Angelo C. Stefanick, age 90, of Rolling Acres Drive in DeLand, Florida, died March 26, 2001. Born in Australia; he moved to Florida from Canton, OH, in 1979. He retired in 1970 after 40 years as a Foreman for Republic Steel in Canton. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Survived by his wife of six years, Josephine Stefanick; son, James Stefanick of Brunsville, NC; daughters, Donna J. Lama of DeLand, FL., Mary A. Huff of Tualatin, OR; brother, John Beletic of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Mildred Pero of E. Canton, Virginia Haren of Lewisville, OH, Mary St. John of Canton, OH; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. The Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, DeLand, FL., is in charge of arrangements.

Carol Ann Kosunick - Scott - Walker, tragically taken too soon will spend eternity in heaven with angels, watching over us. David Adams
David Adams, age 60, of Naples, FL., died Monday, March 26, 2001. Mr. Adams had lived in Canton, OH for many years before moving to Naples, FL. He had retired as Executive Director for the Canton YMCA after 33 years. He was a member of the Canton Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Agape Food Ministry, Taught Celebration of Marriage with his wife Judy at First Friends, and worked with the United Way of Central Stark County. He then served as a missionary with OMS International serving in Hong Kong, Macau, and Equador. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Humes) Adams; mother, Marjorie Adams; four children, Michelle Uptegrove, Jeffrey Adams, Lisa Miller and Heather Ritzert; brother, Dale Adams; sister, Beth Rinehart; and eight grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 22, 2001, at 4 p.m. at First Friends Church, Canton, OH. Donations are suggested to the YMCA of Central Stark County in memory of David Adams, for Christian Leadership of Children and Youth, 405 - 2nd St. NW, Canton, OH 44702. Elaine Natale
Elaine Natale, age 71, of Canton passed away Monday in Aultman Hospital after a short illness. Born in Toledo, OH, she has been a resident of Canton, OH, since 1941 and was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Natale, Jr., April 1973. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jerrie Natale of Canton; her daughter, Karen Natale of Akron, OH; four grandchildren, Dennis II, Angela, Frank, Philip; and one great-grandson, Xavier. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Eleanor J. Stickle
Eleanor Jean Stickle, age 77, of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning at her residence after a valiant fight with a lingering illness. Born Feb. 1, 1924, in Smithfield, OH, to the late Wiley David and Jessie Elizabeth (Shane) Graham, she had lived in our area most of her life. For many years she did volunteer work for Aultman Hospital and was a member of the Louisville Eagles #2374. Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R., who died July 7, 1989; a daughter, Laura Waller; a son, Willard Moore; a grandson, Gordon Stickle. Survived by two daughters, Bonnie J. Martin of Richville and Gloria Jean Geopfert of Canton; stepdaughter, Marian Gudat of Letonia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Francesco Porco
Francesco Porco, age 99, of Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning just two months shy of his 100th birthday. Born in Belmonte Calabria, Italy, he came to this country at the age of 18. He went back to Italy to marry his devoted wife of 75 years, Innocenza (Ianni) Porco. Returning in 1938, he has been a Canton resident since then. A member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, he retired from Canton Drop Forge after 30 years of service. Mr. Porco was an Army veteran and had worked for the Canton City School Patrol for 20 years. He was an outdoors man who loved and enjoyed his garden. Preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Maria Porco; sister, Antonia; brothers, Antonio, Guiseppe, and Giovanni. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Pasquale Pat and Theresa Porco; daughter and son-in-law, Maria Mary and Anthony Alessandro, all of Canton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Porco's name can be made to St. Anthony Church.
Jean M. Cole
Jean M. Cole, age 80, of Canton, passed away Monday, March 26, 2001 in the Hennis Care Center, Bolivar, OH, following a brief illness. Born in Canton, OH, May 17, 1920, she had attended First Friends Church. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Cole, September 24, 1996; and her son, Larry Cole in 1998. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Stan Yanuck of Navarre, OH; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Darlene Nicholson of Canton, Dale and Cindy Nicholson of Louisville, Robert and Linda Cole of Canton, Randy and Cynthia Cole of Canton; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. James Scalf officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. At the request of the family, her body will be cremated following the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.

Jenny Gomes Goncalves, passed away on March 24, 2001. She became a member of Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Pastor Lee Nucklos. She also attended services at Trinity Gospel Temple under Pastor Dave Lombardi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C. where Pastor Cecil Everett will be officiating. John J. Pavelko, Sr.
John J. Pavelko, Sr., age 78, of Akron, formerly residing in Canton, passed away Monday afternoon in Akron City Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, residing for 52 years in Canton before moving to Akron in 1996. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was a retired employee of Timken Co., employed there for 31 years as a pipefitter. He served with the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Pavelko in 1988; his parents, Andrew and Meri Pavelko; a brother, Andrew Pavelko. Survived by two sons, Mark Pavelko of Massillon and John Pavelko II of Canton; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and William Ronske of Massillon; one sister, Mary Alberico of Bridgeport, CT; five grandchildren, Lori Hane, Jaime and Janson Ronske, Erin and Megan Pavelko. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Timothy Huffman as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The procession will form at the church on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joe's Church or to the wishes of the family.

Joyce F. Russell, passed away October 29, 2000. Born February 2, 1942. She was formerly employed at A Child's Place. Survived by husband, to whom she was married 39 years, Robert B. Russell of Spring Hill, FL; three children, Richard G. Russell of Massillon, Kathleen A. Weary of Canton, Jennifer L. Casto of IL; seven grandchildren; mother, Orene Scott of Vermilion, OH; two brothers, Loyal V. Scott of North Canton, Rolland Scott of Vermilion, OH. Calling hours Saturday March 31st, 2001 at 10-12 Noon at Dueber Ave Methodist Church 7th Dueber with church services at 12 Noon. Madonna Johanning
Madonna A. (Risher) Johanning, age 95, of N. Canton, passed away from this life on March 26, 2001. She was a woman of quiet dignity, simple pleasures and deep devotion to God and family. Madonna was born in 1905 in Homestead, PA, but spent most of her life in Canton. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton and the Altar and Rosary Society. Madonna taught everyone in her family about God, not by words alone but my how she lived-simply, generously-always thankful for family and friends, her blessings. She was noted for her chocolate cakes with pink icing, blueberry pies and gentle nature. She will be long remembered for her ability to make everyone feel so special. Madonna passed peacefully at home with her small wooden cross in hand. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Red; son, Richard Jack; sisters, Gertrude Leyman and Margaret Reed; brother, John Risher; and grandson, John Carroll. Among those surviving her death are daughters, Lavonne Johanning of N. Canton and Anne Carroll of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Johanning of Sarasota, FL; daughter-in-law, Cathy Johanning of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Inez Risher of Arlington, TX; sister-in-law, Ellen Risher of Tallahassee, FL; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. Nicholas Mancini as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Margie E. Cain
Margie E. Cain, age 86, of North Canton, passed away suddenly Monday evening in her residence. She was born in Roane County, WV, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Laura McCoy Fields, and had been a resident of the Canton area since 1952. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cecil Cain on November 9, 1989. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Richard Dugan of North Canton, and Mary and Darl Travis of Canton; four grandchildren, Joy Travis, Wesley Travis, Laura Dugan, and Rick Dugan and his wife, Ann; one great-grandson, Seth Alan Dugan; and one sister, Mrs. Ercil (Hettie) Bailey of Spencer, WV. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Ann A. Murphy officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Marie A. Hayman, age 54, of 3041 Camille Road SW, Sherrodsville, OH., went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, March 27, 2001, in her residence following a long illness. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband Jerry, in the operation of the Dellroy Market where she was Secretary/Treasurer. She was born May 11, 1946, in Salem, OH., and was raised in New Garden, OH., and was the daughter of Elsie Hoopes Gamble of Hanoverton, OH., and the late Alfred Gamble. Marie attended the Christ Community Church at Dellroy. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Hayman, whom she married July 3, 1965; one daughter and two sons, Jill Schaar of Sherrodsville, Eric (Samantha) Hayman of Dover, and Aaron Hayman of Columbus; one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Joyce Wharton of Damascus, OH., Jay (Judy) Gamble of Winona, OH., and Wayne (Karen) Gamble of Hanoverton; two grandchildren, Drew and Olivia Schaar of Sherrodsville; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Hayman Kidder of Minerva; and several nieces and nephews who were very special to her. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Wendy Dean-Hayman who was killed March 31 , 2000. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001, in the New Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Bartolet officiating. Interment will be in the Damascus Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Church. A memorial service for her Dellroy area friends will be held at a later date. Opal V. Amos, age 91, of Canton, OH, went home to be with the Lord, passing away Monday evening in the White Oak Convalescent Home following a brief illness. Born in Harrisville, WV, on October 17, 1909, she was a former buyer-clerk having worked for Zwick's Clothing at Canton Centre. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple and the Jolly Sixties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Dale Amos who passed away December 21, 1982 and also by a daughter, Carolyn Yvonne VanSetters and a brother, Ray Simmons. Survivors include her daughter, Anah Ehret of Canton and her son, Clifford Amos of Fayetteville, GA; three sisters, Gertrude Elder of Elyria, OH, Freda Hardman of Winter Haven, FL and Edith Maness of Morehead City, NC; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Robert Griffin, Jr., passed away Sunday March 25, 2001, following an extended illness. Born in Beaver Falls, PA. Junior grew up in the Malvern, Aultman, Waynesburg, and Canton area. Then moved to Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Griffin, Sr. and Laura Griffin; his wife, Molly Griffin; brother, John; sisters, Janice, Mary Lou and Arvenia. He is survived by sons, Mark and Britton; daughters, Robbie, Sandy and Tippy all of Chicago; five sisters, Aileene Henderson, Myrtle Wilcox of E. Ruth I. Ingold, a resident of The Canton Regency, died at Aultman Hospital March 24, 2001. Born in Follansbee, WV to Mildred and William Raithel on June 16, 1913. A member of First Christian Church, she was baptized on April 6, 1924 by P.H. Welschimer. Survived by her husband, Donald B. Ingold, whom she married on August 23, 1937; daughter, Wilma Jean Wheeler of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughters, Deborah Jones and Karen Smith; grandson, Jeffrey Wheeler; five great grandchildren; a dear cousin, Lois Snyder of Canton. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Hill Cemetery where her cremated remains will be buried. Manley C. Pierce will officiate. The family suggests memorials be made to the children's ministry of First Christian Church of Canton.
