Angelo John Davis, age 35, of Wilmot, OH., formerly of Canton passed away early Thursday morning from injury received in an auto accident. A full obit will be published in Saturday paper. The Rossi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daniel Jindra
Daniel Jindra, age 76 of North Canton, passed away Thursday, March 29 in the comfort of his home, surrounded, as he wished, by his loving family and friends. Dan was born March 27, 1925, the son of the late Thomas and Julia Jindra. He retired from the Ford Motor Co., where he was a tool and die repairman, retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy. Dan enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid horseshoe pitcher. He was a member of the Newton Falls Horseshoe Club and also pitched shoes in the Senior Olympics representing Ohio nationwide. He was a member of the Bethel Temple Assemblies of God Church and was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia and Henrietta and three brothers, Thomas, Theodore and Richard. He is survived and leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Hazel (Carder) Jindra whom he married on February 11, 1950; his daughter, Peggy Reno of North Canton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Donna Jindra of Georgetown, KY, Randall and Vickie Jindra of Warren, OH, Henry and Laura Jindra of Massillon, OH; two brothers, William Jindra of Brunswick, OH and Albert Jindra of Paramount, CA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Bethel Temple at 711 25th St. NW, Canton with Rev. James R. Arnold officiating. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Friday (tonight) 5-8 p.m. and one hour before the services at the church on Saturday 12:30-1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Temple Youth Ministry.

Earl L. Russell
Earl L. Russell, age 77, of Louisville, formerly of Cambridge, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in Byesville, OH, May 10, 1923 to the late Albert and Olive (Knight) Russell. He was a World War II Army veteran and was retired from McCurdy, Inc. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Russell and two sisters, Helen Allbritain and Roberta Morris. He is survived by his wife, Althea; a daughter, Janet Russell of Canton; a son, Jonathan Russell and his fiancee, Margie of Louisville; two sisters, Mary Frakes and Doris Haines, both of Canton; a granddaughter, Autumn Russell of Louisville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Sunset Hills Burial Park with Pastor Bonnie Gerber officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville, OH is in charge of arrangements.

Francisca M. (Vitale) Barbera, age 89, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening in her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was a life resident of Canton. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cono Barbera who passed away on Oct. 11, 1979; her parents, Leon and Francisca (Pidala) Vitale; two brothers, Joseph and Leo Vitale; four sisters, Rose Vitale, Jennie Norcia, Mary Marsh and Victoria Vitale; two son-in-laws, Harold Mayle and Daniel Johnson. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Carol Barbera of Southern Pines, NC, Leo and Farley Barbera of Southern Pines, NC, Jim and Fran Barbera of Canton with whom she made her home; three daughters and son-in-law, Cona Mayle of Canton, Fran and Walt Regiec of Canton, Jo Johnson of North Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Cleo Vitale of Canton, Anthony and Jeanette Vitale of Canton; two sisters and brother-in-law, Josephine Dicola of Canton, Clara and Sam Purses of Canton; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church with Rev. Fr. John Zuzik and Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Joyce F. Russell, passed away October 29, 2000. Born February 2, 1942. She was formerly employed at A Child's Place. Survived by husband, to whom she was married 39 years, Robert B. Russell of Spring Hill, FL; three children, Richard G. Russell of Massillon, Kathleen A. Weary of Canton, Jennifer L. Casto of IL; seven grandchildren; mother, Orene Scott of Vermilion, OH; two brothers, Loyal V. Scott of North Canton, Rolland Scott of Vermilion, OH. Calling hours Saturday March 31st, 2001 at 10-12 Noon at Dueber Ave Methodist Church 7th Dueber with church services at 12 Noon. Katherine E. Porter, age 78, of Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. and May A. Brown Booth. She was a 1941 graduate of St. John High School in Canton, and Canton Actual Business College. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marion Booth, Harold Booth, Cy Booth, Bernard Booth, David Booth, William Booth and sister, Martha Dervin. Survivors include her sons, Larry W. Porter and Betty Campbell of Louisville, and William J. Porter of Lake Milton, OH; daughters, Rachel L. Porter of Massillon and Kathy E. (Rick) Mc-Bride of Canton; brother, John J. Booth of Canton; grandchildren, Andy and Jeremy Porter. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Fr. Madeline M. Stump
Madeline M. Stump, age 76, of Louisville, formerly of Homeworth, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in the Green Meadows Care Center following an extended illness. Madeline was born January 24, 1925 in Louisville, the daughter of the late George and Melinda (Brookover) Sickles. She was a former machine operator for Ohio Tool and Drill for nearly 20 years. Madeline leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Rick Soles of Conway, SC; a son, Terry Stump of Beloit; two sisters, Helen Haas of Louisville and Coleen Spear of Port Richey, FL; a brother, George Sickles of Louisville; six gra-ndchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Stump, who passed away January 31, 1985; sister, Medge Brower; a brother, Al Sickles. A memorial service for Madeline will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville, with Rev. Charles Graham of Fairhope United Methodist Church officiating.
Mary Alice Sibert
Mary Alice Sibert, age 75, of Green, passed away March 27, 2001. Born in East Liberty, she was a homemaker and an area resident all of her life. Mary Alice is survived by her husband of 53 years, James; daughter, Carol (Sam) Pitts of Louisville; son, Randall (Joy) Sibert of Texas; sister, Viola Calderwood; brother, William Tritt; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Rogers officiating. Burial at East Liberty Cemetery.
Mary C. Marie Elder
Mary C. Marie (Jenkins) Elder, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2001. She was born on April 5, 1940 in Pulaski, TN. At the age of 12, Mary and her parents moved to Canton, OH, where she attended school. A graduate of McKinley High School, she went on to the University of Michigan where she earned a B.A. and M.A. Degree in Education. Mary was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents; her father, The Rev. Noble C. Jenkins; a brother, Soloman Jenkins. She was devoted to Christ and her church, Second Baptist Church of Columbus, OH, for a number of years. She returned to Canton and reunited with Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church, where she continued to do the Lord's work, teaching the Adult Sunday School Class, and loving to work outside, beautifying the church grounds, and being involved in all church activities. Her motto was I'm going to work until the day is done. She leaves to celebrate her homecoming, her children, Paque, Noble and Thayme Elder; mother, Marie Worthy; grandchildren, Tjai Elder, Dominique Elder; two brothers, William A. (Frances) Jenkins, W. L. (Mary) Marks of Flint, MI; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Skylar) Jenkins of Cleveland, OH, Virginia Holt of Detroit, MI; devoted aunt, Jean Oglesby of Dayton, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 11 a.m. in Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church, 1000 3rd St. NE, Canton, OH 44704 with Rev. Harold Hopkins officiating. Mary M. Rasor
Mary Margaret Rasor, age 89, of Massillon, OH, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. Born January 11, 1912 in Canton, OH, and resided most of his life in Massillon. Mary was a retired manager of the former Ohio State Employment Service Office in Massillon. She was a 1930 graduate of Washington High School, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Jestine M. (Geary) Rasor; sister, Bessie M. Rasor; and brothers, Charles P., James A., Carl, and Edward W. Rasor. Survived by a niece, LaVerne Buesch of Brecksville, OH. Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity. Myrtle E. Bowman
Myrtle E. Bowman, 94, of Massillon, died Monday March 26, 2001 at Altercare of Louisville following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 14, 1906 in Navarre, Ohio and was daughter of the late Xavier and Ida (Girt) Airhart. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Massillon, enjoyed reading, and was an avid card player. She worked as a sales clerk at Davis Paint and the former Seikel Paint Store on Erie St. and volunteered at St. Joseph's School Cafeteria. She is survived by son, Joel Bowman of Massillon, Daughter and son in law Janet Edward Donovan of Louisville, OH. brother, Vincent (Nip) Airhart of Navarre, sister, Irene Henderson of Hope, MI. five grandchildren and their spouses, Valli VanHoose of North Canton, Duffy J. Mary Donovan of Cleveland, Kelleen Jeff Sankbeil of Louisville, Polly Mark Topp of Courtland, OH. and Molly and Mark Rinehart of Canton, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clark Bowman (Died 1975) who was a former police officer in Massillon, brothers, Charles, Earl, Dean, Clifford, and Wilson Airhart, sisters, Eleanor Glutting, Ethel Bowers, Viola Noftsinger Maxwell, and Cecelia Airhart. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 2, 2001 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Massillon, with Rev. Raymond Paul officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. He was a blue paint foreman for Macomber Steel in Canton for 24 years. Self employed with H H Timber of Dale for two years at Mountain State College, Parkersburg, WV. Army veteran of World War II. Member of Beverly American Legion.
