Rogene Dolan
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP - Rogene Hill Dolan, 87, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in the hospice unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1915, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Henry Raymond and Grace Adele (Webb) Hill. She had been an Ashtabula County resident all of her life, living in the Andover area most of that time.
She married Theron W. Dolan on July 27, 1947, in West Andover.
Mrs. Dolan was a retired clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. She also was a photographer who did pin-up shots of servicemen's wives during World War II.
She taught art classes and co-owned and operated Ro-Mar Ceramics at her home. Mrs. Dolan was a cook for Camp Stigwandish Boy Scout Camp in Madison, a librarian for the Andover Library and worked several years at General Electric Bulb Plant in Andover.
She was a member of the West Andover Mystery Club, the Andover Mardi Club, a bridge club and enjoyed gardening, reading and playing cards.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana S. Jackson of Geneva, Wanda J. Voelker of Andover and Peggy C. Mallory of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Karla J. Dine, Randall S. Jackson, Stephenie A. Carlson, Suzanne M. Crowe, Daniel T. Mallory, Sarah C. Mallory and Katherine R. Mallory; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1959; brother, William W. Hill; and a sister, Marjorie E. Vickery.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Nicole C. Kirk of the East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church officiating.
Burial of ashes will follow in West Andover Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edna E. Beres
ANDOVER - Edna E. Beres, 78, of South Main Street, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Andover Village Retirement Community.
She was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Conneaut, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Westfall) Feather and had lived in Andover since 1996, coming from Conneautville, Pa.
She married Joseph H. Beres in 1940.
A homemaker, she enjoyed reading and watching television.
Survivors include a daughter, MaryAnn Smith of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; two sons, Joseph H. Jr. of Geneva, and John W. of Waterford, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Stephanie, Scott, Randy, Joseph, Christina and Rachel.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, her parents, and a brother, and sister.
Service is 1 p.m. Friday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery, Jamestown, Pa.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Esther B. Loffman
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Esther Bernice Loffman, 85, formerly of West Avenue, Ashtabula, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at her home in Phoenix.
She was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Harlan and Erma (Redmond) Johnson, and had been an Ashtabula resident for 77 years before moving to Phoenix in 1993.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for Reliance Electric.
Mrs. Loffman's life centered around her family, her children, and her active social life. She was a member of Calvin Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Phoenix, and a longtime member of Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church, Ashtabula.
She was an avid bridge player, bowler, and reader, from the daily newspaper to a constant stream of novels, but her family mattered most and she will always be remembered as a loving and caring mom, grandma, and "Nana."
Survivors include four sons, Laurence D. of Strongsville, Kenneth W. of Phoenix, F. Harlan of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jon L. of Kinnelon, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leslie, on Aug. 13, 1989; two brothers, Floyd and Clifford Johnson; and her parents.
Service is 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5807 Adams Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Diane Walker officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.

Albert R. Ballard
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Albert R. Ballard, 73, formerly of Ashtabula, died May 23, 2001, at the Pecos Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chandler, Ariz.
He was employed by the Firch Baking Co. from 1959-84. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
A 1946 graduate of Ames High School in Ames, Iowa, Mr. Ballard was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding athletic accomplishments in baseball, track, football and basketball.
He was a great fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and was known for his team decorations at his home and later at the Pecos Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Alice J. (Cassano) Ballard; son, Matthew J. Ballard, both of Peoria, Ariz.; and daughter, Julie A. (Ballard) Hyndford of Linesville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola (Auld) and Frank Ballard.
Private services were held in Sun City, Ariz.
Irene H. Harper

ANDOVER - Irene Helen Harper, age 90, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Andover Village Retirement Community.
She was born June 15, 1917, in Kenmore, Ohio, to Andrew and Julia (Huth) Lash.
A long-time Andover resident, Mrs. Harper was employed as a grocery clerk at Stop N' Shop and Bowdler's Market in Andover. More recently, she worked for McDonald's in Andover.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Andover; and a member of the former Order of the Eastern Star #54, Floral Chapter, Andover. Mrs. Harper enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading.
Mrs. Harper married her first husband, Wilburn H. Marr, on Nov. 23, 1940. He died in Feb. 1963. She married her second husband, William H. Harper, on Nov. 22, 1964, and he died in Nov. 1978. Also preceding her in death are her parents and one brother, Fred Lash.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy J. (Dave) Thompson of Andover, Ohio, and Suzanne M. (Greg) Lynn of Pierpont, Ohio; one sister, Esther Pallant of Escondido, Calif.; two grandchildren, Doug (Stacey) Thompson of Honeybrook, Pa., and Angie (Scott) Vyner of Springfield, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Vyner, and Kelsey and Kendal Thompson.
A Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

ANDOVER - Richard E. DiBell, age 74, died on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, following an extended illness.
He was born on June 6, 1933 in Gustavus, Ohio, the son of Paul and Ethel (Goff) DiBell. "Dick" was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson High School. He married Letha A. Cochran on Jan. 10, 1953.
"Dick" was an Over-the-Road truck driver for several companies and retired in 1991.
Formerly a member of the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing baseball.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Letha A. DiBell of Andover, Ohio; a daughter, Cheryl A. (Randy) Schulz of Ripley, Tenn.; five sons, Richard P. (Janice) DiBell of Ripley, Tenn., Wayne H. DiBell of Andover, Ohio, Timothy L. DiBell of Conneaut, Ohio, Daniel F. (Stacy) DiBell of Howland, Ohio, and Joseph N. (DeAnna) DiBell of Andover, Ohio; two sisters, Arlene Vlock and Mildred Dresnek, both of Williamsfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, Shawn, Angel, Jamie, Richard, Heather, Keith, Cory, Clinton, Brandon, Zachary, Eric, Alex, Gerald and Jennifer; and 10 great-grandchildren.
"Dick" is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and sister; eight brothers, twins, Edwin and Elwin, Floyd, Robert, Paul, Neil, and Kenneth DiBell; and two sisters, Kathrine Lane and Shirley Simon.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Buck Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

ANDOVER - Debora L. (Becvar) Kobylinski, 48, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at her home.

Abbott, Wanda
ANDOVER – Wanda Lee (Dearing) Abbott, 73, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road, died at home Thursday, September 1, 2005. She was born August 2, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Earl Palmer and Alice Edna Dearing. She was part of the Jefferson Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Wanda loved being outdoors, gardening and working with her hands. Her family was very important to her as were her friends. She did private home health care before going to work at Miller Memorial Health Care Center where she worked for 21 years as a nurse’s aide, an aid in the therapy department, and as a R.S.A. before retiring in 2003.
She is survived by her husband Harry; four sons, Gary (Jeanette) of New York, Kenneth (Joan) of Colorado, Ron (Corrinne) of Florida, Mark (Linda) of North Carolina; one daughter, Sarah ( Shawn) Allds with whom she resided; eight grandchildren, Isaiah & Jerod of Colorado, Jerimy, Jenifer & Jaclynn of Florida, Amanda of North Carolina, Garrison & Daniel at home; five great-grandchildren, Colleen, Russel & Colton of Colorado, Chase of Florida and Alex & Alicia of North Carolina; one brother, Norrel (Barb) Dearing of Austinburg; three sisters, Dorothy Abbott of Jefferson, Nadine (Murrel) Hounshel of Florida and Carol Jean Evans of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Melva Christine Abbott; a nephew, Kim Inman; and a great-niece, Michelle Dearing.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 3, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the Jefferson Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving care.
