Joseph Skalicky
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Joseph Skalicky, 90, formerly of Pierpont Township, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut.
He was born Nov. 27, 1910, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Joseph and Marie (Kukoly) Skalicky and had been a resident of the Pierpont Township area since 1975 .
Mr. Skalicky was employed for many years with U.S. Steel, Homestead, Pa., retiring in 1975.
His love was farming when he moved to Ashtabula County, and being close to his family.
Survivors include three daughters, Cecelia Grandi of Lutherville, Md., Emily Ackerman of Monroeville, Pa., and Joan Hopkins of Aiken, S.C.; a son, Emil of Kennett Square, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Matilda, in 1983; a son, Charles; two brothers, Matthew and Edward; and a sister, Sister Clementine OSF.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Childs & Williams Funeral Home, 96 Route 7, Pierpont Township, with the Rev. Ed Diehl of Pierpont Presbyterian Church officating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont Township.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Pierpont Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, or St. Andrew's Catholic Church of Sheffield Township in care of the funeral home.

Albert Marshall
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Albert J. Marshall, 76, of Hatches Corners Road died Friday, July 20, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1925, in Cleveland, the son of James H. and Sarah (Teutsch) Marshall and had been a resident of Ashtabula County most of his life.
A 1943 Ashtabula High School graduate, he was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Reserves for 41 years before retiring. He also worked at the Rockwell Brake Plant as a welder for 22 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Gageville United Methodist Church; of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ashtabula, the American Legion, North Kingsville; the Reserve Officers Association; the Association of U.S. Army, and the United Auto Workers.
He enjoyed fishing, football and spending time with his family.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret (Dragon); his stepmother, Peg Kummer of Fla.; three sons, Ronald and Peter of Columbus and James of Ashtabula; a daughter, Cheryl Piper of Geneva; a brother, Robert of Ashtabula; two sisters, Dorothy Mason of Ashtabula and Patricia Hommes of Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Renee Locy.
Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Dean Funeral Home, 3137 E. Center St., North Kingsville, with the Rev. A. K. Graff from Harbor United Methodist Church officiating. A military service by the Ashtabula VFW Post 943 and burial will in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ashtabula Hospice, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula.

Elizabeth A. Humphrey
KINGSVILLE - Elizabeth A. Humphrey, 80, of Kingsville died, Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at home.
She was born Nov. 5, 1921, in Cleveland, to Loren Cecil and Anna (Andrejkovics) Stewart.
She graduated from North Kingsville High School in 1939. She married Howard E. Humphrey, Sept. 15, 1946. She worked most of her adult live as a bookkeeper for the family service station and wrecker business.
Mrs. Humphrey was a member of the Kellogsville United Methodist Church. She loved taking care of her family.
Survivors include two sons, Nelson of Homosassa Springs, Fla., Howard Jr. of Kingsville; four daughters, Zoanna Bartone of Ashtabula, Christine Hudson of Pierpont, Elaine Marcy of Kingsville and Marle Humphrey of Conneaut; one sister Irene Talbot of Jefferson; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother Bill Stewart; one sister Marion Westcott.
Family and friends may call on the family Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the home of Elaine and Virgil Marcy, 4687 Baldwin Road, Kingsville.
The Ross-Billman Funeral Home 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula or the Kellogsville United Methodist Church, 4763 North Monroe-Center Road. Envelopes will be available at the house.

VICTORIA E. EVANS
KINGSVILLE - Victoria E. Evans, 83, of Dibble Road, died early Friday morning, June 20, 2003 at the UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut, Ohio. Arrangements will be announced by the Childs & Williams Family Funeral Home of Ashtabula.

Vivian M. Bancroft
KINGSVILLE - Vivian M. Bancroft, 80, of Kingsville died early Sunday morning July 20, 2003 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA.
Born July 20, 1923 in Sheffield, OH she is the daughter of Edgar C. and Hazel A. (Sprinkle) Lillie.
A resident of the area her entire life she worked for the Hotel Ashtabula where she met her future husband Dean A. Bancroft. They were married on June 15, 1946. She also worked as a seamstress for Congress and AA Leather.
he attended Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Sheffield Grange. She loved sewing, crafts, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband on June 20, 2002.
She is survived by her two children, Duane Bancroft (Chris Morey) of North Kingsville and Marla (David) Williams of Conneaut, two sisters, Ileen Nemitz of Ashtabula and Winifred Mackynen of Ashtabula, 8 grandchildren, Shawn, Dan, Ryan, Chad, Marie, Pamela, Kristi, and Lesley, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Rd., with Pastor Aleeda Burkholder of the Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7-9PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Also there will be a time for Food & Fellowship after the service at the Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church, 2070 St. Rt. 193.

Clara L. Sheffel
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Clara L. Sheffel, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at her caregiver's home in North Kingsville.
She was born Jan. 15, 1914, the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Shankster) Perkins. She grew up in Bloomfield, and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, where she participated in extracurricular activities, including school plays.
She married Edward Sheffle in 1936, and the couple operated a dairy farm on Noble Road in Windsor. After her husband's death in 1980, she continued to milk the cows and manage the farm with the help of her dog, Smokey, who drove the herd into the barn twice a day.
She sold the farm in the 1990s and moved to Orwell, where she lived until her health began to fail.
Survivors include a brother, Clyde Perkins of Bristolville; and sisters Grace Alleman of Colebrook and Alma Luecht of Independence.
Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. Burial will be at Windsor Cemetery.
Calling hour at the funeral home is 1 p.m. Saturday, until time of service.

Mary L. Carbon
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Mary L. Carbon, 93, formerly of Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the Glacier Hills Rehabilitation Center in Ann Arbor.
She was born Feb. 12, 1909, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Louis and Dolores (Alchitrave) Lodo.
She worked at the former Ashtabula Tannery, and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a son, Richard Carbon; and sisters Angelina Berges, Yolanda Scodellaro and Louise Delaverdac.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hour is 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W.19th St., Ashtabula.
