Robert Schatz
CONNEAUT - Robert E. Schatz, 78, of Liberty Street, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Villa at the Lake.
Born Jan. 6, 1924, in Conneaut, he was the son of George and Sylvia Schatz, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Schatz was employed for 35 years as a gas control man for Union Carbide, Ashtabula.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
He and his wife enjoyed collecting antiques. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Robertson), to whom he had been married for 53 years; two daughters, Bonnie Allchin of Conneaut and Mary Moore of East Springfield, Pa.; two sons, Robert of New Philadelphia, and John of West Springfield, Pa.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, George of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Alma Schatz, and two sisters.
Memorial service is 1 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Walter Coy, pastor of the United Church of Christ of Conneaut officiating.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Randy R. Williams
CONNEAUT - Randy R. Williams, 41, of Adams Street, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at his home.
He was born Nov. 3, 1960, in Conneaut, the son of Richard B. and Judy (Cool) Williams.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, he was a Conneaut High School graduate and attended Lake Erie Barber School, graduating in 1981.
He owned and operated Randy's Barber Shop, Conneaut for the past 20 years.
Mr. Williams enjoyed body building, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his daughter, family members, and friends.
He was a member of American Legion Cowle Post 151.
Survivors include his mother of Conneaut; his father of North Palm Springs, Calif.; a daughter, Brandi M. Williams of West Springfield, Pa.; a sister, Pamela Williams Harris of Louisville, Ky.; and two brothers, Jeffrey of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Rick of Madison.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ruth and Merle Cool; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Williams.
Service is 3 p.m. Thursday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Roger P. Hogle of South Ridge Baptist Church officiating.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Laura A. Campbell
CONNEAUT - Laura A. Campbell, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at her home after a short illness.
Born in Ashtabula June 11, 1935, she was the daughter of August and Lena (Chicatelli) Prisco.
She was a housewife most of her life, raising her children and family. She later went to work for the City of Conneaut as a police dispatcher for many years and later as the administrative assistant to the city manager until 1995.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the planning commission and the Cara Mia Club, and also sold real estate for Harbor Realty Co.
She enjoyed painting, listening to Italian music, cooking and baking for her family, gardening and television. She also was a Girl Scout leader at one time in Los Angeles, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Club 408 and St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Campbell, whom she married July 13, 1981; four sons: Robert Teed of North Kingsville, Frances Teed of Ashtabula, Glenn Teed of Albion, Pa., and Rick Teed of Ashtabula; four daughters: Stephanie K McManus of Conneaut, Mary Ann Teed of Ashtabula, Laurie Skeel of W. Springfield and Allison Gill of Conneaut; four step-daughters: Tomasina Tafelski of Erie, Pa., Jennifer Grant of Japan, Apryl Ring of Erie, Pa., and Valerie Freeman of Fairview, Pa.; sister, Janice Prisco of Arlington, Va.; 30 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with the Rev. A. Edward Gretchko officiating. Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

John Kostelic
CONNEAUT - John Kostelic, 95, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Inn Conneaut Health Center.
He was born Dec. 5, 1907, in Cleveland, the son of Frank and Mary (Kosir) Kostelic. He worked as a Labor Supervisor on the New York Central and Conrail railway systems, and retired after 47 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Church in Collinwood, and enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and most European countries. He was an avid dancer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the Slovenian Hall at 64th and St. Clair in Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rudy, Frank and Anthony; and a sister, Mary Heidnik.
He is survived by a great niece, Cathleen Novak of Ashtabula.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Assumption Church, Geneva, Father Paul Tobin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Knollwood Cemetery, Cleveland.

Marleah M. Kingdom
CONNEAUT - Marleah M. Kingdom, 88, of Monroe Street in Conneaut, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2003, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
She was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Conneaut, the daughter of Ira and Veronica Ralston, and had been a lifelong city resident.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include a son, Harry H. Kingdom of Farmington Hills, Mich.; three grandchildren, Thomas Kingdom, Stacey Adams and Kelly Kingdom; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Lafferty of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard C. Kingdom; and a brother, Frank Ralston.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Conneaut. The Rev. Raymond Thomas, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut.

Grace M. Brett
CONNEAUT - Grace M. Brett, 80, long-time Geneva resident, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Brown Memorial Hospital due to emphysema.
She was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Cleveland, the daughter of Ernest W. and Blanche (Carlton) Lyons.
She had been employed as a bookkeeper and saleswoman for Your Furniture Store in Geneva and bookkeeper/accountant for Frank Brown and Sons in Hudson. Following retirement she volunteered at the Geneva Memorial Hospital Gift Shop and at Geneva Food Bank.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Geneva.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Brett-Pollock of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Rhea Kline of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gretchen.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva, with the Rev. Joseph Eckonen officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
