. Gilead; sister Emily Wynn of Delaware; step-brother Johnathan Thompson of Mt. Gilead; grandparents Barbara Terry of Delaware, Fred and Sandra Terry of Delaware, Carroll and Ann Wynn of Delaware; great-grandmother Mary Toney of Delaware; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding her in death were grandparents Carmel M. and Marialyce Amato; sister Carly Lynn Amato and cousin Erica Marie Amato.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware. A funeral mass was held at St. Mary Church, Delaware with Father Kevin Kavanaugh and Pastors Al Perry and Gerald Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Carly Amato
Carly Lynn Amato, age 5 of Mt. Gilead, died unexpectedly following an automobile accident at County Road 25 and Ohio 61, Fulton on Thursday (July 27, 2000).
She was born in Delaware on October 27, 1994 to John and Sherry (Thompson) Amato of Mt. Gilead. Carly enjoyed church and attended the Sunbury Weslyan Church. She liked to swim, spend time with her family, hunt and fish with her father, play with her Barbie dolls, and participated in gymnastics at Oak Creek in Kilbourne.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by a brother Johnathan Thompson of Mt. Gilead; grandparents Larry and Judy Thompson of Delaware; great-grandparents Maggie Thompson of Delaware, Clarence and Mariam Bradley of Delaware; great-great-grandmother Joselpha Bradley of Delaware; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Accompanying her in death were her grandparents Carmel M. and Marialyce Amato; sister Amy Marie Amato; and cousin Erica Marie Amato.

Carmel Amato
Carmel M. Amato, age 76 of Delaware, died unexpectedly following an automobile accident at County Road 25 and Ohio 61, Fulton on Thursday (July 27, 2000).
He was born on November 27, 1923 in Marion to the late Joseph and Lottie (Hildreth) Amato. He was a graduate of York Center High School, Class of 1941. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Carmel moved to Delaware in 1947 from Massilon. He retired as Captain in 1979 from the Delaware City Police Department, serving on the department for 26 years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, the V.F.W., Delaware Eagles #376, and Delaware Royal Order of Moose. He enjoyed home remodeling, and he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.
Accompanying him in death were his wife, Marialyce Hartsough Amato, whom he married in 1947; grandchildren Amy Marie and Carly Lynn Amato; and great-granddaughter Erica Marie Amato. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Amato, who died in 1992.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Greg and Amy of Santa Monica, Calif., Tom and Susi of Delaware, John and Sherry of Mt. Gilead and Joseph and Crissy of Delaware; daughter Elaine Amato of Delaware; grandchildren Sophie and Olivia, Bobby and Leann, Jerrod, Danielle, Savannah and Sabrina; great-grandson Cole; brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Dorothy Amato of Delaware, Larry and Ruth Amato of Delaware; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Frank Davis of Richwood, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Erica Amato
Erica Marie Amato, age 6 of Delaware, died unexpectedly on Thursday (July 27, 2000) following an automobile accident at County Road 25 and Ohio 61 in Fulton.
She was born on January 13, 1994 in Columbus to Bobby Lee and Carey Ann (Jackson) Amato of Delaware. She was baptized at St. Mary Church. She was a student at Conger Elementary School. She enjoyed Girl Scouts, 4-H Club, softball, and she wanted to be a cheerleader. She loved bike rides with her dad and PaPa. She also liked to play with her dog and family.
She is survived by her brother Cole, whom she helped care for; grandparents Elaine Amato of Delaware, Robert Popovich of Radnor, Bill and Nancy Jackson Jr. of Sunbury; great-grandparents Betty Jackson of Columbus, Shirley McLurg of Hilliard, Bill Jackson Sr. of Delaware; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Accompanying her in death were her great-grandparents Carmel "PaPa" and Marialyce "Nar Nar" Amato, and cousins Amy and Carly Amato.

Marialyce Amato
Marialyce Amato, age 77 of Delaware, died unexpectedly following an automobile accident at County Road 25 and Ohio 61, Fulton.
She was born on April 6, 1923 in Delaware to the late Shad J. and Mary A. (Ferris) Hartsough. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Mary High School Class of 1941.
Marialyce retired in 1999 as a secretary for the Ohio Department of Transportation, District #6, where she had worked for 18 years. Prior to ODOT she worked as an assistant for the State Attorney General. She was a member of St. Mary Church, a 50 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of Card Club. She enjoyed baking, a trait she learned from her father whom baked for the Hamburger Inn. She also enjoyed traveling and sewing. Her most important joy was her family and her grandchildren.
Accompanying her in death were her husband, Carmel Amato, whom she married in 1947; grandchildren Amy Amato and Carly Lynn Amato, and great-granddaughter Erica Marie Amato. She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Hartsough, who died in 1995.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Amy of Santa Monica, Calif., Tom and Susi of Delaware, John and Sherry of Mt. Mildred Amstutz
Mildred Amstutz, 86, Bluffton, died Tuesday morning (October 23, 2001) at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.
She was born on December 1, 1914 in Sunbury to Robert J. and Adah Gelston.
A 1932 graduate of Big Walnut High School and a 1936 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. Amstutz was a retired teacher. She taught at Lima Senior, Vandalia, Anchorage (Alaska) and, Columbus-area schools. Amstutz retired from teaching at Riverdale High School.
She was a member of Green Valley (Arizona) Community Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 121 in Lafayette, Ohio, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 471 in Green Valley, Arizona.
Amstutz is survived by a brother-in-law, Fred (Mary) Amstutz of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Amstutz, whom she married on August 10, 1957.
A memorial service will be held a later date.

Charles E. Anderson
Charles E. Anderson, 73, Sunbury, died Saturday (August 11, 2001) morning at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Columbus on March 11, 1928 to the late Clyde and Mabel R. (Alber) Anderson. Anderson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and a member of VFW Post 8736 in Sunbury. He was a member of the Archaeological Society of Ohio and an avid outdoorsman.
Anderson is survived by a son, Clyde (Peggy) Anderson of Sunbury; two daughters, Sue (Woody) Ramey of Salt Rock, West Virginia and Charleen (Mark) Kuhn of Sunbury; a stepson, Barry (Esther) Brown of Butte, Montana; 12 grandchildren, Amy, Andrea, Julie, Jennifer, Mark, Charlie, Nicholas, Rebecca, Heather, Sara, Justin and Jason; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, George (Marvel) of Racine, Ohio and Jimmy (Norma) of Columbus; and two sisters, Jean (Kenny) Stroemer and Charlotte (John) Dillon, both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver and Donald.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury where services were held with Pastor Jan Ruark officiating. Interment followed with military honors provided by VFW Post 8736 in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Dorothy Anderson
Dorothy H. Anderson, 65, of Galena, died Tuesday evening (May 30, 2000) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born in Wytheville, Va., on Nov. 28, 1934, to the late Bane and Lola Mae (Sparks) Anderson. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Galena area for 24 years after coming from Indiana.
Surviving are her son and his fiancee, John Anderson and Terri Higgins, both of Galena; one grandchild; and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Carrol Anderson of Brazil, Ind.
Memorial services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with the Rev. Ryland Presley officiating.
Georgia W. Anderson
Georgia W. Anderson, 86, of Sunbury, died Friday afternoon (Feb. 6, 1998) at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.
He was born on June 11, 1911 in Clay County, Ky., to the late John and Leova (Rice) Anderson. He had lived in Sunbury since 1965, when he moved here from Croton. He was retired from the Ohio Wesleyan University maintenance department, and was a member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM in Sunbury.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Agnes Anderson of Sunbury; three grandchildren and their spouses, Lori and David Cherry of Croton, Kelly and Jamie Wampler of Sunbury, and Trent and Carrie Anderson of Columbus; great-grandchildren Donovan, Kelly and Josh Anderson, Garrett Dunhugh, and Erin Wampler; a half-sister, Elsie Gilbert, of Frankfort, Ky.; and sisters-in-law Bertha Rice of Sunbury and Naomi Green, of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Letha Jo Anderson,on July 30, 1993; and by sons Edward and Doyle J. Anderson.

Ruth F. Anderson
Ruth F. Anderson, 68, Sunbury, formerly of Marengo, died Friday (March 31, 2000) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born May 5, 1931, in Cattlesburg, W.Va., to the late Jesse and Martha (Ross) Scarberry.
A homemaker, she was a member of Sunbury Church of the Nazarene and co-director of Ruth's Club House.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Robert Lepley, Tuana and Vernon Wilson, Millersburg, Cindy and Mark Kelley, Walnut Creek, and Brenda and Ken Kelley, Hamilton, Mich.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Lolla Anderson, Columbus, Jeff and Brenda Anderson, Cardington, and Paul and Twana Anderson, Marion; a brother, Richard Scarberry, Seminole, Fla.; a sister, Zorrita Caudill, Columbus; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous neices, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert L. Anderson; and a brother, Frank Scarberry.

Doris M. Andrich
Doris M. Andrich, 85, Middlefield, formerly of Galena and Altoona, Florida, died Sunday morning (June 16, 2002) at Briar Hill Health Care Center in Middlefield. She is dearly missed by her family and friends, even as she has gone to be with her Lord.
Andrich was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1917, to the late Ralph and Nellie (Apps) Dillinger. She was a homemaker and member of Rural Chapel United Methodist Church, Galena.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Donald and Roxanne Andrich of Toledo and William and Emma Andrich of Delaware; daughters and sons-in-law Jane and Jesse Smith of Galena, Virginia and William Norman of Middlefield, and Maxine and Leroy Dixon of Altoona, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence (Margaret) Dillinger of St. Petersburg, Florida; a sister, Florence Galczynski Eustis of Florida; and by several nieces and nephews.
Andrich was preceded in death by her husband, George Andrich, who passed away November 2, 1982. They were married November 6, 1935. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation was at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held with Pastor Russell Hamm officiating. Interment followed in the Cheshire Cemetery.

Stanley J. Andruzis
Stanley John "Andy" Andruzis, 45, Galena, died Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) at Grady Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 21, 1954, in Pittston, W.Va., to Stanley A. and Eleanor Romanoski Andruzis. His mother survives in Cross Lanes, W.Va.
He was a 1972 graduate of Nitro High School, Nitro, W.Va. He loved to be out in the fresh air and enjoyed snow skiing and other outdoor activities. He was a member of the Sunbury Eagles lodge and operated his own concrete business.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Andrew and John, both of Galena; one daughter, Jacque, Galena; three sisters, Linda Hutton, Winfield, W.Va., and Joyce Andruzis-Lee and Karen Andruzis, Cross Lanes, W.Va.; and two close friends, Molly and Sally.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, David.
A memorial service was held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with the Rev. David E. Gwinner presiding. Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware, assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Andruzis College Fund in care of any family member.
Alvin Ankrom
Alvin Y. "Al" Ankrom Sr., 80, formerly of Columbus, died Friday (July 16, 1999) at Windsong Village in Worthington.
He was born June 8, 1919, in Columbus, to the late Lee Zemroy and Myrtle (Montgomery) Ankrom.
He was an electrician with the former Pence Electric Co. of Columbus and a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Darlene and James Hale, Sunbury, and Geraldine Ankrom; one son, Alvin Y. Ankrom Jr.; one brother, Wayne Ankrom, Pennsboro, W.Va.; five sisters, Mona Jordan and Ethel Deyo, both of Mount Gilead, Helen Haynam, Westerville, Imogene Sesler, Columbus, and Grace Dymek, Millersport; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Fred, Leeroy, George and Earl; and two sisters, Geraldine Smith and an infant.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury where funeral services were also held. Graveside committal services were Monday at Glen Rest Cemetery.
Kenny Ashbrook
Kenny Ashbrook, 60, Johnstown, died Sunday (August 19, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. Funeral services were held Thursday (August 23, 2001) at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home in Johnstown with Pastor Mike Dexter and Pastor Ross Hartley officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown.
Mr. Ashbrook was born January 1, 1941 in Johnstown to the late Otis and Mary Walker Ashbrook. He retired after 28 years from Kroger, Inc. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Sunbury.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol Ashbrook of Johnstown; two sons, Ken A. Ashbrook of Newark and Kevin A. (Heather) Ashbrook of Johnstown; two brothers, Clarence Ashbrook of Sunbury and Wayne (Emma Jean) Ashbrook of Johnstown; and four grandchildren, Blake, Nathanael, Aubrey and Joshua Ashbrook.
Ashbrook was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Ashbrook.
Visitation was at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home.

Minnie Ashbrook
Minnie Ashbook, 84, of Delaware, and formerly of Johnstown, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) at Delaware County Health Care. Graveside services were at Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown, with the Rev. Thomas Lasley officiating.

Edwin Augspurger
Edwin Arthur Augspurger, 91, Delaware, passed away on Nov. 19, 1999.
He was a retired dairy farmer. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School and the Ohio State University College of Agriculture. He was a member of the National, State of Ohio and Regional Ayrshire Breeders Association.
He is survived by his wife Marcia (Ramey) Augspurger; sons Roland and Richard; daughter Marilyn Hale; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Paul D. Azbell
Paul D. Azbell, 65, Centerburg and formerly of Delaware, died Sunday (Feb. 21, 1999) at Veterans Hospital, Chillicothe.
He was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Columbus to the late Russell H. Azbell and Sylvia M. (Hilyard) Azbell, who survives in Delaware. A U.S. Army veteran, he has lived between Delaware and Mount Liberty/Centerburg for the past 20 years. He was the retired owner of the former Union 76 service station and body shop in Centerburg, a member of the Centerburg Lions Club and an avid sports fan and antique collector.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Jo Picklesimer, Danville, Cathy Azbell, Hilliard, and Jackie McCoy and Brenda and David Williams, all of Columbus; two sons, David Azbell, Daytona, Fla., and Paul Dean Azbell Jr., Danville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Lee and Lamelua Azbell, Amarillo, Texas, and James R. and Phyllis Azbell, Delaware; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen Jean and William Alexander, Peoria, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren
Graveside funeral services were held at the Fairview Cemetery near Rockbridge. Arrangements were handled by DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware.
