Donald Bailey
Donald M. Bailey, 69, of Galena, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at St. Ann's Hospital.
He retired from West-Camp Press and was a member of Church of the Saviour United Methodist.
Surviving are his wife, Rhea; his children, Donna Warner of Delaware, Warren and Jean Bailey of Pataskala, Malynda Bailey of Delaware; Kevin Bailey of Hilliard, and Jennifer Bailey of Galena; a son-in-law, David Warner; a daughter-in-law, Laura Bailey; a granddaughter, Jennette Warner; a grandson, Ian Michael Bailey; a great-granddaughter, Lauri Johnson; sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bill Kirk and Nelda Green; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Mabel Bailey, Charles and Viola Bailey, Vern and Garnet Bailey, Clark and Betty Bailey, Harold and Theresa Bailey, and Harry and June Bailey Jr.; brothers-in-law, Ted Rugg, Reed and Nioma, John and Norma, and Randy Bowmar; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, on Friday where services were held with Pastor William Hunt officiating. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park.
Henry R. Bailey
Henry R. Bailey, 79, Sunbury, died early Wednesday (Dec. 9, 1998) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
He was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Reedsville, Ohio, to the late Nathan H. and Ella (Holsinger) Bailey. He moved to Sunbury 39 years ago from Columbus. He was a World War II United States Army veteran. He retired in 1980 from General Motors, Columbus, where he worked in the chrome plate department. Bailey enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beatrice L. (Boring) Bailey. One daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bernie Cheadle, Sunbury; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Judy Bailey, Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Michelle Woodruff, Molly and Joshua Cheadle, Gidget Dietzel and Denver and Jessica Bailey; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at the funeral home. The Rev. Rolland Edwards officiated. Burial was in Sunbury Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.

Kevin Bailey
Kevin W. Bailey, 29, Hilliard, died Monday (May 13, 2002) at home.
A store manager for ComStation at West Pointe Plaza, Hilliard, he was formerly employed by Best Buy at Tuttle Crossing. He was a member of the Big Walnut High School Class of 1991.
Surviving are his wife, Laura M. (Funk) Bailey; a son, Ian; his mother, Rhea F. Bailey of Galena; sisters and brothers, Donna Warner, Warren and Laura Jean Bailey, Melinda Bailey, and Jennifer Bailey; his mother and father-in-law and spouses, Kathryn and John Humbert and Michael and Teresa Funk; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Funk; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald M. Bailey.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. A private interment was held.

Raymond Bailey
Raymond E. Bailey, 50, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Westerville, died on Friday (Oct. 20, 2000) at West Palm Beach Gardens Hospital.
He was the minister of Unity of the Palm Beaches, West Palm Beach.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Gregory Good of Westerville and Tammy and Mauro Baldassarre of Columbus; three grandchildren, Donnie and Bailey Good and Anna Baldassarre; his parents, Charles and Viola Bailey of Westerville; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Ted Hess of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Bailey of Westerville; nieces and nephews Tony Aviles, Cara Shope, and Michael and Stephanie Bailey; and numerous cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, with funeral services at Unity Church of Christianity, Columbus, with the Rev. Sandra Weisner officiating. A graveside service and interment will be at a later date.
Addison Baird
Addison B. "Bud" Baird, 81, Sunbury, died Wednesday (December 12, 2001) at Manor Care of Westerville.
A retired farmer and employee of the Ohio Gas Company, he was a member of the Jersey Cattle Association.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline; three children and spouses, Bonnie and Daryl Althauser of Westerville, Dale Addison of Michigan, and Greg Addison and Lynn of Toledo; stepchildren, Kim and Henry Ward of Westerville, Ernie and Tammy Morris of North Carolina, and Vicki Edwards of Wellston; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and George Penny; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Addison and Hugh and Louise Addison, all of Canada.
Visitation and funeral services were held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, on Friday (December 14, 2001) with the Rev. James H. Trace Jr. officiating. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery.
John W. Baker Jr.
John W. Baker Jr., 54, of Sunbury, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Baker Sr.
Surviving are his loving wife, Judy; two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula and Tim Shaw, and Connie Baker; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Michelle, Scott and Karen, and Paul and Casie; 10 special grandchildren; his mother, Rosemary (Baker) Boyd; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dollie and Steve Mower, Janet and Steve Jones, and Pam Willis; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A 30-year employee of the City of Columbus Water Division, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Visitation was held at Hill Funeral Home, Westerville, where funeral services were held.
Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Cemetery.
Robert Baker
Robert Eugene Baker went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2001, at OSU Hospital.
He was born on June 4, 1958, in Columbus to the late Margaret C. (Hunady) and John C. Baker. He took great pride in being a licensed ham radio operator N8SAV and was very active in the Newark Amateur Radio Club and the Ohio Amateur Radio Emergency Service.
Surviving are his much-loved fiancee, Bunny Hand; a brother, John; three sisters, Patty, Cecilia, and Cheryl; nephews Jason, David and Cole; nieces Michael, Mandy, Jamie Dawn and Ashton; two aunts, Clara and Mary; and many cousins.
Memorial services were held at Heath Nursing and Convalescent Center, Heath. Arrangements were in the care of Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society/Rodman Funeral Service.
Mary E. Baldeser
Mary E. Baldeser, 85, Galena, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born in Callaway, Virg., on June 26, 1914, to the late John C. and Della (Clayton) Basham. She moved to Galena in the 1950s from Westerville.
A homemaker, she enjoyed handicrafts, crocheting and making quilts.
She is surved by two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley Moreland, Pataskala, and Mary and Bob Bowmar, Sunbury; a son, Kenneth A. Baldeser, Golconda, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mabel Basham, Mount Vernon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva and Wilbur VanHouten and Delsie and Bill Estep, all Sunbury; four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E., on June 25, 1991; three brothers, John, Bill and George; and three sisters, Beverly Means, Okie Reffitt and Ora Meeker.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Graveside services were held at Fairview Memorial Park, Delaware.

Charles "Chuck" Baldwin
Charles "Chuck" Baldwin, 58, of Johnstown, passed away suddenly on Sunday (June 30, 2002).
He was the owner of Baldwin Fence Co. for 33 years.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; his children and spouses, Ed and Heather Baldwin, Josie and Jimmy Scott, Tony Baldwin, Miranda Mills, Dana Mills, Kay Mills, and Bobby Baldwin; eight grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Jordan, Lauren, Travis, Nick, Camden, and Bryce; two brothers and sisters-in-law, A.C. and Marjorie Mann and Hugh and Shan Mann; two sisters, Cloeanna Garrabrant and Charlotte Richey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; and his parents, Carroll and Ora.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where services were held. Interment was in Fancher Cemetery.
Charles S. Baldwin
Charles S. Baldwin, 79, died Tuesday (July 31, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.
Charles was a World War II veteran, a member of the Dairy Shrine and Ohio State University Dairy Hall of Fame. He retired from the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Betsy (Robin) Morgan and Barbara (Ron) Barts; four grandchildren, Katie and Kris Morgan and Amanda and Ryan Barts.
The funeral was private. Friends called at the home of Robin and Betsy Morgan on Sunday (August 5, 2001) in Sunbury.
Arrangements were by Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home.
Herb Baldwin
Herb W. Baldwin, 81, Sunbury, died Wednesday (March 15, 2000) at Delaware Court Nursing Center, Delaware.
He was born in Columbus on May 22, 1918, to the late Herbert Lee and Sarah Ella (Cidress) Baldwin.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he participated in 60 beach landings during five years of service to his country.
He retired in 1970 as a foreman for Columbus Bolt Works, then worked 10 years for the Wackenhut Security Co., Columbus. He was owner and operator of Baldwin Fence Co. in Columbus. He attended Asbury United Methodist Church South, was a member of the VFW Post 8763, and he loved all people, especially the people of Sunbury. He also liked to bowl, liked the mechanics of small motors, fishing and hunting and was a baseball coach, league bowler and a boxer in his youth.
He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Cox, Columbus, and Linda Rannebarger; a son, Stephen Baldwin; a sister, Betty Baldwin; and four grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Mildred Ruth (Cramer) Baldwin, in 1984; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Interement with military honors was held at Otterbein Cemetery, Westerville.

Pat Bale
A. Patrecia "Pat" Bale, 74, Galena, died Monday (July 5, 1999) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, on Dec. 20, 1924, to the late Leo and Muriel Nash.
She was a homemaker and retired day care teacher for Don-A-Dell Day Care in Delaware, retiring in 1995 after 17 years of teaching. She was a World War II Australian Air Force veteran.
She was a member of West Berlin Presbyterian Church, Olentangy Western Riding Club, American Legion Auxillary Post No. 171, Ohio Belgian Horse Association, Delaware County 4-H Key adviser and a former 4-H adviser for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert W. "Bob" Bale, whom she married June 20, 1944, in Brisbane, Australia; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Sam Kimpel, Elida; two grandchildren, Sam R. Kimpel, Delphos, and Margaret Anne Kimpel, Elida; two brothers Peter Nash and David Miller, both Australia; and a sister, Nola Wilson, Australia.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepfather, David Miller; and a brother, Don Nash.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services will be held with the Revs. Barbara Morrison and Robert Butts officiating. Burial will follow in Africa Cemetery.

Robert W. "Bob" Bale
Robert W. "Bob" Bale, 84, Galena, died Saturday (March 30, 2002) evening unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Galena on January 29, 1918, to the late Walter and Leona (Wherry) Bale in the house where he lived. Bale was a graduate of Orange High School, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Nestle's, formerly of Sunbury, and then worked for Producers Livestock.
Bale was a member of West Berlin Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #0171, Olentangy Western Riding Club, the former Africa Wesleyan Methodist Church, the Delaware County Farm Bureau, the Delaware County Agricultural Society, the Ohio Belgian Breeders Association and the National Rifle Association. He was also a 4-H leader and was involved with 4-H for 46 years.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen (Sam) Kimpel of Elida; two grandchildren, Sam R. Kimpel of Delphos and Margaret Anna Kimpel of Elida; two brothers, Walter (Jo) Bale of Sunbury and Clarence (June) Bale of Chesterville; and a nephew, Jerry (Sarah) Bale of Centerburg.
Bale was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Anna "Pat" Bale, on July 5, 1999.
Visitation was at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury where services were held with the Reverend Barbara Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Africa Cemetery.

Douglas Eugene Ball
Douglas Eugene Ball, 69, Sunbury, died Monday (December 24, 2001) at his residence. He was born September 25, 1932 in Lewis Center to Spencer and Ethel (Jackson) Ball.
Mr. Ball was a United States Navy veteran and an employee of Ranco where he was an inspection foreman.
He is survived by one son, Doug (Laura) Ball of Columbus; one grandchild, Spencer Douglas Ball of Columbus; a longtime companion, Twila Williamson of Sunbury; three brothers, Sherman L. (Blanche) Ball Sr. of Lewis Center, Howard (Thelma) Ball of Hilliard and Garnet (Marty) Ball of Columbus; two sisters, Marjorie Strobel of Greenville and Ruth Holcross of Holiday, Florida.
Mr. Ball was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Spencer Ball, and one nephew, Sherman L. Ball Jr.
Visitation was at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home where services were held with the Revered Norman Voltz officiating. Burial was in Africa Cemetery with the Delaware County Veterans Association providing military honors.
Glenn D. Ballinger
Glenn D. Ballinger, 78, Galena, died Wednesday (Aug. 25, 1999) at Mount Carmel Medical Center West, Columbus.
He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Gas City, Ind., to Ira and Margaret (Nelson) Ballinger. He had lived in the Galena area since 1975.
Mr. Ballinger, a World War II Navy/Coast Guard veteran, retired as general manager for Country Mutual Insurance Co., Sunbury, in 1998. He was a member of Genoa Baptist Church, Big Walnut Morning Lions Club, Masonic Lodge No. 645 F&AM, Gas City, Ind., and Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty J. (Griffin) Ballinger; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ric and Debbie, Gahanna, and Alan and Danuta, New Castle; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Jim Rumora,
Galena; a brother and sister-in-law, James Eldon and Helen Ballinger of California; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Walter Rumple, Scotsburg, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Dwight, Murval, Gene, Leon and Ernie.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where Masonic services were also held. Funeral services were at Genoa Baptist Church, with the Revs. L. Wayne Booth and Frank Carl officiating. Burial was at Burnside Cemetery, Genoa Township.

Ronald F. Bandy
Ronald F. Bandy, 66, Sunbury, formerly of Bowling Green, died Monday (August 6, 2001). He was born February 18, 1936 in Dayton.
Bandy was retired from Bowling Green State University where was was an Associate Professor of Art. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University and his Master's Degree from the University of Florida. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his son, Nick (Tracey) Bandy, and grandson, Jackson Bandy both of Lewis Center.
Friends were received at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
