Richard Davis
ASHTABULA - Richard Davis, 72, of West Center Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born April 5, 1929, in Meadville, Pa., the son of George and Olive (Swift) Davis.
He worked as a foreman laborer for 35 years at National Engineering, Strongsville, retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed gardening, tractors and auto racing.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, whom he married Feb. 5, 1975, in Jefferson; a son, Rick of Ashtabula; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family service will be held, officiated by Christine Strachan, pastor of North Kingsville Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery, Linesville, Pa.
No calling hours will be observed.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Kingsville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 318, North Kingsville 44068.
The Dean Funeral Home, 3137 E. Center St., North Kingsville, has charge of the arrangements.

Miriam Tallbacka
ASHTABULA - Miriam M. Tallbacka, 79, formerly of Myrtle Avenue, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Park Haven Home, Ashtabula.
She was born March 26, 1922, the daughter of Matt and Lempi (Saxburg) Lillvis and was a lifelong Ashtabula resident. She married Robert W. Tallbacka on March 26, 1947, the same day of the year as both of their birthdays.
A Harbor High School graduate, she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. A.A. DeCato for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Tallbacka enjoyed classical music, fishing with her husband, and traveling to Canada, South Carolina and Finland. She loved being involved in her grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include her husband; three grandchildren, Matthew, Meredith, and Micah Loudermilk; and three brothers, Ahti Lillvis of Sarasota, Fla., and Oliver and Reino Lillvis of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Arlene Loudermilk; three brothers, Matt, Onni, and Allen Lillvis; and a sister, Gertrude Tanner.
Memorial service is 1 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Brink-Ducro Harbor Funeral Home, 1709 W. 11th St., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Glen Warner, pastor of Second Congregational United Church of Christ officiating.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula.

Kathleen H. “Kay” (Meehan) DeBold
ASHTABULA - Kathleen H. “Kay” DeBold, 86, of Saybrook, died Wednesday January 11, 2012 at UH - Geauga Medical Center.
Kay was born July 1, 1925 in Cleveland to Joseph and Angela Meehan.
On March 2, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late Cecil Reid DeBold. After they married, she and her husband moved to Perry, where they built their home together and started a family. During this time, Kay was a stay-at-home mother to their three children. In 1968, they moved to Austinburg and managed Stucky’s Pecan Shop until they retired in 1979 and moved to Saybrook.
Kay, along with her husband of 62 years, enjoyed gardening, flying in their private plane, breeding boxers, cooking, and spending time with family. She was an animal lover, especially of her boxer, Gretta, and her cat, Tizzy.
Kay was loved by all who knew her and met her and will forever be deeply missed. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband; her parents; brothers, Bud and Jerry; and sisters, Mary and Patricia.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Sara) DeBold, Thomas (Debbie) DeBold and Kathy (Dave) Russell; her nine grandchildren, Craig, Brian, Michael, Heather, Tim, Tom, Scott, Lisa and Chad; and her five great-grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Brayden, Madeline and Jacob.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday, January 16, 2012 at Childs and Williams Family Funeral Home, 1440 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Childs and Williams Family Funeral Home, 1440 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Burial will follow at Saybrook Cemetery in Saybrook.

Sylvia Goudge
ASHTABULA - Sylvia D. Goudge, 71, died Thursday Feb. 7, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born July 21, 1930, in Beacon Hill, Mich., she was a daughter of Hjalmer and Hilja (Lindstrom) Myllyoja.
Mrs. Goudge was employed by Hulbert's Restaurant for 10 years. A Cleveland Indian fan, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Mikkonen of Mills River, N.C., and Ann Goudge of Ashtabula; eight sons, William Jr. of Lake Elsinore, Calif., James, Thomas, Steven, David and Timothy, all of Ashtabula; Jeffrey of Dorset Township, and Albert of Conneaut; 21 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother; and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and a brother.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Alonzo Graff of Harbor United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Donations can be made to the family.

Frederick G. Thome
ASHTABULA - Frederick G. Thome, 88, of Runkle Ave., died Friday, January 13, 2012, at Saybrook Landing.
He was born March 27, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late David and Margaret (Ensman) Thome. He was a lifelong Ashtabula resident. He married Anne Yourchak May 11, 1946, and together they celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.
Fred was a US Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a mechanic for SCM and the railroad. He was a wonderful carpenter; he used those skills to build his own home. He enjoyed woodworking, and had made all 10 of his great-grandchildren wooden “rocking horses” when they were born. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being the neighborhood watchman. Fred was an avid supporter of the Cleveland Indians, Jim Thome in particular. It was a wonderful day when he (Jim Thome) returned to the Indians team.
Fred is survived by his wife, Anne; sons, Frederick M. (Joyce) Thome and David R. “Buddy” Thome all of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Lora (Mike) Dodge of Geneva, and Steve (Michelle) Thome of Ashtabula; great-grandchildren, John, Stevie, Jordan, Melanie, Taryn, Tylor, Taylor, Haley, Hunter, and Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Reed Thome and Ralph Thome; sister, Frances Kincaid; and nephew John Thome.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012, at 12:00 pm (noon) at Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 400 W. Prospect Ave., Ashtabula, with Father Raymond Thomas of Our Lady of Peace Parrish, St. Joseph Worship site officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 am until the time of service at noon.

Mary H. Niemi
ASHTABULA ­ Mary Helen Niemi, 80, of Knollwood Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born July 4, 1921, in Johnstown, Pa., the daughter of Nufre and Nellie (Pickalo) Mendralla and had lived in Jefferson and Ashtabula most of her life.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Jefferson, and attended Ashtabula schools. She worked as a cashier in different grocery stores, retiring from the A&P Grocery.
Mrs. Niemi loved animals, especially cats; working with flowers; gardening and baking.
Survivors include three sisters, Stephanie Pastor of Cleveland, Josephine Shislowski and Frances Heino of Ashtabula; a brother, John Mendralla of Ashtabula; her fiancé and longtime companion, Louis Kelner of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren, Billy, Joe, Kathy, Brenda and Laurie Niemi, Kelly Sloan, Kristina Locy, Erin and Andrew Kelner; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; a son, Robert; a sister, Stella Hagquist; four brothers, Frank, Walter, Edward and Joseph Mendralla; and her parents.
Service is 11 a.m. today at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Steven R. Wassie of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, Jefferson, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Saybrook Township.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the hour of service today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Kingsville Township.

O. Ella Andrejack
ASHTABULA – O. Ella Andrejack, 90, formerly of S.R. 193, Kingsville died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Silver Sands where she had been a resident for the past several years.
She was born March 7, 1917 in Cleveland, the daughter of Zachary and Antonena Stelmachuk and had been an area resident most of her life.
A graduate of Kingsville High School, was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Catholic Church where she cleaned the church and was an avid bingo worker for many years. She belonged to Council of Women and participated in their many fundraisers. She also ran the blood pressure clinic for many years in the church hall for Sheffield Township.
Ella loved her flower garden and playing pinochle and volunteered canning fruits and vegetables at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and collecting for the American Red Cross.
Her survivors include three sons, Robert J. (Bobbie) of Kingsville, Andrew James, Jr. (Shirley) of North Kingsville, and David Z. (Jackie) of Greer, SC; two daughters, Annette ((Dave) Holub of Kingsville and Elaine (Dennis) Engelmann of Ashtabula; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Andrejack, Sr. on July 1, 2000; one granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Andrejack; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 AM Thursday, May 24, 2007 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 3700 SR 193, Kingsville. Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie, Pastor will preside. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula.
