ROBERT B. TURNER
ORANGE CITY, FL -- Robert B. Turner, October 8, 1908 - February 9, 2006.
Robert B. (Bob) Turner, age 97, of Orange City, Florida, died February 9, 2006, at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial.
A native of Ashtabula, Ohio, Mr. Turner was sales manager of Ashtabula Box Company, which was acquired by Inland Container Corporation, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He retired from Inland in 1973 as senior vice president and national sales manager. He was also a director of the Fiber Box Association and a member of All Saints Church in Jensen Beach, Florida. Mr. Turner later moved to Port St. Lucie Country Club, near Stuart, Florida, where he lived until relocating to John Knox Village in Orange City in 1999.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Jr. (Dianne), of Carmel, Indiana, and Bruce (Betsy), of Port Orange, Florida; a brother, William, of Naples, Florida; a sister, Marge Hall, of Venice, Florida; granddaughters Cynthia (Mrs. Blake) Miller, of Chicago; Lauren (Mrs. Bill) Stidham, of Carmel, Indiana; Denise Turner, of Port Orange, Florida; a grandson, Douglas Turner, of Port Orange, Florida; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Miller, of Chicago.

THOMAS C. COOLEY
ASHTABULA - Thomas Calvin "T.C." Cooley, age 81, of Jefferson Road passed from earth to glory on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born February 23, 1924, in Vossburg, MS, the son of Luvenia Cooley Nunn and Earl Nunn. He was an only child and was raised by his grandparents Isom and Martha Cooley and had been an Ashtabula resident for 57 years.
Prior to his retirement in 1986, he worked as an electrician for Elkem Metals, previously Union Carbide and Electromet.
Mr. Cooley was a World War II veteran in the United States Navy where he served in the Pacific from 1943-1946 as a coxswain He was also a member of Electrician's Union, Local 3081 and AARP.
He enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, working on cars, and being an "inventor".
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Magrea "Madge" Gilmore, whom he married May 9, 1947; four children Theresa (Jimmy Carter) Clark of Los Angeles, California, Sherry (Lawrence) Faulk of Alliance, Ohio, Donnie (Beth) Cooley of North Kingsville, and Debra (Michael) Wofford of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Michael Wofford Jr., Callyn Cooley, Jordyn Cooley, Shannon Clark, Earl Clark, Brooks (J.R.) Clark and Justin Carter; four step grandchildren; Lawrence Faulk II, Maria Faulk, Fionna Faulk and Tranika Cruz; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his parents.
A service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Supt. David Howard, Jr. and Elder Steven Sargent of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ will officiate.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
Calling hours will be at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 to 11a.m.
HENRY L. BERNARDO
ASHTABULA -- Henry Louis Bernardo, age 95, of Ashtabula, died the evening of December 21, 2005, at his residence.
He was born October 18, 1910, in Ashtabula, the son of Louis and Josephine (DeFonse) Bernardo, and has been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
Mr. Bernardo married Helen Palmer on July 23, 1949, in Painesville, OH, and was married for almost 49 years before Helen passed away on May 11, 1998.
He was employed by the City of Ashtabula from January 10, 1944, until he retired as the Superintendent of Public Works, July 1, 1977.
Mr. Bernardo was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and served in the United States Army in 1943.
Mr. Bernardo was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and he enjoyed landscaping, woodworking, carpentry, he was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra (Douglas) Hanna of Ashtabula and Kay (Richard) Hall of Arizona; sisters, Marge Stefanelli of Ashtabula and Ann Billy of Florida; grandchildren, Mark and Todd Hanna of Ashtabula, Jeffrey, Craig and Randall Nelson, Michael Adams, Cynthia Kirk and Tracy Kelly; seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bernardo was preceded in death by both his mother and father; wife, Ellen (Palmer); son, Vincent Nelson; brothers, Angelo and Peter; sisters Alvera DeChurch, Elizabeth Mauro, Lena Narducci, Grace Noce and Delores White.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 11:30 a.m., to 1:30 p.m., at the BURTON FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula.
Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Fr. Joseph Puggieri, of Mount Carmel Church will officiate.
Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities, Masses or a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Burton Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of arrangements.
FRANCIS R. WILSON
ASHTABULA - Francis Richard Wilson, age 78, of Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Park Haven.
He was born June 3, 1927, in Ashtabula, the son of Francis D. and Wilhelmina (Bittner) Wilson, and had been a lifelong resident.
Prior to his retirement, he worked his entire life at the Ashtabula Bow Socket after graduating high school.
A member of St. Joseph Church and an avid bowler, he also enjoyed taking walks.
His survivors include one sister, Rosella "Posie" (Charles) Traver of Venice, FL; two nephews, Charles and William Traver; and one niece, Gayle Traver.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2005, at St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula. Reverend Father Philip Miller, Pastor, will preside. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Friends may gather to visit at the Murphy Center, 3312 Lake Avenue, next to St. Joseph Church, after the Mass from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday to share memories of his life.
Contributions may be made to the Ashtabula Senior Center.

URHO I. NURKKA
ASHTABULA -- Urho I. Nurkka, age 75, of Ashtabula, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at his residence.
He was born April 11, 1930, in Finland, the son of Juho and Sussana Nurkka.
Urho had come to the U.S. in 1952, becoming an American citizen in 1955. Urho had served in the Finnish military. He worked as a machinist for Diamond Alkali in Fairport and Rockwell Brake Plant in Ashtabula. He was married on November 5, 1955, and celebrated 50 years of marriage. He enjoyed cross-country skiing and doing yardwork.
He is survived by his wife, Hellevi (Pahkakangas); son, Roy (Lisa) of Ashtabula; daughter, Liisa (Dan) Kalinowski of Plymouth Twp.; grandson, Jacob; brothers, Juho, Seppo and Pentti of Finland; and sisters, Annikki and Aila of Finland.
Urho was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Aura; and brothers, Heimo and Martti.
Funeral Service will be 8 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2005, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Rev. D. Thomas Ford of the Bethany Lutheran Church will officiate. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Committal service and burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005, in Edgewood Cemetery.
MARGARET J. BOOTH
BUCKEYE, AZ -- Margaret Joan Booth, age 66, of Buckeye, AZ, and formerly of Ashtabula, died suddenly Saturday, August 20, 2005, at her home.
Born August 7, 1939, in Ashtabula, OH, she was a daughter of Charles and Edith Loftus and graduated from Ashtabula High School.
In Ashtabula, she married James A. Booth in 1960. He worked as a printer and Margaret worked at the local hospital as a transcriptinist. The family moved to Arizona in 1970, where they lived for many years before Mr. Booth passed away in 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Leyvas of Buckeye and Pam Chapman of OH; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Betty Hornyak and Linda Salanci, both of Ashtabula, Ida Mae Carroll of Phoenix, AZ, and Patsy Miller of Douglas, AZ.
Private funeral arrangements are pending at GANLEY'S BUCKEYE FUNERAL HOME, 104 East Baseline Road, Buckeye, AZ 85326.
Teresa M. Perry

Teresa M. Perry, 49 of Ashtabula died Saturday (Oct. 8th) at The Hospice House in Euclid, Ohio. She was born August 4, 1962 in Erie, Pa. the daughter of Roger H. and Sarah J. (Gary) Perry.
She had worked for International Paper in Ashtabula until her retirement due ill health. Prior to working for International Paper she had been a Medical Assistant.
She enjoyed gardening, going to parks and spending time with children.
Surviving her is a daughter Amber Trenn of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Penny (Gene Burdick, Jr. ) Perry of Euclid, Julie Perry of North Carolina and three brothers, Wayne (Jennifer) Perry of Florida, Barron (Shelly) Perry of Pennsylvania and Vincent Perry of Madison, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (Oct. 12th) from 5 to 7 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula. At her request there will be no service. .
