Andrew Johnstone Bailey
Andrew Johnstone Bailey, age 87, of Massillon passed away Friday. He was born in Donora, PA., to the late Edward K. and Nellie (Ronald) Bailey. Andy was raised in Dennison and Uhrichsville and moved to Massillon in 1924. He retired in 1974 from Massillon Steel Castings. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mable Wagner; and brothers, Earl E. and Ronald E. Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Helen of the residence with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage October 21st.; a son, Robin C. Bailey of Massillon; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until the service on Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Memorials may be made in his memory to either First United Methodist Church Youth Group or the Wilderness Center.
Elizabeth D. Flynn
Elizabeth D. (Betsy) Flynn, 58, of Uniontown died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in Las Vegas. She was born on June 4, 1943 in Woodbury, NJ to Warren and Katherine (Kamp) Danforth and lived in Rittman before moving to the Akron-Uniontown area. She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School in Verona, PA in 1961, and from Mt. Union College with a bachelor's degree in education in 1965. She was an Special Education teacher at Lake High School in Uniontown. She was a member of the National and Ohio Education Associations. Betsy was an avid golfer. Surviving area a daughter, Katherine (Deron) Flynn Henry of Kernersville, NC; son, Scott Flynn of Las Vegas; her mother, Katherine Danforth, and brother, Joseph Danforth both of Uniontown. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Monday at the Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman. There will be no funeral services. Burial of her cremains will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of her father, Warren B. Danforth, to the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W Market St., Suite 301, Akron OH 44313-7067.
Gary L. Carter
Gary L. Carter, age 48, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning at his home. He was employed by TransTechnology as Quality Assurance Manager. Gary was currently a member of Crossview Worship Center where he was formerly a member of the church board. He was formerly a member of North industry Christian Church where he had been a deacon and trustee. Gary held an Associate degree from Stark Tech, a BA degree from Malone College, and MBA degree from Ashland College and was a journeyman machinist when he was employed at the Timken Company. He was a member of the American Society of Quality, a former member of Canton Jaycees, a Canton Local little league softball coach, and had been a former member of the Canton Local School Board. Survived by his wife, Pamela (Lashinske) Carter; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michael and April Teis of Massillon, Kim Carter of the home; one son, Jared Carter of the home; his parents, Bill and Grace Carter of Canton; brother and a sister-in-law, Bruce and Georgia Carter of Canton; two nieces, Ashley and Meredith. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at North Industry Christian Church with Stephen Kimbrel and Rev. Lindsey Hayes officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Kreighbaum- Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave., when the casket will be closed and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. There will be a private viewing for family and close friends on Monday 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. John Logozzo
John Logozzo, age 63, of Waynesburg, passed away Friday morning in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Canton, a son of the James and Mary Falcone Logozzo, Sr., and had been a life resident of the Magnolia-Waynesburg area. He was a 1955 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. John retired in July of 2000 from Midwest Brokering Inc. of Minerva, after 25 years service, where he worked in the Service Dept. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg; Minerva Eagles #2199; and Donald G. Whetstone V.F.W. Post #4120 in Minerva. Preceded in death by a brother, James Logozzo, Jr. Survived by his wife, Nancy L. Logozzo, with whom he celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 27, 2000; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Logozzo, of Santa Ana, CA; Scott and Susan Logozzo, of Fountain Hills, AZ; two grandchildren, Vito and Sophia Logozzo; one sister, Mrs. Steven (Sally Ann) Fedoravich, of North Canton; one niece and one nephew, Celina and Steve Fedoravich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. M. Ella Kent
M. Ella Kent, age 76, of Canton, passed away Monday evening, July 2, 2001 in Aultman Hospital following a two week illness. Born in Greenville, RI, Dec. 13, 1924 to her parents the late Frank and Eva (Lagasse) Stockwell, she has lived most of her life in the Canton area and was a retired employee of Doctors Hospital, retiring in 1987. She as preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles Kent, Aug. 21, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Estella Mae Kent and Karen Lee Kent, both of Canton, OH; her son, C. David Kent and his wife, Sheryl of Sarasota, FL; one brother, William Francis Stockwell; her sister, May Williams, both of Rhode Island, two grandchildren, David Jason Kent of Atlanta, GA and Kelly Lynn Kent of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted Friday (today) at 9 a.m. for the immediate family in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Daniel H. McKee officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Assoc. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rita E. Graham
Rita E. Graham, age 75, of Canton, OH, passed away Thursday Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH, January 13, 1926 to her parents the late James Henry and Gladys Naomi (Hunter) McKinley. Mrs. Graham was a former employee of Onesto Hotel from 1974-1978 when she underwent the first of three open-heart surgeries. She was a member of Democratic Party and the Election Committee. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Marie McKinley Root, April 2, 1974; her nephew, Stanley Lewis Evans, Feb. 15. 1992. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Graham of the home, to whom she was married 54 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Kenneth and Janet Graham of North Canton; her daughter, Sheila Jeannine Graham of Canton, OH; five grandsons, Michael and Jenn Graham, Matthew Graham, Nathan Graham, Aaron Duckworth, Paul Duckworth; and one nieces, Sharon Ray Wilson Harding. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home Sunday 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
Robert L. Meeks
Robert L. Meeks, age 73, of Tuscarawas, OH died unexpectedly late Wednesday. Born March 21, 1928 in Freeport, OH to the late Clyde and Adeline Meeks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Patty of the home with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage, one daughter, Shirley Roberts of New Philadelphia, OH and one son, Mark Allen Meeks of Houston, TX. There are four grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley, Daniel and Christopher also surviving. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Sunset Hills Burial Park.

Thomas F. Bour
Thomas F Bour, 58, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, July 2, 2001. Tom worked for Area Wide Protective Services in Canton. Survived by wife, Kathy; daughters Victoria and Christina of Canton; mother, Gladys M. Bour of New Philadelphia; sisters, Virginia Ginny Loos of Dover and Sandra Betche of New Philadelphia; brother, Brian (Susan) Bour of Bolivar; nieces and great-nieces and great nephews. Tom will be cremated. Memorial calling hours/reception will be Sunday, July 8, 2001 for 2 to 4 PM in the Geib Family Center, next to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia.
