Amanda G. Basso
Amanda G. (Gonzalez) Basso, age 76 of North Canton, passed away Thursday March 29, after an extended illness. Born in Clarksburg, WV., she lived most of her life in the Canton and North Canton areas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Frances Gonzalez; husband, Daniel Basso in 1997; son, Dennis Daniel Basso in 1992; brothers, Pete and Michael Gonzalez. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doretta and John Bruno of Farmington, CT; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Lori Basso of Jackson Twp; grandchildren, Dori and Seth Bruno, Jason, Anthony and Jonathan Basso; sisters, Mrs. Celia Bagueros of Akron. Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the ROSSI FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Basso's name to a charity of your choice.
Arnold H. Crandall
Arnold H. Crandall, age 68, of North Canton, died Tuesday in Doctor's Hospital. He was employed by the Canton Water Department, and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survived by wife of 47 years, Donna (Lutz) Crandall of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kenny Gray of Louisville; three grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon, and Andrew; brothers and sister-in-law, Bruce and Elaine Crandall of Louisville and Don Crandall of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Birgit Crandall; and sister, Lenore Crandall. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd., NW with Rev. Larry Brewer officiating. Barbara A. Haubert
Barbara Ann (Fowler) Haubert, age 64 of Canton died Tuesday afternoon in the home following a brief illness. Born January 7, 1937 in Orrville, OH. She was a member of Greenwood Christian Church and was retired from Best Products on 1997 after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by her mother, Rose M. Wilson, step-father, Fred Wilson and grandson, Heath Schaefer. Survivors include her husband, C. Richard Haubert of the home with whom she celebrated 11 years of marriage in July, 2000; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sharon Fowler of Canton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Glenn Davis of Dublin, OH, Cindie Dennison and Cheri and Michael Dawson all of Canton; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Nancy Fowler of Raleigh, NC; three step-daughters and sons-in-law, Aye and Ken Millard of Uniontown, OH, Sharon and Jeff Schaefer of Minerva, OH and Troynette and Bill Myers of Canton. There are 13 grandchildren; her father, Louis A. Bendure and grandmother, Goldie Bendure both of Bernard, KS; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Jim Carney of Orrville, OH, Jackie and Raymond Foster of Xenia, OH; one step-sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Ned Lutz of Coshocton, OH and one brother-in-law, Dale (Mary Lu) Haubert of East Canton and numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Amerine officiating. Burial will be Liberty Cemetery, Paris Twp., OH. Birdeene E. Glenn
Birdeene E. Glenn, age 91, of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning, April 3, 2001 in Rose Lane Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH, January 13, 1910 to her parents the late Herman and late Herman and Armentia (White) Porter, she was a retired employee of Buckeye Sports Supply, retiring after 16 years of service. Mrs. Glen was a member of Cathedral of Life. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Glenn, December 29, 1991. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen P. and Gail Glenn of Wooster, OH; two grandchildren, Tina Valliere of Charlotte, NC, and Stephen M. Glenn of Canton; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. C. Herschel Gammill officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Bonnie J. Norris
Bonnie J. Norris, age 71, of Canton passed away Sunday afternoon, April 1, 2001 in Massillon Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Ohio, October 26, 1929 to her parents the late Henry and Elizabeth Romick, she lived most of her life in the Massillon area and was a former employee of Posture Products and W.L. Jenkins Co. Mrs. Norris was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church, Autumn Leaves and Massillon Women's Club. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ray Norris, September 21, 1998. Survivors include her son, Carey Norris of Hinckley, OH; three granddaughters, Audrey, Hilary and Emily; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ford, Rose Mae and Andrew Paflas, Eileen and Denny Conger; three nieces, Sandi Shaw, Debbie Doll and Pam Francis; two nephews, Dennis Ford and Timothy Doll. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday 11:00 a.m. in Reedurban Presbyterian Church, 1145 Perry Drive NW, Canton, with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. There will be no calling hours. At the request of the family her body has been cremated and will buried in North Lawn Cemetery. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles G. Risher, age 56, of East Sparta died Tuesday morning April 3, 2001 in Arbors of Canton following an extended illness. Born September 13, 1944 in Canton to the late Charles L. and Nelda Risher. He was a member of Cathedral of Life Church, was a former employee of Conrail with over 30 years of service and was a member of Sandy Valley Eagles. Survivors include his wife, Dora of the home; one daughter, Brenda Risher of North Carolina; and one son, Charles E. Risher of Canton; one granddaughter, Kylie Risher of North Carolina; his step-children, Wayne, Blane, Stacey and Nick; his step-grandchildren, Ashley, Roy, Brandon, Joshua and Nick, Jr.; his brothers and sister-in-law, William and Sherry Risher and Larry Risher all of Canton; and his step-father, Chuck Johnson of East Sparta; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Bishop C. Herschel Gammill officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Ethel Marie (Yonally) Wilson, age 76, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 2, 2001, in the Emergency Room at Aultman Hospital. Born at Wells, KS, she was a retired bookkeeper at Canton Electronic Center and most recently Sandy's Landscaping. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Wilson, in 2000; parents, James and Alice Yonally; two brothers, Art and Tom Yonally; three sisters, Viola Luther, Myrtle Hanes and Lola Bartlett. Survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Dennis Smith of Virginia, Nila Stillion of Massillon; a son and daughter-in-law, Renald and Michelle Wilson of North Canton; five grandchildren, Linsey Wells, Ryan McMasters, Stephanie Stillion, Justin Wilson and Mackenzie Wilson; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Wells; a brother, Roy Yonally of Kansas; also numerous nieces and nephews. Gary E. Rogers, Jr.
Gary E. Rogers, Jr., age 31 of Magnolia, passed away Saturday in his residence. He was born in Dover and had been a life resident of the Magnolia area. He was a graduate of Sandy Valley High School and was an employee of Don Ross Motors in Canton, where he was a maintenance worker and cleaned cars. He had attended the Sandy Valley Church of God. Preceded in death by his father, Gary E. Rogers, Sr., on April 12, 1997. Survived by his mother, Nancy Rogers, with whom he resided; one daughter, Samantha Sanders, of Woodland, PA; and a half-sister, Renee Rogers, of Canton. Service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Clifford Hughes officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Glenn Griffin Cross
Glenn Griffin Cross, age 77, of North Canton, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2001 from injuries received in an aviation accident at the Marco Island, Florida Airport. Born in Carrollton, OH, Nov. 13, 1923 to the late Emerson and Myrta Griffin Cross. Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Cross, in 1954. Glenn served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and graduated from Ohio University in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Industrial Engineering. He established Cross Truck Equipment Co. in 1962 and was president at the time of his death. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Aerostar Owners Association, Quiet Birdman, Tadmor Temple, Lathrop Lodge, Akron City Club. Brookside Country Club and the North Canton Elks. He currently held a Commercial Pilots Certificate with Instructor and Instrument Instruction Ratings. Glenn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lucille Bamberger Cross and children, Thomas and Barbara Cross Petry, Sr. of Marco Island, FL, James and Cynthia Grosenbaugh Cross of Columbus, OH, John and Julie Mathie Cross of Canton, OH, William Cross of Massillon, OH, Thomas Cross of Pickerington, OH; grandchildren, Thomas Petry, Jr., Trisha, Gavin, Wesley, Sarah, Cameron, Peter, Robert, Ashley and Kevin Cross; aunts, Erma Stevens and Olive Rinehart of Carrollton, OH. John Andrews, age 83, of Canton, passed away at home after a brief illness. He was born in Canton and graduated from McKinley High School and Kent State University. John was retired from U.P.S. and was a member of the YMCA for many years. He was active in politics and was elected two terms for Canton City Council and one term for State Representative. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Evanthia Andrews; one brother, Anthony Andrews. Survivors include his wife, Esther of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Melinda Andrews; a daughter, Cheyene; three grandchildren, Lucy, Paige and Austin Andrews; two sisters, Pauline Gallus, Tula Skendelas; brother, Harry Andrews; his mother-in-law, Julia Biscocho; brothers and sister-in-law, Martin and Auring Biscocho and family, Andres and Patsy Biscocho and children, Roger Biscocho, Lita B. She was a member of Crystal Park United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, William to whom she was married forty years; her parents, Howard and Blanche Dyson; a grandson. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Guist; son, William, both of Canton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Earl B. Jack Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Murphy officiating. Friends may call 12-1 p.m. Her wishes were to be cremated. Her favorite charity was the Crystal Park United Methodist Church.
