Ben Eppy
Ben Eppy, 92, died April 23, 2001 after a long illness. He was born in Canton, OH in 1909 to Mina and Hyman Apstein. married for 66 1/2 years to his beloved wife, Ruth (Kobostnick) Eppy. Retired founder of Eppy's Chevrolet Inc. Survived by daughter, Judy Tekel of Plantation; son and daughter-in-law, Jearld and Judith Eppy of Boca Raton; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Daniel Sax
Daniel Sax, age 77, formerly of Canton, died Monday April 23,2001 in Cincinnati. Born August 1, 1923 in Wheeling, WV to the late Harry and Ida (Deitz) Sax. After graduating from Tridelphia High School, Mr. Sax attended the University of West Virginia, before being called into service in WWII. He served as an Army medic in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge. He moved to Canton in 1960 where he worked for many years as the office manager of Crystal Park Lumber and was a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue. Since 1986, he was a resident of Cincinnati and was active with Avon Masonic Lodge # 542 and Ohav Shalom Synagogue. Mr Sax was a 50-year member of the Osiris Shrine and Scottish Rite. Preceded in death by his wife Caroline (Weintraub) Sax in 1999, and his brothers Zelmar and Ralph. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Harry and Leslie Sax of Rochester, NY; son, Dr. Drew Sax of Boca Raton, FL; brother, Richard Sax of San Francisco, CA; and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Adam, and Rachel Sax all of Rochester. Services will be held Wednesday 1:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Interment in Canton Hebrew Cemetery. David E. Kettlewell
David E. Kettlewell, 78 of Sunbury, died Tuesday (April 10, 2001) morning at his residence. Born in Glen Dale, WV, to John H. and Olga (Daggett) Kettlewell. WWII Army veteran with the 102nd Infantry Division. Graduate of West Virginia University, degree in Chemistry in 1950. Employed with American Electric Power and subsidiary companies. Ohio Power and Appalachian Power, for 37 years, retired Manager of the Chemical Engineering Section in 1988. Member of the Edison Electric Institute, American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers and American Society of Testing Materials. A member of Ohio No. 1 Masonic Lodge of Wheeling and Condit Presbyterian Church. Survived by wife, Marilyn J. (Ake) Kettlewell; son, David Kettlewell; daughter, Ann (Richard) Border; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Olga E. (Paul) Selan, Alice B. Gooldin, Jacqueline (Dan) Logan, Neltie L. (Jack) Landers, Joan (Gene) Gray. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Condit Presbyterian Church, Sunbury, OH, Rev. Esther Weatherspoon
Esther Weatherspoon, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 18, 2001, after a long illmess. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late, Carrie M. (Harvey) Williams and Felix A. Williams. She was survived by sister-in-law, Virginia Williams; nephews, Eugene Williams and Nathaniel Williams; nieces, Yvonne Gray and Naomi Williams Aldridge; and a host of other relatives and friends. Florence D. Wilmot
Florence D. Wilmot, age 89, of North Canton, our much beloved mother and grandmother (G-Ma) was promoted in to the Heavenly Kingdom, April 22, 2001. A resident of Sarasota. FL for 27 years, she had been an active member of Canton Christian Fellowship where she shared her talents in many capacities. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol L. and Nick Cap of North Canton; granddaughters, Lynnete Wright of Jackson, MO., and Dennine Cap-Brown and husband, Michael J. of Massillon; grandsons, Jared P. Cap of Southern Pines, NC; and great grandson, Michael G. of Jackson, MO. Preceded in death by parents, William and Clara (Roesch) Down; first husband, Charles W. McCort in 1956; and second husband, King A. Wilmot in 1988. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, with Rev. George Rohn
George Rohn, 77, passed away April 20, 2001. Mr. Rohn was born in 1924 in Beach City, Ohio. He served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1947, at which time he became a professional boxer. He was an auctioneer for 25 years. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Grace Rohn; and brother, Leo. He is survived by his daughter, Diane G. Donovan of Longwood, FL; son, Richard (Tabitha) Rohn of Canton, MI; sister, Elizabeth Simon of Dalton, OH; and five grandchildren. According to his wishes, there will be no services.

Lowell Ray Bowling
Lowell Ray Bowling, 64, (known to his friends and family as Junior), of Bradenton, Fl., died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL. He was born in Canton, where he had made his home before moving to Florida 23 years ago. He was a truck driver for the C. W. Transport Company for many years. Survivors include his wife, Donna Bowling of Bradenton, FL.; his father and step-mother, Rev. Ray and Marie Bowling of Orrville; one daughter, Terri Simons of Palmetto, FL; two sons, Lowell B. Bowling of Canton and Timothy Bowling of Bradenton; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; brothers, Robert Bowling of Kokomo, IN., John Bowling of Dalton, OH; and Mark Bowling of Findlay, OH; and sisters, Thelma Fleischman of North Canton, OH; and Judy White of Marion, OH. One son, Richard R. Bowling, and his mother, Olvie Bowling, precede him in death. Nancy L. Lear
Mrs. Nancy L. Lear, aged 65, passed away Monday morning, April 23, 2001, in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Parcoal, WV, the daughter of the late William Meredith and Eula V. Sherman. She attended the schools of Barber County. Nancy was a former hairdressing instructor who taught at the Gerber Beauty School. In later years, she had a popular ceramics class where she met many friends. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James W. Lear of the home; one daughter, Debra Koval and her husband, Jay; sons, William J. and Annette Simmons, Steven G. and Iris Simmons; stepdaughter, Linda Lear; stepsons, James and Robert Lear, all of Canton; grandchildren, Crystal (Chris) McMerrell, Vanessa and Ashley Koval, Patrick, Tiffany and Steven Simmons, Jeff Bowen, Robert James and Nate Lear; one brother-in-law, Charles Larry Lear of Jupiter, FL.
