H. Walter Kimmy
CONNEAUT - H. Walter Kimmy, 74, of State St., Conneaut, died Friday morning, May 30, 2003, at Inn-Conneaut Health Center.
Born on July 13, 1928 in Albion, PA, he was the son of Hiram Leslie and Grace Elvy (Steindorf) Kimmy.
Mr. Kimmy served in the Korean War with the 504th Airborne Division, and was awarded the Purple Heart of Honor.
He was a teamster truck driver for many years, a candy maker at Pulakos Candies in Erie, PA, and retired in 1993 from Gunnison Brothers Tannery in Girard, PA, where he was a hide polisher. He was a member of the Optimist Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. (Bouck) Kimmy whom he married February 24, 1968; two daughters, Gloria Humphreys and husband Carl of Conneaut, and Peggy Darty and husband Dave of Cleveland; three sisters, Madeline Sarver, Mary Johnson, and Celeste Bovaird; one brother, James Kimmy; five grandchildren, Tina, Christine, and Ronald Young, Donna Newhart, and Brandon Darty; and nine great grandchildren, Russell Bidwell, Virginia, and Donald Humphreys, Erica, and Joshua Newhart, Trista, and Alexander Read, and Kiersten, and Ryan Young, all of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry Kimmy; and two sisters, Jean Terriberry, and Gertrude Gray.
Graveside service will be 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003 in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, with Paul and Sherry Moore, of the West Park Salvation Army, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut, OH, which has charge of arrangements.

Bess Casey
LEWISTON, NY - Bess Casey, 75, formerly of Conneaut, died expectedly on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Lewiston, NY.
The former Bess Robinson of Ilwaco, WA, married Maurice Casey in May of 1944 and they made their home in Conneaut.
Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Pearl Robinson; her in-laws, Michael Casey and Mary Rose both of Conneaut; and her son, George (Michael) Casey of Murphy, NC, where he died unexpectedly in May 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristeen Cheese of Welland, Ontario; son-in-law, Richard of Welland, Ontario; two grandchildren, Timothy Cox and Michaela Cheese of Welland, Ontario; daughter, Maureen Casey of Columbus; brother, George Robinson; sister-in-law, Noreen Robinson of Ilwaco, WA; brother-in-law, John Casey of Conneaut; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Casey will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She spent the past two years closest to her two grandchildren, whom she enjoyed tremendously.
Mrs. Casey had many interests. She loved the Cleveland Indians, enjoyed reading and crafts and her many friends in Conneaut and her new friends in New York.
She will be missed more than any words can express. I love you Mom, Kris.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewiston Fire Department, c/o Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, which is handling local arrangements.

Charles D. Williams
HARLINGEN, Texas - Charles D. Williams, 84, formerly of Conneaut, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Valley Baptist Memorial Hospital in Texas. He was born Sept. 3, 1918 in Conneaut, the son of Joseph and Mary Williams. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Conneaut High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and held the rank of sergeant and was in the military police.
Mr. Williams lived in Matteson, Ill., for years where he worked as a self-employed painter, decorator and contractor.
In recent years he spent his summers in Conneaut with his wife, Madeline. Mr. Williams enjoyed playing golf and watching sports and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife, whom he had been married for 60 years; three sisters, Sue Vandetti of Dunkirk, N.Y., Lucy Hultgren of Erie, Pa. and Katherine Ille of Conneaut; and a brother, Paul of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Tony, John, Rocco, James and Nick Williams. Cremation took place in Harlingen, Texas. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Lois I. Lounsbury
SARASOTA, Fla. - Lois Irene Lounsbury, 63, formerly of Ashtabula, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at her Sarasota home.
She was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Henry and Marion (Wood) Lindberg and lived in Florida the past 17 years.
A graduate of Ashtabula High School, she worked as an office manager for 33 Flavors of Florida Ice Cream and Jung Charter and Yacht Sales.
Mrs. Lounsbury spent many years caring for her mother-in-law and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Fla., where she served as an usher.
Survivors include her husband, William J.; a brother, James Lindberg of Roaming Shores; and a sister, Kathryn Ann Nappi of Sebastian, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Elizabeth Eaton, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Ridgeview Cemetery.
Calling hour at the church is noon Thursday, until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite Hospice or to the Messiah Lutheran Church Foundation, 615 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, 44004.
Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.

Richard C. Davino
ARROYO GRANDE, CA - Richard C. Davino, 72, of Arroyo Grande, CA, died Friday, August 1, 2003, at his home.
Born June 26, 1931, in Ashtabula, OH, he had resided on the central California coast for 37 years.
He served in the United States Navy for four years and had been a heavy-equipment operator for thirty-five years. He was a member of the Pismo Beach Moose Lodge #1409 and the American Legion #56 in Santa Maria, CA.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, with whom he would have celebrated fifty years of marriage on September 6, 2003; children, Kathy, Larry and Clint; five grandchildren; and sisters, Jackie, Connie, Karen and Janice.
Cremation has taken place, and at his request there will be no service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Partners of The Central Coast, 277 South Street, Suite R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
Arrangements are under the direction of MARSHALL-SPOO SUNSET FUNERAL CHAPEL in Grover Beach, CA.

Walter E. Gulick
TAMPA, Fla. - Walter E. Gulick, 84, formerly of Conneaut, died Jan. 29, 2002, at the University Community Hospital.
Mr. Gulick was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Randolph, N.Y., the son of Herbert E. and Delia Gulick. He had lived in Florida for the past three years after spending most of his life as a Conneaut resident.
He worked for the Gulick Dairy, which was owned by his family for several years, and he was a life insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He retired in 1976.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Evergreen Lodge F & AM No. 222, and the Amboy Rifle Club.
Mr. Gulick was a master woodcarver. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail Ott of Tampa, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Al Ott Jr., Diane Cooper, Nancy Ott and Barbie Ott; and a great-grandson, Brendon Ott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty R.; brother, Robert; and his parents.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Clyde A. McGee officiating.
Interment of his cremated remains will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
The Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., is handling the arrangements.

Therese M. Talarico
CONNEAUT - Therese M. Talarico, 87, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1913, in Cleveland, the daughter of Thomas and Jennie (Sozio) Marano.
She was a 1930 graduate of Central High School in Cleveland, and a graduate of St. Alexis' Hospital School of Nursing. She later worked as a nurse at St. Alexis Hospital.
She was the former owner of the State Line and 6N truck stops, and ­ with her husband, Frank P. ­ owned and operated the former Roundtowner and Ramada Inn (now Days Inn) at Conneaut's Interstate 90 interchange.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Cara Mia Club. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, antiques, book reading, playing Scrabble and attending church.
Survivors include a nephew, Phillip Talarico of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1989; three sisters: Ursula Marano, Mildred Barucky and Tina Marano; and four brothers: George Marano, Nicholas Marano, Louis Marano and Ralph Marano.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Mill Street in Conneaut. The Rev. Raymond Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut. The Catholic Daughters of American will gather at 5 p.m. for prayer services.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church building fund.
