Ladiemer and Mollie Safcik
ASHTABULA A memorial service for Ladiemer and Mollie Safcik of Melbourne, Fla., will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 4317 Park Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen Long officiating.
Mrs. Safcik died May 27 in Melbourne.
Herman E. Crislip
ASHTABULA - Herman E. Crislip, 69, of Ashtabula, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Carington Park nursing center.
He was born July 26, 1931, in Tallmadge, the son of Harley and Helen (Wheeler) Crislip, and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life.
Prior to his retirement in 1983, he worked for Ashtabula Bow Socket and Ashtabula Forge. After retiring, he worked as a carpenter with his brother, Gerald Crislip.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served most of his term in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mr. Crislip loved his grandchildren, gardening, cooking and country music.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Pierce) Crislip, whom he married April 30, 1954; a son, Terry Crislip of Ashtabula; two daughters, Valerie Reynolds and Norma Hayes of Ashtabula; two brothers, Gerald and Neal of Ashtabula; four sisters, Kathleen Bloom, Marion Amsden, Linda Potts, and Georgia Brace, all of Ashtabula; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Cory Reynolds; two brothers, Franklin and Harley; and his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Virgil Reeve of First Baptist Church and Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of Jefferson United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Marino A. Domizi
ASHTABULA - Marino Anthony Domizi, 82, of Ashtabula, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Country Club Retirement Center.
Born Nov. 21, 1907 in Macerata, Italy, he was the son of Enricco and Palmina (Serine) Domizi.
He was the owner and operator of Domizi Art Tile Co. for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Bricklayers, Masons and Plasterers Union.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mary (Capitena); a daughter, Rita Gillen of Ashtabula; two sons, Thomas H. of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert R. of Highland Heights; eight grandchildren, Edward J. and Michael A. GIllen, Norma M. Boothby, Terri A. Wamba and Carrie, Thomas A., Lisa M. and Amy L.; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fiori; and a sister, Sunda Canzonetta.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Ashtabula.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
William R. Holt
ASHTABULA - WIlliam R. Holt, 71, of Ashtabula, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Carrington Park.
Born Dec. 12, 1929, in Willoughby, he was the son of Raymond D. and Marie (Pabst) Holt.
After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he was employed as a foreman for Ohio Bell.
He belonged to the V.F.W., the Eagles and managed "The 51/2 Slip" in the Ashtabula Harbor.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie (Tiney) of Ashtabula; one daughter, Eloise Schimmelman of Conneaut; one son, Lawrence of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Donald of Mentor; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service.
Burial of ashes will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's research or to the charity of one's choice in place of floral contributions.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Marjorie Kibbee
ASHTABULA - Marjorie Kibbee, 63, of Houston, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at her home after a long illness.
Born Dec. 11, 1936 in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of James Scott and Leta M. (Frambach) Smith and had lived in the Houston area for the last 27 years.
Survivors include her husband, James G. of Houston, Texas; a son, Jeffery of GIllette, Wyo.; three daughters, Janis Romero of Broomsfield, Colo., Cynthia Pharris of Houston, Texas, and Karen Hiller of Dike, Texas; seven grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Robert, Sonya, Tammy, Heather and James, Jr.; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. Kenneth Smith of Parsonsfield, Maine; two half-brothers, Ralston Smith of Oregon and Norman Smith of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two half-sisters, Eunice Brown and Dora Darchendt.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Kenneth Smith, her brother, will officiate.
Burial will be in Lenox Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
Tony D. Rich
Tony D. Rich (85) a resident of Ashtabula died Friday in Hamot Medical Center of Erie.
Born July 4, 1918 in Ashtabula he was the son of Joseph and Theresa (Massucci) Rich.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Rockwell Brake Plant
Survivors include his wife of sixty years the former Celia Licata, two sons Bob (Linda) of Columbus and Joe (Valerie) of Ashtabula, four grandchildren. a brother Pat Rich of Ashtabula, and a sister Rosalie Maloney of Poland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Susie Gustafson.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Monday in St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel. At the request of the deceased there will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by the Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 W. 19th St. in Ashtabula.
Robert L. Gillespie
ASHTABULA - Robert L. Gillespie, 71, of Kain Avenue, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Medical6_10__gillespie, _robert_eps Center.
He was born on April 4, 1932, in Olcott, WV, the son of Henry and Mary F. (James) Gillespie, and had been an Ashtabula area resident since 1950.
Mr. Gillespie had worked in the dietary department at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
A wonderful husband with a heart of gold, he enjoyed gardening, bike rides, helping others, and sharing time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Newsome), whom he married August 9, 1972; two daughters, Missy Lewis of Ashtabula, and Debbie Sparks of Parma; one son, Tom Guzzo of Geneva; two daughters-in-law, Billie Birch and Julie Roberts; one son-in-law, Randy Lewis; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Andrew, Wendy, James, Johnathon, David, Jeremy, Robert James, and Paul Thomas; one great-grandchild, Luis Rodriguez; one sister, Marcella Cox of Ashtabula; and one brother, Reginald Gillespie of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Jo Guzzo; one son, Samuel James Guzzo; one sister, Iris Miller; two brothers, James Henry and Charles Gilbert Gillespie; and his parents.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. today, June 10, 2003, at the Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E. Center St., N. Kingsville. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow.
Calling hour will be at the chapel from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Contributions may be made to the family. Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of arrangements.
