Ben Bud Elliott Jr., age 55, of Magnolia, died Sunday morning at his home. He was born in Canton, and was retired from the Timken Co. with 36 years of service. A member of the Pleasant Valley Beagle Club where he was the 2001 Beagler of the Year. Also member of Golden Lodge the GRA. A 1963 graduate of Canton South High School. Preceded in death by his father, Ben M. Elliott. Survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and Tim Scheetz of Canton, Julie and Henry Ching of Chambersburg, PA, Sharon Elliott of Canton; a son and daughter-in-law Steven and Ann Elliott of Green; three stepsons, Daniel and his wife, Julia Chatelain of Amsterdam, Holland, Lawrence and his wife, Tonya Chatelain of Fayetteville, NC, Jon Chatelain of San Francisco, CA; nine grandchildren; his mother, Florence Elliott of Dellroy; a sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Ed Koren of Dellroy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Susan Elliot of Magnolia, Dale and Lisa Elliot of Keningston. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday 5-9 p.m.

Charles R. Pettit
Charles Richard Pettit, age 72, passed away April 21, 2001 in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1928 in Alliance to his parents, Richard Harold and Esther Julia (Gascon) Pettit. He was a graduate of Deerfield High School in 1947. He was employed as a manager of Homeworth Sales Service and electrician for Ohio Drill Tool Co. for 33 years. He has worked for E.C. Lair since his retirement. Member of Beechwood Christian Church. Also a member of Minerva Classic Travelers Antique Car Club-Served as President, Dr. Roach Outdoor League, Homeworth Masonic Lodge #499, 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple Valley of Akron, Alliance Shrine Club and Alliance Shrine Flag Unit-Served as Secretary. Survived by his wife, Reba F. (Zigler) Pettit of Alliance; one brother, George Pettit of Largo, FL; and one niece, Susan DiGiorgio of Largo, FL. Funeral services Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Shannon officiating. Calling hours Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at 7-9 p.m. at CTC. Earl Heath
Earl Heath, age 93, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord April 21, 2001. Born in Benton, KY, Earl lived most of his life in the area. He was employed with General Tire and Rubber Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1967. Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn and son, Thomas. He is survived by sons, Edward (Dorothy) of North Canton, Daniel Heath of Massillon; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Per request of the family there will be no services or visitation.

Esther T. Wadsworth
Esther T. Wadsworth, age 83, formerly of 1303-38th St. N.W., died Sunday in the Hanover House. A life resident of Canton, she was a former nurses aide at Massillon State Hospital. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, affiliated with the West Unit. Survived by a niece, Mrs. Roy (Esther Grace) Foehrenbach of Massillon; and several great nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in The Chapel at Forest Hill Cemetery with Mr. B. Daniel Koske officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Lamiell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel J. Wideman. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2001, 2-5:30 p.m., in Community Christian Church, 111 Witwer St. NE, North Canton. The funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. Rev. Dr. Donald G. Baird will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception in the church's Community Room. Those who cannot attend the visitation or service are still welcome at the reception, as Ethel would want everyone to have something to eat. A private committal will take place Wednesday in North Canton Cemetery. Joan Claire Davis, age 65, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning in her home after a brief illness. Born in Canton, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Roseina C. Donovan. In the past she was active as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, Dueber Ave. School P.T.A. and she had a passion for bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jack E. Davis; brothers, James D. Donovan, Jack L. Donovan, Fred Donovan; and sister, Eileen M. Shull. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jay H. Davis Sr. of the home; sons, Kenneth J. Davis of Ohio, Jay H. Davis Jr. of Canton, Dennis M. Davis of Canton; daughters, Jodi L. Androw of Hampton, VA, Kathi K. (Tim) Cox of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Kathleen Seery of Canton, Constance M. Fry of Las Vegas, NV, Donna J. Wright of Canton, Patricia A. Downard of Canton; grandchildren, Nicole, Kendra, Tianna, Jack, Anthony, Jay, Danielle, Erin, Tori; great-grandchildren, Ian Michael and Kaylynn Michele. Paul J. Longheier
Paul J. Longheier, age 81, of Massillon, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Massillon Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 6, 1919 in Massillon to John and Florence (Brentzel) Longheier. He was a member of St. Mary Parish of Massillon and the Knights of Columbus #554 3rd Degree. He was employed at Republic Steel Corp. as an electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1981. He was also a veteran of the Army in World War II. He is survived by wife of 51 years, Evelyn Longheier of Massillon, OH; daughter, Sister Kathryn S.N.D. of Massillon; daughters, Nancy (Michael) Rich of Huron, OH, Mary (Larry) Schoefield of Massillon, OH; a brother, John (Jack) Longheier of Massillon, OH; sisters, Rosemary Preece of Massillon, OH, Alice (Charles) Scharver of Massillon, OH; grandsons, Robert Rich of Huron, OH, Jason Rich of Huron, OH; granddaughter, Jennifer Schofield of Massillon, OH. Preceded in death by his father, John Longheier and mother, Florence (Brentzel) Longheier; first wife, Bernadine Longheier in 1948. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Apri. 25, 2001, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Parish in Massillon, OH. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Perry Twp. There will be a scriptural service during the evening hours on Tuesday and the K of C will conduct services on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert E. Holt
Robert E. Holt, born November 25, 1928, in West Virginia. He passed away unexpectedly April 18, 2001, in his home in Murray, KY. He lived most of his life in Orrville, OH, where he retired from Westinghouse. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Vesta in 1969. Survived by his wife, Anna Jo; his sons, Michael Holt (Pam) of Massillon and Ian of California and daughter, Patricia Youdoll of Florida; two grandsons, Ed Holt (Brenda) of Wooster and Bob Holt of Massillon; his brother, Charles and numerous step children and step grandchildren. Funeral services Monday (TODAY) Gresser Funeral Home, 415 North Elm St., Orrville, OH at 11 a.m. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
