John R. Overly
ANDOVER - John R. Overly, 59, of 166 Gates St., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born April 9, 1942 in Wilkinsburg, Pa., to Owen D. and Virginia M. (Currie) Overly. He married Carol M. Wallace July 11, 1964. He was a lifetime Andover resident.
Mr. Overly attended Andover High School and graduated from Carson Long Military Institute in Carlisle, Pa.
He was Andover Village administrator for eight years. He served five years active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era and 28 years in the Air Force Reserve's 910 Air Life Wing, retiring this year as command chief master sergeant . He was employed more than 25 years with the Ashtabula County Sanitation Department and operated the Hollday Campland water and sewerage facility more than 30 years.
Mr. Overly was a member of Andover Village Council. He was also part of the board of the Ashtabula County Veterans' Service Commission, the Ashtabula County Planning Commission, the Bronzewood Golf Club, Kinsman; the First Congregational Church of Andover, Air Force Sergeant Association, Washington, D.C.; and Chief's Group, Youngstown. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4035, Andover; and the Andover Christmas committee and was a member and past commander of Percy D. Hyatt Post 226 American Legion, Andover.
Survivors include his wife; daughters Jackie L. Plizga of North Bloomfield and Julie K. Romanowski of Andover; parents Owen and Virginia Overly of Ocala, Fla.; brothers Dale O. Overly of Johnston Township and Mike L. Overly of Andover; sister Becky J. Stevenson of Andover; and grandchildren Brandy L. and Casey R. Romanowski of Andover and Tyler J. Plizga of North Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by brother Charles David Overly and grandson Taylor Jay Plizga.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, officiated by the Rev. Scott A. Ressman. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Maybelle R. Geyer
ANDOVER - Maybelle R. Geyer, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Jefferson Geriatric Center, Jefferson.
She was born Sept. 9, 1917 in New Lyme, the daughter of Willy W. and Ellen (Ryden) Woodruff.
Mrs. Geyer was a 1936 graduate of Orwell High School, a member of the Covered Bridge Chapter 591, Order of Eastern Star, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, country music, gardening, playing bingo and helping her neighbors.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Harper of Englishtown, N.J.; a sister, Arlene Ruetenic of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Harper, Jenny Himmelman and Judy Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert F. Geyer Sr., in 1982; her son, Robert F. Geyer Jr., in 1994; eight sisters and brothers; and eight half sisters and brothers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, with the Rev. Meredith Coleman of Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m., until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Richard D. Killian
ANDOVER - Richard D. Killian, 64, of Apache Road, Andover, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at his home.
He was born on November 27, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA. He married Carlene (Hokanson) on May 10, 1975.
Formerly of Lyndhurst, he had lived in Andover since 1994. He was a machinist at Welded Tube in Orwell for over seven years. He also worked for various companies as a drapery installer for many years.
He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and Holiday Camplands Safety Forces. He enjoyed motorcycling.
Survivors include his wife; three step-daughters, Cheryl (Earl) Huffman, Terri (Richard) Greene, and Cherri (Stuart) Jones; one step-son, Ted Quercioli; ten grandchildren; and a special friend, Ken Wisnewski.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL HOME, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, OH 44003, are handling the arrangements.
Mary P. Smith
ANDOVER - Mary P. Smith, 84, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Miller Memorial Health Care Center, Andover.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Andover to Charles E. and LuVerne (Granger) Parker.
Formerly of State College, Pa., she had lived in Andover since 1961.
She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Andover, the Covered Bridge Chapter Order of Eastern Star 591, and the Mystery Club.
Survivors include two sons, Larry E. and William C. of Andover; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M., whom she married on June 19, 1937; her parents; and a brother, Emerson Parker.
Service is 2 p.m. Monday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, with the Rev. Scott Ressman officiating. Burial will be in West Andover Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

Marjorie A. Hoagland
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP - Marjorie A. Hoagland, 62, of Belden Road, Andover Township, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at St. Joseph Health Center, Warren.
Born Jan. 24, 1939, she was the daughter of John W. and Mildred (Sisley) Kyle. She married Ronald L. Hoagland on Aug. 26, 1966.
A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Hoagland was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband and a sister, Correna Spieth of Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Gladys Hillier, Pearl Yakubec and Alzada Walters; and a brother, John W. Kyle, Jr.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mary Lou Naughton
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP - Mary Lou Naughton, 69, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at her daughter's home in Chester Township.
Mrs. Naughton was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Moundsville, W.Va., the daughter of Joseph and Leona McNabb. She had lived in Kirtland for 60 years before moving to Andover Township six years ago.
She was a member of Kirtland Community of Christ Church and was a foster mother to 18 children. She played the piano and organ, was an avid reader and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Lynn H.; three daughters, Melynda Slenker of Elizabethtown, Ky., Laura Olson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Connie Fox of Chester Township; a son, Chris of Andover; seven grandchildren, Tera, Michelle, Matthew, Nathan, Justin, Ryan and Kristin; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Richard McNabb of Fairport Harbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred McNabb; and a sister, Pauline Chapman.
Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis Trust 100 Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, with the Rev. Larry Masek and Joseph Masek of Kirtland Community of Christ Church officiating. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
