Paul M. Bunnell
CONNEAUT - Paul M. Bunnell, 66, of Broad Street, Conneaut, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at his home.
Born June 28, 1934, in Conneaut, he was a son of the late James Faye and Charlotte (Lewis) Bunnell. He was a lifelong resident of Conneaut.
He graduated from Rowe High School in 1952.
He married Shirley L. Sharp on Oct. 22, 1955.
He was employed at Plasticolors Inc. for a number of years. He was self-employed as an air-conditioning and refrigeration serviceman since 1985.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 408, the Army-Navy Union of Conneaut and the Springfield Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed cooking for friends and family.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lori L. Boyce and Traci L., both of Conneaut; one son, Edward P. of Eastlake; one sister, Doris Greenfield of Conneaut; three brothers, Richard of Conneaut, Clair of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and James E. of East Springfield, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Edward and Amanda Boyce and Zane Bunnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merle.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Bette Rae Edwards
CONNEAUT - Bette Rae Edwards, 59, of 691 Clinton Avenue died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
Born March 22, 1941 in Conneaut, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elizabeth (Abbey) Benson. She was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church, where she had served as custodian for the past several years.
She enjoyed ceramics, reading, flowers and being with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Rae of Conneaut and Vickie Lynn Rodgers of Jefferson; two sons, Robert Scott and Thomas James, Jr., both of Conneaut; five grandchildren, Emily, Ashley and David Rodgers and Nicole Marie and Thomas James Edwards III; one sister, Fran Makay of Lake City, Pa., and two brothers, Tom and John Benson, both of Conneaut.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Edwards, Sr., in April 2000, and a brother, Don Benson.
Service will 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lakeview United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Miller will officiate, assisted by the Revs. Tom Badanjek and Richard Wright.
Internment will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be made in her name to the Lakeview United Methodist Church.
John W. Lyubi
CONNEAUT - John W. Lyubi, 77, of Lake Erie Street, Conneaut, died Saturday, August 16, 2003, at his home.
Born in Conneaut, May 3, 1926, the son of the late John and Jennie (Slivar) Lyubi, he had resided here his entire life. Mr. Lyubi was employed by the City of Conneaut Water Department for several years, and retired as Safety Inspector for the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Co.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, and also served with the U.S. Army. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and especially being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Lemak, to whom he had been married for 52 years; two daughters, Sharon DeNunzio of Conneaut, and Nancy Lyubi-Williams, of Bremerton, WA; 3 grandchildren, Nicole, Joe and Jessica DeNunzio; 4 sisters, Jennie English and Emma Fowler, both of Conneaut, Mildred Pamfiloff of Erie, PA, and Josephine Chilcott of Wyoming; two half-sisters, Louise Bretcher of Wisconsin, and Marie Hannah of Florida.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Anthony, a sister Mary and brother Joseph, both in infancy; and a half-sister, Jean Mares.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made in his name to Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Florence M. Poole
CONNEAUT - Florence M. Poole, 86, died early Monday afternoon at the Inn-Conneaut Health Center, where she had been a resident.
Mrs. Poole was born October 6, 1916, in Dunkirk, NY, the daughter of Walter and Rose (Woollerman) Wolfe. She worked at the former Nickel Plate Railroad during World War II and later at the former Astatic Corporation as an assembler. She retired in the early '90s after working as a housekeeper at St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini Parishes. She worked for Fr. Slavin, Fr. Lukehart, Fr. Oliver and Fr. Gretchko. She loved to do crossword puzzles and reading. Florence was a "care-giver" all her life and always wanted to be a nurse, but she had to raise her family first.
She is survived by one son, Martin Sauerwein; a daughter, Debora Shuart; one sister, Dorothy Cooney, all of Conneaut; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Chad, and Asilyn Shuart.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.K. Poole; brothers, Walter Wolfe and Jimmy Wolfe; sisters, Loretta Walker and Margaret Hancock.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for the convenience of the family.

Mary S. Dodd
CONNEAUT - Mary S. Dodd, 91, died early Sunday morning at Inn-Conneaut Health Center, where she had been a resident.
Mrs. Dodd was born April 2, 1912, in Chat, NV, the daughter of Anthony and Pauline (Narducci) Pizzie. She attended school at St. Mary of Painesville. Mrs. Dodd was a housewife for most of her life, taking care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting, making bedspreads, tablecloths, and afghans. She always enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and family, going to garage sales and especially her "4 o'clock flowers" and her rose bushes. She was a member of St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic churches.
Mary is survived by two sons, Anthony (Sonny) Silvaroli of Hollywood, FL, James Rivers of Warren; four daughters, Teresa Mirando of Conneaut, Rita Russell of Columbus, Gloria Seese of North Kingsville, and Lisa Adams of Conneaut; one brother, Joseph Pizzie of Willoughby Hills; and two sisters-in-law, Steel and Carmella Pizzie; thirty-one grandchildren; and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Anthony Silvaroli, in 1964; her second husband, William Dodd; three brothers, Anthony Pizzie, Michael Pizzie and Carl Pizzie; four great-grandchildren, Michaella Mirando, Toni Marie Seese, Mary Teresa Seese and David Silvaroli.
A Mass of the Christian burial will take place Wednesday, June 18, 12 noon, at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut, with Fr. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
Calling hour will be held Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
HELEN H. COLVER
CONNEAUT - Helen H. Colver, 97, of Conneaut, died Saturday, June 14, 2003. A Celebration of Life for Helen will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2001, at East Conneaut United Methodist Church, 809 Furnace Road, Conneaut, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Complete obituary information will be announced by The Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which is in charge of arrangements.
James L. Carducci
CONNEAUT - James "Bo" L. Carducci, 61, died Thursday, January 16, 2003, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut.
Mr. Carducci was born October 23, 1941, in Conneaut, the son of Michael and Lucy (Chiarelli) Carducci.
He was a 1959 Conneaut High School graduate and worked at the former Kroger grocery store. He later became a firefighter with the city of Conneaut, serving at the old Station 2 in the harbor district and also on Lake Road.
He was employed as a cook at the former Ole Kings Tavern and worked as a car salesman. He recently retired from Golfstyx Manufacturing.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Conneaut Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus Council 627 where he served as Past Grand Knight, Trustee, and Financial Secretary and was a former Faithful Navigator of the Conneaut Assembly and a member of the Fourth Degree Leo J. Kane Assembly.
Mr Carducci was a saxaphone player and enjoyed playing with the Ashtabula Symphonic Band, the Frank Montanaro Band and the Conneaut Community Center. He sang in the church choir and various talent shows. He also belonged to the Warren Federation of Musicians Local 118.
He loved cooking, playing cards, golfing, his coffee clubs and friends.
He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
Survivors include his mother; one son, Timothy of Pierpont; a daughter Lisa of Conneaut; a brother, Michael of Erie, Pa; three grandchildren, Megan and Michael Oulman and Timothy Carducci.
He was preceded in death by his father, in 1984.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Calling are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Fraternal Knights of Columbus services are 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
