Marie MacAvoy, 83, of Avon, died Wednesday at Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville following a short illness.
Friends may call 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon.

Marijane ‘Molly’ Marshall
Marijane "Molly" Marshall (nee Dellefield), 70, of Elyria died Wednesday at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following an illness of several months.
Born in Elyria, she lived here most of her life and graduated from Elyria High School in 1948.
She was employed by American Standard (later known as Tappan and then Smith Jones) as accounting supervisor for 27 years before retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Elyria.
She also was a member of the Elyria VFW 1079 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Fred C.; a son, Richard C., and a grandson, Guy Marshall, both of Herndon, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Mary (nee Mahlke) Dellefield; brothers Irvin and Robert Dellefield, and a sister, Lois Krueck.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. in the Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria.
The Rev. Kenneth L. Gerhardt will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.

Raymond John ‘Jack’ Krueck
Raymond John "Jack" Krueck, 73, of South Amherst died Monday at Amherst Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born in South Amherst, he was a lifelong Lorain County resident, residing in South Amherst for the last 30 years.
He graduated from South Amherst High School in the class of 1945 and attended Ohio State University.
Mr. Krueck served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving his training in Sampson, N.Y. He was stationed aboard the USS Samar in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and received the Victory Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal.
He was employed by Century Telephone Co. in Lorain as a PBX operator for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
Mr. Krueck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst.
He also was a member of South Amherst American Legion Post 197 and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ann (nee Hasko); a son, Martin J. of Toledo; daughters Anne Marie Clark of Barstow, Calif., and Margaret J. Harrison of Fort Bragg, N.C.; eight grandchildren; brothers William of Dunedin, Fla., and Joseph and Walter, both of South Amherst, and sisters Ruth Schreiber of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Annette Vandersommen of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Adam and Mary Catherine (nee Collins); a brother, John F., and sister, Marie Berger.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where a service by the South Amherst American Legion Post 197 will be 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services with full military honors by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 115 Central Dr., Amherst.

Barry D. Hogan
Barry Donald Hogan, 42, a lifelong Lorain area resident, died unexpectedly Saturday in the emergency room at Community Health Partners in Lorain.
Mr. Hogan was a 1976 graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School and later attended the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, where he received an auto technologist certification.
He worked at Camaco Lorain Manufacturing as a machinist and also worked at Vectron Manufactory in Elyria, Thogus Products in Avon Lake, Pinkerton Security in Independence and USS/Kobe Steel Co. in Lorain.
Mr. Hogan was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Elyria.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing and working on cars.
Survivors include daughters Latasha Marie Hogan, Kiawna Monique Hogan and Destiny Latrice Hogan, all of Lorain; his parents, Dempsey and Betty of Lorain; brothers Keith and Kevin, both of Louisville, Ky.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Craig Hogan; maternal grandparents Pierce J. Moore and Elijiah Cornwell; and paternal grandparents Shedric and Hattie Hogan.

Helen E. Kolopus (nee Frey), 93, of Elyria died Monday at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a sudden illness.

Angelic Price, 30, of Lorain died Sunday [May 7, 2000] at Community Health Partners East in Lorain following a short illness.

Eugene James Duffy
Eugene James Duffy, 82, of Vermilion and Englewood, Fla., died Tuesday at Englewood Community Hospital.
Born in Elyria, he lived in Engelwood during the winters and Vermilion during the summers.
Mr. Duffy was a managing director of the Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for 37 years.
He attended St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Engelwood and served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara; a daughter, Mary Ann Balas of Poolville, Texas; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack of Hudson, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Dale E. Parks, 57, of Elyria died Tuesday at his home after a long illness.

Liela A. Eshelman
Liela A. Eshelman (nee Weichel), 67, of Elyria died Thursday at her residence following a short illness.
Born in Elyria, she was a lifelong resident of the area.
She graduated from Elyria High School in 1951 and attended a business college for 18 months following her graduation from high school.
Mrs. Eshelman was an executive secretary for many years and worked at the American Ship Building Company in Lorain and other area companies.
She retired as an executive secretary from the Machinery Center in Westlake in 1995.
Mrs. Eshelman was a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church in Elyria, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and former choir member.
She enjoyed reading, roller skating and golfing.
Survivors include her sons Arthur Cleary of Elyria and AD1 Robert L. Cleary of Rota, Spain, where he serves with the Navy; a stepson, Matthew Eshelman of Hiram; a stepdaughter, Traci Ramey of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Jay Weichel of Raleigh, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, in 1994; a son, Norman E. Cleary, in 1984; and her parents, Leland and Carol (nee Lewis) Weichel.

Birchie Case
Birchie Case, 81, of New London died Tuesday at her home after a short illness.
Born in Honaker, Ky., she moved to New London in 1952.
She was a member of the Fitchville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwean Anderson of New London; a son, Orbie Case of New London; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Oma Ricer and Oval Bolen, both of Willard; and brothers Russell Kidd and Frank Kidd Jr., both of Dana, Ky., and Truman Kidd of Honaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joshua Case, in 1994; a daughter, Gearline Stewart, in 1993; an infant granddaughter, Linda Stewart; her parents, Johnnie and Rhoda (nee Harvey) Kidd; her stepfather, Frank Kidd Sr.; sisters Ann Bolen and Emma Patrick; and brothers Burley Kidd and Ermal Kidd.

Susan Ciesok
Susan Ciesok (nee Gresko), 89, of Sheffield Township, died Wednesday at Community Health Partners in Lorain following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lorain, she had been a lifelong resident of the Lorain and Sheffield Township areas.
She had been employed at Radian Mills in Elyria as a clipper in the stocking factory and by Western Automatic (Moen) in Elyria as an inspector. During World War II, she worked at U.S. Steel as a crane operator.
Mrs. Ciesok was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Township and a charter member of the Ruth Naomi Guild of the church.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include her sisters, Mildred Gresko of Sheffield Township and Eleanor Petrick of Westlake and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ciesok, in 1978.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
Private family funeral services will be held.
