Michael J. Huntsberger
ASHTABULA - Michael J. Huntsberger, 60, of Wilson Avenue, died Sunday, August 10, 2003, at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born on June 19, 1943, in Orrville, the son of Samuel B. and Jean (Carl) Huntsberger.
For the past 22 years, he owned and operated Mike's Farm Market. He previously worked for Hawkins Markets in Wooster.
Mr. Huntsberger enjoyed reading and was a member of East Side Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kay (Zumbrunn), whom he married on October 12, 1963; one son, Shawn M. of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Cara Redden and Miya Huntsberger; two brothers, David of Orrville, and Stephen of Vero Beach, FL; and a niece, Laura White.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2003, at the East Side Presbyterian Church, 3440 Edgewood Drive, Ashtabula. Joyce Shellhammer, commissioned lay pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula.

Kathryne Bailey
ASHTABULA - Kathryne Bailey, 69, of Gordon Road, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1933 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Mac and Eleanor (Ruggles) McGarvey.
A lifelong resident, she was a housewife most of her adult life and was described as the "rock" of the family. She married Harry Ed Bailey January 21, 1956.
Mrs. Bailey volunteered at the Senior Center, was a member of the Swinging Seniors choral group and was a member of the Miniature Dollhouse Club. She was an avid reader, loved NASCAR and the Browns, but most of all, she loved her family.
She is survived by four children, Karen Ensell, Bonnie Downie and Roger Watson of Ashtabula, and Patrick Watson of Kent; three sisters, Barbara Church of Indianapolis, Ind., Marilynne Frazier of Chicago, Ill. and Patricia VanDyne of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Christopher Bailey, Allyson Clark, Cheri Kerns, Jennifer Ray, Joseph III, Matthew and Kay Lynne Downie; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harry, July 29, 1990.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Mary R. Villeneuve
ASHTABULA - Mary R. Villeneuve, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital of Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
She was born June 19, 1943, in Richwood, W.Va., the daughter of Haldridge and Nina (Tambarino) Workman.
She was an accomplished cake decorator and enjoyed making molded candy during the holiday season.
Survivors include her husband, William Villeneuve, whom she married Sept. 4, 1976; three sons, Pete Workman of Painesville, James Pittsenberger of Saybrook Township and Jay Alan Workman of Ashtabula; a daughter, Rhonda Frye of Mentor; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Joe and John Workman, both of Mentor and James Workman of Minot, N.D.; and three sisters, Eileen Childers of Arizona and Marilyn Predavick and Ernilda "Poochie" Petrie, both of Tulsa, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
At the deceased's request, no service will be held. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.
Bessie E. Balcomb
ASHTABULA - Bessie E. Balcomb, 84, of Lake Avenue, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Lakewood Hospital.
She was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Elyria, the daughter of Frederick and Rose Mae (Herman) Ketchum, and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1949.
She was an active member of the Salvation Army for 63 years, especially as a Christmas bell-ringer.
She also enjoyed walking at shopping malls and spending time with her family.
She married Walter H. Balcomb on Feb. 10, 1938.
Survivors include three sons, Robert O. of Saybrook Township, Norman K. of Yuma, Ariz., and Ronald R. of Geneva; six daughters, Janet R. Balcomb, Judith E. Brown and Donna L. Hershberger, all of Ashtabula, Sandra M. Strader of North Kingsville, Katherine L. Brown of Barstow, Calif., and Brenda Nelson of Oil City, Pa.; 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Dec. 4, 2000; a son, Walter J. Balcomb; two grandsons, Vincent Brown and Mark Balcomb; three great-grandchildren, James Torrance, Stacie Balcomb and Stephanie Witt; a brother, Alfred Ketchum; and seven sisters, Mary Dazey, Gladys Wirth, Adeline Ketchum, Jessie Dazey, Agnes Wack, Irene Anthony and Myrtle Morgan.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula. Harry Hendrickson, Salvation Army chaplain, will officiate, assisted by Jim and Sandy Dennis. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula.

Clara Lynn Stiles
ASHTABULA - Clara Lynn Stiles, 54, Eureka Road, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at home.
Born July 12, 1948, in McDowell, Ky., she was the daughter of Erman and Stella (Smith) Howell.
An Ashtabula resident for 40 years, she was a retired social worker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Ashtabula. Her hobbies included crocheting, needlepoint and sewing.
Survivors include her parents; husband, Jimmy, whom she married Nov. 22, 1963, in Jefferson; two sons, John of Ashtabula, and Jimmie of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; and a sister, Teresa Valentine of Ashtabula.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Burton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts of the Pentecostal Church of God officiating.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pearl Hough-Clark
ASHTABULA - Pearl Hough-Clark, 92, of Fassett Avenue, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at the Jefferson Geriatric Nursing Center in Jefferson.
She was born Aug. 28, 1910, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Frank and Avis (Russell) Stevens. The family moved to North Kingsville when she was nine years old and attended North Kingsville schools.
She married Wilbert Stewart Hough in 1929, and they moved back to Ashtabula. He died in 1956.
She worked at the former YWCA, Peoples Saving and Loan and Brandon Stationery. She moved to Washington D.C. and took up food supervision at Hanna Harrison, graduating in 1963. Later, she worked as a food supervisor at Children's Hospital in Baltimore.
She moved back to Ashtabula and married Harry Maxwell Clark in 1964. He died in 1983.
She spent several winters in St. Petersburg, Fla.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsville since she was nine, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, playing bingo and camping.
Survivors include a son, Larry Hough of Jefferson; a daughter, Boneita Roth of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Wilbert "Buster" Hough; two brothers, Raymond and Charles Stevens; two sisters, Ora Hamilton and Lounetta Reed; and a grandson, Ricky Chamberlain.
Private service will be Tuesday. The Rev. David Haines, of the First Baptist Church of Kingsville, will officiate. Burial will be at Ridgeview Cemetery in Ashtabula.
The Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is in charge of arrangements.
Pauline A. Galvin
KILLEEN, Texas - Pauline Ann Schofield Galvin, 91, formerly of Ashtabula, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002.
Mrs. Galvin was born April 8, 1911, in Ashtabula, the daughter of John and Carmella Succi.
She was raised and educated in Ashtabula but had lived in Killeen since 1987.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she served in the Altar Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Shelley of Killeen; a brother, Anthony Succi of Erie; two sisters, Connie Pallutch of Ashtabula and Irene Hofstetter of Orange County, Calif.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Sgt. Allen H. Schofield, U.S. Army retired, in 1965 and John Galvin in 1987; four brothers, Damien, Angelo, Sam and Joseph Succi; and a sister, Mary Maunus.
Services are 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen, with The Rev. Edwin Kagoo officiating.
Burial is Tuesday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
