John R. Lazenby Sr.
ANDOVER - John R. Lazenby Sr., 80, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Andover Village Retirement Community.
He was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Akron, the son of Ephraim and Elizabeth (Hitchcock) Lazenby.
A longtime Andover resident, Mr. Lazenby was a 1940 graduate of Ellet High School in Akron. He was employed by Rockwell Plastics in Ashtabula for 30 years as maintenance personnel, retiring in 1984. He also was employed by New York Central Railroad for 10 years as an operator.
Mr. Lazenby served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning a Purple Heart and two bronze stars.
His memberships included: life member of the Percy D. Hyatt Post #226 American Legion, Andover; VFW Post #9519, Andover; Disabled American Veterans; Andover First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years; member and past master of Masonic Lodge, Rock Creek; member and past patron of the Order of Eastern Star; and 32nd Degree Mason. He also was a member of Andover Village Council from 1956-72. His hobbies included reading and fishing.
Mr. Lazenby married Nancy (Hall) May 21, 1947.
Survivors include his wife; son, John R. Lazenby Jr. of Atlanta; daughter, Debra E. Constantine of Mentor; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and James Lazenby.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover. The Rev. Jeffrey Stoll will officiate.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 207, Andover, 44003.

Catherine R. Brainard
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP- Catherine Rose Brainard, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at her home.
Born March 6, 1919, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of George and Almira Glee (Linton) Dougherty and had been a resident for three years.
Mrs. Brainard was a salesperson at several Cleveland Area Sears & Roebuck Department Stores in the hardware and automotive departments. She also worked at Rayon in Painesville. She retired in 1981.
She was a riveter during World War II working for the war effort building airplanes.
She enjoyed reading. She was a good athlete and loved to play women's baseball and always wanted to play on a women's league.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Morris of Painesville, Nancy Cannon of Tullahoma, Tenn., Susan Gardy, Andover; two sisters, Lois Rodville of Wickliffe, Almira Digiacomantonio of Mayfield Heights; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R.; her parents; a brother, James Dougherty; and a granddaughter, Beverly Sinclair.
Service is 10 a.m., Monday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with friends and family officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Township.

Winifred B. Coakwell
ANDOVER - Winifred B. Coakwell, 87, of Beach Street, Andover, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Andover.
She was born Sept. 17, 1913, in Cleveland, the daughter of James and Hattie Bagaria.
Mrs. Coakwell was an Andover resident since 1942. She was employed as a secretary for the Pymatuning Valley High School, retiring in 1968.
She was a member and past deaconess of the First Congregational Church of Andover, the former Chapter 54, Order of Eastern Star, the Mardi Club, the Mystery Club and PTA.
Mrs. Coakwell attended classes at the Ashtabula Branch of Kent State University specializing in the arts and painting, She became well known in this area for her ability in oils and acrylic painting.
She wintered for many years in Texas and later in Florida.
Survivors include four sons, Charles A. Coakwell, III 0f Seffmer. Fla., J. Brian C. Coawell of Eustie, Fla., McConnell A. Coawell of Reno, Nev., Robert L. Coakwell of Racine, Wis., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Coakwell was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles A. Coakwell Jr. in 1986, and two brothers, James C. and William Bagaria.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The First Congregational Church of Andover, 170 E. Main St., Andover.

Thelma V. Livingston
ANDOVER - Thelma V. Livingston, 88, of Lakeview Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 21, 1915, in Cleveland, the daughter of Howard and Virginia (Miller) Rahm.
Mrs. Livingston had been a longtime area resident.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, writing letter to her pen pals and her grandchildren.
She married her first husband, Ralph Dotterweich in December 1940. She married her second husband, Ray Livingston in June 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Roger W. Dotterweich of Andover and Roy E. Dotterweich of Tiffin; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband in June 1960; her second husband in June 1968; two sons, Ralphie and Charles Dotterweich; a granddaughter, April Dotterweich; two grandsons, Parish and Matthew Dotterweich; three brothers; and three sisters.
A private service will be held at the convience of the family.
Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, has charge of the arrangements.

Marion Rullo
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP - Marion Rullo, 40, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, as a result of a single car crash.
She was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Weiterstadt, Germany, the daughter of Herta Kraus.
Mrs. Rullo, formerly of Cleveland had lived in the area since 1985.
She married Raymond D. Rullo on April 15, 1977.
She was a homemaker and farmer, raising and selling chickens, as well as raising goats and making and selling goat cheese.
Mrs. Rullo homeschooled her children, since her life revolved around both family and farming.
Survivors include her husband and two daughters, Gina and Kate, of Andover.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Service is 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, with the Rev. Jeffrey W. Stoll officiating.
No calling hours will be observed

Clare A. Lahiff
ANDOVER - Clare A. Lahiff, 73, formerly of Elyria, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
She was born June 13, 1929 in Elyria, daughter of Harry and Isabel (McMillan) Kaiser. She lived in Grafton and Elyria, then moved to Andover in 1989.
Mrs. Lahiff was a member of Our Lady of Victory in Andover and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was employed for 10 years in sales with Gulf Cart Supply in Andover.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Aldridge of Elyria, Dorothy Noyes of Oklahoma, Marsha Clark of Lorain and Clare Scyoc of Wellington; a son, David Lahiff of Cleveland; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Lahiff in 1999; sons, Tim and Mark; grandsons, Ronnie Pritt and John Schnur; her parents; and a brother, John Kaiser.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Laubenthal - DeCarlo Funeral Home, 257 Washington Ave., Elyria. Services will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton.
