Beverly V. Summanen
ASHTABULA - Beverly V. Summanen, 81, of Latimer Avenue, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Herman and Hazel (Stevens) McBean and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life. She spent several years in Clyde.
Mrs. Summanen was a homemaker most of her life and worked briefly at Shea's Theatre as well as Molded Fiberglass in her younger years.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Bob of Ashtabula and John C. of Columbus; a granddaughter, Shannon; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on Sept. 12, 1995; a brother, Russell McBean, in infancy; a sister, Gloria McBean, in infancy; and her parents.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday at the family gravesite in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township, with the Rev. David Hofer of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula.

Daniel P. McConnell II
ASHTABULA - Daniel Patrick McConnell, III, the 6-week-old son of Daniel P. McConnell and Melissa S. Seegert, of Center St., Ashtabula, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born April 16, 2002 in Conneaut.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Dakota James Kidwell and Ethan Rea Barker of Ashtabula; maternal grandparents, Judith A. and Jeffery R. Sillanpaa, paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Debbie L. Smock, and Patrick D. and Sue McConnell, all of Conneaut; maternal great-grandmother, Rosemary Woodworth of Conneaut; paternal great-grandparents, Betty M. Doyle and Margaret A. McConnell of Ashtabula
He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandfathers, Lewis E. Doyle and Daniel C. McConnell.
A services will be held Wednesday at the convenience of the family in the Chapel of St. Joseph's Cemetery, with the Rev. Philip Miller of St. Joseph's Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Harold R. Huskonen
ASHTABULA - Harold R. Huskonen, 85, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at the Country Club Retirement Center, Ashtabula.
He was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Richmond Hill, Long Island, N.Y., the son of Paul and Alma (Laskso) Huskonen.
Mr. Huskonen was a widely known craftsman and expert welder. He taught welding at the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School, where he was a charter member teaching to enrolled students and adults. His welding and pipefitting expertise also were available to friends after his retirement in 1983.
Prior to his teaching career, he was weigh master at the PY&A docks in Ashtabula and worked as a certified pipeline welder.
Mr. Huskonen was an avid and accomplished bowler, golfer, and cribbage player. He was a student of the Great Lakes marine industry, collecting books about ships and the sailors.
He was a member of the North End Club and East Ashtabula Club.
Mr. Huskonen loved animals, especially dogs and was gifted in his capacity for communicating with children.
Survivors include his daughters, Jane Huskonen and Kay Heath of Ashtabula; a granddaughter, Melissa of Ashtabula and a great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Oliver; and his wife, Lillian A. (Kujanpa).
At Mr. Huskonen request, no calling hours or service will be observed..

Shirley A. Tyler
ASHTABULA - Shirley A. Tyler, 65, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Inn Conneaut Health Center, Conneaut.
She was born Aug. 17, 1936, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Walter L. and Hazel E. (Clark) Niemi, and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
She married Lawrence A. Tyler in 1974 at Saybrook United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Tyler graduated from Harbor High School in 1954. She was most recently employed for the past eight years by the Department of Job and Family Services of Ohio.
She enjoyed shooting trap with her husband at the Ashtabula Rod and Gun Club; music, especially polka; bowling; golf; and crafts.
Survivors include two sisters, Nona L. Brown of Ashtabula and Marlene H. Andrews of Mary Esther, Fla.; three brothers, Walter L. Niemi Jr. of California, and Myron B. and Donald J. Niemi of Ashtabula; and her stepmother, Frances J. Niemi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1999.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Potti Lakeside Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. David Hofer of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Daniel Fagnilli
ASHTABULA - Daniel Fagnilli, 68, of Austinburg Road, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Cleveland, the son of Luigi and Maria (Butto) Fagnilli.
Mr. Fagnilli was the owner and operator of Harbor Automotive on Bridge Street for 21 years prior to his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of Harbor United Methodist Church.
Mr. Fagnilli was past president of the Harbor Merchants Association and also worked on the Walnut Beach Committee.
He enjoyed restoring automobiles, working with tractors, renovating his home, and eating ice cream.
Mr. Fagnilli also raced midget cars on dirt tracks when he was younger.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Garble), whom he married June 19, 1971; two daughters, Mia Johnson of Harpersfield Township and Amy Fagnilli of Cuyahoga Falls; a granddaughter, Bella Johnson; and two brothers, Joshua and Samuel of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Catherine Balleriano; a brother and two sisters in infancy; and his parents.
Service is 1 p.m., Tuesday at Harbor United Methodist Church, 322 Harbor Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. A. K. Graff officiating.
Burial will be in Austinburg Center Cemetery.

Lena Iafelice
ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP - Lena Iafelice, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born May 18, 1920, in Campobasso, Italy, to Crescenzo and Lucia (Colalillo) Iafelice. She came to the United States in 1953 and made her home in Ashtabula the last 20 years.
Before her retirement, she was a union seamstress for Dalton Industries.
Survivors include a daughter, Maria Ferrando DiFranco; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lucia DeCola.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula. Entombment will take place in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Friends and relatives may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Julia J. Kohn
ASHTABULA - Julia J. Kohn, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Elorn, Ontario, Canada, to John P. and Ellen E. (Christy) Bosomworth.
Mrs. Kohn married Harold F. Anderson, who died in 1957. She was a surgical nurse at Sara St. John's Hospital in Niagara Falls. She lived there with her second husband, Roy E. Kohn, until they moved to Ashtabula in 1963.
She was a member of North Kingsville Presbyterian Church and the Lions' Women's Club. She loved to ice skate and won several trophies when she was young. She loved to help people and was considered the unofficial "nurse" of Parkwood Village. She also enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; a son, John (Larry) Anderson of Willow, Alaska; a daughter, Sheila Wolfrum of Wauseon; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth E. Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, brother Ralph Bosomworth, and sister Margery Bosomworth.
Memorial service is noon Sunday at the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 6546 Church St., North Kingsville, officiated by the Rev. Christine Strachan.
The Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is in charge of arrangements.
