Daniel L. Scott Sr.
CONNEAUT - Daniel L. Scott Sr., 86, of Conneaut, died Saturday at the Villa at the Lake.
He was born June 28, 1914, East Springfield, Pa, the son of Charles and Ethel Scott.
Mr. Scott was employed for 37 years as an electrician at the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Co. He had also worked at one time for Burke Machine and Tool in Ashtabula. In recent years he wintered in California.
He was a member of Conneaut Church of God and the Moose Club.
He enjoyed playing his harmonica, organ, avid fisherman, repairing and building clocks and lawnmowers. He also played buttonbox and square and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include daughter; Myrna Theofanis of Granada Hills, Ca, son; Dan L. Jr., of New Carlisle, two sisters; Mae Bruback of Geneva, Adelaide White of Aviedo, Fla, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine in 1998, three brothers; Clifford, Glen and Guy, a half-brother; Homer, two sisters; Esther Hutchinson and Freda Hiller and a half-sister; Dorothy Thornton.
Services is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond L. Lamb of the Church of God officiating.
Burial will be at East Conneaut Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Church of God. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Irene L. Pyle
CONNEAUT - Irene L. Pyle, 63, or Clark Street, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at UHHS Brown Memorial, Conneaut.
She was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Conneaut, the daughter of Leonard E. and Mildred (Smith) Thompson. She was a lifelong Conneaut resident. She married Joseph E. of Conneaut on May 27, 1955.
Mrs. Pyle was a 1955 Conneaut High School graduate, and at one time had worked as a tanner for the Conneaut Leather Co.
She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Tammy J. Mondy and Kimberly A Griggs, both of Conneaut, Jody L. Bruno of Littleton, Colo., and Terri S. Russell of Puyallup, Wash.; two sons, Michael J. and Mark D. Pyle, both of Conneaut; four sisters, Joyce Rangel of Conneaut, Marlene Laituri of Columbus, Sandra Harrington of Sanford, N.C., and Delores Williams of Erie; two brothers, Leonard Thompson, Jr. of Girard, Pa., and Larry Thompson of Erie; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Milton Thompson; and a sister, Janet Douglas.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. The Rev. David Miller, pastor of the Lakeview United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George C. Maynard
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Rev. George C. Maynard, 70, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, of a heart attack at Samaritan Hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1930 in Ashtabula, the son of George C. and Lena (Campagne) Maynard. Formerly of Ashtabula, he has lived in Lexington since 1973.
Rev. Maynard received a doctorate of ministry from the Andover Theological Seminary in Newton, Mass. He has served as Chief of Chaplain of Veterans Services, Administrations Hospital in Lexington and as priest of the Society of Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Our lady of Mount Carmel Church, Ashtabula, at a later date.
Gordon E. Clark
ATLANTA, Ga. - Gordon E. Clark, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at Hospice Atlanta.
Born Nov. 13, 1918, in Ashtabula, he was a son of Frank Jay and Lucy May (Terrill) Clark.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a first lieutenant with the 9th Bombardment Group. He served as a radar navigator about the B-29 "Purple Heartless" based on the island of Tinian.
In 1949, he married Mabele M. Randall in Ashtabula.
Mr. Clark was employed by AT&T, moving to Atlanta in 1963, retiring after 38 years of service.
Survivors include three daughters: Sharon C. Perry of Atlanta, Kay C. Langerman of Alpharetta, Ga., and Joan C. Adair of Statesboro, Ga.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Neil F. of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992 and his parents.
Mr. Clark was buried in Atlanta.
John Holcomb
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - John Holcomb, 63, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas.
Born Jan. 12, 1937, in Ashtabula, he had been a Las Vegas resident for 38 years.
Mr. Holcomb was the retired owner of his own construction business. He also worked as the 21 floorman at Ceasers Palace for 18 years.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 631, Holy Name Catholic Church and Eagles Aerie 1213.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; a son, Johnny Holcomb-Stombaugh of Las Vegas; four daughters: Sheryl Bailey of Kallispell, Mont., Christie Holman of Cedar Springs, Mich., Lynn Rosenau of Las Vegas and Tamara Westberry of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters: Jean Smith and Marilyn Rodriquez of Plymouth Township, and Joyce Green and Beverly Mayle of Ashtabula; and five brothers: Leonard of Jefferson, Albert of Dorset Township, and David, Richard and Clifford of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary-Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nev.
Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Harry D. "Pete" Bowman
COLUMBUS, Ind. - Former Ashtabula County resident Harry D. "Pete" Bowman, 58, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at his home.
Born May 16, 1942, in Youngstown, he was the son of Harry and Florence (Evans) Bowman and had lived for a time in Pierpont Township.
Mr. Bowman was employed at Rightway Fasteners Inc., Columbus. He also worked for a time at Emco Wheaton, Conneaut, and at Andover Industries, Andover.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Judy K. (Bryant); two sons: David and Scott of Greenville, Pa.; a daughter, Diane Bowman Harmon of Pierpont Township; a stepson, Richard Howard Chamberland Jr.; three brothers: Ted, Herbert and Christopher Jones, all of Florida; and three sisters: Florence Shaffer of Columbus, Ind., Beverly Stevens of Ohio and Kimberly Contryman of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service was held Sunday in Columbus, Ind.
Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home, Columbus, Ind., was in charge of the arrangements.
Armandus H. Gustaferro
GLENVIEW, IL - Armand H. Gustaferro, 79, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, in Glenview, IL.
Born July 6, 1924, in Conneaut, he was a 1941 graduate of Conneaut High School and did his undergraduate studies at Ohio State University and graduate studies at Yale University.
He was a Veteran of WWII U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was the beloved husband of Mildred; and loving brother of Louise Candela, Julia Napoli, Joanne Kapsansis, William Gustaferro, and the late Mamie Lignetta, Clara DiMare, Elma Byrd, and Joseph Gustaferro. He is also survived by a daughter, Carol Van Tine.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at N.H. SCOTT & HEBBLETHWAITE FUNERAL HOME, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, IL (2 Blocks South of Lake Avenue on West side). Interment will be private.
