Dewey H. Moomaw
Dewey H. Moomaw, 91, of Sugarcreek, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home at Walnut Creek. He was born July 15, 1909 in Tuscarawas County, to the late George and Minnie Amacher Moomaw. He was Vice-President of Shepfer-Moomaw Bros. Brick Plant in Sugarcreek, a member of the Shanesville Lutheran Church and a former member of the Church Dart Ball Team. He was a charter member of the Sugarcreek Lions Club and was a past Director of the former Reeves Banking and Trust. He is preceded by his wife, Irene Deetz Moomaw ; his sister, Helen Widder. He is Uncle to Brooks (Cathy) Widder of Frederick, Maryland, Mrs. Don (Marcia) Weber of Dover, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Ladrach. Services will be Monday, April 9, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Calling hours are Monday 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Dora L. Eynon
Dora L. Eynon, age 77, of Canton, OH., died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in Aultman Hospital. Born July 14, 1923, in Cambridge, OH., to her parents the late, Mack and Blanche (Moorehead) Patterson. She was an employee of the Bureau of Unemployment Services, Guernsey County, Civil Service/Head of Selective Service, Davis Dept. Store and Miller Jones Shoe Store. Former Kappa Delta Phi; and a graduate of Cambridge Business College; a Navy Veteran of World War II. Survived by husband, Fred L. Eynon of Canton, whom she married May 5, 1962; daughter, Terry Evans Valentine of Bakersfield, CA.; one granddaughter, Amy Maria Valentine McMichael of Largo, FL; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Edward McMichael and Rachel Marie McMichael both of Largo, FL. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Milford Patterson and Robert Patterson. Funeral services will be held in the Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, OH., Monday at 1:30 p.m. Viewing Monday one hour prior to services from 12:30-1:30 p.m., in the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, OH.
Judith Cornelius
Judith Cornelius, 63, of Seeman Dr. Carrollton, died Friday morning April 5, 2001 in her home after an extended illness. She was born February 9, 1938 in Akron daughter of the late Emery C. and Edith Costion Cornelius. Judith had resided in Canton prior to moving to Carrollton in 1991. She is survived by three sisters, Marie Tarlowski of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Butler of Carrollton, Mrs. Jess (Constance) Pulliam of Scottsdale, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Sunset Hills Memorial Garden in North Canton with Rev. Darrell Doerschak officiating. There are no calling hours. The Sweeney Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.
Judy A. Kettering
Judy A. Kettering, age 58, of Malvern, OH, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 following an 11 month illness. She was born Oct. 16, 1942 in Lumberport, WV to Luther and Mary (Dodd) Arnett. She was a housewife, member of Baxter Ridge United Methodist Church, a 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, and gave her service to the Lord for over 20 years having worked as staff and in the kitchen at Hollow Rock Holiness Camp to Toronto and Avon Park Holiness Camp in Florida. Survived by husband, Charles Kettering whom she married March 22, 1963; four daughters, Mrs. Ron (Machele) Eick of Malvern, Mrs. James (Lynda) Shalosky of Dover, Mrs. Charles (Roberta) Hendershot of Columbus, Mrs. Scott (Kristen) Lane of Malvern; five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Edith) Alverez of Langloth, PA, Almeda Goodson of Canton, Lucille Payton of Stonewood, WV, Cora Jean Loria of Clarksburg, WV, Mrs. Bob (Glen Dean) Blair of Blacksville, WV; a brother, Victor Arnett of Bridgeport, WV; ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Arnett; a brother, LeRoy Arnett. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Baxter Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Melvin Truex officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 2-5 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Kenneth E. Dinger
Kenneth E. Dinger, age 71, of Canton, died Thursday April 5, 2001 in the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He had been visiting relatives and had a massive heart attack. He was born July 7, 1929 in Annapolis, OH, son of the late, Roy and Lucy Dinger. Kenneth attended the First Assembly of God at Louisville, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a 20 year employee of Akro Rubber at Canton until his retirement in 1996. He is survived by his wife the former Betty Castle whom he married September 23, 1998; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Dor-othy Dinger of Clinton, OH, David and Barb Shotwell of Carrollton, Chuck Shotwell of Texas, Rick and Crystal Lambert of Carrollton; six daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty Jo and Tom Hawkins of Dellroy, Dorothy and Larry Campbell of Minerva, Sandra Shotwell of Carrollton, Carla Greco of Canton, Judy Van Hoose of Jacksonville, FL, Carol Chipman of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, Donald Dinger of Willoughby, Harold Dinger of Minerva, Doyle Dinger of Amsterdam, Dean Dinger of Minerva, Ronnie Dinger of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Thelma Dinger of Minerva, Helen Cheuvront of Wattsville, OH; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Goodyear Dinger on March 2, 1996; three brothers, John, Leroy, William and two sisters, Ethel Caldwell and Evelyn Dinger. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home on Carrollton with Pastor Dan Deam officiating. Burial in Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Lucille Blanche Masters
Lucille Blanche Masters, age 84, of North Canton, OH., passed away Friday morning, April 6, 2001 in Aultman Hospital following a valiant fight with a rare brain disorder. Born in Augusta, OH., September 28, 1916 to her parents the late Harry and Blanche Tressel, she lived most of her life in the Canton area and was a 1934 graduate of McKinley High School. Mrs. Masters was a retired Manager of Nancy's Paperbacks, retiring, due to ill health, December 2000 after 12 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Masters, June 29, 1979. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Marianna Masters of North Canton, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Caroline and John Roth of Massillon, OH., Jean Marie and Timothy Matako of North Canton, OH; four grandchildren, Robin Nutter, Donna Hermann, Rick Masters II and Traci Hall. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home Sunday 3-5 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday from 10-11 a.m.

Sr. Elizabeth Joyce
Sister Elizabeth Joyce, C.D.S., member of the Sisters of the Congregation of the Divine Spirit, was born to eternal life on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the House of Loreto, 2812 Harvard Ave. NW, Canton, OH. Sister Elizabeth is survived by her religious family; one nephew, Peter Marco; and one niece, Mrs. Robert C. Baxter (Gwendolyn). She was preceded in death by her parents, Brown and Ethel Joyce and one sister, Mrs. Patricia Marco. Sister Elizabeth had 15 years experience as an underwriting assistant prior to her entrance into the community. Sister had three years in library training, six years of music. She had also been certificated and had participated in the fields of elementary and secondary Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. Sister had also been involved for many years as an L.P.N. in the care of the residents at the House of Loreto in Canton, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the House of Loreto Chapel of Our Lady of Charity. Calling hours one hour prior to the mass. Private burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Erie, PA, at the convenience of the community.
