Mary A. Frambach
ASHTABULA - Mary Ann Frambach, 85, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Harry J. and Nora (Randall) Otto.
She married Raymond N. Frambach on July 5, 1942. She worked as an operator for Ohio Bell for six years, for the Carlisle warehouse and was a laborer for NAMCO Controls for 12 years until her retirement in 1978.
She was a member of the Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church where she was an elder. She was an avid card player, especially pinochle, enjoyed playing pool and was dedicated to her family.
Survivors include her son Randall Frambach of Conneaut, daughter Karen Warner of St. Charles, Mo., a brother, Glen Otto of Ashtabula, a sister, Theo Poros of Ashtabula and three grandchildren; Eric Frambach of Pittsburgh, Pa., Elizabeth Baena of Ashtabula, and Patricia Warner of Denver, Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, on Oct. 5, 1986; two brothers, Francis Otto and Ralph Otto and a grandson, David Warner in 1988.
A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Friday, at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Lay Pastor, Joyce Shellhammer of Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Roy E. Kohn
ASHTABULA - Roy E. Kohn, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Waupun, Wis., the son of Melvin and Opel (Francis) Kohn.
Coming to Ashtabula from Niagara Falls in 1963, he was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marines. He married Julia Bosomworth in March 1960. He worked as a shift supervisor for Olin Chemicals.
He was a member of the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church and a past president of the North Kingsville Lion's Club. Mr. Kohn was involved with the Village Green Golf Course in its early years. He also played and coached minor league baseball in the 1930s and 1940s.
Survivors include his son, John "Larry" Anderson of Willow, Ala.; daughter, Sheila Wolfrum of Waseon; brother, Merle of Indiana; sister, Shirley Bossel of Indiana; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Ellen Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 3, 2002; brother, Mert; and sister, Ora Kramer.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Christine Strachan officiating.
The Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.

Vera A. Tyger
ASHTABULA - Vera A. Tyger, 76, of Gladding Avenue, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at her home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Painesville, to Walter and Mable (Hill) Rooks.
Mrs. Tyger was a Madison High School graduate. She was an operator for the Western Reserve Telephone Company 16 years, retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed crocheting, dancing and collecting phonograph records.
Survivors include sons David A. Nugent of Ashtabula and Keith N. Nugent of Jefferson;10 grandchildren, Allan, Andrea, Amy, Kelly, Marc, Jason, Adrian, Rocky, Paul and Ralph; 14 great-grandchildren; brother Walter Rooks of Madison; and sister Shirley A. Booth of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edgar J. Tyger in 1988; and sisters Gladys I. Shanks, Barbara J. Berta, Mary Kay Stoltz and Doris O'Janpa.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, officiated by Mrs. Tyger's grandson Jason Nugent, of the Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will be in Lulu Falls Cemetery, Kingsville.
Calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Fred A. Fritz
ASHTABULA - Fred A. Fritz, 92, of East 45th Street, died Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Mr. Fritz was born Dec. 1, 1910 in the Ridgewood section of Queens, N.Y., the son of Frank and Mary Fritz. He has been an Ashtabula resident since 1943.
Mr. Fritz attended New Town High School, where he was a four sport letter winner in track, cross country, basketball and baseball. During his senior year of high school, Mr. Fritz placed sixth at the New York State cross country meet. Mr. Fritz also was a graduate of Pace University with a degree in business administration.
In 1943, he came to Ashtabula as the office manager for National Carbide Corp. He joined Kiwanis shortly thereafter and was identified for his leadership potential and was elected president of the club in 1950. Since then, Mr. Fritz has remained an active member and held virtually every office at the local level. The most rewarding experience was his participation in the Kiwanis Fresh Air Camp for underprivileged children. He was maintained a perfect 54 year attendance with the club by attending meetings in California, Florida, Arizona, Iowa and Pennsylvania. Mr. Fritz was also a regular at Inner-Club and board meetings.
He was a real estate agent for Miller and Floyd reality companies and later was district manager for the Equitable Life Assurance Corp. of America.
Mr. Fritz served on the Ashtabula City Council (Ward 4) and also ran for Ashtabula City Manager.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula, where he served as an elder for 18 years and a trustee for six years. He was also a member of the Chancel choir and soloist.
In his early years, Mr. Fritz enjoyed going to Brooklyn Dodger games and singing with the Kiwanis club barbershop quartet and the Messiah Chorus.
Survivors include his five children, Charlotte J. Wilcom of Ashtabula, Joyce L. Jack of Westminister, Calif., Gail A. Sedmak of Ashtabula, Barbara A. Stewart of Kent and David F. Fritz of Stow; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Kraus of Sun City, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, whom he married Sept. 23, 1934, in Ridgewood Queens, N.Y., his parents, his sister, Margaret Fritz and one great-grandson, Richard Jan Van't Veer at birth.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 in the First Presbyterian Church, 4317 Park Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Long, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Cemetery in Ashtabula Township.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Childs and Williams Family Funeral Home, 1440 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

Paul J. Murphy
ASHTABULA - Paul J. Murphy, 76, of North Woodman Avenue, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at his home. He was born June 2, 1926 in Cleveland, the son of John and Gertrude (Boy) Murphy.
Mr. Murphy has been a resident of Ashtabula for most of his life and was employed by the former RMI Sodium of Ashtabula for 37 years, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Murphy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 943, the East Ashtabula Club, Eagles Lodge 1463 and the American Legion Dewey Howlett Post 103, all Ashtabula organizations.
Mr. Murphy enjoyed watching golf on television.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Hook) Murphy, whom he married Aug. 27, 1977 in Reno, Nev.; one daughter, Suzie Zelimeni of Ashtabula; one stepdaughter, Linda Prieto of Moss Beach, Cali.; one stepson, William Kahelin of Sullivan, four grandchildren, Steve and Mike Kahelin and Jeanne and Caroline Prieto; and one sister, Clair Wanda of Sebring, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John and his twin brother, Richard.
At the request of the family, no services or calling hours will be held.

Ronald Watts
ASHTABULA - Ronald Watts, 52, of Ashtabula died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born June 6, 1950 in Louisville, Ky., the son of Marion and Wilma Jean (Hamilton) Watts and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life.
Mr. Watts attended Ashtabula High School and worked as a machinist for Fargo Machinery.
He loved being involved in his children's activities. He especially enjoyed camping and fishing outings with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Burger), whom he married Aug. 1, 1970; his parents, Marion and Wilma Jean Watts of Plymouth Township; six children, Rebecca Hatch of Conneaut; Christy Watts, Patrick Watts, Carrie Louise Watts, and Holly Rae Watts, all of Columbus, and Abby Watts of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Erika and Zachary Hatch, and Chase and Isabella Watts; two brothers, Edward and Michael, both of Ashtabula; and two sisters, Antoinette Beninato and Michelle Laveck, both of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Watts in 1965.
Services will be 11 a.m., Monday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
Dorothy B. Dixon
ASHTABULA - Dorothy B. Dixon, 76, of Ashtabula, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Raleigh County, W. Va., the daughter of King David and Blanche Agnes (Ervin) Bish and has been a area resident since 1959.
She married Dalton Dixon, Sr., on Sept. 21, 1945.
Mrs. Dixon retired from Item Fiber Industries and also worked at Dunbar Greenhouses.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her five children, Dalton Dixon, Jr., Brenda Leers, Melvin Dixon, Doreen Finlaw and Richard Dixon, all of Ashtabula; four sisters, Jessie Kennedy of Ashtabula, Violet Dillon of Oak Hill, W. Va., Carol Smith and Belinda Clayton of New London, N.C.; two brothers, Curtis Bish of Conneaut and Jimmy Bish of New London, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1999; a son, Dennis Dixon in 1977 and a daughter, Shelia Marie at birth.
Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts of the Pentecostal Church of God officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m.; Monday at the funeral home.
