Anne E. Weaver, age 88 of Canton died early Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital. Born August 20, 1912 in Tipp, OH to the late, Maxwell and Laura Clarke. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry Weaver, three brothers, R.B. Clarke, Howard Clarke, Lauress Clarke and three sisters, Hallie Arnold, Loretta Petty and Esther Oster. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Patricia and Frank Given of Florida, Charles and Sandra Weaver of Texas and Karen and Jack Paul of North Canton. There are 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Monday 6-9 p.m.

August Liermann Jr
August Liermann, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. John Nentwick as officiant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday (today) 1-4 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. A Secular Franciscan service will be Friday at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Relief Fund for Overseas Children C/O Diocese of Youngstown, 144 W. Wood St., Youngstown, OH 44503.

Augustus F. Rininger
Augustus F. Rininger, age 60 of Canton died early Friday morning in Altercare of Navarre. Born August 30,1940 in Canton to the late Mervin and Thelma Rininger. He was a member of United Gospel Tabernacle Church of God and was retired from Stark Ceramics after 19 years of service. Preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Rininger. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Barbara Rininger of Canton; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Milodene Powell and Nancy Rexrode both of Kernersville, NC, Arletta Rininger, Vera and Delmer Anderson, Shirley and Barry Elliott and Brenda Sell, all of Canton. There are four aunts, Hazel Essig of Bolivar, OH, Gladys Sanko of Alliance, OH, Charlotte Whittman of Olivia, MN, Betty Varner of North Canton and numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m.

Barry L. Evans
Barry L. Evans, age 52, formerly of Canton, passed away Friday, March 16, 2001 in Houston, TX. He was the son of the late Ray and Harriet Evans. A graduate of Timken High School, Class of '66, and former Canton City Police Officer, he served his country during The Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. Also preceded in death by his aunt, Ruth Sloe. Survived by his sister, Barbara Shankel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Diane, Greg and Janice, Rick and Tami; several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home. Burial of his cremated remains will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. The family suggests memorials be made to the Children's Cancer Research Society.

Bonnie L. Jensen. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home Sunday (tonight) 6-9 p.m.

Clarine (Madison) Blakeley
Clarine (Madison) Blakeley, age 78 of Canton, died Friday evening in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born February 13, 1923 in Salinesville, OH to the late, John and Evangeline Gallagher. She was a member of Canton South Church of the Nazarene. Preceded in death by her first husband, Paul G. Madison; one brother, John Gallagher and two sisters, Martha Weber and Bernice Hutson. Survivors include her husband, Paul Blakeley of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Patrick McMillen of Canton and Cindy and Jim Stroud of North Canton and one son, Paul J. Madison of Canton; seven grandchildren, Tammy Horne, Rick Barnhart, Valerie Richards, Paul J. Madison II, Paula VanMullen, Justin Stroud and Matt Stroud; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Meisner of Salem, OH and her special niece, Alice Rogers and numerous additional nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home on Monday 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday from 12-1 p.m.

David A. Pettas
David A. Pettas. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 1:30 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Monday 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Diane T. McKelley
Diane T. McKelley. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Carey Sloan officiating. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Sunday (today) 2-5 p.m. and one hour before the services at the church on Monday 10-11 a.m. Her wishes were to be cremated following the services and her cremains will be placed in a nich at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Dr. Donald J. Boop
Dr. Donald J. Boop, age 78, of Orrville died Friday evening (March 23, 2001) at Wooster Community Hospital from cancer. Born August 15, 1922 in Lima, OH, he was raised and graduated from high school in Portsmouth, OH. He joined the Navy in WWII, trained as a pharmacist mate. He was transferred to the 1st Marine Division in October of 1944, seeing action on Peleliu and Okinawa (wounded May of 1945). He was award a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Presidential Unit Citation and was honorably discharged in April of 1946. He attended Ohio Northern University starting in August of 1946, and transferring in August of 1949 to the College of Dentistry at Ohio State University (graduating in June of 1953) and was chapter president of Delta Sigma Delta for 2 years. He began practice, in Orrville, in July of 1953 and ending with his forced disability retirement in August of 1978. He was a member of the Augsburg Lutheran Church, a noted golfer, and close to basketball programs of former neighbor Bob Knight. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Pauline (Shank), along with three sons, Donald Craig, Asheville, NC, Leslie Kirk, Brawley, CA and Robert Lyndon, Lancaster, CA and two grandchildren, (Lindsey Nicole and Donielle Lynn by Donald Craig and Paula L. Boop). Calling hours will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville with funeral services there at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Orrville Boys Girls Club (820 N. Ella Street, Orrville, OH 44667.)

Helen M. Wilson
Helen M. Wilson, age 88, formerly of Canton and more recently a resident of Florida and California died Wednesday morning March 21, 2001 in California. Born April 5, 1912 in Marietta, OH to the late Clarence and Carrie Allen. Preceded in death by her husband, Homer A. Wilson on July 13, 1993; one son, Jack Alan Wilson; and one brother, Clifford Allen. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Larry Norris of Alpine, CA and Marjorie J. and Robert Bergmann of Canton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday in the Chapel at North Lawn Cemetery at 10 a.m.

Helen May Brong
Helen May Brong, of North Canton passed away March 15, 2001. Born November 27, 1917, in Millersburg, OH., she was the daughter of Ernest W. and Sadie Stuber Brong. Helen graduated from North Canton High School in 1932. She received secretarial training and worked for many years, retiring from the Eastern Ohio Association of the United Church of Christ in 1983. Helen was a life-long participant in the many activities of Zion United Church of Christ, sharing her life generously with family, friends, and community. She was an avid golfer, seamstress and enjoyed traveling. She is predeceased by her sister, Mildred Poody Brong Thwing. She is survived by her sister, Josephine Brong of North Canton; two nephews, Randy Thwing of Las Vegas, NV., and Rex Thwing of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two nieces, Beth Thomas of Lisle, IL and Jill McGinnis of Coon Rapids, MN; her cousins of North Canton, Ralph Sterzbach and Priscilla Stuber Huffman; and Priscilla daughters, Cathy Button of Allentown, PA., Janice Weber of North Canton, and Rebecca Mullin of Vincennes and their families, who called Helen Aunt Helen. Janice was at her side when Helen passed away. She will be buried in North Canton. A memorial service will be held April 21 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 415 South Main Street, North Canton. Memorials preferred to your favorite charity.

Joseph A. Eafrate
Joseph A. Eafrate. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with burial in North Lawn Cemetery. He was also survived by a son, Joseph P. Eafrate of Las Vegas, NV.

Julius A. Pucci
Julius A. Jiggs Pucci. Friends may call Sunday (tonight) 5-8 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jiggs' name can be made to St. Joseph Care Center or St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Laura M. Hurd
Laura M. Hurd, age 86, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Canton, OH, died Saturday in Palm Garden Nursing Home. Born in Holloway, OH on July 2, 1914. She was a homemaker and attended Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Rea; husband, Newell Hurd; son, David R. Hurd; and brother, Harold Rea. Survived by daughter-in-law, Sharon Hurd and two grandchildren, Adam and Barbara Hurd, all of Rocky River, OH.

Mable Sue Mack
Mable Sue Mack, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2001. She was born April 8, 1921 in Front Royal, VA. She worked as a Nursing Assistant for Dr. Walker, also worked at the Canton Urban League, retired as Chapter Correspondent of the American Red Cross in Canton. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Broy, husband, Guy Andrew Mack Sr., sister, Roberta Garner, brothers, Earnest Broy, George L. Broy, James E. Broy and Robert Dearing. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, member of the Northeast Needle Craft Club, member of the Urban League. She graduated from Canton McKinley High School, and was in the National Honor Society, attended Wilberforce College. Mable leave to cherish her precious memories, sons, Guy A. Mack Jr. (Kisha Moore), Garth (Edna) Mack, Garland (Joan) Mack; sisters, Mary Frances Robinson, Jean (Jack Big Red) Mayle; grandchildren, Michelle Kay Mack, Garland E. Mack Jr., Lori Keller, Nathan Mathew Mack, Guy Andrew Mack III; great-granddaughter, Adrianna Mack, brother-in-law/sisters-in-law, Charles (Juanita) Mack, Nan Clark, Helen Mack, special friend, Mrs. Arlene Vaughn and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1800 East Tuscarawas St. Canton, OH. 44707. Pastor Robert Dye, officiating. Mary C. Moser
Mary C. Moser, age 82, of North Canton died Wednesday in her home. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Jan Moser of Southfield, MI, and William and Lenna Moser, and Richard Moser both of North Canton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and sister, Eileen Sankey of Alliance. Preceded in death by husband, Herman Moser in 1993 and brother, William Casey in 1992. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Karlo Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church, 241 S. Main St., North Canton, Oh 44720.

Nadine L. Lehmer
Nadine L. (Clark) Lehmer, age 40, of North Canton died Friday in Aultman Hospital. She was a 1978 graduate of Hoover High School and owner /operator of Classic Drive Thru in Canton. Survived by husband of six years, Thomas Lehmer; parents, William and Jeanette (Kaspar) Clark of North Canton; son, Corey; daughters, Ashley and Kaitlin, all at home; paternal grandmother, Margaret Clark of Lakewood; sister, Lorraine Clark of Massillon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Neal and Kelly Clark of Columbus, Eric and Becky Clark of Canton; sister, Dana Clark of Tampa, FL; several uncles; aunts; nieces; and nephews. Preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Albert Clark; and maternal grandparents, George and Lillian Kaspar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Rudjak officiating. Burial will be in Sunset hills Burial Park. Philip Iffland
Philip Iffland, age 83, was born April 11, 1917 and died March 3, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. (Adam) Iffland. Survived by son, Dr. Philip H.; wife, Karyn; and grandsons, Philip and William of Canton, OH; and son, Henry; wife, Beverly of Cleveland, OH. Mr. Iffland was a recipient of the Bronze Star of heroic service in World War II and an Akron area jeweler for over 50 years. Memorial services were private at Mr. Iffland's request. The family asks that donations be made to the Veterans Administration for the exclusive benefit of hospitalized veterans at the following address: Veteran's Administation Medical Center, 10000 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141, Attn: 135 (B), in memory of Philip Iffland, Dental Clinic Services, Wade Park.

Richard D. Spencer
Richard D. Spencer, 37, died unexpectedly at home. Born June 27, 1963, he is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Earl Clevinger of North Canton; his father, and stepmother, William D. Dewey and Jan Spencer of North Canton; three loving children, Stephanie, Nicholas and Samatha, whom he loved with all of his heart; brothers, Jeff and wife, Andrea Spencer of Florida and Tony Spencer of Canton. Also surviving are two uncles, John Dilley of New Jersey and Richard Spencer of Canton; two close and very dear friends, Kurt Schmitt and Mike Eddy. Services will be held at Karlo Sons Funeral Home Tuesday at 7 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Rick B. Reed
Rick B. Reed, age 50 of Canton died Monday March 19, 2001 in Morgan City, LA. He was born April 15, 1950 in Canton. Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his father, Donald Reed. Survivors include four daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Clemens of Massillon, Brandy Matthew Schneider, Erica Reed, Miranda Reed, and his former wife and friend, Cheri Reed all of Canton. There are two grandchildren, James Freetage and Daylin Daniels, his mother, Louise Reed of North Canton and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Michael Lones of North Canton, Nancy and Joseph Suarez of Massillon, Linda and Gary Rackley of Georgia and Denise Reed of Canton. There are several nieces and nephews also surviving. Private services will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to assist with final expenses.

Robert Patrick Anthony. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Calling hours at the funeral home Sunday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.

Vernon J. Hess
Vernon J. Hess, age 73, of Louisville, died peacefully Friday evening in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sunbury, OH Mr. Hess had resided here most of his life. An Army Veteran of WWII he had been a structural steel worker with Local 550, and retired from the R.G. Smith Company in 1984. A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Hess of the residence. Son and daughter-in-law, Craig Theresa Hess of N. Canton. Daughter and son-in-law, Cristi Mark Elmerick of Canton; three granddaughters, Kelli Elmerick, Katie Jennifer Hess. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley D. Wallace officiating. A private entombment will be in North Lawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends following the service in the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 1330 Mercy Dr. NW, Canton, OH 44708 or to St. Paul's United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 2705 6th St., SW, Canton, OH 44710. The Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Goodwin
William Goodwin, age 78, of Canton passed away Friday, March 23, 2001, in Aultman Hospital. Born in West Virginia he was the son of the Clarence and Minnie Goodwin and served with the U.S. Army Air Force in Word War II. Moving to Canton in 1951, he lived in the Canton area most of his life. Preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, who passed away December 20, 1999. He is survived by three sons, William, Chuck and Richard, all of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Betty) Faught of Massillon, Mrs. William (Carol) Sanford of Beloit; eighteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Earl B. Jack Funeral Home. Burial in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
