PIERPONT TOWNSHIP - Leah M. Richmond, 94, of Marcy Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
Arrangements will be announced by Childs-Williams Funeral Home, 96 Route 7, Pierpont.
Cora M. Kelly
PIERPONT TOWNSHIP - Cora M. Kelly, 72, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut.
She was born March 6, 1929, in Carlisle, W.Va., the daughter of the Rev. Julius C. and Emma (Dawson) Gresham.
Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of Central State College in Xenia, where she earned her degree in elementary education.
She was an elementary school teacher for the Cleveland School District before moving to the Conneaut area where she taught at the South Ridge Christian Academy and the Bushnell Christian Academy before teaching home schooling for three years. She retired in 1991.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly, Cleveland; the Lord's Church, Washington, Pa.; and was a member of several Christian organizations.
Mrs. Kelly was a Conneaut resident for more than 31 years and had attended the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, crafts, woodworking, ministry and shopping.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Norris Sr. of Pierpont Township, whom she married Jan. 20, 1951; two sons, Norris Jr. of Elyria, and Nathan R. of Akron; a daughter, Cynthia Story, of Ashtabula; a niece whom she raised as a daughter, Pawnee Faye Holland, of Tucson, Ariz.; a grandson, Michael B. Kelly; two sisters, Clester Pace of Chicago, and Serrena Bryan of Columbus; and a brother, Elmore Weathers of Plano, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Elsie Smith and Lily Gipson.
Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 283 Buffalo St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Peg Welch officiating. Assisting the service will be additional pastors from various churches. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hour is from noon until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Betty J. Stack
PIERPONT TOWNSHIP - Betty J. Stack, 71, formerly of Andover, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The daughter of William and Isabella (Rasey) Albee, she was born March 1, 1929, in Conneaut. She was an area resident most of her life.
She was self employed as a dairy farmer and also worked several outside jobs during her lifetime.
Mrs. Stack attended Cherry Valley Nazarene Church, and had been a longtime active member of Richmond Grange. She enjoyed bowling, music, and time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters: Bonnie L. Turner of Pierpont and Twila Tubberville of Shelbyville, Tenn.; one adopted daughter, Mary Margaret Jone of Pierpont; three sons: Hubert D. Hammond of Ashtabula and Bruce W. Hammond and Joseph P., both of Andover; one sister, Judy Bowers of Monroe Township; two brothers: William of Madison and Robert of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph; one daughter, Balinda Sue Hammond; one granddaughter, Penny; and one sister, Rosemary.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Brent Reed, pastor of Cherry Valley Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Sarah Hendricks
PIERPONT TOWNSHIP - Sarah Hendricks, 84, of St. Rt. 167 W., Pierpont Township, passed away Wednesday morning, June 18, 2003, at the Jefferson Medical Associates, Inc., Jefferson, where she had resided for the past six months.
Mrs. Hendricks was born March 9, 1919, in Sharples, WV, the daughter of George and Tressie S. (Olahuts) Mentz, and has been a resident of Pierpont for the past 33 years.
Mrs. Hendricks was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ashtabula.
Mrs. Hendricks enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and play practical jokes on friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Tressie J. Root of Pierpont, and Sandy (Roger) McNeely of Sarasota, FL; one son, John (Phyllis) Hendricks of Linn, MO; ten grandchildren, Paul Wayne, Sheila, Scott, Christa, Eddie, George Paul, Kelly, Tami, Dana, and Melissa; three step-granddaughters; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline Siefring of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mont E. Hendricks, in 1985; two sons, George P. in 1987, and Carl E. in 1950; and four sisters, Effie Santo, Sophia Laws, Annie White, and Florica Armeni.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 21, in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.
Friends may call Friday evening, June 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Childs & Williams Family Funeral Home, 96 St. Rt. 7, Pierpont. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Charles D. Talbort
PIERPONT - Charles D. Talbort, 69, of Pierpont, OH, died Thursday evening, June 19, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH, following a brief illness. He was born June 2, 1934, in Cleveland, OH, a son of Charles M. and Vera (Doepp) Talbort.
A Pierpont resident for the past 14 years, he formerly lived in Cleveland where he was employed at Gould Machine Shop, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Gilmore Counsel, of Mayfield, OH. He enjoyed reading and playing cards, and he loved his animals.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ruth (Lessner) whom he married August 13, 1986; his daughter Judith Kay of Willoughby, OH; his son Charles A. Talbort of Texas; three sisters, Donna Dawson of Strongsville, OH, Vicki Talbort of Lakewood, OH, and Sharon of Bermuda; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, and Lacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at a later date. The Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Donna J. Litwiler
PIERPONT - Donna J. (Woodard) Litwiler, 79, of S.R. 6, died Friday, January 24, 2003 at her home.
She was born June 19, 1923 in Andover, the daughter of Ernest and Goldie (Spafford) Woodard and had been a lifelong area resident.
She graduated from Andover High School in 1941. Following her graduation, she worked at Cook Coffee Company in Cleveland, commuting to Cleveland by train.
Mrs. Litwiler entered the Army nurses training program at Huron Road Hospital. She married Lee Litwiler February 24, 1946.
She lived in Andover for a year, then moved to Espyville, Pa., and in 1951, moved to Pierpont.
Mrs. Litwiler worked at various places throughout her marriage including working as an in-home care giver, picking up potatoes at Shelatoes Potatoes Farm, packing pickles, sewing custom drapes and slipcovers and as a seamstress.
She also assisted her husband in running his business, Penn Line Plumbing & Heating and Litwiler Upholstery.
Mrs. Litwiler joined the Penn Line Church of Christ in 1947. She served as a Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher and played the Organ for Sunday services.
She was a member of The Ohio Travelers, Orion #12, Order of the Eastern Star and The Ohio Cardinals campers’ clubs.
She was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed making crafts, reading novels, golfing, doing crossword puzzles and traveling in the winter months.
Mrs. Litwiler is survived by her children Larry Litwiler of Port Huron, Mi. and Rebecca Litwiler of Pierpont; a brother, Darl E. Woodard of Ashtabula; six grandchildren, Larry Litwiler Jr., Todd Litwiler, Charles Hawn, Heather (Hawn) Laferty, Nicholas Rhodes and Amanda Rhodes; and four great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and grandparents.
A service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Penn Line Church of Christ, 6968 U.S. Route 6, Pierpont. The Rev. Thomas Rank, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont Twp.
No calling hours will be observed.

Sally M. Bernardez
PIERPONT - Sally M. Bernardez, 94, of Pierpont, died early Tuesday morning, March 25, 2003, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva, in Geneva.
She was born Nov. 9, 1908, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Kujawa) Szuflada, and lived in Pierpont most of her life.
A homemaker, she attended St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sheffield Township.
She enjoyed attending and helping with the senior lunch at Pierpont Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three sons, David P. of Linesville, Pa., Roger W. of Pierpont Township, and Victor J. Bernardez of Stow; four grandchildren, Gary and Tim Bernardez, Laura Horch and Andrea Barnett; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul S. Bernardez, in 1979; three brothers; and two sisters.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Childs and Williams Family Funeral Home, 96 Route 7, Pierpont. The Rev. Stephen Wassie, pastor of St. Andrew's Catholic Church of Sheffield, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joseph M. Dreslinski
PIERPONT - Joseph M. Dreslinski, 16, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Jan. 18, 1985, in Conneaut, the son of Andrew Douglas and Alice (Stills) Dreslinski.
He had lived in Pierpont all his life and was a sophomore at Edgewood Senior High School. He was a member of the Conneautville, Pa. Church of Christ and Youth Group and worked part-time at the Free Press in Espyville, Pa. He enjoyed music, working on his car stereo, and hanging out with his friends.
Survivors include his parents of Pierpont; a sister, Amanda B, at home; four brothers, Gary D. of Clearwater, Fla., Justin L. of Minot Air Force Base, N.D., Andrew Mark of Kessler Air Force Base, Miss., and Matthew F. at home; and his paternal grandparents, Sophia Dreslinski of Kingsville, and Andrew and Barb Dreslinski of Pahrump, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Forrest and Freda Stills.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Brad White will conduct the service. Burial will in Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
