Zachary M. Woodburn
HOUMA, La. - Zachary Matthew Woodburn, 2, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at 4:30 p.m.
Religious services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2003, at the Samart Funeral Home in Houma.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Woodburn Williams of Houma; his grandparents, Greg and Cindy Woodburn of Ashtabula, and Victor and Patti Kaikko of Houma; one uncle, Matthew Woodburn of Florida; two great-aunts, Sherri Parr and Francie Parr of Houma; one aunt, Aimie Brown of Ashtabula; and his great-grandfather Ernest J. Parr of Houma.
He was preceded in death by one uncle, Samuel Merl Woodburn.
He was Christian.
Samart Funeral Home, of Houma, was in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie A. Johnson
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Marjorie A. Johnson, 79, of Center Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 26, 1923 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Carl and Ethel (Engle) Anderson and has been a resident of Saybrook Township for most of her life.
She was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed crafts, playing cards, traveling with her husband, bowling and family. She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader in her earlier years.
Survivors include her husband, Emmett Johnson of Saybrook Township, whom she married Aug. 27, 1943 in Ashtabula; three children, Arnold A. Johnson of Heath, Judi Simms and Diane A. Bogar, both of Ashtabula; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Anderson of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Viola Horst.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, in the Prospect Presbyterian Church, 1342 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with lay pastor Bill Daywalt of the church officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
No calling hours will take place at Mrs. Johnson's request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
Envelopes will be available at the church.
Childs & Williams Family Funeral Home, 1440 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula is handling arrangements.

Mary J. Amsbary
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Mary Jane Salmen Amsbary, 76, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born March 25, 2001, in Kent, the daughter of Jay S. and Irene (Andersen) Taylor and had been an Ashtabula area resident most of her life. She was a swimming instructor at the Ashtabula County YMCA.
She was a member of the Second Congregational United Church of Christ and a member of the Ashtabula County Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a gold medal winning competitive swimmer, a member of the Ohio Master's Swimmers, and a volunteer at the YMCA.
Mrs. Amsbary loved to cross country ski, read, travel and loved her cats. She also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include a son, David Salmen of Deerfield; two daughters, Diana Randolph of Kingsville Township and Susan Esh of Columbus; two sisters, Marge Shaw of Mentor and Lucille Roberts of Ashtabula; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kousaie of Kent, Kristi Randolph of Kingsville Township, Jon Salmen of Dover and Amy and Matthew Esh of Columbus and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Salmen, on Jan. 15, 1975, and her second husband, Gordon Amsbary, on Feb. 19, 1998, and her sister, Frances Amsbary.
Services is noon Nov. 24, at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Rev. David Sommer officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of service Nov. 24 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the aquatic department of the Ashtabula County YMCA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Charles H. Fowler
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Charles H. Fowler, 90, of Carpenter Road, Saybrook Township, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at the Hospice Unit at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Geneva, the son of Daniel and Sarah Ann (Thackwell) Fowler, and had been a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1932 graduate of Ashtabula High School, and during World War II served with the Army in Africa, Italy and Europe.
He was a clerk with the postal service until retirement in 1971. He also sold Hi Lights books and Successful Living books.
He was a member of the National Retired Postal Workers Association, the Saybrook Grange, the Genelogical Society and the Peniel Holiness Church Camp in Conneautville, Pa.
His hobbies included trains.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lois Krieg, whom he married Aug. 19, 1961; two sons, William of Geneva, and Roland of Jackson, Ky.; two daughters, Charlene Hopkins of Geneva, and Cheryl McLaren of Ashtabula; eight grandchildren, Julie Ann, Sherrin, Richard, Tabitha, Caleb, Elijah, Tiffany and Ryan; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Georgianna, in 1960.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ashtabula First Church of the Nazarene, 1820 S. Ridge West, Ashtabula. The revs. Michael Legg and Donis Williams, will officiate. Burial will be at Saybrook Township Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashtabula First Church of the Nazarene, or Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Mary A. Taddeo
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Mary A. Taddeo, 81, of Saybrook Township, died Monday, April 16, 2001, in the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Nov. 9, 1919, in Conneaut, she was the daughter of Joseph and Carmella (Narducci) Colangelo.
She married Nicholas Taddeo at St. Mary's Church in Conneaut June 27, 1942.
Mrs. Taddeo was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and retired from Hills Department Store.
She was active in the church and Sunday school.
Mrs. Taddeo enjoyed bingo and baseball.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Kozel of Ashtabula, Dian Chadwick of North Kingsville and Nikki Williamson of Ashtabula; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Colucci of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Michael and Louis; one sister, Dena Bartone; and two younger brothers.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saybrook Fire Department.

Jean Ann May
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Jean Ann May, 75, a resident of Saybrook Township, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Georgetown University Hospital of Washington, D.C.
Born July 12, 1927, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Samuel and Anna (Peterangelo) Zappa.
She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1945. She worked for the Ashtabula Telephone Co., was an office manager for Prudential Insurance, and was employed by the former True Temper. In 1979, she was forced to retire after suffering a cerebral aneurysm.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed her grandchildren, and playing golf in her younger years.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Cresto; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ivonne, of McLean, VA; and grandchildren, Michelle Christine and Christopher Michael May.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Pauline Pavolino and Gloria Arcaro.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, on Thursday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Christine Agnes Parmigian
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Christine Agnes Parmigian, 91, a Saybrook Township resident, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
Born on June 1, 1912 in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Michael and Rose (Morell) May. She attended the Ashtabula Public Schools and was proud to have received an excellent handwriting award.
Mrs. Parmigian was proprietor of Parmigian and Sons Grocery, which sold famous homemade sausage for years. A seamstress, she was also a meat-cutter for several local establishments, and a volunteer gray lady for Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, The Altar and Rosary Society of the Church, the former St. Theresa Society, The Anita Garibaldi Lodge, The Ashtabula County Democratic Ladies, and former Mom and Dad's Club of Mount Carmel Parish School.
In 2002 she celebrated her 90th birthday with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, playing Bocci, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cheering for the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Donna) of Saybrook; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Parmigian of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Kelly J., Guy L., Michael P., and Krista D. Parmigian; one brother, Cresto May of Washington, D.C.; and a sister, Donna Scoville of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy C.; a son, Samuel G.; three brothers, Arnold, John, and Michael May; and four sisters, Dorothy May, Nettie May, Antoinette Campagne, and Mary Larson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2003 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1200 East 21st Street, Ashtabula, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday (today), July 20, 2003 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 West 19th Street, Ashtabula. The Ladies of the Anita Garibaldi Lodge will conduct services at 5:30 p.m.
