Bert A. Craft
ASHTABULA - Bert A. Craft, 78, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in the Carrington Park Nursing Facility. He had been a resident there since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease two years ago.
Born Oct. 4, 1921, in Dodgeville, he was a son of Frank and Carla (Turner) Craft.
He married Almeta E. Prough on March 16, 1946.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union. He worked for Ashtabula Forge and Ken Forging up until the time of his illness.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Paul A. of Ashtabula; two daughters, Dianna J. Vialle of Baytown, Texas, and Kathleen E. Shepherd of Louisville, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Erwin and George.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Brian Wright of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are one hour before the service.

Lucille Wuori
ASHTABULA - Lucille "Sally" Wuori, 87, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Carington Park in Ashtabula.
Born April 16, 1913, in Ashtabula, She was the daughter of James and Nellie Aiken. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed music and poetry.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Montgomery of Ashtabula; two sons, Charles of Maryland and Mark of Ashtabula; two brothers, William and Francis of Battlecreek, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kaarlo E.; and one brother, Paul.
Graveside service at Edgewood Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Potti Lakeside Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.
Clifford Dallas McClure
ASHTABULA - Clifford Dallas McClure, 81, former Ashtabula City Manager, Ward 4 Councilman, and vice-president of council died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born August 11, 1927 in Dubois, PA, the son of Clifford and Ada (Kennard) McClure. After graduating from St. Catherine’s High School in 1946, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Sasebo and Kobe, Japan. He married the love of his life, Louise Ciccone, on June 23, 1951.
An Ashtabula resident since 1952, Mr. McClure along with his late wife owned and operated McClure’s Park News on Main Avenue for 10 years. He was an insurance agent for over thirty years and worked for Prudential and Lovas Insurance. He started his political career in 1971 when he was elected Vice-President of Ashtabula City Council. He served six years as city manager from 1975 to 1981; Ward 4 Councilman from 1983 to 1989, served in the position of City Manager again from 1989 to 1991; and served his last elected position again as Ward 4 Councilman from 1995 to 2005.
He was on the ballot in the city of Ashtabula an unprecedented 22 times, winning 17 of those contests. He retired from politics in 2005.
Known as “Tex” to many family and close friends, Mr. McClure loved spending time with his family, cooking, and following national, state, and local politics. Next to his family, he truly loved helping people and working hard to make a positive difference in the city of Ashtabula. He was especially fond of the Friday night card games with friends, a weekly event for over 50 years.
Clifford was a member of St. Joseph Church, the VFW Post 943 serving two terms as Commander, American Legion Post 103, and was Past President of the Lions Club.
Survivors include his children, Mary (Vince) Verzumo, Kathy (Rick) Vist, Steve (Barb) McClure, and Doug McClure (Vanessa Dufala), all of Ashtabula; daughter-in-law, Carlyn McClure of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Katie(Steve) Nelson, Robert Elliott, Vincent and Greg Verzumo, Jennie Vist, Nicole (Nick) Rudert, Stephen and Courtney McClure; great-granddaughter, Morgan Rudert; brother, Fred McClure of Ashtabula; sisters, Bobbie Dinger of Ashtabula, Joey Jones of Green Hills, and Nancy Senecal of Coffeyville, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Ciccone) McClure on June 10, 2006; son, Patrick McClure on April 23, 2008; granddaughter, Megan McClure; two brothers, James and Thomas McClure; sister, Patricia Sharkey; and his parents, Clifford and Ada McClure.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula. Fr. Philip Miller will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula with full military honors provided by the American Legion, Dewey Howlett Post #103.

Donna J. Schall
ASHTABULA - Donna J. Schall, 80, of Park Avenue, died Friday, August 1, 2003, at the Park Haven Nursing Home in Ashtabula.
She was born on December 31, 1922 in Conneaut, the daughter of John and Minnie (Pike) Anderson and has been a lifetime area resident.
She had been a member of the Ashtabula Eagles and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna L. Schall of Ashtabula; step-son, Donald Schall of Ashtabula; step-daughter, Dorothy Friedt of Geneva; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Stowe of Baltimore, MD.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Schall in 1988; three step-sons, Edward, Marian, and Homer Jr.; a step-daughter, Marjorie; a brother, Andrew; and three sisters, Louise Anderson, Betty Sibble, and Bessie Zezzo.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the ROSS-BILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 526 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Rev. Roger Zale, of Hospice of Ashtabula County, officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling Hour will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2003, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Eloise Kelly
ASHTABULA - Sister Eloise Kelly, 48, of Madison Ave., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Louisville, Miss., the daughter of Roland and Bessie (Bridges) Kelly.
In 1956, she moved to Ashtabula with her mother and attended West Elementary, West Junior High, and Ashtabula High School, where she graduated with honors in 1971.
A 1976 graduate of Ohio state University in Columbus, she moved to Atlanta and attended Woodrow Wilson Law School. She graduated in 1986 with a Jurist Doctorate Law Degree.
She practiced law, attended the First Congregational Church in Atlanta, where she served as a secretary, and was a community activist.
She returned to Ashtabula in 1994. She worked at the Mary Chapman Center, NAACP, and attended the Hiawatha Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her mother, of Ashtabula; her father, of Louisville, Miss.; five brothers, Paul of Decatur, Ga., Donald of Ashtabula, and Thomas, Randall and Roland Kelly, all of Louisville, Miss.; and two sisters, Linda Faye Kelly and Debra Carter, both of Louisville, Miss.
Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the People's Baptist Church, 3837 West Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. David Howard of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

Hazel M. Nolan
ASHTABULA - Hazel M. Nolan died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Earl and Alma Louise (Holste) Schier and had been an area resident for nearly 50 years.
Mrs. Nolan was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church.
Her passion was skiing and she loved to travel to Switzerland with her husband to enjoy this pastime.
Her survivors include her husband, J. Richard Nolan, M.D., whom she married on June 16, 1945; three sons, David R. of North Kingsville, Roger B. of San Mateo, Calif., and Mark Hollis Nolan of Cleveland; two daughters, Sharon Nolan Tomlinson of Medford, N.J., and Christine Larragoite of Annapolis, Md.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Dunholter of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl C. Schier, Jr.; and her parents.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Church. The Rev. Michael Balash will preside.
No calling hours will be observed.

Foster "Nick" D. Bolyard Jr.
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Foster "Nick" D. Bolyard Jr., 56, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, following a long battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 18, 1944, in Cleveland, he was the son of Foster and Katherine (D'Amico) Bolyard and had lived in the Murray Hill "Little Italy" area for most of his life.
Mr. Bolyard worked at Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland, for many years. He also did painting and contract work.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church.
Survivors include his mother; three daughters: Nicolette of Ashtabula; Deanna Martin of Kingsville Township, with whom he made his home; and Samantha of Chester, Va.; a son, Bill of Painesville; six grandchildren; and two sisters: Francis Bolyard-Nicholas of Naples, Fla., and Sandra Vernon of Eastlake.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Service is 1 p.m. Sunday at Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township.
Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
